To you question, no, I used to subscribe to Anglophone pro-Russia commentators and they never show these images. They unironically believe Russia is killing Ukrainians 10:1 or something and post a handful of Ukrainian corpses to show this, citing these photos as proof of them being decimated. These videos serve as a good litmus test. I’ve simply never seen videos of fields littered with hundreds of bodies like this. Recently I saw 12 dead Ukrainians in Marinka and that was touted as some sort of massive loss by pro-Russians.

I tend to think the casualties on both sides are roughly equal.

Ukrainians are simply fighting for their land, I doubt the care about glory or joining NATO or whatever.

Russians on the other hand are mostly fighting for money as the pay is not bad. But overall I would say Russians are dying for the interests of China. I am actually astounded that Russia is struggling so much to subdue Ukraine, in spite of all the restrictions placed on Ukraine. I never claimed to know the definitive death toll for both sides, I did however provide two very reliable sources which give us an idea, unlike your source which was just text on a screen without any documentary evidence to back up the claim of 494,000 published obituaries. If these obituaries were really published, it would be trivial to provide a link to the website for each of them.

Ukraine would have ‘collapsed’ long ago without Western military and financial support, so this may be why ‘Russia fans’ have been predicting that — perhaps they also thought the West would develop a moral conscience and push for negotiations (a forlorn hope obviously) — Ukraine has virtually no autonomous high tech weapons industry, and it is not unfair to say it is almost completely dependent on the West, which in one of the most immoral acts of my lifetime has stoked the slaughter there, justifying it with absurd Cold War and domino theory style rhetoric.

The recent militarily pointless incursion into the Kursk region shows how irresponsible the Kiev regime is, and how little regard they have for the lives of their soldiers, which are being utterly wasted.

None of this suggests a 5:1 ratio, filming the same national cemetaries in Kyiv or Kharkiv from different angles doesn’t make each video new the web scraping algorithms which find the obituaries of dead soldiers is by far the most rigorous indicator of deaths, and it shows the ratio of deaths is nowhere near as lopsided as Russia or Ukraine cheerleaders would have you believe.
