Russia is paying the price of its go slow approach.

Suddenly in the past few weeks they find themselves attacked by all flanks in Ukraine. NATO is also sending long range artillery and soon maybe ATAKMS with a 300km range that will do all sorts of carnage deep in Russian territory maybe even Russia itself.

I heard there was a new Ukraine offensive today in the east.

Sure they will lose thousands of troops but no one cares in the west including Ukraine itself that has millions where they came from.

Ukraine are also shelling and attacking the nuclear plant risking catastrophic radiation leak over Crimea while everyone sticks their fingers in their ears and blames Russia.

They thought they had all the time in the world could sit back and take a shitty village every week with no consequences.

Their dithering is coming back to haunt them.

The long game is obvious to anyone who cares to look.

This story is of vital importance in understanding and making sense of our current geopolitical circumstances, important...

Get huffy all you want, but if you're going to make strong accusations to try to convince non-believers, you've got to have you i's dotted and your t's crossed, which includes calling things by their correct technical name. Furthermore, as your article implicates corrupt actions in U.S. criminal procedure as well as singling out Rikers as a vector, and relies on such arguments in making its point, you've doubly got to make sure you're getting things right in terms of vocabulary and technicality.

Your mistake is the equivalent of when gun grab advocates write an article and claim that the AR in AR-15s stands for "assault rifle" (it doesn't); the sloppy verbal incorrectness makes the reader question how accurate the other in-article claims about the subject are.

That said, calling me a Hasbara troll is silly, given my commenting history on Unz. I think DSK was set up, as my comment stated. But I'm disinclined to believe your version if you're not going to hunker down and accurately argue the terms of your theory.

Getting worked up over the prison vs jail terminology in this case is misguided. Rikers may technically be classified as a jail because offenders are awaiting trial or serving sentences of <1 year, but it's a huge facility that's larger than most state prisons because that's where the most violent felons from the NYC metro area get sent (NYC alone has a larger population than most state regions hosting prison complexes). Rikers holds murders and gangsters, not drunks picked up on DUI charges. Metro jails in general—much less Rikers—have much harsher conditions than most prisons. Prisons are designed for long-term living and allow inmates way more privileges resembling life on the outside than people in jail get.

Rikers is well known to be one of the worst city/county jails in the country. Something else about Rikers. Like every big city, NYC had detention rooms and cells with beds toilets and meals in most police stations. Why couldn’t he have been left in one them for a day

Here’s a thought. DSK might have been part of the conspiracy. Few people leave their cell phones in a hotel room especially checking out for an international flight. For most people it’s automatic and unthinking wallet glasses keys note book and pen cell phone in purse or pockets. It was morning He probably wasn’t drunk.

So maybe DSK was forced to cooperate. Because he was a lecher and pervert who had sex harassed and even assaulted women in the past. Maybe some of what he did wasn’t just ordinary harassment and groping. Maybe he liked children or animals.

So the conspirators presented evidence of something completely illegal and unspeakable.
And told him “ request a room on a certain floor. In the morning a maid will come in and leave. “ “ Then leave your phone behind, check out and call from the airport about the phone. “ “You’ll be arrested, unpleasant publicity exoneration and retirement. “

Disagree. Like I said, if you're going to write an article about X, you need to make sure you aren't making basic errors in describing X or exaggerating X to the point that people who know about X are going to come to believe the writer doesn't know about X.

It's one of the reasons I have no trust in corporate media reports. Every thing they write about which I know something about is wildly off base or exaggerated, which makes me not trust them. And this was before they became traitors with the Russia Hoax, the stolen 2020 election, and supporting the Impeachment Coups.

  • The NYT article seems intended to discourage anyone from publicly supporting any theory that traces Covid-19’s origins back to the US by preemptively implicating anyone who does so as a “tool of Russian propaganda”.

It’s a warning from the Deep State. And it has obvious retroactive implications as well.

The timing of the article suggests that things might be getting hot. At this point, only experts in the field can say just from what is presented in the article whether Prof. Sachs’ conclusions are really compelling or just more tantalizing circumstantial evidence.

However, if Deep State analysts themselves have reached the former conclusion – meaning others with similar backgrounds are likely to have reached it as well, or if digital surveillance has detected a buzz amongst genetics researchers, then this might explain the heat and why such a warning was issued now.

If Covid-19 can be conclusively traced to US origins, then this would confront the Deep State with an existential crisis. If traced to botched handling, then the US would be exposed as an agent of criminally reckless negligence on an international scale that has cost the lives of millions and negatively impacted the lives of many more. If traced to a bio-weapons attack, the US would be implicated for carrying out a cold-blooded, premeditated and overtly racist war crime that has killed millions and ruined the lives of many more.

Such increased pressure will not be economic only.
Russia has re-asserted herself as the confident power she was during her Soviet past, and will occupy the ideological and soft power battlefield anew as well. Hence, she will publicise to the most the terrifying findings about illegals biowarfare activities in the Ukraine, and will similarly put a Covid origin inquiry to the forefront of her communication efforts.

This is what the NYT backers are bracing for: a new, Cold War-style soft power battle where Covid and criminal biowarfare will become key topics.

Yes it functions that way on very long comments many a time. That said, you need only scroll up to comment # 251 in this thread from my good friend John Wear to observe that his reasonably brief 300 word comment has the [MORE] tab inserted.
John is a known critic of many of Ron Unz's beliefs in relation to the Covid Psyop so that has to be factored in.

I've noticed it countless times occurring to others who have similar 'short-ish' comments.

It's happened to me on some very short comments, but there was nothing sinister about it.
On one of those occasions I recall, I posted a link to a photo that accompanied my short comment.
For whatever reason, the photo may show up in different size formats when it appears in UR - sizes that bear no resemblance to the size of the photo on my side.
ie: a small or medium size photo as viewed from my side may appear in HUGE format in the UR comment space - hence the need for the [MORE] tab so as not to disrupt the visuals with an outsized photo of some trivial item that may be off topic.

However, other times many of my comments will have the truncated format with the [MORE] tab included, while comments that are significantly longer in the same thread and elsewhere are not truncated at all.

I have a quite complete understanding of those times in Russia as explained to me by Russians who lived through those times, including some in positions to know quite a few details.

I think your problem, as well geokat62's, is that you overestimate the importance of the West. It's a common fallacy, being a Westerner. The reality is that Russian oligarchs used various sources of funding under various schemes, and more importantly, they used networks of players in good positions in the State, to acquire assets listed for privatization. They did it, the Russians, and as a result they owned those assets. Russian citizens turned out owners of privatized Russian assets. The role of advisors and foreing funding was complementary and the opposite of indispensable, i.e. replaceable.

    Replies: @fran

Just one of the state assets sold for $2 billion USD in the early 1990s when the average Russian was lucky to have $50 and banks would run out of money on a daily basis. To believe that any Russian individual relying on domestic funding would be able to afford this is laughable.

