The public would never have known about the dramatic increase in violent crimes but for the diligence of RealClearInvestigations (RCI).
Trump brought it to the public’s attention during the debate he “lost” because of the “moderators” one-sided hostility.
“Florida university to host extremist after DeSantis-led lurch to right”
What does anything in the article have to do with DeSantis?
Did anyone else catch this comment from one of the “gang-bangers”:
“They be moving in our own territory and robbing people but they don’t get arrested like we do. I actually talked to one on the translator app. He told me all the things he got going on; how they helped him get a car, an apartment, (EBT) card, all this stuff. They giving them thousands, we get maybe $400 a month.”
Why the f are you getting $400 a month from the government in the first place?
“You’re not going to fix the problems from there,” said Jeff Asher, a crime analyst and consultant with AH Datalytics in New Orleans (and a former Upshot contributor). “If you want to fix the problems, go run for mayor.”
Your governor isn’t going to solve a spike in murder, he added. And it’s generally not the governor who’s been failing to solve it, either.
I know. That’s why it is foolish to claim that Republican leadership is the reason that “red” states have higher crime rates than “blue” states. I’m sure the NY Times will be refuting this claim made ad nauseum by Hillary Clinton and countless other politicians very soon.

Sorry, the link.
They have a suspect in custody who is described as a 15 Hispanic boy:
“This happens because being part of a large crowd makes it so no single person has to take responsibility for an action,” he added.
Is that like when antifa tries to burn a police station down with occupants inside it?
Richard B. Rosenfeld, a criminologist at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, said the rise in crime in Black neighborhoods is concerning, but the largely unchanged numbers in White neighborhoods nationwide undercut Trump’s argument that crime is rampant and out of control in cities.
The anti-police movement is solely concerned with alleged police brutality against Black suspects. Therefore, one would expect police only to fear arresting Black suspects, since this is the only type of arrest that, if things go badly, would spark intense media coverage and invite prosecution against the police. The fact that the rise in crime is only affecting Black neighborhoods and not White neighborhoods strongly supports the idea that the BLM movement is responsible for the violent crime spike. This is the point Trump is making. The fact that our esteemed “criminologist” draws the exact opposite conclusion is absolutely laughable.
If the intent of the signs is to thwart robbery, they fail miserably. My first thought as a would-be robber reading any of these signs would be that the occupants must be unarmed.
The murder rate of Baltimore is down slightly for one reason only: the previous year (2019) was the highest murder rate in the city’s entire history. Search “2019 Baltimore murder rate”:
“Baltimore ended 2019 with 348 homicides on record, according to data compiled by The Baltimore Sun. The year had already set a grim record of 57 killings per 100,000 people, the city’s worst homicide rate on record.”
It had almost nowhere to go but down.
Thanks for the reply. What’s amazing is that the two articles have no overlapping information. The Unz article has several Twitter posts from Teeter, the skinny guy. The Daily Mail has several images marked with the Facebook copyright that show Solomon (the fat guy) posing with armed Black people with pro-George Floyd messages. It also details information apparently coming from the FBI about the two’s support for George Floyd protests and their desire to kill police and white supremacists that I mentioned in my first post. All of this information should be easy for the press to verify. Somehow, I have the feeling that only if the evidence is debunked will we hear about it from the MSM.
The NHL and the, what did you say, NBA? It seems I’ve heard those initialisms before, but I can’t quite remember where.
OMG, not only are right-wing extremists behind the rioting, they have ties to Hamas! The DOJ/FBI found their crime!Replies: @vhrm, @GA on my mind

Alleged Boogaloo members face terrorism charges in Minnesota
...Michael Robert Solomon, 30, of New Brighton, Minnesota, and Benjamin Ryan Teeter, 22, of Hampstead, North Carolina, are members of the "Boogaloo Bois," authorities say.
They are charged with conspiring to provide and attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organisation, for allegedly building firearms suppressors that they believed they sold to Hamas, and for allegedly offering to fight as "mercenaries" for the group.
Assistant Attorney General John Demers said in a statement that people who seek to engage in terrorist activity will be held accountable, "no matter what witch's brew of ideological motivations inspire" them...
I found this version of the story from the Daily Mail, which as many readers probably know is a UK right-leaning website. I don’t know how accurate the information is, but it portrays the two arrested men as openly sympathetic to George Floyd and BLM. Some excerpts from the article:
Solomon and the men he was with said that they supported the protests and demanded justice for Floyd, but were opposed to riots and looting and wanted to protect private property.
….
According to the indictment, Solomon and Teeter first came onto the FBI’s radar when a witness came forward and reported disturbing encounters with the two men, who were staying temporarily at the witness’s home with firearms and ‘substantial quantities’ of ammunition.
The witness said that Solomon claimed his group, the ‘Boojahideen’, was opposed to the police, white supremacists and looters, and that his ultimate goal was to remove the police from Minneapolis and overthrow the U.S. government, prosecutors say.
….
According to the indictment, Solomon and Teeter also told the informant — and an undercover FBI agent posing as a senior member of Hamas — that they had plans to kill politicians, journalists, and white supremacists.
…..
There are also several pictures of the two men posing with Black people in front of pro-George Floyd signs.
All this is a kind of “bombing of Dresden” of sorts. Kind of a karma thing. America played its part in the bombing of Dresden. Now America is the new Dresden.
Yes, those poor innocent Germans. What did they ever do to deserve that?
the outbreak could be particularly brutal for marginalized communities who can’t afford to miss work and have no way to avoid crowded conditions
No, “marginalized” communities are the least impacted by economic downturn because they rely less on earned income and more on welfare. In fact, those who were not working before the outbreak who receive government “relief” checks will actually improve their finances, all from the comfort of their own homes.
I encourage anyone who needs a good laugh to click on the link he provides on Western European homicide rates. It literally goes back to 1300. Almost unbelievably, medieval England apparently had about the same homicide rate as modern day Richmond, VA. I guess for someone who thinks a 3% annual homicide decline will result in a 30% total decline in ten years, this chart somehow proves that Richmond’s homicide rate will decline to a sub-2 level.
https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/pictures/murder-map-deadliest-u-s-cities/
Richmond had a murder rate of 22.6 per 100000 people in 2019, giving it the 11th highest murder rate in the US on this particular list. Western European murder rates are mostly well below 2 per 100000 people. Your assumption that Richmond’s long murder rate decline—a decline that reflects a nationwide trend that closely corresponds to incarceration increases, tougher sentencing laws, and proactive policing—is going to inevitably continue until it reaches a <2 murder rate is ludicrous. To achieve such a low rate, absolutely massive incarceration would be necessary.
A 3% decline per year absolutely does not mean a 30% decline per decade. A 30% decade decline requires taking the total value of 3% of crime the first year and subtracting that value from total crimes each year for 10 years. That is not how a yearly percentage decline works.
Is smashing someone in the face with a frying pan considered bias? If so, I will soon be submitting this incident to the Bias Incident Response Team:
I was referring to the fact that the primary focus of the article was on the guilt of the police (it’s titled: “’They murdered him’: Stepdad blasts cops in shootout that killed UPS driver”). Possible errors in the police’s handling of the hostage situation are not tantamount to murder, and ignore the fact that the obvious “murderers” are the violent armed robbers. Had you thought about it, you might conclude that, yes, it might be nice not to be taken hostage by armed thugs who use you as a human shield in the first place.
BLATANT errors in the police’s handling of the hostage situation are tantamount to at LEAST negligent homicide, and while the f***ing dindus deserved to die NOBODY else should have been harmed by p0lice gunfire. Which begs the question, who was shot by whom?
