Jews are not Hebrews. The Jewish holy book is the satanic Babylonian Talmud, not the Hebrew and Aramaic Old Testament.

Indeed, the only example that comes promptly to mind is Song of Solomon, in which the author rabbits on about his love interest's great tits.

Read it and pay attention.

Notice it involves a contract. Nothing spiritual. A Nation called Israel, with no government, a set of laws, no taxes.

People get hung up on the order to get rid of the seven tribes that occupied the 'promised land'.

Anti Bible people always seem to operate on the assumption that those people were nice and innocent and God was mean. Just like the antediluvian population, also nice and innocent.

Those seven tribes were evil. Getting rid of them is just so bad.

okay, long story short, Israel flobbed it big time. They did not like it. In their contract with God, a man could not get filthy rich or his offspring remain in abject poverty. JUSTICE was a key word.
Read the prophets what they got involved in. One thing God hated was false weights, exploiting the labor of their fellow man, basically, getting rich off of other's work and lying and cheating.
Those practices mean that you ignore the instructions of God. Having a temple, clergy and offering sacrifice does not cut it. God clearly says so. Only you have not looked at that.
Their justice system was simple.
If you did damage, or stole, you made it good.
Things that would endanger the well being of society, really evil things , carried the death penalty. Not as punishment, but to 'remove evil' out of your midst.
Of course we do it so much better nowadays.
Having a king was not part of the plan.
Israel wanted to be like the other nations.
Evtl. they could not maintain themselves as one kingdom and split up into Israel and into Judea.
Israel was done away with totally around 700 BC, give or take.
Judea, as a punishment ,was in captivity for 70 years. But it carried on for a few more centuries. Main Reason, the Messiah was supposed to come out of the tribe of Judah, of the house of David.
Notice, the moment the Messiah came, established a new covenant, got the 'church' going, the Temple was razed, Jerusalem destroyed, and the 'Jews' kicked out of the country and dispersed all over the world, just as was promised. Perfect timing.
Jews were first mentioned in the Bible when they were at war with Israel.
Jews and Israel are not synonymous. Present day 'Israel' is a misnomer. They should call the land Judea. I do not know of a promise to the Judeans specific.
I have no idea what it is with so called Christians to be so enamored with them. I have met some who believed that Abraham and Moses were Jewish.

Christianity to a greater degree than other religions inverted the BC belief that God, or God's were created in Man's image changing it, instead, to Man created in God's image.
This allowed Christianity to preach their Gospels of love, and universality.
The downside was that, of course, it flew in the face of reality, and as Christianity prospered work arounds were needed to allow for the exercise of power. This Christian pretzel twisting led to its, at first, splintering and then a drastic reduction of its power. Nowadays nominally Christian nations actively work to tamp down even further Christian power. This is usually claimed to be in response to Christian extremism.
While plausible on the surface just below the surface lurks the knowledge that Christian doctrine is, at its core, incompatible with State power.

God is a human idea of a higher power, like a father figure, that watches out for you or the tribe. God of the Jews is the psychotic tendencies of the Jewish tribe projected onto a deity. Yahweh has emotions, like a human, and loves the smell of burning meat.

The bottom line is that humans invent gods in their image. And if you identify with a god strongly, and the other tribe does not, it is an offense to the human ego, which is why humans kill each other over their imaginary god - to protect their ego.

Often, the tribal priest, will use the god meme to organize the masses to attack the rival tribe/kingdom. The priest says he is god's representative, and that god commands the tribe to kill off the rivals who do not believe in the priest's/rabbi/imam god. God is how the Rabbi seizes power over the tribe.

The Old Testament stories of God commanding the Israelites to kill everything is actually the psychotic power mad Rabbi telling the tribe, NOT GOD.

When a Christian tries to sell you his god, and you reject it, then the Christian is let down as if by a love interest. It is the exact same thing, as explained by Darkmatter2525:

The Old Testament is a reflection of Bronze Age morality. The entire world lived by the same.