Hitler got his tactics from the Jewish Communists. The National Socialist had a saying that they could make a German (non-Jewish) Communist into a National Socialist very easily, and that a sizable chunk of their membership had formerly been Communist.

If you think about it, it's not that implausible. Communism back then gave meaning to the life of a person who had grown up in a shattered society, and much of the "meaning" was a promise of goodies plus constant praise for doing what the Party said to do. Hitler just changed a bit of the ideology (from an amorphous "proletariat" to a society run by a Germanic "father figure") but kept the promise of goodies and the constant praise.

After a startup phase, Hitler was able to match every Communist asset, including street fighters and "mass rallies" and even organic farming and "be-ins". I suspect that the Communists, being unable to sue for theft of intellectual property, had no idea how to counter this. Nowadays, of course, Communists use US clout and “repressive tolerance”, but back then (1930s) they didn’t. Fascists, back in the 1930s and after several failed wars of expansion/subversion by the USSR, tended to win in Europe, and the Left as a mass movement was pushed back to the USSR.

The funny thing is that the Fascist maximum leader turned out to be a single person, often "out of his head due to overwork", backed up by an administrative structure intended to relay orders down rather than information up, rather like Xi’s government in China now. ZOG/Jews/Communists/etc. (whatever you feel like calling them), have always used those tactics because they're the ones who created them. The idea that Hitler and the Third Reich invented or exemplify authoritarian or totalitarian government is purposely promoted to keep people like you permanently engaged in pointless fights against the wrong enemy. As @gkruz explains in the post right above yours.

Comparing any politician who has kissed the Wailing Wall or physically knelt before the President of Israel, to Adolf Hitler, demonstrates a child's understanding of history and politics. It also virtually confirms that the speaker has no idea what Hitler actually said in any of his speeches. thank you, fran, for your reply & view. russia's numbers yesterday were 50,000 a day. taking in their low population as you point out those are high numbers. i am curious why you discount russia as a threat, given the empire of chaos/lies/plunder losing badly to russia's smo, further the eu now facing a freezing winter no longer enjoying russia's cheap oil & gas...while russia is paying for the war with the revenue from natural resources. certainly i can agree the cartel may've mis-gamed the entire war against the axis of resistance, & currently struggling to regain lost territory (literally in ukraine lol) but my feeling is that the cabal/cartel considered & played the bioweapon from the beginning, certain it was a great way to soften up & weaken all major foes: china certainly america is after all china's rounding off number; iran b/c israel & britian view persian oil as theirs; & russia---b/c russia does weapons like no other & russia does war, some may have forgotten who won the first & second WW, the cartel may not have entirely forgotten.

Oh Russia is definitely viewed as a threat (and there is evidence that it has been targeted with bioweapons), but China’s economic growth is indisputably an imminent and existential threat to the US empire and not something that can be reversed without outright harming China.

again, i return to russia, russia some have said the cartel/cabal have coveted for generations & of late had imagined taking russia, owning once & for all all her resources which would be necessary to utilize in conquest of china. agreed, china being the ultimate threat, bt russia, her land, untold resources & gems, not simply needed, necessary, bt coveted. it may be russia & china in some minds/imaginings are one & the same, both integral. i don't imagine the minds of the cabal/cartel are magnificent bt sufficient to grasp what is needed & what they lust after. stopping & once again dominating china is only possible by first owning & ravishing ravishing russia.

My main point regarding Sachs is that looking at Russia in the 90s as a victim of a few American advisors is not just unrealistic, it is also offensive to Russia and it exaggerates the importance of those advisors. Russia was perfectly capable to screw things up on her own in the 90s and thus she did.

What's remarkable really is how fast she recovered. Russia's recovery from 2000 to the present is second only to China's growth.

    Replies: @fran

You seem to have a pretty simplistic understanding of exactly what transpired during the privatization era & transition economy. The few foreign advisors worked to create the conditions for foreign capital to buy up state assets for pennies on the dollar at the expense of ordinary Russians (who rightfully owned those assets), leaving the population destitute. Foreign banks, investors like Soros, and even states used shell companies to illegally finance corrupt (((Russian))) frontmen with outside capital that gave them unfair leverage to buy up assets from the people they intentionally made poor and desperate. Those corrupt frontmen who came to be known as oligarchs then took control of the government and the media, and were in the process of buying up the entire country and creating a permanent serf class that owned nothing while the west got an endless supply of resources. All of this was calculated and intentional.

The Biden administration is cooking the books on an unprecedented scale just to give him better optics for the midterms, and it will all come back to bite ordinary Americans in the ass. He’s draining the strategic petroleum reserve just to temporarily lower gas prices, which will have to be refilled at much higher prices that will drive up the price for consumers, not to mention the catastrophe that would befall the US if an actual emergency necessitated use of a depleted strategic reserve.

He’s also blatantly underreporting petroleum use in the US in order to put downward pressure on the market oil price, which will ultimately cause producers to decrease output and trigger huge price increases when an actual supply crunch hits. His administration is also cooking the real unemployment numbers to make the economy appear healthier than it actually is. These are all criminal ponzi scheme tactics intended to stave off reality until they impose totalitarian controls over the population.

    • Replies: @RadicalCenter
    @fran

Excellent observations about the strategic petroleum reserve, which has always been a paltry joke. Our fuel reserves should be more than one hundred times larger, with a well-guarded storage facility or two in every congressional district, perhaps every county.

We should have similar large, widely dispersed, well-guarded reserves of natural gas and potable water in every county of the USA.

Same with the most commonly used prescription medications, as for high blood pressure and diabetes. Manufacture common medications and medical devices here and provide them to US citizens at cost in a network of publicly owned factories and laboratories, always storing a multi-month supply of the most commonly used medical drugs and supplements.

It is long past time to lower our dependence on long supply chains for energy and other essentials of life — especially foreign chains but even unduly long, polluting, vulnerable domestic supply chains.

Probably because they've only ever seen out-of-context clips of him shouting and posing, and used (jewish) propaganda to fill in their mental blanks. Again, go read some non-fiction.

Once Stalin conned a single person (Hitler) into losing US and British support during the Poland affair, the Germans had lost strategically. Stalin also lost; his country and ideology never did recover from the demographic losses of "winning" World War II.

This song will give you the feel of what "winning" WW II was like.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yv_fuejbELc

Even the US lost heavily by fighting the World Wars. WW I and WW II solidified loss of US government to the big cities, run by professional "organizations" or "political machine" government. This government controlled things so tightly that it was able to mobilize the US for WW II on false grounds, and still have the US populace think that WW II was "the good war" into the 1990s.
As an example of how thoroughly things were controlled, the overwhelming majority of the US population was unaware that President F. Roosevelt (FDR) was could not stand without leg braces as a result of polio. It isn't the polio that's important, it is that information control was so tight that the general public did not know about it.

