RSSSomehow I think your narrative is best placed in the wishful thinking tray.
I would urge any commenters to read the full Huawei Indictments.

it catalogues in unrelenting detail the serial dishonesty and cover ups Huawei has employed over the last 13 years. It includes the easily proven attempts to obscure it’s actions through subsidiaries, and making false representations to Banks internationally.

This one systematically shows decades of intellectual property theft, midnight break ins to steal tech at conventions, breaking of agreements and outright copying of patented tech.
They both make an interesting read and are the tip of the spear China has employed over two or more decades to save themselves billions if not trillions in technology research and development – They just stole what they wanted and Huawei is conglomeration of much of it.
First, if Huawei, or China, or anyone else outside US wants to trade with Iran, it is none of f...king business for US government.Second, even if Meng / Huawei lies about it to a bank outside US, it is also none of the US government business. Those are called extra-territorial jurisdiction, and it is a waste of tax-payers money. US government has thousands more important things to do than going half-way around the world to interfere into other countries.Third, many other companies in US, EU, OECD, etc also covertly or overtly traded with Iran. None has their CEO or CFO arrested, lest alone arrested outside US.Fourth, as Trump admitted, this is pure political play to be used as a trade bargain. As for the IP theft, it should be a matter of issues among those private companies. High tech industries are full of controversial, ambiguous and long-term disputes in IPs. For example, in the 1980s to 1990s, Apple had a long series of disputes with Microsoft regarding their graphical user interface (GUI) and multi-media technologies (e.g. Quicktime, etc). The government is never competent enough nor necessary to be involved in those type of disputes.

Snark much!
I am not from the US, but I can say that the vast majority of people in my country are unhappy about China and it’s behaviour surrounding the CoronaVirus. China is agressively asserting itself to become the number one world power. However it shows immaturity and petulance when it’s diplomats threaten countries who do not comply with it’s propaganda. Worse, when they threaten countries for simply urging China to open up to allow international investigations as to the origins of the virus in Wuhan, Frankly, regardless of the origin of the virus China has set itself back 20 years in terms of image and acceptance around the world. China has shown the world it’s hidden face, and it’s ugly.
Also, regards the overall tone of the article, it gives me no pleasure to write this but I note today that Russian cases of CoronaVirus have surged in the last few days. This is a global tragedy and as has been lately proven time and again, those who politicize or look for advantage can soon find this virus pays no heed to their wishcast narratives. Hubris it appears is not limited to the US east coast elites.
You can't even see that you are one of those who politicize it by criticizing China in your previous paragraph.
