RSS“When the unconscionable McCarthy was ultimately censured, driven from power, and the notorious House Un-American Activities Committee finally disbanded…”
This article loses credibility in the second paragraph. Perhaps someone could kindly remind the article’s author that McCarthy was a senator. He was not a member of the House of Representatives. Therefore McCarthy could not have been even a member of such a committee of the house.Yet, with a perfunctory manner the author appears to imply (,or a reasonably well informed reader would infer) that somehow McCarthy bore sole responsibility for the existence of the “House Un-American Activities Committee”.
Such a basic error of fact is inexcusable and severely undermines the remainder of the author’s argument.
