Then there's the recent accord between the leaders of eastern Libya and Russia which may possibly toss yet another hat into the ring. After the destruction of their state on behalf of Talmudist French Bank$ters and various other interests who feared the possible potential of a non-usurious currency based on gold and oil being granted to all of Africa; it could be that patriotic Libyans have certain bones to pick.

A gradual tightening of the vise against the bloodthirsty Talmudists is probably the wisest course of action. A sudden ascension of pressure on the Rottenchild Crime Clan's #1 pet project would tend towards a possible nuclear exchange. I agree about a gradual tightening of the vise, with regards to both Israel and the U.S. I recall back when the USSR came apart, there was a real concern that disgruntled commies might push the button in revenge or despair. Serious diplomats worked carefully to reassure the Soviets that no such thing would be necessary. I expect that the rest of the world is willing to let us and our pals sink slowly, for the same reason.

This is actually an improvement in prestige media reporting on the 2020s murder surge in that the sacred name of St. George of Floyd is mentioned in the third paragraph as having something vaguely to do with the huge increase in homicides in 2020.

I take this as a message going out from the regime Mothership ahead of the 2024 election to calibrate this coming summer's riots rather than to replay summer 2020 in full.

My guess is that a substantial degree of the recent reduction in urban gun homicides is the simple result of the most gun-happy denizens of urban America killing one another at such high rates that there were fewer left to continue the greatest-of-all-time numbers into the ensuing years. Note that the criminological theory behind a lot of the proactive policing of the prior decades leading to urban crime reduction is that there is a lot of overlap between likely perpetrators and victims, which is to say that someone likely to get shot is also someone likely to shoot another.

People who fail in training aren’t released from service, they are sent to something more in line with their abilities or with the needs of the service. Even as big a figure of the pop culture as John Lennon couldn't afford today to publicly show support for the Palestinians. If we can't imagine Kanye doing it in this current climate, no reason to believe that Lennon could (or would) either.

In this aspect, Elvis was smart. Don't take a public stand either way and piss off 50% of your audience. Simply can't afford to. And that's not really what you're getting paid to do.

It's when pop culture figures stray from their life's work, and decide that they're gonna say something, and comment on the issues of the day. Again, that's not what they're getting paid to do. They're paid to do their job, period.

It's like, if a manual laborer in the middle of his work suddenly stood up and gave political opinions and didn't shut the F up about it, just kept going and going on.

Honestly. Do your job. It would carry more weight, more cred, to stand up privately for those pet causes that they may have.

Also, don't be that dude who speaks up every single time that there's a new cause, else you can never get off that treadmill. And then the one time you don't get on the bandwagon surrounding the current issue, the rivals will come out vs you, and...careers in the can.

Supposedly, Tommy's younger brother Richard ("Dickie", the one that mom always liked best) was more conservative, so it would appear that all the politicking came mostly from Tommy. Had he only kept his mouth shut, who knows? Perhaps the Smothers Brothers would've weathered the storm and kept their show on the air a lot longer.

Notice: Bob Hope never spoke vs the war or took much of a hard political stance on anything, and he was on the air with his specials for over 40 yrs (made more money than just about any other US comedian in the 20th century).

Hope traveled with the USO to Vietnam to entertain the troops, but so did a number of other anti-war mainstream liberals--they made it clear that they opposed the policy but not the troops who were sent there without a choice in the matter. But Hope accrued some goodwill as he was seen on TV suporting the TROOPS, who were away from their families on Christmas, and not necessarily spouting a pro-war stance, per se. There is a subtle difference.

Bob Hope was more or less quite careful not to express his political opinions too publicly. For the most part, he succeeded. At least until the war became a no go topic for everyone.

"Bob Hope made his many millions in Southern California real estate. His comedy income was just the seed money."

In later years that's correct. Before that, Hope as well as Bing Crosby were the first US entertainers to make over 1 million dollars in annual income that was due to Hollywood. Both men were among the first to do the package deal (e.g. set up their own production companies, get a guaranteed percentage of the profits their films grossed) they also had very successful network radio shows.

Would also remind one that Bob Hope Enterprises (his production company) totally owned all of his specials he did for NBC TV for nearly 40 yrs, so the profits from TV weren't small change either.

Before Hope started investing in real estate in late 40s/early 50s, he was already a millionaire due entirely to working in Hollywood.

My original main point was that Bob Hope never would've gotten anywhere close to the kind of mega gazillions he earned IF he had opened his mouth and spouted off on the political issues of the day.

Throughout most of his career, Bob Hope took very few political stands in public. Even his tours with the USO were not about directly supporting the establishments policies regarding the wars (as the USO is an apolitical organization), they were seen as him supporting the troops who had to spend the holidays far from home. He was seen as supporting the troops who were alone on Christmas, and this goodwill accrued to him in bunches.

