Notable writer, poet, and photo-essayist Linh Dinh, Truth Jihad Radio’s roving global correspondent, left America years ago. Now he says he is leaving the Unz Review and will henceforth publish only at linhdinhphotos.blogspot.com. In both cases, the stupidity and vulgarity of (some) Americans hastened his departure.

During the first half of this interview Linh discusses his experiences in Cape Town, South Africa. Apparently he annoyed certain white racist commenters by blaspheming against their fervent conviction that all of post-apartheid South Africa is a crime-ridden hellhole experiencing “white genocide.” The fact that millions of white South Africans are living happy, privileged lives, a great many of them employing black servants while doing so, somehow doesn’t register with these people. Their relentless taunts and slurs, a regular feature of comments on Linh’s articles, became so distracting that Linh decided to sever his connection with Unz.com.

Does the Unz Review, America’s leading alternative webzine, err on the side of “anything goes” in its approach to moderating comments? Do the white identitarian writers there attract commenters who discredit the site? Listen to our discussion and weigh in in the comments section! And be civil—not to spare my tender feelings, but because if you aren’t, you’re only discrediting yourself.

“No Country For White Pussies?” The title isn’t racist, people, you White commentators are racist.

    ROTFLMMFWAO.

Don’t know which is more absurd, these clowns saying the commentators were “racists” or claiming that S. Africa is not near as bad as we think.

LMAO. Yet another racist nonwhite claiming Whites are “racist.”

Linh Dinh will be missed. The language was often raw, but the substance was excellent. It was most interesting to learn through Linh’s observations. American news media is directed propaganda with always missing facts. The Judy Miller first page reporting on the Iraq war in the New York Times is an example. Lies and selective events are what makes news; factual evidence is ignored.

  3. Linh Dinh is among the best of the best. So is Paul Craig Roberts. Just don’t accept comments and keep the free speech for those of us who are not assholes.

  4. Linh Dinh says:
    @Trinity

    Hi all,

It’s tiresome to write or argue with illiterates. This moron once attacked me for something a person I interviewed said. He doesn’t even know an interview involves two people who don’t have to agree with each other about anything.

Here’s a literate white South African’s response to my title, “The only reason Whites feel guilty in the States is because they are pussies, they are even sending money to Israel each year. And pussies cannot keep their land, Linh is correct.”

And here’s an email I sent today to Craig Nelsen, one of the few white American men with balls left:

Kevin Barrett just interviewed me about this situation, and the audio of that should be up at Unz soon. I pointed out to Barrett that Sailer and Karlin can moderate their comments, but Ron has denied me this privilege, although I need it more than the others, since as the only non-white regularly featured, I’m subjected to the kind of racial abuse they don’t. Fred Reed gets attacked because he has a Mexican white. With a Muslim Moroccan wife, and a Muslim himself, Barrett also receives cheap shots.

In the interview with Barrett, I said that Jews have had a history of dragging down the culture, such as their defense of pornography and promotion of violent and misogynistic rap, in the name of free speech, and ironically, Unz Review is doing the same, although, I was careful to point out, I don’t think Ron Unz is doing this purposely. What I didn’t say, and should have, is that Ron is analogous to Jerry Springer in featuring and encouraging the worst of white behavior.

With words like niggers, subhumans, simians, gooks and chinks used so freely at Unz, there are almost no non-white or even female commenters at Unz. It’s an angry white men’s club. Upset that the black gymnast Simone Biles got so much coverage during the recent Olympics, several of them started calling her “Simian Biles.” That’s what passes for wittticism at the intellectual Unz Review.

I also said to Barrett that whites are compensating for their impotence by lashing out at Muslim war refugees, Mexican busboys and people like me, although a guy like the Vietnamese-American Andy Ngo is a much more courageous patriot than most of them. As they hide, Ngo is exposing his name, face and body to defend the country.

In Tirana, I met a young American white who was trying to become a writer. I gave him many advices, including the need to get his name out there, as in the publication of articles.

Last week, he finally sent me a link to his first publication, but it’s under a pseudonym. In it, he attacks the justifications for the War on Terror, and indicts Zionists, but there’s this passage:

“Even if one accepts the official narrative on the events of that day, the proper response would have been a stringent ban on Muslim immigration to the United States and a humane, orderly, incentive-based effort to repatriate any Muslims already present on American soil.”

I responded, “Very good article, but don’t point any finger at Muslims. They are the worst victims of the Jews, and Islamophobia has been orchestrated by the Jews to get stupid whites riled up. Don’t stoke that fire, even for a second.

“You will have arrived when you use “Jews” instead of “Zionists,” and when you publish under your own name.

“Just about everybody is still terrified of the Jews, and that’s why the country is going down the shit hole. There’s no resistance when just about everybody is hiding.

“Impotent, they rage at someone like me (or Muslims), and that’s why I’ve said adios to Unz Review. I don’t need to entertain uncivilized white racists. They can have their sinking all-white ship.”

He replied that he felt no need to dox himself, which confirmed my point exactly. If a guy thinks standing behind his own words is doxing himself, then he is neither a writer nor a dissident.

The title of my piece, “No Country for White Pussies,” has several meanings, but the primary one, as is perfectly clear from my writing, is that South African whites are no pussies. Right at the beginning, I mention the South African boxer Corrie Sanders as “no juking pussy.” An implied meaning of my title is that: If you’re a bunch of pussies, if you’re unwilling to fight for your own country, then you won’t have one. Some of the pussies who went after me may have deduced this. The rest were just triggered by “white pussies,” regardless of context.

I will write for intelligent and civilized people at my blog, http://linhdinhphotos.blogspot.com/ , and leave the Jerry Springer Show of White Identitarian Politics to raging white pussies, so rage away!

Here’s a non pussy response from a white Canadian entrepreneur who has lived in Joburg and Cape Town for the past decade:

I’m enjoying your articles because they show the arc of learning that should come with any travel experience. Bringing in Baartman, Park, Mandela, etc. Nice range of characters and time periods.

It’s too bad that some of your readers seem more committed to their biases than open to learning from your lived experiences on the ground, in the place itself. And some of the comments, of course, betray a vicious ignorance which leaves such a bad taste in your mouth. Gee whiz. Yah, why bother writing for such assholes.

Meanwhile, they’re screaming “White genocide!” from their fart-infused recliners, dumping Velveeta mac-in-cheese in their laps when they don’t read about the racial holocaust they’ve been imagining. And you’re walking around in Camps Bay, in Sea Point, in Kloof, the Waterfront and…well…the white people are just chilling, sipping locally grown wine on their ocean facing apartment balconies, perfectly content with their station in life. “If this is what white genocide looks like,” say the white people sampling tapas at La Parada in Hout Bay, “then I want some too!”

But, yah, shame. It seems like some of those readers only valued writing that re-confirmed their prior opinions about things. What a waste of their literacy.

    Linh

  5. If Anatoly Karlin can ban people (he’s banned me) why can’t Linh Dinh do the same Mr Ron Unz?
To be honest, I don’t favour anyone having the power to ban anyone or any kind of comment.
As a side note, I worked 8 years as a message board moderator and content editor. Often I was outraged by the horrific savagery on display but that is life.
I did moderate and ban people, but mostly for spamming, trolling or promoting websites.

Appreciative readers will miss Linh Dinh’s work appearing here, haters will move on to someone or something else.

  8. Dear Kevin,

thank you very much for giving the great Linh Dihn an opportunity to vent his frustration.
I’m disheartened to hear that we won’t be blessed with his unique commentary here on UNZ anymore. I urge you to urge him to reconsider, please ignore the scum that pick at his bones like filthy vultures….there are many of us who love and respect him. He is the voice of our generation X.
He should ignore the plebs who attack him, most of us patronise this site for the articles, not the comments.

Btw, why not do like PCR and not allow comments? Your pieces have a lot of readers from people who read other UR columnists/ bloggers

Linh was TROLLING for comments with a title like, “No Country For White Pussies.” And I read over a lot of those comments and they were far from over the top especially given the title of the article. During this interview, the writer Ilana Mercer was brought up. I sometimes read Mercer’s articles and she has her loyal following of comments that disagree with her take as well. I think Mercer might know more about S. Africa than Linh even. haha. This Linh dude’s comment section is tame as hell. The worst comments I saw might have had the word, “gook” in them, and there were probably only one or two of them. Linh is like so many nonwhites out there, he can dish it out all day but he cannot take even the slightest of criticism. Dude, only a handful of people even give a shit about you leaving. I personally have never even heard of you. My loss, right? hahaha. Carry on, trooper. lolol.

