As the wife of a long-distance runner, I’ve seen my fair share of amazing stories and races.

This one about California high school runner Holland Reynolds, who collapsed at her state cross-country meet just two yards from the finish line and crawled to the end to clinch a team championship, has to rank near the top of the list. Reynolds was inspired by her coach, who has Lou Gehrig’s disease.
