RSSGood God, this Lauri reads the NYT and has the gall to post it as proof of her opinions. So that means she is nuts and brainwashed.
Do we have a democracy? Or even representative government? So what happened to our jobs off-shored. Who approved that? Who approved 100 million legal immigrants in the last 50 years?
Why does anyone accept our stilted self-image, especially Diana?
If we compare Jewish crimes and Christian crimes over the last 500 years which would be worst? There were trials by fire and trials of witches in the Christian camp.
“….claimed Shane Allen, controller of BBC comedy.”
Reads like a great premise for a Monty Python sketch.
Does Saker understand that war is war. If the US starts it by attacking Russia in Syria then Russia has no choice but to start shooting and that means sinking ships in the Mediterranean and elsewhere.
Russia cannot avoid war once it is thrust on them. Apparently Saker has been intimidated because he fears personal death. The idea that Russia should pull its punches is wishful thinking.
Saker better pray that MAD will save us all. He also better get used to the idea that Congress will declare war on Russia once Russia responds to an attack in Syria. Well that will be a jolly war involving Iran and China when they are involved by the US. “We must not fear anything beyond our control is we wish to prevail.”
The categories used for comparison may not be relevant since Russia has not recovered from the Soviet collapse. No doubt they have kept up in critical technical areas related to the military.
Are those categories really relevant at all? Did Karlin prove that or does he just expect us to accept his biased assumptions. It seems that Karlin has an ideological ax to grind.
Saker does not take note of the Chinese political and economic model. Is that because Saker is wedded to some false Western point of view? Or does he feel that the Russian people are not culturally able to follow that path. He readily admits that they reject most of the thrust of Western capitalism. Well why cannot the Russian people develop capitalism? Are they not motivated to strive and succeed in a business that serves the general welfare?
Has the outlook of the Russian people been poisoned by Marxism from the Soviet era? Why are Russians not stirred by the accomplishments of China. Where is Saker to answer these questions.
I am not Saker but you nailed it--this is precisely where it is all going.Replies: @Talha, @Johnj
Do you think the US may eventually end up in a Dien Bien Phu situation in Syria ?
An isolated outpost dependent on air control, gradually being strangled by ground forces ?
The US is not France so a Dien Bien Phu is not going to happen. The US can bomb Asad and Syria anytime it wants to and Russia would not have a good response. So Russia is going to have to yield to US plans for Syria. It will be a forced partnership with Russia.
No amount of air defense can prevent a massive offense from the air. There is no historical evidence for air defense stopping a massive offense. Saker is perhaps delusional, I don’t know.
The word democracy is empty unless it means representation of the majority and their interests. Since off-shoring of jobs was done without consulting the majority the US cannot be considered to be a democracy. There are other issues that prove the US is an oligarchy.
The US and Israel have other options besides war. Consider subversion via color revolutions. Consider embargoes and sanctions. Why mess up the oil business?
Saker overemphasizes the military possibilities when there. Are others.
Maybe it’s all the farting that makes those rabbits so fast. But still, with all the stopping and changing directions they do.
So she is saying she got more votes than her husband. I am sure she gets some solace in that knowledge.
Just like trying to get out of your cell phone plan.
In the spirit of turning the Left's Alinskyite tactics back against them, it's helpful to remember that all of these services we buy or use for 'free' are just social constructions that can crumble even more quickly than they sprang up. To consider another example we've discussed repeatedly on iSteve, the SJW takeover of Big Sports has disappointed and angered many conservatives. But watching sports is the quintessential example of a social construction. If enough fans change their behavior, the whole sports landscape can be reshaped.Right now ESPN and its parent company Disney are reeling. In response to terrible performance and big losses, Disney has pulled its flagship content from Netflix and will launch its own streaming service. Disney's also going all-in for streaming at ESPN, as that network continues its implosion. See the details here: LINKAnd here's a chaser: if you're a devoted sports fan -- let's say a college football fan, to be specific -- and you think it would be impossible to resist signing up for ESPN's new college football streaming service, just take a look at the photo at the top of this story (LINK) and then think about what you're devoting so much time, energy and money to.All it would take, pour encourager des autres, as Steve likes to say, would be to undermine just one tower on Big Sport's castle wall.Replies: @Ripple Earthdevil

We would laugh so hard at that, us boys back on the block. I remember it trading on par with the one of Mickey Mantle’s 600 foot homerun.
My favorite baseball card.
