Tyler Cowen quotes from a new study testing the relationship between grades and delayed sexual activity.Last December I passed a paper along to Razib showing that high-school age adolescents with higher IQs and extremely low IQs were less likely to have had first intercourse than those with average to below average intelligence. (i.e. for males...
  • I think that many of the comments made are valid ones. One thing came to my mind as I read this article, and that was a conversation that I had with a co-worker several years ago. We were both single, and intelligent undergrads that had a very difficult time finding and forming strong relationships with the opposite sex. (I’m female, he, um male) We were talking about this one day at the university park, when it occurred to me that for ‘average’ people it is easier to find a mate because the playing field is quite made for them. That is, MOST people are average – that is what average is, therefore there are more people with whom one will feel compatible with. As far as people who are above average, the playing field becomes more complicated, and there are fewer people with whom you can find companionship. It is also quite possible that the things that above average people are looking for in a companion/intimate partner become more complicated with each incremental increase in IQ. Perhaps the need for common interests and philosophical views are more specific? Certainly, even ‘average’ people seek mates that are like them in someway. Seeking such traits sorts out people that are not an optimal genetic fit for procreation. This would explain why people with high IQ’s are often viewed as ‘less desirable’ by social norms and why high IQ men are having more sex with prostitutes (so as not to become formally involved with their partners). I think it would be interesting to see a study that correlates sexual activity, IQ/careers of both partners, and IQ/careers of their subsequent children.

  • RE: your previous post mentioning Jason Malloy’s look into the GSS data and the decline of the male homosexual.

I was looking at mortality tables in the US for the major infectious pathogens before and after vaccines became available.

The flu vaccine’s use grew widespread in the late ’80s-90s in the US. Maybe the decline in gay males is related to the increase in immunization against influenza.

After all, they did determine that H1N1 caused an increase in cases of narcolepsy a couple of years ago.

I doubt the flu is the culprit. Influenza is so common that you'd expect homosexuality to be much more frequent than it is.

  • I meant to provide this link with the above post:

    http://healthland.time.com/2011/08/23/the-curious-link-between-h1n1-flu-and-narcolepsy/

At first, the increase in cases there was blamed on the H1N1 vaccine (of course, the vaccine crazies), but Dr. Minot of Stanford, the world’s foremost expert on narcolepsy, took off for Asia to investigate for himself, and he and his team concluded that the increase in cases was among those who hadn’t yet gotten any vaccine.

Who knows just how many chronic pathologies are triggered by a flu virus. Too bad we don’t have any data about how many males in Canada/US born around 1915-1920 wound up gay ( the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic). If we did, we could compare that data to a comparable period of infants-toddlers in years not hit heavily by the flu.

People suffering from narcolepsy have the same HLA type just as a high % of rheumatoid arthritis sufferers have a common HLA profile.

Have there ever been studies that seek to find out if a high percentage of gay men have the same HLA? If so, that would surely point to an inherent susceptibility to something environmental.

Their website features an astronaut and takes 45 seconds to load the page on my fast PC with a fast connection. She "served as a student ambassador for NASA." Is that like a spokes-model?

Some observers have been critical of the company's ultrasound technology, stating that uBeam's claims are unlikely to be achievable within safe power limits.

The intensity of the proposed system announced in November 2015[4] is at or above most peak occupational exposure limits, and sufficient to kill an unshaven mouse within minutes from thermal effects.

Yeah yeah but who leaves their mice unshaven these days? Within minutes? Why are the mice standing still in the path of a electricity beam for minutes? Why are they standing in the path of progress?

The company states that the beam will cut out automatically if it is intercepted by objects other than the receiver, ensuring safety.

That's all I needed to hear, the power cords in my house are just hideous and I also have an awful unshaved mouse infestation. Having my lights and appliances randomly cut out all the time whenever something gets between their receiver and the house's uBeams is a small price to pay.

Pederasty will be acceptable provided it involves boys. 20 year old young men with 15 year old girl friends will still be acceptable targets for law enforcement and feminist ire. In fact, in the typical leftist bait and switch, they might start cracking down harder on that sort of pairing among young heteros that has been normal for most of human history. The young male scapegoats, I suspect, will be overwhelmingly white, because whites have agency. I highly doubt the Latino or Muslim community will be targeted. It just so happens I watched the SVU episode, "Girl Dishonored" with my wife about a week ago. Episode concerns a frat where the guys get sorority pledges drunk and then gang rape them, on a bed, three at a time. Since most of the later Law and Order franchise episodes are tied to current events, I just assumed this episode was "inspired" by the UVA rape. Little did I know that this was the inspiration for the UVA rape.