    Linh,

Please don’t leave the Unz Review. There are many more non-white commenters than you think, and certainly many non-white readers. Most importantly, however, it is hard to know who the purported “white commenters” or their intentions really are, just as it can be hard to know exactly who the attackers on 9/11 really were. There are many layers, and you leaving gives them more credit than they have or deserve, while depriving us of your writing, and yourself of an important audience.

    Please reconsider.

  18. I am not quite sure why people seem to think Dinh is a great writer. Seems like a self-indulgent, smug goof-off, found his grift savaging society (deserved) and his putative allies (undeserved). A sort of Ugly American on steroids, but its OK, cause he isn’t a white pussy, he’s a polite, quiet, yellow wallflower who doesn’t confront his world-traveling hosts as he excoriates the knuckle-dragging white supremacists he sees everywhere.
HE IS SUPERIOR because he has NO ALLEGIANCE to ANYONE OR ANY PLACE, so he can safely criticize EVERYONE since it isn’t ‘his fault’. He ran away, he is always running away, THAT IS ALL HE HAS: he is a runaway slave of Empire. Aren’t you supposed to be married ? She ‘likes’ you being away? I can understand why, but what kind of ‘marriage’ is that? Do you even know what she feels? Or does she not write you in a manner to your liking? You got kids? Don’t recall saying so, but if so, what a scumbag father.
He gets all wiggly-kneed from a handful of loudmouths HE WANTS TO CENSOR BECAUSE HE DOESN’T LIKE THEM? Gee, that’s a nice look for someone supposedly champions everyone expressing themselves. Oh, as LONG AS they express themselves to Dinh’s liking. (AND, I disagree with the censorship of ANYONE, insipid Sailer-boy, or a thin-skinned hypocrite like Anglin.) HE GETS UPSET AT WORDS (A ‘WRITER’!) and wants to Stop The Bad Words ’cause they twigger his superior sensibilities. Yeah, what a tough guy you are. Big talk asshole puts people down DON’T AGREE with him IN EXACTLY THEY WAY HE “ALLOWS”. And because you slide a few insincere, humble-brag mild putdowns of yourself, you pretend to be self-aware.
REALLY have an instinctive dislike for this guy, I think he is full of it. A big talk parasite whose words don’t help anyone but himself. ONLY thing I will miss is the pictures of meals.

For the record, I don’t recall ever reading your blog-with the exception of the Craig Nelson interview.

I have followed the scientific-engineering debates that are our there in internet land and I am fully confident that the 9/11 truthers have debated in bad faith. The 9/11 Truthers have lost the 9/11 Truthers have lost the scientific-debate very badly. I have debated the 9/11 Truthers many times on Unz Review…you can go google my debates with them. And I have established two things:1)Truther Scientists and Engineers engage in crack pottery and that 9/11 Truthers have a nasty agenda which is to import Muslims LEGALLY into America so that Muslims can enthusiastically vote the Historic Native Born White Christian American Majority into a violently persecuted white racial minority within the borders. I would like to know if you support this type of Immigration Policy? I would also like to know if you support the H-1 B and L-1 B Visa Program?

So for the record, I have never posted comments on your blog using ant-Asian slurs….nor would I ever. Having stated this…….Asians in America seem to be very much on board with the slurring against Native Born White Working Class Americans in response to inner-city urban black male youths punching-out ChineseGrannies on NYC sidewalks…..

  22. I’m sorry that Linh Dinh is leaving the Unz Review. I have enjoyed his street level views of the world, the conclusions that he’s drawn from these, and his quirky writing style, which sometimes reaches the level of prose poetry. I’ll add his blog spot to my favorite sites, just under the Unz Review so I’ll be sure to check it regularly. However, after reading some of the trolling comments posted here I can understand why Linh Dinh wants to escape knee biters like these.

  23. Linh, I cherish your open-mindedness and your wide experience with people of all sorts of backgrounds. I deplore your anti-Semitism. The very premise of unz review, however, is that when you allow anyone to write whatever they want, you’re allowing emotionally unstable people to vent in public.
Your inability to accept the consequences of certain facts — that is, your support for freedom of expression for jerks and idiots, and yet your unwillingness to tolerate just that among the comments to your posts — extends as well to the views you articulated today about Capetown, South Africa. Here you are, telling us that there are no police, no enforcement of law, no convictions for murders or rapes. Yet, you say, South Africa is not a disintegrating mess of a country. What constitutes a mess of a country, other than that there’s no enforcement of law?
Add my name to those who will miss your vivid and charming reports form all corners of the world. Do appreciate the necessity for consequences of certain facts.

This is terrible. Wait a minute. First, good grief, why do you pay any attention to idiotic comments ????? The Jews’ primary tactic for destroying critical debate is the ‘sh** on the front room floor’ strategy, that is saying the most disgusting, insulting, whatever it takes, thing they can think of to stink up the place. You’re letting them run you off ???

And so what if some of your detractors (I confess I don’t notice them, I just skip over idiotic stuff) are ‘real ‘white nationalists’, they could be Trumpers ….

It doesn’t compute for me, running away from a few critics. Of course, if it’s a considered cost/benefits analysis then why not spell it out ?????

And this is supposed to be about race? I’m a terrible racist, and I think you’re great. So, this idea that ‘racists’ are the one persecuting you, that too doesn’t compute for me.

You and Anglin are the only Unzers who aren’t half Zio – and Anglin is warped – take Barrett … a Muslim for Christ’s sake – i.e. a follower of religion a based on Judaism.

  27. @Linh Dinh

Well, I don’t know. I suspect you’re being exploited by Unz. They’re probably using you as some kind of a lightning rod or something. And I daresay the pay is probably shit. And so fuck em.

But on the other hand, you shouldn’t worry about the assholes on here. (You probably think I’m one, but I don’t mind at all.) Online assholes are just words on a page. They don’t exist. And you don’t exist to them either. You’re just words on a page. Electrons dissipating in air.

The thing is, there are very very few places on the internet any more where you can just say what you want. Back in the Wild West days, when Truthdig was this cheesy little un-moderated blog, the flame-wars on there were absolutely conflagrant! They said such horrible, horrible things to each other. And there was no limit to posts per hour, either. And so the flaming went on and on and on. It was wonderful! They were so vile, it was liberating.

Of course, the old-time Truthdig dickhead-commandoes were much funnier than the douchebags on here now, I’ll give you that. Then again, they had unlimited posts to work up to critical humoristical mass.

I find that, no matter what they say to me, it doesn’t bother me. Whatever they say always seems so lacking, so feeble, so namby-pamby, so cliched, so sad, so inadvertently funny, so–dumb. None of them has ever managed to come up with anything that actually cuts close to the bone. I guess I ain’t got no bone.

Of course, I realize that you don’t have the benefice of anonymity as your shield and buckler. Anonymity is such a wonderful thing. Self-righteous people complain about it. And god knows, it ain’t all that secure. But still, what little anonymity there is enables the freedom of the speech. And in the end, I may be crazy, and who knows I’ll probably regret it someday, but right here and right now, I love myself the freedoms of the speeches. If nothing else, the freedoms of the speeches is less boring than all that careful, chiseled, cheese-pared, bowdlerized, pseudo-radical, conventional-wisdom, pandering, manipulative boiler-plate one ordinarily surfs across in the course of the average empty and unrewarding and unremarkable day.

    And so, in sum:

I wish you could just shine them on, and then, any time you feel like it, curse them out royally without let or hindrance.

But failing that, all any of these bozos mourning your “departure” has to do is visit your blog. It’s a finger-tap away. And thus, you’re not really gone. The Intranets is funny that way.

    White Expat Reply

Like all others from Saigon to Jakarta, Linh Dinh ignores the elephant in the room…the complete domination of those societies by ethnic Chinese.

No quarrel about Jerry Springer-types but they would be hitting their knees in thanks that Saul Horowitz & Seamus O’Brien (Though the Micks are now a circumcised member sucking auxiliary) are still running the USA if they saw how far down on their knees the Chinese have the likes of his society.