And, so, 2022 arrives and the Jewish "winners" of WW II have been displaced by Obama and company, declared White under their own 1964 Civil Rights Act and making their livings from niches that are going to vanish after Europe rebels against the current US destruction of European industry by denial of Russian resources to Europe.

History is strange, and the present is even stranger. This next transition looks like a big one, and as things stand several groups could end up winning, or, as in the above song, all groups could end up losing.

I don’t think Russia was a priority target. Russia’s land area is about twice as large as the US, but with just half the overall population, giving them a population density that is 4x smaller than it is in the US. Add to that Russia’s 11 time zones and some harsh weather & terrain, and it makes Russia a poor candidate for spreading a contagious virus, unless your target is Moscow or Saint Petersburg.

China was the ideal target, not only because their economy was a threat to the US empire, but they had a population of 1.4 billion living in relatively close proximity and trains criss-crossed the entire area. The Chinese New Year in particular was expected to see hundreds of millions of people traveling in and out of Wuhan.

I don’t think that Iran was a priority target or even part of the initial plan, but I could see some Zionist insiders pleading to include Iran in the plan, to which people Bolton and Pompeo would gleefully oblige.

Could this war be a scam to squeeze all those billions out of America? Apparently they're not keeping track of where all the money and weapons are going to. Perhaps some of it is used by Ukraine but most could be redirected elsewhere. I mean if you have a senile old git presiding over the USA it is natural to perpetrate a huge financial scam on him. The billions of dollars in weapons being wantonly dumped into a lawless war zone has expectedly been completely taken over by organized crime. The most influential & powerful gangs are connected with the top people in the Ukrainian government, so everyone gets to eat. Obviously the criminal elements are making the most of the opportunity to get rich and in turn every decision-maker along the supply chain gets a cut. So every shady character in Eastern Europe and Ukraine itself, including the Ukrainian government and their oligarch benefactors—has a vested interest in getting as many weapons shipments pledged to Ukraine as they can possibly squeeze out, and they’ll make use of any persuasion tactic that yields results. A corrupt press in a poor country will write whatever you pay them to talk about, and likewise for state officials. The western press (even if we pretend they have integrity) aren’t anywhere near the areas in combat and rely on Ukrainian government officials for their stories. And even though the US and EU are technically spending billions on these weapons, I think it’s mostly being exploited by criminals who see dollar signs rather than by hostile foreign interests who think they can strategically weaken the US by depleting its weapons stocks through de-facto donations.

''Top people'' like friend Saakashvili ? In August 2008, NATO reportedly tried to use Canada to start WWIII in Georgia, with Bush' friend Saakashvili. Russia crushed US-NATO in less that two weeks, and then quickly retracted -- because unlike the US-UK, Russia doesn't wage wars to make money, only to defend and keep its territory. Enraged Bush then gave Saakashvili another $1 billion in weapons. Today, US-UK NATO could retry to realize its ridiculous Georgian dream.)

What is the Real Target/Objective of US Offence Policy in Europe?
    https://journal-neo.org/2022/08/26/what-is-the-real-target-objective-of-us-offence-policy-in-europe/

...''in early August, Zelensky revoked the diplomatic passport of to Iasko, the Ukrainian wife of former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili’s wife, and David Arakhamia.''

''it appears that Zelensky fully understands that there is a greater and more insidious plan to use the Georgian Legion to try and overthrow the legally-elected Georgian government and bring Mikheil Saakashvili back as a figurehead leader. This appears to be another of the unadvertised quids pro quo for gaining US support, though it has nothing directly to do with Ukraine.

The cottage industry of arms smuggling in Ukraine and Eastern Europe, with the enforced involvement of Georgia and Azerbaijan, is nothing new. When the Ukrainian war turns bad, which seems to now be the case, many of those fighting on the side of Kyiv will turn up in Georgia.

Many weapons are already here, some stocks dating back to before the 2008 Georgian-Russian war. It will not take much to stage a coup, and there are full coffers to bankroll it.

Moreover, many of the CIA-funded “volunteers,” – including anti-Russian Chechens, some of whom happen to be Georgian citizens, will suddenly be looking for a new cause, as were the moderate rebels from Syria. It is a given that the US and NATO need a base of operations close to Russia, and Ukraine is losing that function.

Having once supplanted Georgia in the role, Ukraine will not able to serve as that base of operations anymore. Georgia has the experience and the lack of effective sovereignty, thanks to Uncle Sam, to make a regression there possible, regardless of which government is in power.''

Ron continues to ignore the smoking gun: the containment breaches at Ft Detrick in 2019. According to the CDC’s inspection report, which resulted in the firing of the facility’s commander and a months long remediation process, one of the breaches was due to a failure of a newly upgraded waste decontamination system. In other words, some waste at Ft. Detrick’s BSL 4 labs was not properly decontaminated and a containment breach was the result. The CDC report obtained by FOIA redacted the name of the infectious agent or toxin that leaked out of Ft. Detrick. They will not allow the public to know what it was.

Ron has repeatedly proclaimed that we would have known if SARS CoV 2 was circulating in the U.S. in 2019. But if we are admitting the USG is engaged in a cover up of COVID’s origins, why not suppose that they worked to cover it up from day one? Ron has still shown no interest in the mystery of EVALI, an epidemic of novel pneumonia that was stage managed by the CDC in the months after the Ft. Detrick breach. EVALI was the damnedest thing, because it caused symptoms identical to COVID, yet nobody could ever explain what caused it. Then it disappeared just in time for COVID to take its place. It remains extremely convenient for the CDC that the EVALI and COVID epidemics did not overlap at all. If they had, it would not have been possible to distinguish between the two diseases.

I still view this as beginning with a lab accident. A very serious accident in which an HIV CoV chimera was let loose on the world. It’s not a weapon per se, but it is bio engineered and it does kill some of the people it infects. This brings to another one of Ron’s blind spots: the jabs. News flash: they’re not vaccines. Vaccines don’t allow the average recipient to be infected multiple times. What the jabs do is target the spike protein: the HIV spliced virus hook with a furin cleavage site. The jabs have always been intended to force mutation of the SARS CoV 2 spike protein. They have been incredibly successful. This is why the MSM was so tight lipped about the jab risks. They did not disclose the risks because they could not disclose the true purpose of the jabs. They were not intended to immunize the public; they were intended to transform and neutralize the virus.

    Still crimes against humanity!

This is why the MSM was so tight lipped about the jab risks.

Or, you know… they were financially incentivized by the multi-trillion dollar pharmaceutical industry. This is the most obvious part of the entire covid debacle.

