Linh Dinh, the great exiled Vietnamese-American writer and world traveler, has been publishing coronavirus reports from around the world, most recently “Coronavirus Missives from the USA, Brazil, Italy, Iran and Mexico.” In this interview Linh reports live from South Korea, where they beat the coronavirus without a lockdown. In this slightly weird interview, recorded on my live show, Linh couldn’t hear me due to a technical problem (it turned out his mic was interfering with his audio). So I carried on my side of the conversation by typing questions and responses to Linh on Skype chat, while speaking them for the radio audience.

This vid tells how SK did it, and represents a stark contrast to the still grotesquely inadequate response in the US ….

  2. SK didn’t impose lockdown because of the all-important National Assembly elections that were held on April 15, two days ago. The ruling leftist party won the largest majority of seats in a long time. Some attribute this win to the government being perceived as having fought off covid-19 effectively. But many suspect based on statistical data that the vote count was rigged by swapping fake votes for those from early voting, possibly with Chinese/NK intelligence complicity. SK’s democracy is quickly eroding as these power-hungry corrupt sinophile crooks continue to plunder its wealth and advance totalitarian control measures. Now that the elections are over, it will be interesting to see how the government’s response to covid-19 changes. It is quite possible that the government has been hiding the real patient numbers for fear of losing the election.

How nice to know that SK was a model democracy before the left wing government happens to be garnering greater public support!

SK was never as exemplary a democracy as the US but, notwithstanding, almost any level of democracy is better than the communist dictatorship that the current leaders want to install in SK, similar to CCP in substance if not in form. Freedom and a false perception of having democracy beats having to toe the communist party line any day of the week.

    See what I see?
    L. Dinh must be the vector spreading this thing around the world.

    Somebody capture LD.
