Okay. So it sounds like you're admitting that you just invented that nonsense about Ph.D.'s not being allowed to use the "Dr." honorific. When you go around spouting nonsense, then doubling-down on it, and finally admitting it was just something you invented, you lose credibility on more substantive matters.

On one of those, you made the claim that a major advantage of Baric's no-see-ems technique was that it fooled the target immune system whereas normal bioengineering wouldn't.

I said I was extremely skeptical about that, doubting that a dozen or so extra amino acids among the thousands in a bioengineered virus would usually make much difference to an immune system.

You still haven't provided any evidence. Here's the sentence you quoted from a Baric paper:

Ron, with respect, there is a point in your reply which remains quite weak:
Danielle Anderson, as a senior team member, should have read, and understood, the content of the DEFUSE proposal, and later related CREID grant requests...

She should have understood what she was personnally supposed to do in Wuhan BSL4, ie the test on chinese horseshoe bat of the "chimera product" defined in DEFUSE proposal.

As the chimera product was described as a potential vaccine aiming at bats, and given that investigating the theoretical human-to-human transmission possibility (e. g. due to furine site) was not included in the academic working program, she may well has believed (or be willing to believe) that any incident would have no impact on her as a human, or considered that the lack of any resulting symptom would demonstrate that she was eventually not wounded by the incident.


As a conclusion, you should not presume that she was a simple 'ordinary', naive low-level searcher scientist; indeed she should have been well aware of most of what the DEFUSE/CREID project was all about, but perhaps with more limited understanding of RML 'quiet self-spreading' added functionality, and lack of awareness of human-to-human transmission.

At the end of the day, the 'Dani' scenario is still lacking supporting evidence, and what happened precisely in Wuhan for the start of Chinese outbreack, and in the other countries for their own outbreacks remains to be understood more precisely.