Tommy should've kept his mouth shut.

I think that fits in with a broader trend among American Jews.

Back in the 1940-1960 period, they wanted to be 'Americans.' Hank Greenberg, 'the Hebrew Hammer.' Folk singers, fer Chrissakes. The house in the suburbs, the election to the city council...Jews became the great novelists: it wasn't Hemingway anymore, it was Norman Mailer's The Naked and the Dead. Jews were being more American than the Americans. I remember one old guy; he'd been the quarterback of his high school football team; then won a Silver Star in the war. They were piling it on; Americans all.

Then they decided white America needed fixing. And here we are.

...getting well and truly fixed. Aside from everything else, the Biden administration shows what happens when Jews really get their hands on the steering wheel.

Replies: @36 ulster, @Dry land farming

Jews did not become the great American novelists. In the 1950s, New York critics declared them to be so, and denigrated White writers who were earning Pulitzer Prizes just a decade earlier. Ask yourself, how could it be that John Updike could be called “the WASP novelist”, in a mostly White country?

Note also how almost all the top violinists and pianists and symphony conductors came to be Jewish in the fifties and sixties. New York critics said so, and so it was. Van Cliburne only squeaked into the select group because he won the Tschaikofsky (sic) Competition in Moscow in 1956, and the critics couldn’t ignore that with the Cold War in progress.

The fact remains, college is largely a scam, a waste of time for most students. And many of the capable ones go on to perform parasitic tasks.

Personal note, not for generalization: I was a welder years ago, and I recently took a welding class for fun. In the class was a judge who was taking the class as a relief from the bullshit he had to do during the day. Maybe he ought to have gone to trade school when he was young instead of college.

I won’t argue about lawyers as my contact with them apart from family is very limited.

But doctors in Canada do not work for HMOs. We have taxpayer funded healthcare. It was brought in starting in the 1960s (in my province).

The doctors kept their private practices. Instead of billing patients they bill the government. So nothing much changed for them. In fact life got easier: no more bill chasing.

Mexico doesn’t even want the Hispanics from the US, they surely don’t want the Blacks and Moslems. They will pay Israel to build them a wall. This country you propose will be a new Gaza strip.

What will all these non-Whites do without Whites to support them? Make a deal with China? How long before the Chinese Eastern Pacific fleet has basing rights in San Diego and Long Beach, and are pumping out all the oil and gas in Texas?

And what of all the Whites who have been inviting the foreigners in for all this time? They surely don’t want to move to this new country, as can be seen by their insistence on living in White neighborhoods and sending their kids to private schools if the local schools are too diverse. Shall they be permitted to ruin the new USA?

How will we treat border crossers? Infiltration by saboteurs? Border “incidents”? There will be constant agitation for “humane” this and that, “temporary” laborers, tourist visas, foreign exchange students, ad infinitum.

Better to declare our internationally recognized borders are inviolate, jail those who serve foreign interests, expel those with foreign loyalties, and put the remaining undesirables behind barbed wire. We still have lots of space for labor camps in our deserts.

I think the US should reconsider its commitment to S. Korea. We spend over $3 billion/year on our military presence in Korea and put the lives of 30,000 US servicemen at risk every day. This far exceeds our commitment to Israel but somehow never gets mentioned by the Men of Unz.

Shouldn't Korea pay for its own defense and use its own people to defend itself? It's a rich country now. Why are we paying for their defense while they steal jobs from Americans by making cars, TVs, etc. that should be made by American workers? Unzites like Twinkie go on and on about Israel, Jews, Joos, Israel but never a word about S. Korea. Not to mention their crazy cousins up North. Why is this never questioned? I nominate Julianna Margolis for the ugliest actress in SAG Oscar how anyone can look at her. It’s even worse in movies than tv. Cinematography is nothing but extreme closeups of face. And she has an ugly face.Often even the hair forehead and jaw are off camera. Nothing but eyes noses and mouth. Not flattering to pretty women really bad for ugly women. I don’t know why movie makers bother going on location or even furnishing interiors. It’s just extreme closeups of eyes noses and mouths.

Debra Messing is extremely anti Christian. Before she made it big in Sodomite and Grace, she was in one of those dorky wedding comedies. The ceremony was in a Christian church set with a cross on the altar. Poor poor pitiful abused Jew had to spend hours on that set with the cross right there. Probably filed for workmen’s compensation psychiatric therapy to recover from the trauma.

