Last week, Steve Schippert at ThreatsWatch first raised questions about a White House executive order that appears to give Interpol immunity from American law.

See Steve’s full analysis here.

Andy McCarthy weighed in here with more questions:

Why would we elevate an international police force above American law? Why would we immunize an international police force from the limitations that constrain the FBI and other American law-enforcement agencies? Why is it suddenly necessary to have, within the Justice Department, a repository for stashing government files which, therefore, will be beyond the ability of Congress, American law-enforcement, the media, and the American people to scrutinize?

Ed Morrissey at HotAir adds:

I seem to recall the Left getting hysterical over the Patriot Act extensions that Obama finally backed. This gives Interpol a much wider operational latitude than anything contemplated in the Patriot Act, and with no accountability at all.

Where’s the MSM, which used to be on every Bush executive order like white on rice? The only MSM interest so far seems to be from ABC White House reporter Jake Tapper, who Tweets that he has asked the Obama administration twice about it with no response.

How long can the stonewall stand?
