The illegal alien student bailout architects are meeting with President Obama today to strategize and schedule the DREAM Act vote for the lame-duck session.
Via Politico: “Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.), Rep. Nydia Velazquez (D-N.Y.) and Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.) will meet with President Barack Obama Tuesday afternoon to talk about the chances of getting comprehensive immigration reform or the DREAM Act passed in the lame duck session, a House Democratic source said.”
As I’ve been reminding you, however, the real action will be on the GOP side — where open-borders lobbyists are ramping up pressure on Republican squishes.
One prominent target: Kay Bailey Hutchison.
A dozen University of Texas San Antonio students are entering their sixth day of a hunger strike today, demanding Republican Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison support the DREAM Act.
…Speaking about Sen. Hutchinson, a 22-year-old DREAM Act organizer at UTSA, told the San Antonio News:
“She’s our last hope. We know she has a good head on her shoulders, and we need her to stand up for us.”
Hutchinson has supported earlier iterations of DREAM but voted against it in the last round.
In Arizona, a front group called “Conservatives for the DREAM” has erected pro-amnesty billboards.
Phone numbers for Senate Republicans who have supported the DREAM Act in the past can be found here. Make sure they hear from you.
