RSSWhile technically a true statement, it’s more of a semantic difference.
Pneumonia is a life threatening condition along with the associated opportunistic infections. And it’s more or less directly caused by influenza. If someone pushed another person off a cliff, you would say that it was murder, rather than pointing out that the fundamental force of gravity and weakness of the falling man’s bones was what did him in.
For a more medical example, it’s similar to the case of HIV/AIDS. By itself, HIV is a virus that gradually wipes out the immune system over a decade or so. In all cases, it’s either an opportunistic infection or cancer that actually shuts the body down permanently. You can trace the causes as far back as you wish, but the HIV virus is the first pathogen entering the body that ultimately results in its demise.
Well that’s the very reason that Trump will be exonerated in the Senate. They know that if they vote to remove, Trump will likely win the 2020 election by a landslide, and then there’s approximately a 100% chance they’ll be primaried and lose.
The only possible reason to imagine this would be if a large enough group thought that half a year of president Pence would be enough to get us into war with Iran, which there’s a good chance it would, but I doubt half the Republican senate is willing to commit career suicide to get that.
Agreed, it certainly is quite gross that a small group of individuals could siphon off and tank the productivity of hundreds of millions of hardworking people. But I’m sure a site like MSNBC or Huffington Post is more your speed. They have a plethora of much better “content” for you.
The usual suspects decided he shouldn’t have a proper defense, and banned any online crowdfunding attempts.
“He cannot be drafted into the US armed services involuntarily.”
This is false. Almost all males including most classes of immigrants (including undocumented) are required to register for Selective Service, and can be called in case of a draft. In fact having registered for SS when first arriving is a requirement for naturalization.
America being attacked by its “ally” is bad enough. Why include blatant lies about the event? It just makes the author look dishonest and weakens the overall argument.
Interesting article. I wonder if you’d be aware that in Japan, “digiporn” as you’ve described is more or less legally accepted. Hundreds of pornographic comic books featuring clearly underage characters are released and sold each year, often online. There is also a large market on video games featuring underage characters in sexual situations. Most are Visual Novels (basically interactive voiced picture books), though some are full 3D sex simulators, with characters’ every body facet customizable to your liking. VR interaction is just on the horizon for many of these as well. Only a few of these ever generate much controversy.
I haven’t the time to research this personally, but I wonder how the rates of child sex abuse in Japan compare to the rest of the western world in light of this apparent acceptance of virtual child pornography.