I can just imagine watching an SVU episode and having one of my daughters say, "That happened to me." I don't think we'd be watching the rest of the episode.

The reason Sabrina stopped being a good reporter is because she fell in love with the story. It's that simple. She could have just written off the six months or so she had invested so far and done something else. But she wanted this story. When she started fact checking, and querying Jackie on her sources, that's when she found out that Jackie was adamant about not naming names or getting her three former friends involved. She should have quit instantly.

“The reason Sabrina stopped being a good reporter is because she fell in love with the story.”

She could never have been a good reporter because she wasn’t interested in reporting a story based on facts.. Her interest was in crafting a narrative based on anti-white male prejudice.

She fell in love with the story because of her animus toward white males, specifically white frat boys.

  • Ten years ago (this was in high school), I was strangely unaffected by the mandatory classroom viewing of The Killing Fields. The movie was a staple in government school curricula then and I’m sure it still is now. I then read Schanberg’s book out of additional curiosity, became horrified, read “Year Zero” by that French journalist, became even more horrified, and so on and so forth. But I didn’t dwell on it by any means. Thus Schanberg’s morality, rare courage and honesty of reporting (qualities you can’t take for granted in the current year) remained basically unknown to me in that interim period before I read his shocking McCain expose. It physically hurt to read the truth about McCain and the POW cover-up after logging untold hours in ’08 volunteering – in good faith – for his useless, retarded campaign.

It is so unbelievably shocking, but not at all surprising, that the quislings and pseudo-intellectual liars in the MSM (pretending to be journalists) would work to totally cover up the basic truths to which Sydney Schanberg wrote and affirmed.

Which is why Eric Holder's/Bill Clinton's FBI buried the Iraqi terrorism angle of John Doe #2 (Hussain al-Hussani and his local support network) - the political attack narrative of right wing militias and talk radio wouldn't have stuck if the meticulous evidence put together by Jayna Davis in "The Third Terrorist" was revealed in the FBI investigation. Davis intimates that McVeigh & Nichols got material bomb making knowledge from that connection. Having control of the megaphone matters.

The investigation was political from the beginning. It would've made the election of Bill in '96 much more problematic had it been revealed some rogue Iraqis who made it through our "Iraqi immigrant refugee program" after Gulf War 1 had snuck through and killed 180+ Americans. The other later reveals, that the FBI/SPLC had been monitoring the camp at Elohim City and likely had advance notice of the bomb, further indicts the admin and Deep State.

    - Hillary looked pretty healthy. She wasn't wearing a collar, and her neck looked normal; I didn't see her cough; and she stood without trouble.

    - Hillary might be the Elizabeth Holmes of politics: smart, female, loved by Silicon Valley, good with scripted presentations, good at raising money, but bad with technology and bad at accomplishing anything substantive.

    - Hillary has a talent for answering questions. Even when she's asked about some disaster she caused, she can rattle off a prepared 400 word response. And by the end of it you're so bored, you forgot what the question was.

OT except for Marie: Well, my sons and most of their friends all come from happy, parents-married, households. I have often talked to these HS/college kids why it is out of the question to even date in college. They all say:

    1. Too dangerous because of false accusations by women.
    2. There is too much pressure by women for a committed relationship and you don't get a chance to figure out if you are compatible - and false accusations may follow.
    3. Guys feel young and don't want to be tied down since having children seems like it is so far away - so, yeah, you're right about the divorce statistics...these guys know the 50/50...and they don't want to jump into a relationship without intense scrutiny.
    4. Women are constantly harping about: not enough women in SV, corporations, whatever. This is a major turn-off. Women, particularly college women, are constantly bashing guys. Women in their 30's in the media, especially, are really bashing men - they'll be Cat Ladies in the future.
    5. Guys see that women on campuses, in particular, can never be pleased (and, they expect guys to pay for dinner on a 1st date!) Everything guys do/say, is suspect/will be misconstrued/can be used against them....even if they are innocent. I mean, I think you get Duke Lacrosse and UVA?
6.To many young women seem to be so angry all the time, therefore they are seen as just tedious. This is why European & East Asian women are so sought after...they don't have the hang-ups that American women have. Of course, these are just my observations.

SO, what do the guys do: They join frats; do a lot of sports and intense activities where there is no time for girlfriends; play a lot of video games; hang-out with other guys, exclusively; use porn (this they would never tell me :).

I call this generation the "Entourage" generation: guys who don't want to be tied down, openly admit to being immature, yet somehow girls still find them and want to be with them. Guys don't care if a woman has an Ivy League degree or got her associate's degree from a CC. Men are visual creatures. Compatibility and shared philosophy of life is what they long for.

