RSSHaving began my law enforcement career in. 1980, I find much of what he says to be accurate. But I believe where he falls short is that there are many in the law enforcement business who should not be there. They regularly ignore law and rights to achieve their own personal goals. The will lie on reports, perjure themselves, plant evidence, move evidence, use unnecessary and unreasonable force, and provide a work ethic much to be desired. Do get me wrong. That means about half are doing the job, some is an outstanding manner. But if you are white, you are screwed from the go. You will be denied assignments and promotions because of the color of your skin. You will find it harder to gain a job than all other non-white races to include white women, who are preferred over white males. You will find other who have scored much less than you on written, oral and assessment of duty are promoted right past you. Women on some department have their own promotion lists in order to disguise women being pulled up from their lesser position on promotion lists to be promoted over more deserving white mails. So, the real problem is you, the public, is your police or Sheriff department is hiring and promoting the second and third best personnel. Perhaps this is why that SCOTUS has declared in several cases that cops do not have an obligation to protect you.
Anarchyst,
You and Fred are breaking my heart. Had most of these things and did many of these things. What a time it was. Hell, we could even go to the local dump with our rifles and the cops would come by and ask us (in New Jersey yet) if they could blow off a few rounds before they resumed patrol. Damn we’ve gone downhill……