This seems to even carry forward into their American experience, with Amy Chau openly insulting them as inferior to the Southern Chinese who run their economies & treat them like farm animals & writers like Link never bring this up.

They don’t bring Chinese pumping their societies full of crystal meth, which the CCP learned from the British in order to create vassal states.

So while I cannot quarrel with Mr. Linh on his descriptions of some OP’s, who are less likely to be paid provocateurs than merely teenagers masquerading, I sense some disingenuousness on his part.

I disagree with the power to “ban” commenters, because then the comment section turns into an echo chamber of applauses for a narcissist who doesn’t want anyone disagreeing with him.

AK is an obvious narcissist who bans people for little reason, and so his comment section is almost as useless as his own blog (I say a bit less useless, because I guess some commenters could still perhaps say something interesting).

Vox Day, although in a different way, and with a more interesting blog, is another narcissist (although he doesn’t have commenters anymore, which is actually good).

But I do agree with the power to moderate, that is, to delete insulting or stupid comments, or even to choose not to have comments at all.

I don’t know why Mr. Unz didn’t allow Linh to moderate his blog, like Steve Sailer and others do.

(Steve Sailer is an interesting case with commenters that are, quite a few times, more interesting or insightful than the host; I think a large part of the interest of Steve’s blog lies in the quality of the comments more than in the posts themselves).

Otherwise, Linh could choose to have no comments, like (most articles by) PCR.

  36. Ko says:

When I lived in Burma and had a position that had me interviewing teachers, I met six White South Africans and had good conversations with them over why they left South Africa. None of them was wealthy, nor did they have resources like the well-off White’s in SA who owned businesses and kept blacks as servants. They all told me life for them had turned for the worse. The wrath of blacks was focused on poor Whites and middle class Whites. That made sense. Wealthy Whites could hire guards, or move themselves and their families to safer environs. The poor and middle class Whites could not so, they took the brunt of the racist rages against whites in the same way poor and working class Whites are attacked and murdered by blacks in USA today. So, the point is, if Linh is such a pussy that he’ll stop writing, maybe he should slink away to his blog. Or, he cold do like Paula Craig Roberts and insist no commenters torment his sensitive feelings by saying mundane and stupid shit behind his very obvious thoughts and his common ideas. Too bad, cuz Linh’s a great writer. Or, maybe just ignore the nonsense comments? By the way, I never hired the South Africans because their English was almost not English, and if I had a bad time with deciphering their accents, I doubt the Burmese students would find it easy. South African English is not really English. Suffice it to say, the things the SA teachers told me about black on White crimes, racism, massacres, rapes, lots and lots of rapes of White females, was astonishing and bone chilling. Enjoy your blog.

It’s probably for the best. I don’t really like coming here because so much of the commentariat is so unhinged, and you were one of the few reasons I continued to do so. It’s obvious the idiots and trolls were beginning to get to you, and I know how that can affect the quality/volume of your output. Though I don’t agree with you on everything, I always find your travelogues interesting and thought-provoking. I look forward to following you at your blog!

  42. @Dumbo

It seems to me that abusive comments should be banned. Personally I could care less to whom people are married. The spouse will always have some influence, and that is to be expected. Just as one’s religious beliefs and personal experiences will influence opinions. There is no need for abuse, although I plead guilty on some occasions. Removing the comment and being put in limbo for a few days is a better way to go.

  43. @Linh Dinh

“I will write for intelligent and civilized people at my blog,”

Well, that sucks. Thanks for some great columns and excellent book recs, especially Palm-of-the-Hand stories. I come here as much for the comments section as I do for the articles. I hate some articles, and I hate many comments. But I love the uncensored environment. But if I was a columnist here, and people were attacking my loved ones with racist attacks, I wouldn’t want to stay here either. I will try to remember to visit your site.

Whites are in a minority among the young, who are the people who count. Muslims might balance against Jews in the US, not saying I want Muslims. Whites vote more than other groups, currently.

It might do us good to be persecuted. Linh is right that we could do more; life is perhaps too easy in the US, currently. It’s tough to know the future.

I didn’t understand the attacks on you. I’m glad I’m allowed to talk about white people concerns at this site, but I hope I didn’t post anything that annoyed you. Sometimes going off topic is rude. South Africa is worse than you realize, but that’s fine.

Sometimes, tough love is real love. There used to be a black preacher on yt, Pastor Manning, who would be harshly critical of other blacks. Others would laugh, but he was giving good advice. So, I’m generally happy to see positive criticism of whites. Whites need to hear it. You seemed to me to be trying to help.

I don’t want Muslim immigrants. I’d prefer the wars end. Muslims have fought Hindus, Buddhists, Christians, Zoroastrians. There’s a history. I respect them, but they tend to fight nonMuslims. Respectfully.

  49. The idiocy and proud racism of the sewer dwellers who infest these comment columns can be in large part attributed to Unz’s propensity for reposting open racist claptrap from sites like VDare and The Daily Stormer, without, of course, any attempt to balance things by posting from the other side of the aisle. If good writers keep leaving, Unz will become an echo chamber of IQ-count-obsessed Amerikastani right wingnuts ranting to each other like Russia Insider did once all self respecting authors severed their connections to it.

Linh I’m sorry you are leaving because I enjoy your somewhat warped perspective of things. However, I know people who live in S.Africa and I have relatives that have visited there. They have a very different perspective on it. First, you are basically a tourist. You are obviously a rough and tumble guy that doesn’t mind eating in dive bars and other low life establishment. You don’t look like you have anything worth stealing if you know what I mean.

Second, the problem according to the people who live in certain sections of towns it may be quiet for a while but can explode in a heartbeat. Since you didn’t live there for a long time you may see only what you want to. Third, I have friends that hunt there on the preserves. The gamekeepers who are mostly black and many who are highly educated tell the hunters they prefer the days of apartheid because they don’t feel safe especially for there families. Many of the preserves have all types of barbwire surrounding them. Am I’m saying apartheid was right? NO, I just telling you that most of the people had better life they believe than under the Black government which they consider worse than the previous group.

At one time S. Africa had some of the finest Universities in the world. They were modelled after the British Univ. System. S.African Universities actually were the first to offer distance education and they started it years ago. Those universities are now under attack by the BLM and they are being destroyed by this insanity of “Equity.” Math and Science courses are now racist if Blacks can’t pass them.

Obviously, you saw nothing of this. And finally some of your so called trolls may be some of your “friends.”…who you have upset…..the Jews who use a variety of techniques to go after people like you. You should realise that you must scare them.

From your interview with Barrett I see that you are still upset about having to leave America because of your status. Unfortunately, you attack the people in this country instead of the Government. Americans have no control over anything and we are not coming back. Many of my friends have been in just about every country in the world and they say that no matter where they have been the people of the USA are still the friendliest and the most accommodating. My friends have been to every Asian nation and country and they say it’s very different. They are very tribalistic. I had an Asian friend from China and another one from Korea. They both left the groups they came over with because of the tribalism. They told me they wanted to be an American.

You have a very colored view of the world and your travels and that’s fine but realize other people have the other side of the coin.

    Hi all,

Below is an email I sent to Ron Unz seven hours ago. If you see me here again, it means he has agreed to my proposal (at the end). If not, then that’s that.

My basic contention is this: why allow Sailer and Karlin moderation power (thus protection from idiotic hecklers), and deny it to me or Fred Reed? Craig Roberts doesn’t even allow comments.

Like many of you, I applaud Unz for his free speech policy, but it should be applied evenly, without tiers of favoritisn, or apartheid, if you will. Sailer should be as exposed as I am.

    Hi Ron,

Many of your white nationalists just hate seeing my name there, period.

They routinely make bizarre comments that have nothing to do with my articles.

Schuetze, “Like all communists, he has nothing and he wants to share it with people who have worked and created wealth. No, I don’t consider bumming around the planet and writing irrelevant ‘prose’ like this to be ‘work.’”

Chris Mallory, “I have wondered how a Southeast Asian junk picker, the last job I remember him mentioning working, can afford to bebop around the world spewing his Asian hive mind twaddle.

“It is a shame the little ingrate was ever allowed to step foot on US soil. A shame the South China Sea pirates didn’t get him.”

Maddaugh, “I doubt Linh is in South Africa. It is possible these days to sit at the coffee shop and write travel blogs complete with photos.

