Philosophy professor Peter Simpson responded to my forthcoming Crescent International article “Does It Really Matter Who Wins the US Presidential Election?” (the short answer is no) writing:
“Well I’m afraid I have to agree with your sentiments in the piece you posted (‘afraid’ because it would be nice if things were different). However untypical Trump is as president (for good or ill), he can’t break the system. The reason of course, in my view anyway, is the Constitution, which was written by oligarchs for oligarchs. You didn’t quite say that — perhaps that would really be going too far — but you sort of hinted at it. So thanks. Be well, and keep not worrying.”

Trump is just one man, albeit a political genius, but the Trump movement has the power to change the system itself. At the very least we can rid ouselves of traitors and parasites nesting in the State apparatus.
A political genius? Do you have any evidence for this claim?
Simpson’s right, don’t worry. The election is another fake event.
One thing he gets wrong: the constitution doesn’t constrain a damn thing because CIA revoked it when Rumsfeld went to DEFCON 3, invoking COG after 911. Now we’re in our second decade of emergency rule by secret decree. The constitution was anyway shot full of holes when the Central Intelligence Agency Act was passed. Now CIA impunity’s the binding constraint.
The constitution, that’s the ancien régime. It’s gone. You’re not getting it back.
The last real election, with a real difference between good and evil, was 1952. Ike promised to stop the war in Korea and Truman promised to continue. Ike won and immediately started the pullout. Since then, nothing meaningful has changed. Some politicians promise change then break the promise. Most don’t even bother to promise.
Biden didn’t bother. He said clearly that he would CONTINUE the lockdowns and masks and riots that Trump STARTED. So why should we pick Continuation A vs Continuation B?
It matters in the UK. Biden will make the Brexiters honour the Good Friday Agreement. Tories humiliated. A loss for Trump will strand them on a desert island.
Rufus- Do you have any evidence that Biden is still living?
It’s about the same level of questioning. Anyone who is able to be elected Prez who is that unlikeable, has to have SOME smarts…. LOL
Not an audience drawer, Peter Simpson, but compensated for by in-depth arguments. A real voice, to be consulted in your back-office.
He defeated the thoroughly entrenched establishment with half the cash, all the negative press they could muster and his own party against him.
The sheer amount of cheating going on now, blatant as it is, is a testament to how much Trump was feared for his breakthrough into establishment politics.
