Phil, Thanks for this post. Pretty much a ‘roll call’ of the usual complaints we might level at our ‘Hebrew’ brethren for their wicked, wicked ways. However given the reluctance of the vast majority of people to embrace these reality checks and respond in kind, so they must be repeated ad nauseum. What will it take? Can’t say for sure, but I’ll pick up on this theme shortly.

As for the USS Liberty, this is a story that’s been dear to my heart as a writer and researcher for some time, being amongst other things one of America’s worst best kept dirty secrets, so many of which it needs be said ‘coincidentally’ involve a certain Middle Eastern country which touts itself as the former’s most loyal, trusted, useful ally blah, blah, blah.

Worth noting is that even one of Australia’s former Prime Ministers Malcolm Fraser—who was our defence minister at that time (1967), and would’ve been in the know—revealed in his dotage about ten years ago his personal belief that Israel deliberately attacked the Liberty, and that it was covered up at the highest levels. This type of admission—belated as it may have been, and coming from a former leader of a nation which itself could with far more credibility claim bragging rights (albeit somewhat dubious) to being America’s “most loyal, trusted, useful ally” was itself shocking. (Not unexpectedly, Fraser’s true confessions mo inevitably attracted the ire and righteous indignation of Australia’s Jewish lobby; yes sadly we have ‘em too. As I’m wont to say, “hell hath no fury like an infuriated Jewry”.)

On a slightly different note, for what it is worth, my interest in this story was sparked by author Phil Nelson’s (now sadly deceased) work in exposing this war crime. Prior to Phil publishing his excellent book on the Liberty in 2017, I learned about this criminally tragic, and shame-filled episode via his earlier work exposing the lies and crimes of one Lyndon B Johnson (LBJ), America’s 36th president. LBJ—‘bar mitzvahed’ as America’s “first Jewish POTUS” by the way—had as you’ve indicated his grubby prints all over the Liberty crime scene, including the coverup. When time came to publishing his Liberty book, I worked with Phil in the lead up to its release to produce for posterity my own take on the attack. In any event, the resulting two parter (see links below) represents the results of that collaboration.

And now with Israel’s reputation (such as it be) seemingly collapsing faster than the Twin Towers on 9/11 in the wake of the latest iteration of its decades long Gaza Genocide Project, there’s no better time than the present to once again revisit the story of the fate of the Liberty. If in the current climate it brings a few more Americans to at least question their country’s fatal attraction to the Jewish state and the consequences of maintaining it—an “attraction” so described perhaps never being more evident nor portentous—then that can only be a good thing.

All of which is to say, for those who’ve yet to fully appreciate them, the Liberty narrative (the unofficial one that is) is another text book case study in the much touted ‘benefits’ to America of its one-sided affair with the Middle East’s “only democracy”. Not unlike might we say the JFK Thing and the 9/11 Thing, to name a couple of the big ones. A fatal attraction of sorts that given present events may well come complete with dire consequences for not just the US but the West and humanity as a whole.

If in this current milieu Americans can’t bring themselves to that all important critical mass awareness that this toxic relationship has facilitated the unmaking of America more than any other factor in its history, then I fear it will be too late. If it isn’t already that is. With incumbent POTUS Donald Trump arguably being the best “Jewish president” thus far, the signs are far from hopeful.

Can I gets me an “amen” from the choir pilgrims?

Hi Ron, Many thanks for this excellent post. There is a considerable amount of valuable information herein for me to draw upon in my future writing endeavours. And that’s even without mentioning some of the excellent commentary that renders have brought to the table. I’m referring here to my series on Zionism. For readers of the Unz Review who may wish to follow these articles up, they can do so in the links below.

A quick word firstly about Douglas Reed, and secondly my own impressions/understandings of the connections between the Balfour Declaration and America’s entry in the Great War. I still hold Reed’s work in high regard, and have read several of his books, including The Controversy of Zion. I also name check him in my series, and his work has had a significant impact on my understanding of Jewish history in general, and Zionism in particular.

As for the Balfour Declaration, it has always been my understanding there was indeed a strong, if not direct, connection there. Whilst at this stage I’ll maintain this view, I am perhaps now after reading your observations above to reconsider at least the degree to which there was a quid pro quo at play. Someone also mentioned the excellent work of Jim Macgregor and Gerry Docherty—in particular their second book “Prolonging the Agony”. Though it’s been awhile since I read this book, if I recall correctly they do in fact place considerable emphasis on the importance of Balfour and its connection to US entry into the Great War. I’d need to check again though. See below.

