Quality of life doesn't appear to be a consideration. Immigrants are a drain on the public fisc. Japan has an aging population and zero immigration. But because it's a cohesive society their quality of life hasn't dropped even if GDP has , and only minimally.

Further, the same elites know as we become a more automated and mechanized economy, there's less of a need for mass unskilled labor. That will only be more of a drag on the economy. Now if you want cheap lawn care, nannies and country club greens fees, illegals are great. But that again benefits elites, not the country as a whole. Up until 1986, working poor and young people entering the job market did those jobs.

As to an aging population, thanks to the less than brilliant work by the Biden Administration, lots of those aging folks are not going to be retiring as their 401Ks and IRAs take a beating. What the elites won't tell you is they want the illegals to keep the SSI Ponzi scheme afloat. In other words, if GDP goes up by 2% in nominal terms but the rate of inflation is also 2%, then the REAL RATE OF GROWTH is ZERO for that particular year.
 

Bottom Line: For most of the years post the 2008 GFC the U.S economy averaged around 2.5% growth - allegedly.
So, in many of those years the nominal growth may have been 4%, and the government CLAIMED (through their bogus stats), that the inflation rate was 2.5%.
Therefore, 4% - 2.5% = 1.5 % declared growth rate.

But IN REALITY, the true inflation rate was DOUBLE the 2.5% official rate.
In that case, 4% (nominal growth) - 5% (TRUE inflation rate) = MINUS 1% growth actually recorded for the economy.
 

ie: The U.S has been in recession for MOST OF THE LAST 14 years because the government announced growth for many quarters when in fact there was CONTRACTION taking place.