Also, your Fort Detrick lab leak theory doesn’t explain China and Iran being the first countries to experience outbreaks. If covid is so mild that the US was able to keep a domestic outbreak covered up for a year, why did it hit Iran’s political class so hard and what incentive would Iran have to report it? The most plausible explanation still remains that covid was an economic bioweapon against China that ended up spreading way beyond its targets, at which point the entire western corporate machine exploited it for profit.

.....ended up spreading way beyond it's targets,...... i was with you right up to that point but imo the whole world was it's target, remember that the gain of function research that lead to this had been going on for years under fauci and baric who had taken over the "defense" department research as well as heading the n.i.h. , so work on both the bioweapon and the genetic engineering project disguised as a vaccine were well underway by 2015 when baric received a patent on his work.

almost immediately the were reports of at least 4 different strains of the disease, some of which were more deadly than others. the pcr tests could not differentiate between them and later the cdc admitted it couldn't differentiate between covid and the flu. imo this is all part of the plan, they had years and unlimited budgets of both the pentagon, the nih, cdc and i'm sure several other agencies, to develop very specific mutations with specific symptoms that range from a runny nose to a slow suffocating death. the fear and panic generated by this was used to force their synthetic mrna experiment on unwittingly and sometimes unwilling human guinea pigs. imo none of this is accidental, follow the money.

Having said that, I feel people in the so-called "911 truth movement" are still stuck in the minutia of the mechanics of 911 even after more than 20 years.

The real question about 911 is WHY and WHO. As Mr. X in the JFK movie played by Donald Sutherland stated so succinctly:

That's the real question isn't it: why? The how and the who is just scenery for the public. Oswald, Ruby, Cuba, The Mafia, keeps 'em guessing like some kind of parlor game, prevents 'em from asking the most important question: why? Why was Kennedy Killed? Who benefited? Who has the power to cover it up? Who?

  • @JWalters
    @Iris

The nuclear detonation makes sense to me, but I don't see how the rapid side explosions descending down the sides of the Towers would look like plane damage. Might not they have been to weaken the outer support columns, and facilitate a clean collapse?

I appreciate all your highly informative comments.

    Replies: @Iris, @mulga mumblebrain

    Thanks for your reply.

As you know, American scientists have independently collected and analysed particles of nanothermite from the WTC rubble. This finding is genuine. Nanothermite, a military-grade explosive, was being secretly developed in 2001 and was available only to Israel and the US.

One can only speculate here, but since the “planes” striking the Twin Towers had impossible flights, impossible physical properties, impossible impacts, and cartoonishly-fake crash footages, these plane crashes could not have happened and did not happen.
It is reasonable to posit that the nanothermite was used to simulate the “plane crashes”.
It was planted in advance by operatives, in order to generate the two massive explosions atop the Towers and stage the alleged “plane ” impacting onto the structures.

Second, after these first two large explosions, a large number of smaller explosions happened in-between and until the final controlled demolitions.

Those small explosions were: (1) filmed on video, showing unidentified pieces being ejected sideways during the Towers’ collapses (2) reported by dozens of firemen (3) reported by witnesses who rushed out of a Tower covered in dust before its collapse, and were captured on footages still available to us:

So there is no doubt that these secondary explosions happened, but we can only speculate why.

Some, like 9/11 Truther Heinz Pommer, a man of great courage and impressive integrity, think that these explosions were made to weaken the structures in preparation for their final demolition.
I don’t think so. Why? Because their yield was visibly far too small compared to the main detonation, a ratio of 1/100 or even more. So they could not have played any significant role in the overall demolition scheme, and they were not even needed anyway.
(WTC7 collapsed in the same fashion but without any secondary explosions. But since it was half-shorter, the comparison is not conclusive to support my argument).

Again, we can only speculate with a rational mind: these secondary explosions could have been prepared to stage “the office fires” that were always to be later used as pretexts to justify the collapse, to destroy the sprinkler system and fire water risers to incapacitate firemen, to materialise the scenario of a Tower being eaten by fire because a “plane” had crashed into it, to fuel the psy-op in other terms.

Finally, what one can be certain of is that all 3 WTC buildings collapsed in a manner which was classic, unmissable cases of underground nuclear detonations.

For each Tower, a nuclear charge of circa 100 kTons-equivalent was detonated in a underground explosion chamber at 246 feet / 75 metres below bedrock surface, or 96 metres below street level. (These quotations, believe it or not, are available on the official construction blueprints.).

The blast (supersonic pressure shockwave) shattered both the Tower as well as the bedrock it was standing upon and anchored into, creating an underground nuclear chimney.

But because of a well know and well established phenomenon, the Tower did not collapse straightaway.
During the seconds immediately following the detonation, the pressure of gases generated around the newly-created nuclear cavity is so high that these gases support the weight of the fractured rock (and the Tower above it).

Once the gas pressure dissipates however, the underground nuclear chimney collapses, engulfing the Tower, like a stage hatch would do to an object standing above it.
This process is described in this official US government document:

The predominantly steam-filled cavity eventually collapses forming a chimney. When collapse occurs, the steam in the cavity is condensed through contact with the cold rock falling into the cavity. Within a few minutes or days after an underground nuclear test, “When the gas pressure in the cavity declines to the point where it is no longer able to support the overlying rock, the cavity may collapse. The collapse occurs as overlying rock breaks into rubble and falls into the cavity void. As the process continues, the void region moves upward as rubble falls downward. The “chimneying” continues until:

    – the void volume within the chimney completely fills with loose rubble,
    – the chimney reaches a level where the shape of the void region and the strength of the rock can support the overburden material. or
    – the chimney reaches the surface.

Otherwise this stuff just bounces around within the UNZ echo chamber and goes - exactly nowhere. I've read that Russia is not being very effective in disseminating their propaganda.

The good thing is UNZ is viewed by a very limited group: limited in numbers and in scope. Many people who are attracted to this kind of stuff are dysfunctional spittle sprayers hung up on Jews or race to the extent they are unable to incorporate anything outside of that fog of hate into their thinking. They also make the comments almost unreadable for the balanced. Another group is the pseudo-intellectual political historians who just like to do their little fandango and then argue amongst themselves. Good. Unz gives them all a home in which to aggregate and rant to their hearts' content, making monitoring them so much easier. You think there is any veil the NSA can't penetrate?

If the West seeks to negotiate at this point, it will only be to avert defeat and buy time to regroup and rearm. Putin has made a really stupid and bloody move by waging war on Ukraine. I concede that his speeches are more intelligent and in some ways more rational than Western leaders, but that doesn't mean he doesn't or shouldn't have domestic enemies. After all, he's whacked a few of his own (e.g. Sobchak) and imprisoned more.

‘The National Republican Army is responsible for the murder of Daria, the daughter of Russian imperialist Alexander Dugin, former Russian lawmaker Ilya Ponomaryov said.

