People subconsciously attribute the heroic qualities of a fictional character to the actor who portrays that character. It was not a spontaneous coincidence that Zelensky ran for president after starring in this show with precisely the same storyline. This was a carefully planned manipulation of the people in Ukraine.

My only hard disagreement is the conviction Russia must conquer all of Ukraine to find a lasting resolution. That sounds like the ultimate nightmare scenario: an immiserated, deindustrialized country with enormous territory to occupy on their front step chock-full of extremists and locals hellbent on vengeance. If Putin and his inner circle have ascertained victory in the east is within their grasp, then they probably are thinking about how to avoid getting mired in another Afghanistan. In 1837 the now long-forgotten Alvan Stewart theorized that the Framers slipped into the Constitution subtle language that validated the legal personhood of the slave, and thought it was placed there for future opponents of slavery to use when the time was right. My mother was a career teacher/counselor. She often said that when they tested 1st graders in Texas, some didn’t speak good Spanish or English, just a mixture. In 1990 or 1991, after lying about it for fifty years and blaming it on the Germans, the Soviet Union admitted they were the guilty party that murdered about 15,000 Poles (military officers and intellectuals) in 1939 or 1940 at the Katyn massacre near Smolensk. Gorbachev turned over the documents they had relating to the atrocity to Poland and admitted the USSR committed the crime. Lincoln was the father of America’s 2nd Revolution that fought several oligarchical powers at once. On the battlefield of Gettysburg, he established a government of the People, by the People, and for the People; Where the elections are known and respected as belonging to the People, not the Money Power. I was referring to the fact that all bolt action rifles of that era acquired the generic ‘Mauser’ name, didn’t necessarily have to be a Mauser.
