Meritocracy sounds like a nice idea, and when I was young I was all for it.

But.

How do you measure "merit"? First you would have to decide what it is; then you would have to devise ways of testing or measuring it; and then of course you would have to stop cheating.

None of those three steps are easy, and some may not even be possible.

To my mind Mr Unz and Mr Kennedy have a great deal of merit, which should be recognised and if possible rewarded. But most of all, it should give them credibility.

Can it be coincidental that almost everyone in positions of great power and influence today seems utterly lacking in merit and credibility? Compare, for instance, Dr Fauci with Mr Kennedy or that admirable Nobel Prize winner Dr Kary Mullis - who invented PCR and warned that it could never be used as a diagnostic test.

It's a problem going back to Plato and beyond that people tend to succeed (if they have enough ability) at those things which they practice. It's the "10,000 hours" idea.

Now most really excellent people spend their 10,000 (or even 100,000) hours playing music, or researching, or doing useful work. But those who become rich and powerful tend to devote themselves wholly to the pursuit of money and power. Plato pointed out that the last people we should want to be ruled by are those who want to rule. Ideally, we should pick out those who have REAL merit and require them to rule for a period, rather as young men are sometimes conscripted to the army or other forms of public service.

So right there, in plain sight, founders of the third government to rule Americans (British, Articles and Constitutional), produced a document called "The Constitution of the United States of America" and included in it, ratification. Does this inform a process to explain how successive groups of people, can become founders in new designs of better government? Maybe the reason the existing constitution does not allow the governed people to propose and vote on amendments is because it is so easy to just change the entire government, the constitutional founders did not consider it necessary for the people to vote on adopting the constitutional government? The constitution completely changed the existing national government in America, but the name of both national governments remained the same.

A new government without a name change; merely change the name of the proposal documents that explain the new government?

The solution the constitutional founders adopted, when the existing government failed to satisfy their needs was to appoint a few representatives, send them to a meeting; tell the attendees to conjure up a new idea in government, reduce that new idea into document form, name the proposed government the same as the old government, and define within the new document, the means by which the proposed new form of government described within the new document (constitution) c/b ratified.

When the appointed representatives returned home, the representatives asked those who appointed them to be representatives at Philadelphia, to ratify the government, the appointed representatives designed. Approval (ratification) was granted, and presto a new government began<=under the same name as the old government.

Gee can changing the form of government be that easy?

1. Founder documents. Proposals for new forms of government, with associated procedures and rules are produced into documents. Documents proposing new governments become founder documents after their contents are ratified?

2. Ratification. The scissors, which cut, divide and separate different governments into governing periods. Three governments ruled America, but they are separated by periods. The British Colonial government (ended 1777), the Articles of Confederation Government (1776-1788), and the Constitutional Government( 1788 up to day).

3. How does ratification come about? A group reduces its ideas for a new government. into a document which outlines how the proposal is to be ratified. (in the case of the constitution, that authority was the 9 (nine) ex British colonies, now states dividing the America people into parts; in the case of the Articles of Confederation the winner of the American revolution was the authority, but who granted the revolutionaries the right to wage war and to govern, was it the same group that ratified the constitution? ).

4. (The Articles of Confederation) was thrown out and replaced by a document produced by a newer set of founders (The Constitution of the United States of America is that new document) . Ratification was enough.

5. What happened in 1788? Am event of ratification as described in Article VII the document called the Constitution of the United States Of America, replaced the founder document called the Articles of Confederation of the United States of America.

6. Who wanted this change to take place. The oligarch owners of the powerful corporations and slave staffed plantations?

7. What are the requirements for ratification to be effective? Apparently to accomplish replacing one document with another, requires only that the proposal document say how replacement will be accomplished. Ratification then, is a fancy name for approval and authorization to proceed.

8. If a new group were to appoint new representatives, and the representatives were to hold a meeting similar to the 1787 Philadelphia. PA, (constitutional hall experience), and as a consequence of the meeting the representatives produced their proposal, for a new government, including how it would be ratified, into a proposal document <=would then the ratification process and ratifying authority be "SUFFICIENT"as stated in the proposal document ? That's how the constitution got ratified?

For example, suppose a group drafted a proposal for a new government, and named the proposal "A Democracy for the American People (DAP)", and presented it to the authority who appointed the group for approval (ratification) would that proposal become the new government? I don't think so.. ?

Suppose the DAP proposed to rename the government to something like The Corporation that Protects the American Democracy (CPAD for short). Would renaming the USA to CPAD matter to the ratification process? Maybe?

Hopefully all ratified proposals will prove to be complete enough to answer all questions?

I still hold with the "lab accident" theory, but as events unfold, I'm starting to think the "great reset" or other conspiracy theories may not be quite as crackpot as they sounded at first. If he had he would understand that the premise that he states in that the unvaccinated are the sole threat to the population is not based on any facts. It may be that his only research was a Biden vaccine speech that was whispered to him at the airport.

The fact is that the vaccinated are just as much of a threat to the vaccinated as are the unvaccinated to the vaccinated. Both the vaccinated and the unvaccinated for one day before symptoms and for a few days with symptoms can infect someone else with flu like symptoms. If that person has something peculiar about them, that on average, two thousand other people don't have, that person can die.

In order to save that 1 person out of two thousand everyone should isolate themselves from everyone. That way nobody will infect somebody else with Covid if germ theory is true. Since this kind of action will cause death to many through other causes perhaps the people should just carry on as if there is another kind of flu out there and weigh the risk and act accordingly.

If you think the risk is too high for you, stay in your house. If you think you are hardly at risk then do as you always have. If you are somewhere between the two types take precautions to limit your interactions with others.

Though I am not a doctor (of course) some ivermectin, D, C and zinc on hand would place most people in the hardly at risk group.

Unfortunately, the PTB and the dumbed down are not going to allow this in favor of some kind of chaos. This will lead to absolute power for the PTB and the peoples absolute enslavement to corrupted tyranny.

It isn't just the risk of dying that is the problem. I have a friend -- in her 50s and in good health -- who caught the bug right at the beginning of the pandemic and was seriously ill for six months. That sort of thing is a lot more common than actually dying. In the past, if a man was raping and beating a woman, especially in public with witnesses, it’d be seen as fine to kill him to save the woman. Now, it is not.