Also. many mothers don't want their sons to get tangled up with women who come "from broken homes." Of course, there may be some women that aren't messed-up, but it is seen as rare. So, many mothers are fine with their sons not having girlfriends while in their 20's. Some guys do have what I call, f*ck buddies, independent women pursuing their education/careers who may, once they are in their 30's, circle back to them, find those guys from long ago. At least, they know they are compatible and that the sex works. And, presto, both people may have a decent enough income where marriage has a much better chance of working. Divorce (if there is no trauma from death & disease, or alcohol/drug problems) is usually due to bad money situation/expectations and bad/inexperienced/boring sex.

Young people are much more into secrecy than any previous generation. Everything, everything is underground and hidden from parents, administrators, officials - they live through their smart phones. Guys feel that being discreet is a necessity now...it is survival. Being male is attacked by so many people/factions of people/MSM every day. It may be possible that there will be more men who never marry - why bother? This is why my hopes of ever being a grandma seem diminished.

Perhaps even worse, math is “Eurocentric” and needs a major multi-cultural revision!!

Mandatory mathematics re-education camps will begin with the below 2 books (all text from Amazon book descriptions).

Ethnomathematics: Challenging Eurocentrism in Mathematics Education Arthur B. Powell (Editor)

“Presents the emerging field of ethnomathematics from a critical perspective, challenging particular ways in which Eurocentrism permeates mathematics education and mathematics in general.

This collection brings together classic, previously-published articles and new research to present the emerging field of ethnomathematics from a critical perspective, challenging particular ways in which Eurocentrism permeates mathematics education. The contributors identify several of the field's broad themes--reconsidering what counts as mathematical knowledge, considering interactions between culture and mathematical knowledge, and uncovering hidden and distorted histories of mathematical knowledge. The book offers a diversity of ethnomathematics perspectives that develop both theoretical and practical issues from various disciplines including mathematics, mathematics education, history, anthropology, cognitive psychology, feminist studies, and African studies written by authors from Brazil, England, Australia, Mozambique, Palestine, Belgium, and the United States.”

Ethnomathematics: A Multicultural View of Mathematical Ideas by Marcia Ascher

“In this truly one-of-a-kind book, Ascher introduces the mathematical ideas of people in traditional, or "small-scale", cultures often omitted from discussion of mathematics. Topics such as "Numbers: Words and Symbols", "Tracing Graphs in the Sand", "The Logic of Kin Relations", "Chance and Strategy in Games and Puzzles", and "The Organization and Modeling of Space" are traced in various cultures including the Inuit, Navajo, and Iroquois of North America; the Inca of South America; the Malekula, Warlpiri, Maori, and Caroline Islanders of Oceania, and the Tshokwe, Bushoong, and Kpelle of Africa.”

Perhaps “big data” can learn from the small scale mathematics described by Ms. Ascher.

Feminism destroys *everything.* White men have obviously been the target of societal ridicule for decades, and all the while the media and academic frauds push SJW degeneracy nonstop on women who, quite frankly, are not psychologically capable of maintaining their sanity in the midst of hook-up culture.

Probably Exhibit A in that regard would be the Mattress Girl, who is my age and whose familial background is nearly identical to my own (except she’s half-Asian and half-Jewish – I’m WASP) and who, in true SJW fashion so common to my generation, revels in her identity as a ‘woman of color’, a status which supposedly gives her natural moral superiority over all whites and all those who might criticize her ruining the life of an innocent man. She’s the epitome of the narcissistic, raging, semi-literate, totally unbalanced feminist that guys our age must vigilantly watch out for and avoid at all costs – lest they end up in prison with their life ruined. It’s really unbelievable and very disturbing to witness.

You’re right about that anger – it’s always inchaote rage and grievance-mongering that keeps the feminist fires burning. SJWs and feminists are always seething with rage – they’re like volcanos on the constant brink of eruption.

If it’s any consolation to you, my parents feel the same way about my having kids (I’m in my twenties) and are similarly worried about the prospects of meeting future grandchildren. All I can say is: don’t give up hope yet, there’s still time!

I have to post the most insane, SJW-in-academia explanation of the Latinx/Latin@ raging controversy:

“My use of “@” in Latin@ is an effort to be gender inclusive and to move away from the inherent sexism and assumptions of heterosexual normativity in the masculine term, “Latino.” In solidarity with Asencio & Acosta’s (2010) assessment concerning their use of the word, Latina/o, I use Latin@ to “acknowledge equally the experience of women and men in the construction of this diverse and heterogeneous community” (p. 4). Latin@ is also useful for disrupting binary notions of identity cultural production. Some scholars have used other terms to explore these issues. For instance, Rodríguez’s (2003) use of queer Latinidad also provides insight into “the process by which constructions of identity work to constitute one another, emphasizing ‘and’ over ‘is’ as a way to think about difference. So, latinidad is about the ‘dimensions’ or ‘the directions in motion’ of history and culture and geography and language and self-named identities” (p. 22). Similarly, Latin@ Critical Race theorists (Cantú & Fránquiz, 2010) use Latin@ over Latino to center the heterogeneity among those of Latin American heritage and to utilize gender inclusive language. I use Latin@ as an umbrella term which covers groups such as Mexican American/Chican@ males while still acknowledging the unique experiences of this group in comparison to other Latin@s.”