He claimed that the group had authorized him to issue the statement. “We declare President Putin a usurper of power and a war criminal who amended the Constitution, unleashed a fratricidal war between Slavic peoples, and sent Russian soldiers to certain and senseless death.”
    The Kyiv Independent

Interesting that so many revolutionary movements in the last century want to be known as republican, whether Iraq's Republican Guard, The People's Republic of China, Spanish Republican Army etc - all with different ideologies. There must be a recognition that universal franchise democracy doesn't work. The communists say that communism has never been fully tried, maybe it's the same with republicanism.

But is this republican group telling the truth about Putin? "usurper of power" "amended the Constitution" check. (Most Americans think it's a good thing that a president can serve only 8 years.) "unleashed a fratricidal war" check. "sent Russian soldiers to certain and senseless death" check.

So it's understandable that Putin would have domestic enemies. But Putin has many far-right fans, even on this website. He's anti-liberal, but his deepest desire (up to now) is to amalgamate Russia's economy into the capitalist west. He suffered many slings and arrows to try to make that happen. So how anti-liberal is he? He's given credit for organized Jewry not liking him, but it seems to be an unrequited hatred He and Netanyahu were meeting all the time. Does Putin insist that Israel stop bombing who it wants in the Middle East? Putin also got on the making "holocaust denial" illegal bandwagon.

Andrew Anglin, Putin's biggest shill on this website, would be in jail in Russia for what he says about Jews alone. But maybe Vlad will save us from globohomo, if he doesn't destroy himself with a fratricidal war he started in Ukraine.

Yes, but that doesn't mean such functionality is accessible and can be controlled remotely via a cellular connection, including preventing a driver from regaining mastery of the vehicle.

I see only three possibilities technically: 1) signaling; 2) remote SIM access; 3) an IP data connection (note in particular that a SIM could be triggered to activate a client, which would then establish such a connection).

    1) All signaling (peer-to-peer messages) is defined in the 3GPP specifications, and there are no such messages, nor will there ever be -- this option is mentioned more or less only as a formality.

    2) Remote SIM access is routine nowadays, and via a SAT (SIM Application Toolkit) can be used to do things like service provisioning and activation of existing functionality -- I see this as a way to activate a local client, or even download and install such a client, where the client would then initiate 3).

    3) I suppose it would be possible to remotely control a vehicle via an IP data stream, but in addition to a remote server/control application, you would need a sophisticated, very specialized client on the vehicle side, one with full access to the control interfaces of all relevant systems on the vehicle.

  • This “Rolo Slavskiy” character and his “Anon001” counterpart in comments throughout UR are laughably overt anti-Russia propagandists who feign to be Russian nationalists while attacking Putin and Russia from the right. These “interviews” (lmao at anyone who thinks these are real) are such contrived garbage that they could only be written by some NATO freaks, most likely overweight Latvian blue-haired women working for the Atlantic Council.

Ron Unz—please look into this author’s background and verify they are who they claim. Their articles all follow a very peculiar theme and nothing about the author, the interviewees, the subject matter, or the content itself appears organic.

  • Current hot news is that evil Ruskies are cutting gas off to the Germans, who will suffer horribly. What have the Germans done to Russia? Well, they donated millions of dollars of equipment and munitions to Ukraine to kill Russians. They also host training for thousands of Ukrainian soldiers so they can better kill Russians.

Germany also agreed to economic sanctions to hurt the Russian economy. Germany refused to speak out when Ukraine ignored the Minsk accords while Ukraine killed some 14,000 ethnic Russians (their own people) with random artillery and tank fire into Donbass. Finally, Germany never denounced the American sponsored 2014 coup in Ukraine that ousted its democratically elected government and ignited this proxy war.

I agree, but I think the '14..000' must now be on the very low side, since many have been killed in mixed areas, many assassinations of politicians and local figures, it would seem many Russian speakers tortured, just killed, or tortured then killed.

The prison population of such people must be huge.

All opposition political parties banned, any critical media, too.

I would expect that the result of all of those actions is a far more horrific criminal State in the Ukraine than most imagine.

PC Roberts has been pleading for some time that Russia should have turned off the gas to Germany when it supported the sanctions and especially since it has provided the Zelensky Regime with high-tech weaponry. But Russia had a contract with the Germans which they honored.

As the contract expired, Russia threatened to turn off Germany's gas, but I recently read that it hasn't done so, only providing its enemy with a reduced amount. Why is Putin being so magnanimous when most of Europe, not to mention the leading role of the Evil Empire, is conspiring to destroy it? From what I've read the ruble is strong and Russia doesn't need the money - not with China and India ramping up their purchases. And isn't Putin's policy getting Russian soldiers needlessly killed at the same time it is prolonging the war?

What will happen when winter arrives (can't happen soon enough), and Germany has no heat for millions of its citizens? Will Russia let them freeze, which might lead to the overthrow of its CIA-sponsored lapdog government (as well as other Euro govt's), or will it be the nice guy and increase its supply of gas? The jury is still out.

There is a concerted effort by the WEF lunatics to take control of food production around the world, whether it’s buying all available farmland, sabotaging food processing facilities, putting family-owned farms out of business via ridiculous climate cult mandates, or making farms entirely dependent on corporate-owned GMO seeds. It’s a terrifying prospect that’s already well underway.

The wild strawberries you speak of are one of the most delicious fruits in existence. They’re pretty common in farmers markets around Europe when in season, but I’ve only seen them a few times in the US at specialty stores. Wild blueberries are similar in tasting 100x better than the store-bought version. Like wild strawberries, they’re much smaller and the flesh is like a deep indigo color instead of the greenish you see at the store. Most Americans would gladly pay more for real fruit, but we don’t even have that choice anymore, even at farmer’s markets or ridiculously overpriced stores like Dean & DeLuca.

Out of all fruits and vegetables, tomatoes have the largest gap in taste between American and foreign grown. In the US they're essentially tasteless and serve no purpose as food. Strawberries are another big one, though good strawberries can be bought at specialty stores in season. American eggs also severely lack in taste for some reason, even the free-range organic options. At this point there's no food item in the US that hasn't been ruined by GMOs and factory farming, and the same transformation is underway in Europe.

Monsanto and their GMO seeds have actually played a major role in the post-coup Ukrainian government, using corrupt officials to change laws in their favor and push out family farms. This recent article covers the issue in great detail:

Wrong. The civil war or the civil conflict is all about Ukrainians and their national identity.

No it's not "all about Ukrainians and their national identity"; rather, it's about a jew-controlled-U.S.-"government" plan implemented to overthrow the lawful Ukrainian government and to subsequently use the territory of Ukraine as a weapon against Russia. If it was "all about Ukranians and their national identity," for example, "Ukraine" would not now be engaged in a war that it will certainly lose and be all the worse off for it in every possible way. Practically every single thing the "Ukranian 'government'" does manifests its illegitimacy.