A damning indictment to be sure of our Teflon-coated Hebrew brethren, and on the mark. It is very much in keeping with my own views, though I prefer perhaps a more subtle style. G’Day Arthur, Many thanks for your response. Your observations are appreciated. As a writer I enjoy it when I receive informed and constructive feedback from readers. A few observations by way of reply. Yes, the “yeast” (or leaven) analogue is an interesting one on so many levels, as you’ve correctly alluded. It was this phrase which inspired the project, and it seemed both a near to perfect overarching title for the series, with each instalment (or part) intended to have a discrete subtitle. (To wit: the working subtitle for Part Two is that indelible Theodore Herzl phrase “The Terrible Power of the Purse”, to which I alluded in my original comment.)

Although much of my Sunday school learnings have long disappeared into my own memory hole, they from time to time surface to inspire in unexpected ways, and the “yeast of the Pharisees” was one. For me, as Biblical characters the Pharisees and their ilk (eg. the scribes, high priests, moneylenders et. al.) were/are the quintessential bad guys of the Good Book, if only because Christ himself had little patience for them. Put another way, if ever JC was tempted to veer from the “love your neighbour/turn the other cheek” path, we could always count on the Pharisees to piss him off. The Pharisees would invariably prove to be the exception to the rule, hence I guess JC’s cautionary advice to his followers.

To be sure the word pharisaic (meaning “hypocritical”) perfectly describes so many of The Tribe and their imperious sanctimony, never very attractive qualities in anyone, Jewish or ‘goyim’. Needless to say perhaps, I see today’s arch-Zionists and assorted Israeli apologists and their ilk as the Pharisees of our day. Like their chutzpah, whether they identify as Zionists or not, so many of our ‘Hebrew’ brethren like to wear their hypocrisy and self-righteousness on their sleeves. That we consistently allow then to get away with this is yet still a mystery for me, albeit an unfolding one.

To recoin a phrase, perhaps it’s enough then to say that, ‘in the Land of the Promised, the one-eyed man is king’. That said, our correspondent “Jung” courageously pointed to some of the reasons why we in the West accept to our increasing detriment this premise so unquestioningly, so meekly. I hope as indicated to continue exploring this “mystery” further–along with others–in future instalments. This not just for the benefit of interested readers, but for my own deeper understanding as a writer on the subject. If there’s one thing we might say about the “Chosenites”, they invariably make for good copy, and there’s no shortage of it. Cheers mate. GM

Oy Vey “Jung”, that was one hell of a rollicking roller coaster ride into farbotn teritorye! You surely had a lot of fun penning such an irreverent, deliciously sardonic analysis of the Chosen Ones and their wicked, wicked ways. (You also must, as it were, ‘have a pair’ yourself, even if you choose to use a pseudonym!)

That said, it was refreshing to read something that openly and frankly–and in such an entertaining manner — ‘took the piss out’ of our pseudo-Hebrew brethren without skipping a beat. There should be more of it. We in the West have elevated Jews and Jewishness to a deified status that as you’ve intimated is far from being in our best interests, an understatement of considerable proportion. This to the point that they can do no wrong and cannot be seen to do any wrong.

This reality for me was revealed in spades in Douglas Reed’s work, especially in his meisterwerk The Controversy of Zion. This book–completed in 1956 but which remained unpublished until 1978, two years after his death–exposes the “Grand Design” which has been a long time in the making. He was in my view very much ahead of his time, and very much in command of his brief.

Of course when you have the global media by the short n’ curlies, occupy Wall Street, maintain full ownership and control of Capitol Hill (and whoever might be sitting in the Oval chair), achieving such goals as those identified by yourself, Reed and of course others this is perhaps not especially surprising. And it would be achieved largely via what Herzl called the “Terrible Power of the Purse”. Your essay has come at a good time. Preamble/Abstract: As is so often the case, one can’t escape the sense of déjà vu attending conversations about any and all things Israel. Such debate is invariably attended by musings on its kinship with its chief benefactor—and midwife—the United States. For those of us looking, the events in the Middle East just in the past two years bring this into sharp relief again, with most of America’s political and media classes avoiding in lockstep any reproof of Tel Aviv’s serial machinations.

Though especially evident since 9/11—an event from which Israel has benefitted far more than any nation and from which it continues to do so—this unholy, toxic ‘alliance’ is the decades-in-the-making basis for everything we’ve recently witnessed, with links to pretty much all we’re experiencing in the here and now. Whilst such links remain, so do the existential dangers for America and the rest of the world.
