You can’t escape the hype over Barack Obama’s 30-minute infomercial tonight.
It’ll be aired on four broadcast networks at 8 p.m. Eastern. The NYTimes notes this “will be the first time in 16 years that a presidential candidate has bought network time, in prime time, for a prolonged campaign commercial.”
Michelle Obama told Jay Leno that her daughter Malia complained: “‘You’re going to be on all the TV? Are you going to interrupt my TV?'”
‘No, we didn’t buy time on Disney and Nick.’ And she said, ‘Oh good.’ And got up and walked away. She’s just like: ‘Don’t mess with My TV.’ ”
Hmph. Looks like the Obamas aren’t practicing what they preach to other parents:
We’re going to have to parent better, and turn off the television set, and put the video games away, and instill a sense of excellence in our children, and that’s going to take some time.
Video game makers had a good snort when the Obamessiah then turned around and started advertising on…video games.
Do as they say: Turn off the TV!
I’ll cover the Obamgasm so you don’t have to tune in. Expect a rehash of the “higher purpose” drivel we heard on Monday.
