RSSRegarding the question of whether boys will be into the Rey character: anecdotally, my two oldest boys, ages 9 and 8, have not once mentioned Rey since seeing the movie a week ago. They have referenced Poe, Finn, Chewie, Bb8, Kilo, and of course Luke, but its like Rey wasn’t even in the movie. FWIW, they also have never gotten into the two Cartoon Network SW shows, Clone Wars and Rebels, which i would have though would be right up their alley. I’ve seen them watch bits of it, but it has never held their interest for some reason. After seeing their reaction to Rey, I’m strating to wonder if maybe the reason is because those shows are so SJW trying to cram the insuferable Asoka down their throat…and the other day i saw 5 minutes of Rebels and more than half of the Rebel officers in that particular adventure were women, including the hot shot pilot.
Incidentally, my 6 year old girl shows little interest in Force Awakens, despite Rey being so prominently featured in Disney channel ads, she didn’t even ask to come with us to watch the movie.
Dan’s comment above is right. I think somewhere in the neighborhood of 20-25 percent of students in PR attend private school (compared to what, 10 percent in the mainland?). Not sure how much that might be skewing the results, but it has to be at least a little bit.
My experience was that anybody who could afford it would go to private school. There are a lot of them and they are pretty affordable. My classmates were probably around 60 percent solid middle class, 30 percent lower middle class and maybe 10 percent upper middle and above.
