From my new column in Taki's Magazine: Read the whole thing there.
  • steve, did you know the leaders of the Know Nothing anti-immigrant party in 1840s included many Jews, who feared the immigration of Catholics would wreck the nice life that US Protestantism provided for them. Lewis Levin a Jewish congressman from Philadelphia in 1845 led anti-Irish riots and was a founder of the American party, which was part of the Know Nothing movement. Unfortunately, if Jews do come around to the hostility of this new America being built toward them, it may be too late to change it. I am sure even the most anti-semitic ruling class WASPS in early 20th century would have never applauded mass rape and murder as something appropriate. Too little to late will be their moto.

  • the big thing i remember as a kid in ’70s was the girls wearing the tight jeans, Jordache style jeans, no one cared about “Unisex”, which was just some Madison Avenue marketing gimic. Unlike now, “girls were girls, and men were men, boy we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again.”

I think both boys and girls are a lot more masculine than the late 70s. While most everyone agrees with me about girls I am one of the few that says that about boys. In the late 70s teen boys and young men mostly had long hair. There was no gym bro culture yet, lifting was less common and steroids for aesthetic reasons was pretty much unheard of. So you had a lot of passive looking skinny guys with long hair. They didn't necessarily look feminine but they didn't have the hypermasculine look that has been the norm for many years now.

  • What happened to the property of the 3 million Polish Jews that were killed? it went to the Poles. Are the Poles going to repatriate Jewish property back to the heirs of those that lost it. They passed a law denying any Jewish claims to their land. Sounds like the value of that property Poles seized from their Jews alone is enough to compensate, and they got Danzig. Germany should tell Poland once they return all the Jewish land prior to WWII to the rightful heirs, they will discuss reparation, and ask for Danzig.

Not all those 3 million had any property.

  • westwood village has been a ghost town since 1990s. I think the advent of the large malls, such as Westside Pavillion and Century City Mall with their large theaters killed it, as well as the wealthy neighbors who blocked revitalization plans. Also, the murder of a UCLA female student in a gang drive by, i think in the 90s, also was a big shock. There is no reason it should not be great and thriving as it was in the 1970-80s. In the late 70s and early 80s, the streets were jam packed, and movie theaters were flowing and busy. good times good times.

I think she was murdered in the 1980s. Culver City has huge malls but they are full of blacks from Inglewood and other black neighborhoods. Westwood village never was anything but an ordinary neighborhood shopping street. Last decent movie I went to in Westwood was Black Mass. the one about Whitey Bulger Walker there and walked home rather than get a ticket. Restaurants come and go. Open for a while and then closed.

UCLA owns most of Westwood village BTW.,

No bars no clubs nothing for students. Except for haircuts or a bank, the students and others who live in nearby apartments don’t go to supermarkets dry cleaners etc in Westwood because of the traffic. It’s impossible to park your car outside a dry cleaner without getting a $90 plus ticket. People have to ask a friend to drop them off and keep driving around the block to avoid getting a ticket. Last time I went to the big Ralph’s supermarket it took me 37 minutes to go the 3 blocks from Gayleu to Ralph.s. Never again unless it’s 6 am Sunday morning.,

The biggest problem and what keeps people out of Westwood is traffic. Like 3 miles an hour during the day and vulture police at night. About 12 city bus lines go to UCLA. And they stop every other block. It’s not just the university with all the students workers and visitors. There’s Ansl a huge hospital and medical center. Thousands of patients and workers coming every day to thousands of medical offices. It’s faster to walk in Westwood. From Santa Monica Blvd all the way to the campus. Faster to walk.

Westwood Village is well kept lots of trees. It’s a lot more attractive than a lot of streets. But few bars no clubs average restaurants horrible traffic difficult parking and traffic tickets; there’s really no reason to go to Westwood. There’s a few good restaurants. But who wants to find a $90 ticket on your car after spending $200 on dinner for 2.

At one time someone wanted to open a dance club. But the Westwood business association vetoed it. Because of the kind of people it would attract; blacks the association really doesn’t like bars either.,

Lots of empty storefronts in Westwood village. Not because of covid hoax or BLM. Because there’s just not enough business to keep the stores open.

West side Pavilion closed to convert to offices in 2019. Century City theaters show comic book movies adults who can afford Century City restaurants don’t go to. I’ve always thought of Century City as offices retail condos and a few hotels. Not a place to go for entertainment or a night out.,

Century City is a public nuisance. All the democrat presidents come to Century City to ask for money. And tie up traffic for miles. And the secret service closes down main streets. The president comes back and forth from the airport to the hotel roof by helicopter. No reason to close down streets and make traffic worse.

Russians seem to accomplish more than Danes, Swedes, etc. Think of areas requiring intelligence beyond the charts, like concert pianists, particle physicists, etc., Russians and Israelis do very well, probably more so than Chinese, Swedes and Danes percentage wise, but thats not reflected in their averages.

  • The thing that explains the Israel numbers is Charles Murray IQ chart for Jews, i think Ashkenazi… According to Murray, what makes Jews chart odd is the unusually large number (although still very few people) in the super right extreme tail end of super extreme smart. Its those right tail end people that change society, like Ford, Edison, Zuckerberg, etc. So on average Jews/Israelis may not be better than nations that do not have as many accomplishments, but if Murray is right, then they have far more of that very small number of people at far right tail end that make all the difference, such as make advanced weapons, Waze, Mobileye, etc., the disrupters