I have stated before I will say it again, war is a nasty costly business best avoided. It brings out some of the worst of who can be as people. The political conflict had influences outside from Russia, the EU, NATO and the US, the side that supported the less of Russia side won. Several regions did not take the loss well and opted to break Ukraine into pieces, they chose to do that by force and the Ukrainian government responded with force.

You misrepresent the situation. The reason "the side that supported the less of Russia side 'won'" is simply because that "side" cheated. Had that "side" honored the agreement made with Yanukovych on Feb 21, 2014 (which was apparently a good faith effort by Yanukovych to end the conflict) and had the elections subsequently taken place as per the agreement, and had an opposition candidate won that election fairly, then you might be able to say that that side "won."

IIRC, in accordance with the agreement, Yanukovych ordered government forces to stand down, but the opposition ignored the terms of the agreement and immediately escalated the violence, whereupon Yanukovych fled the country, apparently fearing that his life was in danger (which it very likely was). So to the extent Ukraine ever existed as a legitimate, sovereign state in the first place, that existence ended on Feb. 15 2014; after which "Ukraine" was nothing but a lawless territory with an illegitimate "government" run by jews. As such the breakaway regions had every right to assert their own sovereignty under the circumstances.

Death in such scenarios is indeed tragic. And it is unfortunate that Russia encouraged the conflict and undermined the Minsk accords by refusing to withdraw from the conflict, a requirement for all foreign parties, Russia refused. As such Ukraine was under no obligation or pressure to abide by an agreement alone and against their own interests. Again absolutely tragic that civil conflicts result in destruction.

You're going to blame Russia for the failure of the Minsk agreements, for example, even after Poroshenko publicly admitted that "Ukraine" never had any intention of complying with them? Poroshenko admits to bad faith from the beginning but it's all Russia's fault?

    Replies: @fran

SCARY THREATS OF THE UKRAINIAN REPRESENTATIVE: Together with our Croatian brothers, we will take revenge on Vučić

The member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Aleksey Goncharenko, sent threats to the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.

“Namely, he wrote on Telegram that Ukraine, together with Croatia, will take revenge on President Vučić for his statements about the war in Ukraine.

Goncharenko hinted that Kiev, together with Croatia, is planning to prevent the possible entry of Serbia into the European Union.

    - We will certainly not forget Serbia, together with its president. And then it will be interesting to watch Serbia with six million inhabitants and its desire to join the EU. Russia said they were targeting Ukraine airforce officers meeting with arms dealers.

If Russia starts taking out the despicable low-life that profit of peoples death then the war will be stopped overnight.

The black market is full of them and they can be had for $10k-20k for a Javelin that costs taxpayers close to $1 million. These weapons would work perfectly for taking out any manner of law enforcement vehicles that are being deployed against the farmers, including APCs and helicopters. Drop off a couple dozen to some willing & trustworthy farmers, have them hide a couple of miles away from the police or target buildings, and boom, wreak some havoc and let the Soros henchmen know that the farmers aren’t playing. Empires are good for civilization, because they generally bring peace. They did not call it the Pax Romana (or the Pax Americana) for nothing. Unfortunately the American Empire was taken over by the Zionist Neocons, otherwise it could have continued for centuries. It's clear that Russia wanted it to continue, but eventually they had to accept that the Zionists would only be happy with their complete subjugation.

In fact, in the 246 years and counting that the USA has existed, they've only been not at war for less than 20 years.

Compare that to their number one rival, the PRC, which has only been established since 1949 and already has had lasting peace for more than 40 years (their last little skirmish was with Vietnam in 1979), which is even longer than I've been alive.

  • This article clarifies and proves with blinding light and logic the Jewish-led Russophobic 30 year + growing attacks on Russia leading up to the provoked SMO undertaken by Russia in Ukraine.

There is only one question that guides Jewish political “thinking” – if one can call this question a product of thought- and it is simply “Is it good for the Jews?” according solely to Jewish criteria.

Frankly I think Jews – Israelis and Diaspora Jews so-called، hate and despise Russia for myriad reasons, some factual but many if not most, fabrications. In a word lies.
They hate Russia because of the pogroms, all exaggerated; because of Solzhenitsyn’s exposure of the overwhelmingly Jewish leadership of the Bolshevik Revolution and the Jewish power exercised in the Cheka and the Gulags. They hate Russia because of its presence in Syria and Putin’s reining in of the Jewish oligarchs. And more than anything today I think they hate Putin because he has them figured out for the liars they are and always have been. He knows the extent to which they contributed to the economic collapse of Russia under Yeltsin.
And of course, Putin and Russia are leading the attack on the international banking cabal both established and still controlled by Jews and their cohorts which is collapsing Jewish power before our very eyes.
I believe that this war in the Ukraine is the swan song of both Zionism and Jewish power and all brought about by themselves. Because of Jewish hatred of the Goy/Gentile, with Russia being the supreme example of the goy today, they have no idea of the real world and its power structures and how they have changed.
The result of the defeat and loss of the Ukraine will not be unlike the account written by Josephus in his The Jewish Wars.

  • The big question is: why did Biden suddenly change his mind about Germany’s “leading role” in Europe and about the anti-Ukrainian (and anti-Polish) Northstream 2 gas pipeline, which had been built to cement German-Russian cooperation? In other words, why did Biden suddenly break free of the handlers who put him in office in the first place? Why is Biden now talking like Trump, who came to Poland and said “America loves Poland”? Did the US military top brass step in and make him see sense? Who is really running America just now?

What Germany and Russia had been aiming for was a return to what they had in the good old days, i.e. when Bismarck was in charge. Good old German-Russian imperial friendship at the cost of Poland and all the other smaller countries of Eastern Europe. In other words, a German-Russian Condominium. That had been Putin’s offer to Germany all along and Merkel wholeheartedly accepted it by building gas pipelines together with Russia on the bed of the Baltic Sea. Fortunately, these plans can be foiled by accelerating the process of bolstering Eastern-European integration at the cost of the neo-imperial interests of Germany and Russia.

Britain and America now see that the best way to counter Merkel and Putin’s joint scheme to set up a German-Russian Condominium is to make a future united Eastern Europe “great again”. And that’s *exactly* why Putin has now invaded the Ukraine. Last year’s demonstrations in Belarus sounded all the alarm bells in his evil imperial mind. A strong and united Eastern Europe — a resurrection of the old Polish Commonwealth in some new form — is Germany’s and Russia’s worst nightmare.

The Ukrainians are now doing what the Poles did in 1920 during the Polish-Soviet War, when relatively few Ukrainians were willing to fight the Red Army. Without the Ukrainian “brother nation” under its thumb, the Russian Empire’s days are numbered. Unfortunately for Putin, the Chinese general staff are watching all this.