Heck the Ivies routinely graduate morons like Michelle Obama, John Kerry, Bush or Hillary, it's really hard to consider them anything but glorified diploma mills for the elite.

In regards to polite society, who wants to hang around a bunch of pansies and passive-aggressive freaks who secretly despise one another and get their kudos? I wouldn't.

I know all about the insanity of Sweden & Norway. It is all very depressing. Finland is doing a bit better; kicking out migrants/flying them outta there. Some of these tedious people do not even want to stay there since they are not getting decent enough benefits (no family can follow), and are housed way outside of the metropolitan areas, plus unemployment is 10%...and the language is very difficult. The winters are sooo long and dreary.

And, the Finnish men have been getting into fights with bands of migrants. Finnish men are fighting back, and, the pathetic police in Finland have no guns, so it really is mano a mano on the streets - and, Finns have always been good with their hunting knives...and vodka and knives signal trouble. Finnish men have always been considered ruthless, unpredictable, uncouth brutes...I hope they can save the country from immivasion...and kick out everyone of them.

Merkel is now panicking as more and more anti-immigrant parties within the EU are winning, so possibly, increasing seats in parliaments. When a sh*tty country like Sweden sets up the first trauma ward for little, rape-victim boys of horny disgusting, smelly adult male migrants, it deserves to die. Sweden's pretentiousness and long-time, tedious virtue-signaling will doom it. As far as Breivik, well, he has mommy issues , and is probably a sociopath, but there will be more Breiviks popping up. So, there will be blood.

According to Wikipedia, this verse of the song “El Cabron” (1998) by Los Capos is an example of typical narcocorrido subject matter.

    Original Spanish verse:

Desde que yo era chiquillo tenia fintas de cabrón; ya le pegaba al perico, y a la mota con más razón
Es que en mi México lindo ahí cualquiera es cabrón

    Exact English translation:

Ever since I was a lad [child] I had the fame of a badass, already hittin’ the parrot [cocaine] and blowing dope [cannabis] with more reason
It’s because in my beloved Mexico anyone there is a badass.

Bombs away from Major Kong. Very well said!

The difference is the immediacy, because biology--the immigrants reproduce. Imperfect analogy, but immigration is like cancer. Even once you stop the instigation (immigration itself), what's already inside will inevitably kill you without major surgery. You're in a death race. Feminism is more like a chronic condition, heart disease, maybe diabetes. It will eventually waste you away and kill you. But *if* you can change your "regime"--get back to a good diet, exercise--then you can live.

This just shows how nasty "progressivism" is. Progressives create and applaud sub-replacement fertility and their own demise--fine. But on their way out, they insist on dragging in low IQ, "diverse" hostile foreigners to replace themselves. So they attempt to drag us down too. Progressivism is a death cult, but it's practicing *murder*-suicide.

This is why i think talking up

    separation

is important. Not as immediate policy suggestion, but to highlight what's going on. Call the progressives "diversity" bluff. They fundamentally aren't interesting in living in with diversity, in "open societies". If they were then separation and packing all us white "deplorables" off to our own country would be a-ok with them. It isn't, because their interest is not in living with diversity, but making sure that diversity is inflicted on straight white gentiles. Call out what they are doing. "Hey you want to kill yourselves with diversity ... fine! But you have no right to kill those of us who want to live."

Incarceration and fines for so-called "hate speech" directed at entitled and protected groups (I can't say minorities because women are entitled and protected) is already de rigueur in Germany, France, Britain, and Canada. "Hate speech" includes saying something insensitive about a protected group, such as pointing out the average IQ of Blacks or the finer points of the Islamic religion.

We can thank God that we have the First Amendment to our Constitution ... or, we would be in a similar legal fix. But, as James Watson repeatedly rediscovers, social and professional banishment is also a price to pay, even in the United States, as the SJWs sweep our universities, schools, professional organizations, corporations, and government agencies.

Peter Frost, who used to post very insightful articles in the Unz Review, ceased participating this year because the Canadian Human Right Commission (guilty until proven innocent) was hot on his heels.