“Linh has not done his homework. No country for white pussies ? The fellow is clueless about the past history of South Africa and just who pulls the strings in the country.

“This little Gook wants to show how tough he is. Its the old story, the 5 foot pygmies are always into the Rambo thing. Yet, a few harsh words and Linda Linh is triggered. What do these people expect on social media. Karlin with his big sword is another fruitcake. Why tout free speech if it is to be restricted to gushing praise. Ron better be cautious and start vetting his writers or he will end up with a whole bunch of teenage feminine pansies.

“Its no country for white pussies BUT Bruce Linh is there…as least that is what he claims. LMAO”

There are more idiotic comments, but you get the idea. The last moron has repeatedly said I’m writing from a kitchen table or skidrow somewhere in the US, that I wasn’t in Albania, and now, not in South Africa.

An earlier example, “Funny how all the “pro-white” GAYtheists and FAGans who hate Christianity for supposedly being anti-western will nod in agreement with some communist gook like Linh Dinh on a mossad-controlled website like Unz.”

Another, “But now, thanks to you, the next time I see a gook name on this site, I’m not even going to bother reading what it has to say. It’s already made up its mind about me, so I’ll return the favor. Fuck you too, slant-eyed cunt. I hope the next time you play Minecraft and walk around a city controlled by the Democrats you vote for, a mentally ill nigger crackhead tweaking on fentanyl, marijuana, methamphetamine, etc knocks you the fuck out for no reason and takes your inventory.”

There’s nothing to be gained by allowing such idiotic barbarity.

How about if there are no comments after my articles for a month? This will serve as a warning for the morons to behave better when comments are open again. I mean, you discredit Unz Review when you allow one of its featured writers to be called a “gook”! That is just ridiculous.

    Linh

In 1847, the London Morning Post had this to say about the San, who are native to the land I’m writing from, “They belong … to the lowest class of humanity; and the power of speech being excepted, there are many of the inferior animals possessing a greater development of the higher faculties than this savage specimen of the human kind.”

Sounds nothing like the San whom I see every day, but quite a lot like the clawers and screechers who are befouling Unz Review.

I’ve talked to several former Californians here in Indiana who say the same thing about California. These are middle and working class whites who moved, not wealthy ones. Wealthy whites have their own all white enclaves and can pretend it’s still 1962 California as long as they stay inside of them. They can afford the high costs of living there and high taxes. People who have moved here from California tell me they could no longer afford to live there. They also tell me about all the homeless street people, crowded highways, rolling blackouts and crime there now.

To get an accurate idea of the situation on the ground in a certain location you need to talk to both those who stayed and those who left. I have a rich uncle in California and life there is fine for him but it wasn’t for those ex-Californians who fled here to Indiana. It’s only a matter of time, though, before Indiana becomes like California due to demographic changes taking place in this state.

It is always a zombie invasion, being racist helps their white enemies. Their enemies can physically, politically, and economically attack other countries, and have the resulting demographic changing cheap labor too. America sided with Afghan pedophiles for 20 years.

White nationalist pat themselves on their back for Northwestern Europe’s brief era of human advancement. They hate the Jews but worship a Jewish demigod, and credit him for their brief advancement. Some even try to claim they are the real Jews. Many years ago I did a lot of stand up comedy professionally and apart from the drinks, drugs and poontang that resulted from doing it there were times when it goes very wrong and it feels really bad indeed and there’s no hiding or escape. Doing stand up means that the feedback one gets is constant and unfiltered so there’s only very limited control, but most of the time it was just a magical feeling of creative power and expression.

The biggest delusion working class or working poor whites in the USA have is that their upper-class or affluent brethren will fight the good fight with them.

Again, look at recent history in South Africa.

The white American middle class bears a resemblance to the Boer: both are often of Dutch & French Huguenot stock with some German thrown in.

Like the Boer was abandoned by the Mercers & Lansbury who had the means & skills to flee South Africa or maintained ties to their British relatives, the upper-class of the US will flee. Donald Trump already claimed he would when he lost the election.

The wealthy South Africans moved to Australia & the poor Boers to London to use their law degrees to work as laborers…only the USA does not belong to the Commonwealth & poor whites can go nowhere.

  79. @Trinity

Maybe he belongs to one of them fragile races the Jews keep talking about at their publishing companies.

NO ONE believes ALL whites in SA are experiencing white genocide. The privileged among them live well with black servants, much like French colonialists in Vietnam with their yellow servants.

But unless you got that extra privilege, SA is a bad place for whites.

It is also a powder keg.

And I’m the ultimate race-ist, bar none.

  81. @Linh Dinh

At the very least, let’s all agree that I’m the only true race-ist.

Not Dinh, not you guys. Just me.

  82. Blade says:

Well, that’s it? Unz can definitely give the ability to moderate comments to all authors who want it. I see no problem with that. I understand free speech concerns, but if an author feels ownership towards a page where their article is being published, that is fair. I doubt anyone would use it to silence criticism, and those who do would eventually lose readers anyway. So I cannot really see why he would deny Linh (or any author) the ability to moderate comments if they ask for it.

Also a side note: someone commented that he doesn’t like your hostility to Jews, while I don’t like or dislike anyone’s feelings without knowing the details (there may be valid reasons for one’s feelings) I cannot help but wonder why you dislike Jews partially because you are Vietnamese not necessarily a group of people who have much history with the Jews. Maybe write about it once Ron gives you the ability to moderate articles? I am also curious why would Ron, being Jewish himself, would be allowing blatant antisemitism in some articles (just free speech isn’t really a satisfying answer IMO)? I mean I am just an observer, but it appears to me that if ten people do something bad, nine of them get ignored and the tenth is blamed for being the Jew. Too many authors and commenters focus too much on the Jewish role in everything as well. Whether it is illegal migration or degeneracy, all gets blamed on Jews even though almost all these perceived or real threats are mostly consistent and logical within the historical and natural context. Why is that?

Either the case is you don’t really have any actual arguments against these people or it’s just more proof that these insane multiracial, multicultural, multiconflictual societies don’t and can’t work if you can’t even stand seeing people who don’t agree with you.

  85. T_T says:

Anonimity is great its more raw, you of any people should appreciate that.

There are different types of danger, going into a bad neighbourhood for a day or week probably does nothing. Living there 365 days a week though that risk is going to add up. The dressing not like a bum, like mant jobs and woman unofficially dictate, is going to put a target on you. Being a female usually is aswell, blond with a fat ass more so.

1 in 5 whites in sa have already migrated, equal number of educated blacka leaving with most whites having stories of family being raped, maimed, robbed etc. Being in a safe neighbourhood in a unsafe country is going to put a premium on it. Too few ole black woman whipping the gangbangers of the street as used to happen, too many young ones spreading their legs for them. You only need a few asses to ruin a neighbourhood, blacks tent to produce more of them, and neighbourhoods arent self regulating anymore.

Also don’t throw a punch if you cant take one back, filter it out like adds in newspaper. Like the writing cheers.

  86. Rogue says:

As a White South African (resident in Cape Town) I didn’t find anything in particular wrong or objectionable with Linh’s articles about Cape Town.

Whilst I haven’t read lots of his stuff, I’ve generally enjoyed what I have.

However, and this maybe more in response to Kevin Barrett, the main issue for Whites in South Africa is that they essentially have no more say or power to shape their destiny in the country of their birth.

It’s Black rule and you are now just a passenger if you’re White. No more driving the vehicle. And anyone who thinks that SA is not being misgoverned or mismanaged is either thoroughly uninformed or just plain lying.

The details of this are numerous for anyone wanting to look into it.

The fastest growing political party in SA is a party of pseudo-Marxists with radical plans for seizure of land and “wealth redistribution.”
You may rest assured that a certain pale-skinned minority is targeted for this. The ruling party is already adopting some of these measures to head of the radicals, such as planning on seizing land (or other vaguely defined “property”) without any monetary compensation.

So sipping wine or eating at nice restaurants hardly sums up the ominous direction that South Africa is heading in. Quite apart from the fact that a sizeable part of the White population has been reduced to absolute poverty.

Anyway, for what it’s worth, I’d prefer Linh to stay at Unz.

Like many of you, I applaud Unz for his free speech policy, but it should be applied evenly, without tiers of favoritisn, or apartheid, if you will. Sailer should be as exposed as I am.

