I agree one hundred percent. Probably the best hope for the survival of this country as a liberal (in the old sense of the term), constitutional, democratic republic would be a military coup by a truly patriotic cabal of field rank officers (majors, captains lieutenant colonels, and colonels) whose sole intent is to restore law and order in this country and oversee a major reformation of the political system, a re-tuning of the constitution, and a rewriting of the USC, the CFR, and all federal judicial precedents back to the time of Madison v Marbury. Unfortunately men of the caliber of George Washington are very rare on the ground and that process would take at least several decades. Ultimately, I don't realistically see any good detour from the path our country is now on.

I am beginning to think a real civil war is inevitable in this country. It will be partially race-based and it will be nasty in the extreme.

Those historians who call(ed) our soi disant Civil War the War Between The States got it right. That war involved states with real armies fighting battles under legal rules of engagement. The fighting was for the most part restricted to limited areas until late in the War the North began its very modern policy of total war against the seceding States. The ugliness of real civil wars, e.g, those in seventeenth century England, and twentieth century Mexico, Ireland and Spain, was avoided except in very limited areas, e.g., parts of Missouri.

A real civil war in this country -- and I think one may be coming -- will involve wide-spread sporadic acts of mass violence and intense planned and targeted violence. Think race riots except as battles. Think terrorist attacks coming from who knows where; maybe targeting particular races; but just as for obscure and unknown reasons. Think large-scale attacks on organized government, infrastructure, and the staff and property of organizations seen as being affiliated with one side or the other.

The final alliances will probably include a losing side consisting of most Negroes; far left Whites and other races; and a weird alliance of current Hispanic leaders and the Hispanic mob element we currently see attacking Trump. They will face off against an alliance of Whites, the majority of the Hispanic population who are committed to working and leading some semblance of a middle class life in this country, and most Asians and other races. These two latter groups generally despise the Negro population. However, the lines will be blurry. There will be a lot of collateral damage. Ultimately the White alliance will win.

As in the aftermath of Spain's civil war, reprisals against the losing side will be severe and the government will be changed in ways to assure their permanent suppression. Many of the Hispanic and White losers will be hunted down and killed or imprisoned under harsh conditions for very long periods. Many will flee the country. Negroes constitute about 12% of the population, roughly 35 million people; too many for a final solution, even if the victors could stomach this. But I suspect that the country's current Negro leadership will ultimately achieve their wish and Negroes will be granted a permanent, and very special legal and political status in this country; a helot status, probably re-enforced with very strict eugenics laws designed to gradually remove the race from the national population.