All the way back to the 1970s, with respect to affirmative action, Jews are the dog that didn’t bark. You’d think that having such a greatly disproportionate share of wealth, position, and power, they’d have opposed re-dividing everything according to race, but they knew the fix was in. They got to hog the White share and call us greedy. I hold them fully responsible for the racial fix we’re in. They could have stopped it but chose to accelerate it. This time was just as the rot was setting in... I do my best today to discourage younger people from joining. Who wants to fight wars for Isreal anyway? I've seen many articles on the web bemoaning the fact that young people no longer want to join, without touching on the real reasons, such as Biden's clown world, globo homo and the good possibility of being killed or seriously damaged in another war for Jewish interests. Naturally, of course, Jews don't serve. My Dad who was fully Jewish noticed this in World War Two, and I saw it during my time in the service.

I've thought about that. I wonder if whites could join the National Guard in large numbers to this end. They should theoretically only be called up if the country was attacked and not be sent to fight overseas.
If the brass ever wanted large numbers of truly patriotic men to actually defend the country, they could start a type of "home guard" force that only fought within the continental United States.

Obama, who is despicable, is the one that made our military leftoid. He asked for the resignations if 198 high ranking officers, and asked their replacements (leftists all) to make a loyalty oath to him. This set us up for Chicago-style electoral cheating and I knew it at the time. The military is supposed to step in and conduct an election if there is obvious cheating, buy they didnt.

I have a gnawing suspicion that black and Latin military guys are disgusted by the gay and tyranny stuff, and also are aware that women in combat roles put their lives at risk in fights with peer competitors. These people are probably conflicted about the great "white threat" which really doesn't exist. When some white loses their mind like Dylan Roof, nobody wants or pleads for special treatment for them. Whites expect he will be justly punished. I think most non-whites see and recognize this.

How is it that the most rabid defenders of Israel’s presumed national integrity are those behind destroying ours—the point being that unless the connection is made between International Jewry’s flagrantly obvious and simultaneous war to annihilate America none of this makes sense or can be reversed.

I keep coming back to a since-disappeared article in Foreign Affairs that was linked to years ago right here, whose Jewish authors gloated over Israel’s years of negotiations with China behind our back with the express purpose of replacing the US with China as Israel’s chief ally once America’s usefulness is exhausted fighting wars for Israel and America is so devastated by internecine that retribution is impossible. The article smugly ends with Palmerston’s quip that nations have no permanent allies, only permanent interests, which in International Jewry’s case is financially pulling the plug on a dying US once its military usefulness is over.

So midwit underclass twitter!stoicism is literally the opposite of actual Stoicism.

    https://twitter.com/GraniRau/status/1748513413683187847

The actual foundation of Stoicism is precisely that it's normal not to listen to your emotions. To close your ears and sing. To turn your face away and hide your eyes.

The calm affect is basically a coincidence. It's a known effect, not the point.
When you carefully, with your full attention, listen to your emotions, they stop screaming at you. If you hear them and respond as if you've heard them, addressing what they've said, they don't need to say it anymore.

Imagine all the voices inside you became like the small quiet voice, because they no longer feel they have to be loud. Consider how you might appear from the outside, when you're like that on the inside.

You can read Aurelius to learn a bit about Stoicism, but remember he's mid. C-tier at best. Emperor first, thinker distant second. It's more like a model kit. Assembly required. Also you have to cast or carve some of the pieces yourself if you want a full picture.
As far as I know the writings of no major Stoic has survived.
Rather like Alchemy in that respect. You can only find the writings of failed Alchemists. Though in this case because almost all real Alchemists avoid writing anything down. They know how far it would get them.

For a start, Epictetus didn't write. It's the notes of a student.

Epictetus was a Greek Stoic philosopher.[...]He was born into slavery

    To Epictetus, all external events are beyond our control;

Was Epictetus even a Stoic, or was he a Sophist?
This stuff is only true in the most technical sense. It's all phrased to encourage you to live, as Epictetus was raised, as a slave.

If all external things are beyond my control, then things which are not beyond my control must not be external...
    How curious, lol.

Epictetus teaches that the preconceptions (prolepsis) of good and evil are common to all.[51] Good alone is profitable and to be desired, and evil is hurtful and to be avoided.[52] Different opinions arise only from the application of these preconceptions to particular cases, and it is then that the darkness of ignorance, which blindly maintains the correctness of its own opinion, must be dispelled.

Thus, what is profitable is what is good, and what is hurtful is what is evil.
Yet, what is desirable and profitable vs. hurtful and deprecated varies tremendously from person to person. Desirable sex for a man is very different to desirable sex as a woman, just to start.

People entertain different and conflicting opinions of good, and in their judgment of a particular good, people frequently contradict themselves.

Goodness, I should hope men and women have different judgments of the good, just for a start.

a divine command over the emotions

Perverted. Correctly the emotions command you.
This has been tested experimentally. Brain lesions which damage the emotions lead to paralysis. Perhaps we can call it atropia - lack of motion. Zero action.