He’ll be exposed to MORE, if it’s up to me.

Sailer is one of these left-over knuckleheads from the 90s who still don’t get it: The Bell Curve is a JOKE.

A disciplined and hard-working society creates wealth. This wealth allows us useless pleasures: Poetry and song and novels. Professional sports and expensive gyms. Power for silly toys like radio and television.

People at the receiving end of the fruits of a hardworking society might well indeed sit on the shiny end of the Bell Curve. Only if the discipline and hard work continues.

IF IT DON’T, that’s the last effing place you wanna be. The Bell Curve is an effect, not a cause.

    @Linh Dinh

My basic contention is this: why allow Sailer and Karlin moderation power (thus protection from idiotic hecklers), and deny it to me or Fred Reed? Craig Roberts doesn’t even allow comments.

    […]

How about if there are no comments after my articles for a month?

What would your opinion be, if Andrew Anglin were to request the same moderation power, on the basis that I recently made a string of harshly critical, condescending and contemptuous, vehemently condemnatory, and overall quite personally insulting comments on his articles?

In the abstract, Mr. Dinh, if I do not consider the particulars of your case, I would tend to agree with you for reasons that I will presently set forth in a separate comment.  If I were to write articles here, I may wish to ban a few noisemakers—just because they tend to clog the threads with repetitive, unproductive nonsense.  For example, I would probably ban the aptly-named “Dumbo”.

But on the other hand, one of the reasons why I applaud Mr. Unz for publishing Mr. Anglin here is that Mr. Anglin does not control the moderation system.  I note that although Mr. Sailer probably hates me, he usually¹ publishes my comments, albeit after a long delay.  (I have not yet tried commenting on any of Mr. Karlin’s articles.)

And when I consider the particulars of your case, Mr. Dinh, I think you are simply thin-skinned crybaby—unable to take criticism.

Some of the examples that you quote are very poorly stated, but they probably reflect better criticisms which you would not want to quote.  Could you be trusted not to suppress the latter?  (I did not read the discussion.  You are a lunatic Moon Landing Denier; thus, you lack credibility, and I do not generally waste my time with your articles.)  And so what if someone called you a “gook”?  At least the slur is properly applicable to you.  I have had tossed at me various insults, slurs, and labels which do not even apply to me—plus ridiculous, unfounded wild accusations from total idiots drunk on personal jealousy and confirmation bias.  Again:  So what?

Below is an email I sent to Ron Unz seven hours ago.

I usually encourage people to settle such matters by a polite email.  Unfortunately, people in Mr. Unz’s position get taught the lesson that emails may be improperly, unexpectedly spilt out in public.  The result is, for example, that Kathryn Paige Harden is probably afraid to reply to Jared Taylor’s email.  I would hope that Mr. Taylor would comport himself as an Aryan, and it seems reasonable to expect that of him; but nowadays, who can be sure?

If Mr. Unz sends you a reply by email, do you intend to publish it?  This is a very important question.

This airing of private discussions, to apply pressure for a desired reply:  Is that a feature of Vietnamese culture, Mr. Dinh, or is it something that you picked up from the rhymes with triggers on whom you are allegedly reporting in South Africa?

If you see me here again, it means he has agreed to my proposal (at the end). If not, then that’s that.

A bit of career advice for you:  In the publishing business, publicly threatening to take your toys and go home is rarely a good way to get what you want from a publisher. ®

    ——————————
    1. Exactly one of my earliest comments on the Sailer Blog seems to have gotten lost.  The rest have all been published, including some that Mr. Sailer almost certainly hates—although one got a “More” tag added right before I approvingly cited one of Mr. Sailer’s colleagues at Taki’s Magazine.  I give Mr. Sailer credit.  His more or less judicious use of his moderation power is probably why Mr. Unz grants that to him.

He did say in this interview that it took him a long time to find out that Jews control America. Maybe he hasn’t investigated the situation in Southeast Asia enough, and in Vietnam he lived in a remote place away from all the movers and shakers. He did mention that the recycling plant he worked at was processing junk from PC China, if I remember correctly. I wonder if some Chinese dealings played a role in the family company going down.

Anyway, I’m sure many Jews who read his blog feel uncomfortable and offended, but he doesn’t care about that, yet he expects others not to hurt his sensibility. He has referred to himself as a “gook” (perhaps in reference to how others call him, but still) yet he’s upset when someone else uses it; just like the blacks with their favourite self-descriptor word.

  90. I don’t see what the problem is.

Don’t like the comments? Don’t read them.

To tell the truth I think that Ron Unz does practice subtle moderation, especially excluding references to some rivals in the conspiratology sphere (“crackpots” according to him), but allows vulgarity and insults.

Mr. Dinh said on September 18, 2021 at 2:34 am GMT:

    …thus protection from idiotic hecklers…

…the clawers and screechers who are befouling Unz Review.

New conspiracy theory:  Crackpots and their idiotic heckler colleagues can’t stand being called out for what I believe to be an anti-German, anti-science Jewish hoax.

In an article published on April 8, 2019, Linh Dinh wrote:

Just now, Ron Unz published “The Moon Landing: A Giant Hoax for Mankind?” by one MOON LANDING SKEPTIC, but on April Fools’ Day, and with a long disclaimer as the first comment. Though most commenters joined Ron in howling at the piece, Kevin Barrett, Godfree Roberts and Jonathan Revusky supported it, and I’d like to add my name to this list…

The comments section for Mr. Dinh’s said article then became the new asylum for lunatic Moon Landing Deniers.

On August 17, 2021, as a 2,200-word comment on Mr. Dinh’s said article, I published “Of Blessed Memory, and Moon Landing Denial as the Jewish Erasure of Names: May Raches’ Revenge strike down the Moon Landing Hoax Hoax!”  Thereby, I set forth the basics of a longstanding pet thesis of mine.  This is my own original Conspiracy Research, 100% my own work on an important topic:  I answer the question of who would be most motivated to deny the Moon Landings, and why they would be so motivated.  Cui bono?  The Jews!

Although Mr. Unz has expressed a negative opinion of the quality of my presentation, I can obviously do much better than I did in an off-the-cuff little blog comment.  I intend to promote my conspiracy theory on this critical topic, as my service to science and to the blessed memories of the dead.  We must forever remember and cherish the names of SS-Sturmbannführer Dr. Wernher von Braun ז״ל, Dr. Arthur Rudolph ז״ל, their colleagues, and their nation.

This evoked the ire of Mr. Dinh’s esteemed colleague and fellow Moon Landing Denier, Jonathan Revusky.  On September 9, 2021, Adon Revusky heckled me with a rude comment stating that I need “a brain transplant”.  I thought that was beneath more reply than a “Troll” reaction; but it did introduce me to the quality of Adon Revusky’s work.  Upon assessing that work, I found it opportune to opine on “Deconstructing The Matrix’s Matrix” (September 10, 2021).

On September 13, 2021, in reply to my cogent comment on Mr. Unz’s “horizontal approach” to 9/11, the illustrious and highly dignified Adon Revusky added constructively to the discussion, with his usual grace, decorum, and profundity of intellect:

Dude, why don’t you avail yourself of your Second Amendment rights, get a gun, and blow your brains out? Even a WW2 surplus Carcano rifle would do the job.

Just shove it up your ass and pull the trigger.

Emphasis is in the original—just as Adon Revusky saw fit to emphasize the most eloquent part.  Surely he is yet another shining exemplar of both literacy and emotional maturity.

    ——————————

If Mr. Dinh wishes to examine an exemplary specimen of the “illiterates” and “the clawers and screechers who are befouling [The] Unz Review,” he needs look no further than his fellow Moon Landing Denier, to whom he gave the above-quoted approbation—whom he positively wishes to join in the ranks of former authors for The Unz Review.

Alas for Adon Revusky, his comment was dismissed by me as unpersuasive and lacking in merit.  After all, I am a right-to-die absolutist.  I speak candidly, in philosophical terms, about why suicide is not only a truly natural right, but even sometimes a virtue.  My equinamity will not be disturbed by 4chan-tier “KYS” remarks.  Perhaps Adon Revusky should have improved his stereotypically redpilledKYS” argument, by adding some slurs that are wildly inapplicable as to me; e.g., “kikeniggerfaggot”—maybe also “dumb gook”.