No doubt the Chinese will soon be claiming that they have a duty to protect all Asians living under Russian rule. Putin’s making exactly the same mistake as Stalin. Just as Hitler’s eyes were firmly fixed on Russia and especially the fertile lands of the Ukraine — the German equivalent of Britain’s India, as he used to say in his private conversations — the eyes of today’s Chinese leaders are also firmly fixed on all that Lebensraum which is temporarily owned by a mere handful of Russians. The conclusion to be drawn is obvious.

The Biden Administration is packed with the same neocons who championed the US wars of choice in Serbia (1999), Afghanistan (2001), Iraq (2003), Syria (2011), Libya (2011), and who did so much to provoke Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Well here’s the comment on that Jeffrey Sachs link by someone, unlike 99% on UR really knows a lot about Russia and Ukraine (he even taught the only MBA course in the Soviet Union ever in 19o0, lecturing in Ukraian and Russian).

I had a very dim opinion of Jeffrey Sachs after the disaster he helped cause in Russia in the 1990s. This has convinced me he is a complete blithering idiot. He makes no mention of the Budapest Memorandum of course. He makes no mention of the US’s “Russia first” policy that dominated its thinking and kept Ukraine as an irrelevant afterthought, sending junior ambassadors there for experience. If you showed this to Ukrainians they would simply laugh, saying Sachs came down in the latest shower, while Russia has been attacking Ukraine for hundreds of years. Unlike Snyder, Sachs has no idea of Ukrainian- Russian history or culture & how different the mentality is from Russians. He also seems to have no idea of the fact that Ukrainians have played along all the while with the “neutral buffer” theory. But that military neutrality does not mean being sentenced to live in poverty forever, and to have their culture destroyed by Moscow. He has no idea that for the past 22 years Russia under Putin has been at war with Ukraine undermining it internally and externally and from 2014 physically invading it. Ukrainians would give a thumb to this intellectual dope and his phraseology. They simply want a better income and to be able to live their lives in peace pursuing their own culture. Russia as I explained in my Quadrant article has been living this lie for 300 years that they were in Kyiv being baptised in 988. Without Kyiv they are forced to rethink their own history which they would rather not do. Sachs seems blind to the genocide that is going on. You can’t negotiate with someone who denies your right to exist.

Why I wonder do the apparatchiks of UR line up religiously behind the belief that Victoria Nuland, the CIA etc. engineered a coup based on the Maidan square in 2013/14? From what I’ve heard it’s as much BS as saying Trump’s election was a Russian coup , rather than so.ething Russia tried to contribute to and may have assisted slighy. Uh you are not well-informed.

First, Putin did not "ride a wave of resentment into the Kremlin". Putin was put there by Yeltsin. It was like Yeltsin woke up one day from his alcoholic stupor and told the Russian people "I'm not feeling good and this guy here will be your new acting prime minister". That was August 1999. Then in December of the same year Yeltsin resigned and Putin became "acting President". Many well informed people think that Putin fooled everyone, pretending to be a puppet but actually being an astute nationalist and the strongman that everybody knows today.

Second, no, I didn't get an appartment in Moscow as a result of free market reforms in Russia because I am not Russian, though I know many Russians that got their appartments and houses for a token payment in the 90s. Some of them have later sold their appartments at market prices. But I/we got "very nice outcomes" thanks to Western sanctions recently, mind you, by betting on the Ruble in March this year. I predicted here in comments at TUR that the ruble would fall as a consequence of sanctions and then quickly recover, which is exactly what happened.

Third, the Russian economy as a whole was thrashed in the 90s but blaming US advisers is disingeneous. The harm was done by locals. The rotten oligarchs that came out as winners were Russian citizens that took advantage of Russian errors and corruption. Putin put an end to all that.

    Replies: @fran, @hillaire

The harm was done by locals. The rotten oligarchs that came out as winners were Russian citizens that took advantage of Russian errors and corruption.

It was heavy corruption on both sides that facilitated the botched privatization and asset stripping. The would-be oligarchs were financed by western capital to circumvent regulations on foreign ownership of state assets. As the population rapidly fell into poverty during the transition period, foreign money (using the Russian-Jewish oligarchs as a conduit) bought up all the citizen-owned shares of state assets for pennies on the dollar as people were desperate for money to survive. Much of the foreign capital that enabled this predatory privatization came directly from the US government via misappropriated loans and grants. Ultimately greed was the chief culprit, but it was western interests that enabled the exploitative opportunities in the first place.

Or was attacking both China and Iran the plan from the beginning?

Sure, that’s possible—there’s no way of knowing. And I’d like to reemphasize that I’ve just pointed to Pompeo and Bolton as the most likely suspects because of their background and position in the national security apparatus. Maybe both of them were involved or maybe neither. Clearly the Deep State Neocons in the Trump administration would most likely have been the ones responsible.

My central point is that there’s very strong evidence that some elements of the US government had clear foreknowledge of the Covid outbreak, as well as the means, motive, and opportunity to launch the attacks, with everything else being merely speculation.

Here’s an important example. Just prior to the Wuhan outbreak, Robert Kadlec, America’s foremost biowarfare advocate, spent eight months running a major federal/state exercise on how to protect America from infection if a dangerous respiratory virus like Covid suddenly appeared in China. However, that doesn’t necessarily indicate that Kadlec himself was aware of the looming Covid outbreak; one of the conspirators could have just convinced him to organize the exercise.

Reminder: in gay countries, men can't be friends, because normal expressions of affection look homosexual. As a result, men can't express affection for each other, don't feel affection for each other, and don't become friends.

It's normal in most of the world for male friends to hold hands. It isn't normal in America, not because they're gay, but because you are. Why are pro athletes allowed to smack each other on the bum? Because they're especially not-gay. There's almost no chance a gay can be competitive, so they stop worrying; they get anti-perverted and partially cured of oversexualization.

Unlike most American anti-human culture, you can't just not be gay. You have to go full Amish: never watch TV, never read American books, and don't associate with anyone who does.

It's important that gays get shoved deep into the closet, so that homosexuality is completely unthinkable, so that the 98.5% of men who aren't gay can be friends with each other. I would personally allow a gay neighbourhood, but it would practically be a black-ops site.

And though it’s technically possible that a missile strayed way off course and hit the wrong target, they’re accurate to within a few feet and have redundant guidance so it’s unlikely. Americans have no idea what the ruble going up or down even means beyond a social-status halo effect. Large numbers better numbers, right?

If the ruble went down then Russia, as an export economy, would make more money. The stuff they sell to each other would be unaffected. Since they're mostly self-sufficient it's easy to argue that the ruble getting "strong" is actually bad for them.

Nobody knows who is actually betting up the ruble or why they're doing so.