Every individual is connected with the rest of the world, and the universe is fashioned for universal harmony.

    Technically correct but WTF phrasing.

Wise people, therefore, will pursue, not merely their own will, but also will be subject to the rightful order of the world.

...this is definitionally disharmony. This form of 'will of the world' is in dissonance with the will of the individual. Basically Epictetus is explaining that when he obeyed his slavemaster, it was especially wise.

We should conduct ourselves through life fulfilling all our duties as children, siblings, parents, and citizens.

The correct term for attempting to unilaterally impose a duty is [crime]. Not petty theft either. Imposing duties is a capital crime.

People still have free association in their personal lives. However, a business or organization that is part of civil and civic life cannot really discriminate. One should not be able to write one's bigotry off one's taxes.

If customers have the right to pick and choose which businesses they will patronize, businesses have an equal right to pick and choose which customers they will serve. Only government institutions ought be compelled to observe non-discrimination laws.

This article really makes one start to wonder. I wonder if the board of education in the Jim Crowe era south would have given text books in a rotation to Asian students first, then whites, then blacks. That would have been the most economical use of textbooks before they got too old & worn out & they had to buy new ones.

In other countries it is common to have “women only” subway cars so that women can avoid being groped on the train.

They could have used them in Romania when my wife was growing up there. She remembers men on the tram on her way to and from school who would creep up too close behind and rub themselves on a girl's backside, others who would openly masturbate in front of girls.

Even if blacks are not being violent toward the whites or getting in fights with each other, they are often rowdy, play loud music, etc. and create an atmosphere of chaos such that whites avoid mass transit...

This is true. However, to a lesser degree, avoiding mass transit is a class thing, because lower classes of Whites behave more poorly than other Whites. This is a fact I have observed and experienced my whole life, and I don't like it.

What exists is a continuum like this: Blacks! <---- Latinos <---- Lower Class Whites <---- Middle and Upper Middle Whites, plus East Asians. I may be wrong about where Latinos and lower Whites fit relative to each other; they may be pretty much the same to me, Sorry.

You could sell whites only subway cars as something that is demanded by climate change in order to get whites out of their automobiles.

You could, but you'd be lying, because "Climate Change"™ is a sham. Earth's climate has always changed, cyclicly, and will continue to do so, no matter how many White suckers you cram into sardine cans.

... a separate section on each bus just for white people. This time they could sit in the back.

LOL. That's the definition of irony and an analogy for the future of our country.

BTW, my father led the construction of the community swimming pool in the neighborhood we lived in when I was born and until I was four. Dad was the president of the homeowners association. One of my earliest memories is walking home with our family from that pool. It now sits empty, and the town, Stockton, California, is a mere, broke shadow of the American place it was then.

If you dump explosives into a city, half of the dead will be women. Depending on the ratio of adults to children, an additional given percent of the dead males will be children. To the 50% of the dead who will be women you add the share of the male population that is known to be children and there’s your proportion of dead women and children. Unless, of course, the IDF has special feminist and child-centered munitions that only kill adult males.

Gaza has been under attack for 110 days now and the majority of [smart] Gazans have fled south to huddle in tent cities and stay away from the killing fields. Those would be mostly woman and children and old men. Those that remain are by definition stupid and deserve culling or Hamas fighters (and deserve death). The vast majority of these will be male.

Excluding blacks just because one has defined them as black is an example of bigotry. And private businesses would need to use law enforcement to force out blacks for trespassing in their businesses.

In addition, no publicly held company could permit bigotry and segregation. When one talks about tolerating bigotry and segregation, what one really wants is to legalize the hidden kind of discrimination such as refusing to hire non-whites, keeping non-whites out of places like country clubs, or being able to have "private business" that do not advertise. Image the public backlash when a business in caught on hidden camera discriminating.

Went through the drive through of a fast food place where we had kids in the car, and this place is famous for helping out “troubled youths” by hiring them. As we waited for our food, a couple of the employed youths were having a conversation with every other word an F-bomb or N word, complained to manager as the kids asked what those words were, never went back again.

Bowling next to a pack of feral nogs is excruciating, no lane etiquette and screaming, hollering, walking/falling into your lane, and then they get mad when you respond. Movies… I don’t even need to explain this one. Staying at a hotel, you can hear them screaming in the room next to you, slamming doors, and hollering in the hallway until they pass out around 2-3am.

I’m sure others can list off a number of activities that have absolutely been ruined by blacks. It’s gotten to the point that I don’t mind paying a higher price when we do go out in an effort to avoid them at all costs, just go out less frequently or find nog-free activities like hiking or golf.