Now, far be it from I to blame one man for another’s actions.  Unless they are conspiring.  Hey, we are in conspiracy theorist territory here—so deep in conspiracy theorist territory, Mr. Dinh seems to think it’s wrong for Mr. Unz to publish a Moon Landing Denial article on April Fools’ Day.  By Internet Conspiracy Theorist rules, if someone mentioned someone else approvingly, and they both express similar opinions in public, then they are assuredly conspiring behind the scenes—amiright?  Redouble this, when they are both part of a Crackpot Cabal promoting the Jewish agenda of Moon Landing Denial—and when one of them is named “Revusky”.

Mr. Dinh, would you care to comment?  If not, please be advised that by Internet Conspiracy Theorist standards of evidence, I can convict you on the grounds that you did not deny it!  (← This is sarcasm, almost as much as my proposition that my Moon Landing Denial essay scared you away from The Unz Review.  I must note this explicitly, because the Internet is overpopulated by talking simians.  The following is not sarcasm: →)

More importantly, Mr. Dinh:  Would you support the banning of redpilled Moon Landing Deniers whose best argument is, “get a gun, and blow your brains out… just shove it up your ass and pull the trigger”?  My hecklers are worse than your hecklers.  I think that proves that I am awesome, and you’re just whining.

And most importantly of all, Mr. Dinh:  If you were granted moderation powers, would you wield them to suppress critics who point out that you are a lunatic Moon Landing Denier? ®

  94. If Whites have a future in the countries that they founded and built, and if civilization itself has a future it will be because Whites rediscover that their ONLY future is as racists. Racism is the result of White courage and moral rediscovery.
Anything less is simply more surrender and more defeat.
And let’s not get all happy-clappy about civilization. ALL successful civilizations are based on the skillful and persistent application of organized violence against enemies both domestic and foreign, and against criminal scum.
    Whites are remembering these facts.
Another fact that Whites are swiftly remembering is that Jews are NOT Whites. Jews are the self-declared enemies of Whites and civilization. They are also not ancient Hebrews. They are ambulance-chasing, false victims and criminals of some mix of Central Asian.
I enjoyed Linh Dinh as a light-weight travel writer. As a serious man in the fight for civilization, he is just another advocate of denial of racial reality and of surrender to third-world savagery and the Leftist cult of the stupid, the ugly and the immoral. He is irrelevant.

You don’t know these people (if they are people) and wouldn’t want to. Most of them come across like basement-dwelling Ted Kaczynski types, angry that their mom just hiked the rent, and projecting their impotent adolescent rage onto any convenient target.

Published writers inevitably get some bad reviews, sometimes from critics with personal hobby horses and demons of their own that have nothing to do with the work being reviewed.

Semi-rational critics might deserve a brief rejoinder if there is any factual hook to work with. But the obvious emotional wrecks spewing amorphous hostility just need to be skipped over. They can’t be reformed; they can’t be helped; and their injured-animal cries of pain probably have nothing to do with you.

I don’t understand why people like Linh and Paul Craig roberts get so exercised about the comments at Unz review. Why be so thin skinned? The point of Unz review is that all points of view will be aired, however odious they may be to whomever.

I love Unz review, but as one who has never visited South Africa, Linh’s description is roughly exactly how I expected it to be! Not much different from heavily black enclaves in the US actually. Blacks are not physically excluded from pricey neighborhoods, they are priced out. So am I, for the most high end areas! I imagined Cape Town is a city state like enclave preserved by certain monied elements in a similar manner as New York was under blumberg; stop and frisk for me but not for thee, lol! I have long renounced to share many UR articles with my European White acquaintances. The raving madness of some racists and IQ-ists, including a few authors, would be seen as irrational lunacy by most educated Europeans.

Plus, I’d have to log in ten times a day to go through comments. Several Unz writers have tried to do this, only to give up because it’s such a time-consuming pain the ass. A better solution, Ron suggests, is for me to tell him which raging trolls to ban.

SS-Sturmbannführer Dr. Wernher von Braun and his team developed the V-2 rocket, which rained down hellfire on London in 1944.  The V-2 rocket was the first man-made object ever to enter outer space—a quarter-century before 1969.  At the War’s end, the same rocket team was working on the A-9/A-10, which would have been the first ICBM.  The A-9 would have been capable of hitting targets in America from launch sites in Europe.  Together with the nuclear bombs that Germany was also developing, these were the types of “superweapons” that Hitler said could win victory as late as 1945.  Hitler was clearly right:  If only the German army could have held off the enemy beyond the Reich borders for a few more months, then the German victory would have been decisive, and the free world would have been saved!

After the Americans brought SS-Sturmbannführer Dr. von Braun and his team to the United States in Operation Paperclip, these same German rocket scientists spent the next two and a half decades improving their rockets—with the full backing of American military and governmental resources.

Oh, but you claim that the Saturn V was “a ‘miraculous’ rocket engine technology that suddenly came out of nowhere in 1969”.  You thus imply a total denial that the V-2, the A-9, and all subsequent work by Dr. von Braun, et al. ever existed.  How the Jews must love to see you say that!

Of course, none of this technology “disappeared” after 1972.  The technology itself still exists.  You obviously do not know anything whatsoever about the stupid politics that led to the cancellation of the Apollo program on the one hand, and on the other, the refocusing of NASA’s strategy on the program to build a reusable Space Shuttle.  For such reasons, plus the Jewish attacks on Dr. Arthur Rudolph, Professor Oliver complained in the 1980s that the Jews had ruined NASA. ®

It’s unfortunate that you’re leaving the site – your writing makes for a different tone than many other pieces here.

You are also correct that many of the self-conscious whites who comment here are vulgar and idiotic.

However, if any of these commentators or writers were to identify themselves the powers that be would use every method to destroy them, at every level. An intellectual (and once elite member) Asian will always get a pass compared to a white or lower middle class dissident (though perhaps a higher ranked white would get even worse punishment).

If you pretend that isn’t true then you are disingenuous.

It is actually ‘fellow’ whites who suppress the others and that explains much of the bitterness of their discussion.

There are those who have contempt of these dissidents for that fact its their own people and that they cannot face such force directly (a fact none of them can alter with any significance – only receive punishment). If that’s your attitude – or perceived attitude – that might justify you receiving such hostility. If that is actually your view then good riddance.

Who knows – as things progress these dissidents may come to be able to meet out the treatments the Vietcong and North Vietnamese dealt out to traitors, and all other enemies.

Nevertheless, I think all Muslims should be paid to leave western countries and go to live in countries where their customs fit those of their compatriots. They don’t fit in with the customs of any country that isn’t explicitly Muslim, and consequently they will eventually be ejected with violence later if they don’t go peacefully now.

After all, this is already a policy at Unz, as stated a while back. It just hasn’t been enforced.

It probably hasn’t been enforced, because unevolved simians who are simultaneously stupid and rude only discredit themselves and their own causes.  If some heckler’s very best argument is to call you a dumb gook, then that leaves you looking better than you deserve.  Since I am smarter than you are, and I am not such a “pussy” as you are (thereby quoting the insult that you project onto white people), I was thrilled when your esteemed colleague told me to “get a gun, and blow your brains out… just shove it up your ass and pull the trigger”.  I do not want for Mr. Unz to censor that:  It shows the world how awesome I am!

Mr. Unz himself is smart enough to know all this; and he is tough as nails.  I have noticed that some of the comments here are extremely vicious towards him.  Obviously, he has the ability to suppress those anti-Unz insults and personal attacks—if he wants to suppress them.  Well, as he himself observed on August 29, 2021 at 7:36 pm GMT:

My own impression is that many of the most energetic pro-vaxxers are the worst enemies of the pro-vaxxing campaign, just like many of the most energetic anti-vaxxers are the worst enemies of anti-vaxxery.

That’s pretty typical of lots of ideological battles.  For example, I’ve noted that many of the pro-China activists who participate in this website severely damage their own cause, as do many of the anti-China activists.

I sometimes wonder what fraction of all these people are actually paid saboteurs of the other side…

Besides my being sincerely aggrieved and outraged at bad behavior, this is why I spend so much time debunking anti-vaxxer liars in the anti-vaxxer threads.  I am unvaccinated as for Covid.  I want to protect my right to remain unvaccinated, if I so choose.  This means that for exactly those above-quoted reasons that Mr. Unz observed, I must annihilate badness which others may wrongly perceive as being somehow on “my” side.