That said, I'll guess that, coincidentally, the ruble going up is actually good. If Russians export less stuff they will keep more stuff for themselves. Real wealth = stuff, not banknotes. Higher ruble lets them import more. Trade "deficits" make your country richer.

'Germany has this kind of ghost hanging over it.' -- A Anglin

No kidding: it's called occupation, now in its 77th year.

What kind of rich, cucked country allows a foreign military occupation to continue three generations after the war ended?

    A gelded one, obviously.

Here's the line-up at the ridiculous G7 meeting underway in Germany:

    1. USA
    2. Canada
    3. United Kingdom
    4. France
    5. Germany [US occupied]
    6. Italy [US occupied]
    7. Japan [US occupied]

So, three countries of British heritage; three Axis bad boys starkly occupied by US troops; and égoïste France, unoccupied but still plainly pussywhipped by NATO.

Ultimately, the G7 is just the US-fuckin-A, narcissistically admiring in the mirror its fading virility, to huzzahs from its weak-sister cultural cousins and vanquished sock puppets.

My mind is continually blown by how the miserably cucked Germans, Japs and Koreans (+ the EU) have been so emasculated by their military occupiers, to the point where families have multigenerational father-son traditions where the father tries to explain to his son why thousands of armed foreigners with criminal tendencies and social anxiety occupy their country and even built their own cities, schools, libraries, restaurants, and all the comforts of home. These occupiers routinely murder entire vacationing families of locals (Aviano), regularly get belligerent drunk and rape young women, fight anyone who looks at them the wrong way, and yet demand (and receive) unquestioned loyalty, respect, and enthusiastic ass kissing on demand.

The locals have become so emasculated that they’ve evolved jewish kvetching & coping mechanisms to justify a permeant army occupation of foreign forces.

True, but there is some nuance to your comment.
    1) The Japanese know they will be torn to bloody shreds when capitalism collapses and Americans leave (they will become known as East Korea forevermore).
    2) Most of Americans in Japan actually populate the island of Okinawa which isn't Japanese to begin with (it's Ryukyuan), so they don't have pity for them.

But Koreans? They were genocided by the Americans in the 1940s-50s, with stories such as this. It's even on Wikipedia (a third of Jeju's population exterminated).

The husband of her friend, Ri San Sen, was beaten up by Americans because he hid his wife from them. An inhabitant of Pyongyang…confirmed this statement. Many other residents of Pyongyang recounted the atrocities by Americans. Kim Sun Ok, 37, the mother of four children [who had been] killed by a bomb, stated that she was evacuated in the village by the Americans, among them the secretary of the local women’s organization. The Americans led her naked through the streets and later killed her by pushing a red-hot iron bar into her vagina. Her small son was buried alive.

Similar punishments were frequently given to women who resisted rape. In Mih Yen Ri, a small village, three women who defended themselves against rape by American soldiers had their breasts cut off. Hot irons were thrust into their vaginas which killed them. This was reported by the commission, although it was not an exceptional case.

As I don't, unlike you and hundreds of op Ed writers under pressure, have to produce sagacious seeming words evincing great confidence, I am willing to maintain doubt and uncertainty where that is the nearest that, in all honesty, one can get to truth.

Whether any settlement that involves Ukraine losing territory could be debised and publicised so as to not ne seen as a defeat for the US and the West I doubt, because I doubt the intelligence and diligence of American government officials. It would require strenuous thought and stamina.

Perceived failure on Ukraine might I suppose enable the US to retreat from the world apart from the continuing mutual benefits of globalisation and begin to restore the prosperity for all Americans that reduction of the MIC and foreign entanglements might allow if the $US didn't lose its exceptional privilege. But what of the rest of the world? Australia might recover its old relationship with China whereby it continues to prosper as Chia's most efficient quarry. But one thing would be near certain. No one would stand up to autocrats, jowever cruel or villainously kleptocratic with any trust in support from the US.

And yet,and yet. Uncertainty rigns. Who has considered the meaning, implications doubt consequences of so many smart educated Russians, especially from Moscow and St Petersburg, taking their talents to the West? It would indeed be naive to think a few threads of discussion on UR or even the whole of Facebook or Twtter or YouTube would be certain to cover everything.

Anyway, you cannot be convicted of betraying your country or civilisation. Here's a timely video and print article I just came across from Mark Weber that gives a historian's account of Hitler's preventative attack on the SU:

Why Hitler Struck Against Soviet Russia
    Mark Weber – Video
    https://altcensored.com/watch?v=TUDx70kRXtU

Important evidence has come to light in recent decades that shatters the familiar, endlessly repeated view that Hitler, bent on world conquest, launched a treacherous surprise attack against a peaceful Soviet Union. By June 1941 Soviet dictator Stalin had built the world's largest military machine, and had deployed an enormous strike force in readiness for a massive attack against Germany that would roll on to overwhelm central and western Europe. Hitler's “Barbarossa” attack, say a growing number of historians in Russia, Germany and other countries, was actually a preventive war to forestall an imminent Soviet strike. This 50-minute video received more than 220,000 “views” before it was “restricted” by YouTube in late 2017.

Why Germany Attacked the Soviet Union
Mark Weber – Institute for Historical Review
    http://ihr.org/other/WhyGermanyStruckUSSR

As dawn was breaking on Sunday morning, June 22, 1941, military forces of Germany, Finland and Romania suddenly struck against the Soviet Union. The stunning news of this attack was announced to the world by German radio at 5:30 that Sunday morning, when Reich Minister Joseph Goebbels broadcast the text of a proclamation by Adolf Hitler to the German people that laid out his reasons for the historic offensive. Following that was the broadcast of Germany’s declaration of war against the Soviet Union. This was in the form of a diplomatic note to the Soviet government. Because Hitler’s proclamation and the German Foreign Office declaration explain at some length the reasons and motives for the fateful decision to strike against the USSR, these are documents of historic importance.

As I sense that you are open to discovering complexities in Russia-Ukraine histories and relationship that, like most Westerners and, I daeesay everyone represented on a UR thread should admit to k owing little of at least till recently I proffer a couple of pieces of probably true information that you might want to consider.

First is the plain assertion that Mearsheimer is on the Koch payroll.

Second is to remember that Ukrainiams fought a civil war in 1917-1920 to prevent incorporation in the successor to the Czar's empire. Add that to the Holomodor and ot is ludicrous to dismiss the probability at least of Ukrainians not being any more to identify politically or culturally with Russia than they were when more than 90% voted to be a separate nation in the early the will and the arms 90s. My information is that local separatists supporting independence or joining Russia for the Donbass never mustered much more than the proverbial number that could fit into a telephone box. I don't assert that in the usual UR style but it seems likely to be truer than the idea that there were a lot of Russian speakers in the Donbas that had the will and the weapons to start a rebellion over a crooked President taking off dor the protection of Putin once it was clear that the Ukrainian Parliament was going to vote to oust him.