In Jared Taylor’s thread about Kathryn Paige Harden, whereas Mr. Taylor’s own behavior has been courteous and professional, I was really upset by some of the base and baseless, vulgar, viciously rude and insulting things that some poo-flinging monkeys were claiming about Professoress Harden—not only without evidence, but contrary to all available evidence.  At first, I was a bit at a loss for how to deal with it.  Besides pointing out that some of the purveyors of that nonsense were generally discreditable, I—well, let’s just say that I know how to work psychological magic, and Tyche smiled on me.

If Prof. Harden ever perchance reads that thread, I know that despite herself, she will laugh when she sees one of the hecklers claim that Ann Coulter is a “well-known tranny”.  And I want for her to know whom she has to thank for the pleasure:  An overtly racist avowed eugenicist who admires Adolf Hitler.

On my own site, or if I were granted any moderation powers here, I would suppress much of the repetitive garbage that I see as tantamount to spam.  That would improve the quality of discussion.

But if my enemies want to tell me to kill myself, or to nickname me “Rachel”, or to insist that I must be mentally ill as the only response to my showing that the person so claiming is an admitted hallucinogenic drug user who wildly evades and diverts my objective arguments to personalize the discussion ad hominem against me, well—I actually want to let them do their worst at least once—videlicet, to show themselves at their worst.  At least once. ®

  137. I have not read the essays or comments in question. Did listen to this interview. Pretty scattered. Linh is overreacting, unfairly and inappropriately.

You (White) guys are impotent… You caused this disaster… They caused one refugee crisis after another.

By definition the impotent (disenfranchised) Whites complaining could not have caused these large foreign policy disasters and refugee crises. Only perhaps if they were the political leaders and owned the media. So Linh blurted out a non sequitur. And this interview was littered with them. Linh knows better, but he is all bent out of shape from goads and guttersnipes.

If some of the Trolls are paid, who is paying them? And how do you know they are White? Linh takes on Jewish power very directly at times. They could be swarming him now, pretending to be White bigots. I call it the Michael Kadar effect. He was the Jewish guy (maybe with a little help) who got in trouble for making some ~2000 “anti-semitic” calls and acts of intimidation, including bomb threats against commercial airlines. Imagine having 50 Michael Kadars doing this to you.

Praising the nice weather, food and architecture of some neighborhoods in Cape Town adds some contrast to the situation in South Africa today, but largely Linh seemed to corroborate the danger, divisions, disfunction and trend towards more decay and hardship. I was hoping he was going to speak about visiting the countryside, to hang out with White farmers who may have some dire stories of invasion rape, torture and murder, and rural blacks and how they are doing on their newly acquired haciendas.

Or perhaps a Jewish-Black alliance (?) where some brains are behind the racial attacks on White farmers, with the key plan to buy the real estate for a song after the blood gets mopped up? i.e. Hoping Linh gives a dispatch from the country side, and also explains the how all of why Jews are so successful in South Africa. Along with the nuance and humor and Sun Also Rises, okay. Thx.

No country for white pussies? No country for Vietnamese pussies too, I guess.

And I stopped reading Steve S. entirely over his utterly stupid, inefficient moderation bullshit. He’d freeze my post for days because I said something he didn’t like (was it “hate” speech, Stevie?) and then let some other guy screaming nigger through. He obviously was too overwhelmed to moderate and he took on more than he could chew.

Hey how about you guys just man up and let it all come in? Listening to Linh rant endlessly about some insane asshole who makes comments on his articles just makes him look weak. For Linh, evidently it’s no Unz Review for pussy boys.

And by the way, this part is a response to Linh’s latest and last article on Unz where he puts down on some guy who talked about black people and their musky smell. Linh? I’ve lived with black people, had black girlfriends and yes, Linh, black people do smell different. It’s musky,. That guy wasn’t dissing black people! He was stating a true fact.

And finally, it’s a good thing few women are on Unz because they have nothing of substance to say by and large and are ruled by “the feels” not logic. Tone is more important to most women than anything rational. You should rejoice that there are few women on Unz. And you should reject acting like a woman with your “I’m so hurt” nonsense. Glad I am not the only one who noticed.

Some time ago, I started to perceive a perhaps innerly fought, still impossible to mute at all times, anti-White (and anti-White civilisation) animus popping up here and there in Dinh’s writings (like drops of water from a container that should be, but can’t be, fully water-tight).
Whites being whites and taking racist animus towards them very differently than any other racial group, they kept reading the columns and commenting as if it wasn’t there, while any other group, be it Jews, Chinese, Blacks, South Americans, would have shortly and loudly booed him away from the site.

Dinh left the Unz Review quite some time ago as far as I am concerned. Once I saw that it wasn’t an exceptional instance, but an anti-White vein surfacing not-too-often yet regularly (and with growing regularity), I stopped reading the columns.

One of the things Jews do right is they not only take distance from who insults Jews, they also take distance from who discounts or condones racism addressed at their group.
I’ll follow their good example here, and say that Barrett has left this website too, for me.

It’s interesting to note, though, how different the freedom of expression (and to insult) he wants for columnists, and for commenters, are from each other. I am very glad this website gives the same freedom of expression, including to insult, and, if it be the case, of being “stupid and vulgar”, to columnists and commenters. That’s what makes it different from the system if criticizes and opposes.

At unz and many other web sites that allow relative freedom of speech, I would say the comments are often better than the articles! I do say that, of course with the caveat that trolls, 14-year-olds, half-wits and various other barely-sentient internet users are an inevitable feature of any large discussion. They, of course, are particularly attracted to places like here, precisely because their sophomoric ass has been unceremoniously booted from most other venues. I say let freedom (of speech) reign, even if 50% or 66 2/3% of the comments would better be censored. The occasional gem, or even lucid and competent commentary, more than make up for the mouth-breathing detractors.

  149. ‘Does the Unz Review, America’s leading alternative webzine, err on the side of “anything goes” in its approach to moderating comments? Do the white identitarian writers there attract commenters who discredit the site? Listen to our discussion and weigh in in the comments section! ‘

You can’t win. If you don’t want censorship, you have to put up with a certain amount of spite and sheer nuttery. Personally, I find the ‘ignore’ button useful.

Linh Dinh – I’m glad you are staying, as I do enjoy reading your articles. They provide important insight on what’s happening in the rest of the world.

But please go easy on moderation. Consider that some of the rude people may intentionally be trying to make the rest of us look bad, purposely baiting you so that you WILL censor. Don’t give them what they want. They would like nothing more than making you leave. Just picture these types of commenters as coming from the ADL or something.

There are also others who are just shit-disturbers, those who get pleasure from causing others pain. It’s what puffs these psychos up. “Oh, look at the pain I caused! I must be worth something.”

Then there are those who are so terribly frustrated by what’s going on that they lash out. Their country is circling the toilet and they are furious. Forgive them, but do allow them to vent their anger. If all comments are amicable and sweet, then nothing really gets said, does it? I mean, you called us “white pussies”. Them’s fighting words. You must have assumed when you penned those words that you’d get an angry response, no? I hope you continue to make us angry and put a fire under us. Sometimes you need to hear harsh words.

I would recommend not reading the comments. Just let them fly. Whenever I read an over-the-top comment or an excessively rude one, I just stop reading it and skip down to the next one. We know when people are being unfair. We know.

Detach from the comments and don’t take them personally. I know that’s hard to do, but please consider what I said above. Consider the source.

    You wrote something very silly:

a “miraculous” rocket engine technology that suddenly came out of nowhere in 1969

That was in a run-on sentence which began with an outburst of ironic abuse (“scientifically-illiterate RETARD”).

Now, perhaps you were thinking about the F-1 engine, developed by Rocketdyne. Like the Saturn V rocket, the F-1 surely did not “suddenly” come out “of nowhere in 1969”. Or in 1968, when it was used to launch Apollo 8 on the first manned mission to the Moon, which the astronauts orbited numerous times before returning to Earth. (That one is my personal favorite, though I’m sure that you’d be baffled and enraged by my explanation.)

So, just when did the F-1 come out of nowhere?! Was that in 1967, when it was flown on Apollo 4, the first flight of the Saturn V. Well, no.

You might be tempted now, because of frustration, to guess that the F-1 came out of nowhere in September 1962 when JFK gave his famous speech declaring the goal of landing a man on the Moon. “But why, some say, the Moon?”, asked the president rhetorically at Rice University. Well, if that’s your guess, you are wrong. Again. By that time, the F-1 had already been designed, built, and test fired. There was even a design for a rocket, the C-5, which NASA had announced in January 1962. That design, with some modifications, was selected in 1963 and given a new name.

Why is that?

…Especially if one of your serial killers was at the COLHERNE. Nilsen & later Colin Ireland killed gay American tourists there, I believe.

Not always. Sometimes the Australian & American gap year backpackers reacted badly to gays & the visitors to the Earl’s Court stadium reacted even worse to gays.

It is funny really. Some clueless American tourist walking into the COLHERNE ARMS….”What does a man have to do to get a drink HERE!?”

For the heterosexual American student, however, the garden of delights were the “incredibly sexy models upstairs” in SOHO. These were Maltese grandmothers of 50 & rough girls from rural Northern Ireland back in the 90’s. Gone now, probably. Replaced by Russians or Gypsies.

At any rate, the South Africans really began to show up in London in the late 90’s when post-Mandela South Africa was collapsing into white massacres.

Again, I don’t know about now. I mean the Boers had always detested the British & then when the Rand was worth nothing they all have to go to the UK & live like a bunch of dogs in bedsits the South African Boers were very disgruntled.

I would not say any of the Afrikaans were happy to be there, but had no choice. Crime is still bad in JBurg of course but was epidemic in the late 90’s in South Africa, so there were waves of Boer refugees in London.

My issue with many of the American posters that Linh has mentioned (Though why he cares about a commentary for his articles I don’t know) is that they simply are so uneducated they are UNAWARE of geopolitics & have no business discussing them. They have not BEEN anywhere.

How can you discuss world politics when you have never left the country, was my point.

You can also understand how (THEY) are able to manipulate these fools so easily. I don’t think they could do that quite as adeptly with the British working class.

Just picture these types of commenters as coming from the ADL or something.

Indeed. Or they are people who, like the ADL guys, don’t enjoy people jealous of their race insulting it and them.

No, he didn’t assume he’d get an angry response. Because he had insulted Whites, and their civilisation, frequently in the last 1-2 years, and he had gotten no response at all, angry or anything.
So he got used to the pleasurable condition of venting jealousy, and verbal aggression, on a safe target whenever he liked, the same as other innumerable people, “columnists” and not, do by a long time across the whole West.
Whenever anyone needs to blow off some steam and verbally attack a group, Whites are there, bravely serving as the target that is completely safe, and will hand-clap who attacks it.

Now it’s like having a poll, and the wide majority of his readers (Whites of course!) tell him they have appreciated being insulted, the target of racial/civilisational jealousy, and want more of it. It’s reasonable he decided not to leave, and more of it will come — for they who enjoy it.
Who doesn’t enjoy that on the other hand is free to never read his columns, as I haven’t for a long time.

The day the majority of the White readers on this site (renowned for their ethnocentrism and racism, sure!) do no longer enjoy being insulted, they’ll make him — and the few others who discount or support his racism — leave just by not reading anything he writes.

Before I rebut this comment, and podcast in general, I want to say that I have lost just about all the remaining respect I had for Lihn Dinh. It wasn’t so much the whiny tone, it was the hypocrisy. This hour long bitch and whine fest was just chock full of insults hurled at the “scumbags and worthless cowards” readers of the UR. The column that caused fragile Dihn to break into pieces because of insults was titled “No Country for White Pussies”, where he was already baiting and insulting white people. You just can’t make this stuff up.

Dinh and Barret can dish it out, but they sure can’t take it.

My rebuttal for this comment is below and will be long, therefore I am going under a “More” tag before Ron Unz or some other moderator mangles it up.

    Dihn wrote this:

They routinely make bizarre comments that have nothing to do with my articles.

“Schuetze, “Like all communists, he has nothing and he wants to share it with people who have worked and created wealth. No, I don’t consider bumming around the planet and writing irrelevant ‘prose’ like this to be ‘work.’””

Here is my comment in its entire context:

First of all, a comment can be a reply to another comment, only a narcistic tyrant of a moderator will block comments in reply to other comments. Besides, ALL of your travel blog posts are little more than a jumble of impressions from your stream of thought, like your “white pussies” smear of an article.

My offending comment was in reply to this comment:

“I get the feeling reading Linh Dinh that he buys into, either consciously or unconsciously, the communist version of life.

Somehow all those whites living in substantial homes behind walls got there how? By theft? By directing some kind of racket aimed against the noble black poor?

Why not by providing goods and services? Why not by leading disciplined lives? Does owning a business make them Simon Legrees?

And what’s the solution? State ownership? Theft of private property and distribution of the spoils? God help us.”

My reply, taken out of context by Lihn, was completely on topic. It had one “Agree”, one “LOL” and 4 replies. I would contend that it was a good and appreciated comment. Here are some other comments from the thread I stand behind. Most are in reply to other comments, but they are all related to the smear of “White Pussies” by someone feeding at the tax payer trough:

Aside from being offended for being called “Like all communists, he has nothing and he wants to share it with people who have worked and created wealth.”, it would appear that Dinh didn’t like this bit: “No, I don’t consider bumming around the planet and writing irrelevant ‘prose’ like this to be ‘work.’” since he whined in this podcast about people calling him a “Bum”.

The context I used “Bumming” in refers to transient people who don’t pay taxes. It would be a synonym for Tramp, Hobo, or Vagrant. “Bumming around” was an expression used quite often decades ago, and it sounds just like what Barret describes when he lived out of a “converted Chevrolet School Bus”. Its meaning: “If you bum around, you go from place to place without any particular destination, either for enjoyment or because you have nothing else to do.”

As a father and grandfather who has paid far more than his share of taxes, I can attest to the fact that I despise taxes as much or more than anyone else. However, the welfare states that have been built up over the decades require massive amounts of revenue to maintain and keep operating. In the great depression bums were sent packing because they would be a burden on the scare resources of towns without tax revenue on the verge of collapse.

When a rich tourist arrives and stays for a few weeks and stays in nice places and eats in fancy restaurants he is spreading the sugar and contributing to the tax base. When a “Bum” or a “Hobo” or a “Tramp” arrives in town, he does not work or pay any taxes, an instead he uses the infrastructure and resources of the community. When Dinh arrives in town, he stays in the cheapest dive he can find and scrapes by without “spreading any sugar” the way a rich tourist does. How long will he stay in South Africa? Will he get a job and pay all the myriad of taxes that local laborers pay? Will he file income taxes on all his global income, and pay any wealth taxes and/or capital gains on his offshore property or wealth?

This is why I wrote “Like all communists, he has nothing and he wants to share it with people who have worked and created wealth”. When Dinh flushes a toilet, walks on the sidewalk, rides on transport or in cars on public roads, he is benefitting from infrastructure that was created off of the earnings of people who actually work. Dihn wants to benefit from this without having to pay for it. In essence, he wants to “share” this public infrastructure for free with the people who paid taxes to create it, and who pay taxes to maintain it.

So I contend that “bumming” was the correct word, and that “communist” also is not far from the bulls eye. Clearly Dinh is too thin skinned to be able to accept such criticism. I wrote in my reply to Dinh’s comment that he was leaving UR because of all the nasty commenters:

Who is the pussy now? A few harsh words and you melt like a fragile millennial snowflake.

Now we find out that after crying to Ron Unz over offensive comments that Dinh will be given the power of moderation. So now Dictator Ho Chi Dihn is going to impose his own personal Overton Window on the comments. Long Live Chairman Dinh, our fearless leader.

  196. @Irish Savant

I’m a bit disappointed and indeed surprised that you actively lament the departure of someone who is as frankly anti-Christian as Linh Dinh is. The kind of “tolerance” and warm welcome he thinks Muslims are entitled to in the West is precisely what no Muslim is willing to give a Christian.

The consistent counsel that the Pauline, Petrine, and Johannine epistles gave to the first Christians and those who followed them—to prefer their brethren in the Faith to all others—became, insofar as it was heeded, the indispensable building block of high Western culture and civilization. Once more heed began being paid to the Jews and to their insistence (one insistence of dozens, actually) that intolerance of Muslims was narrow-minded, limiting, and even ignoble, every formerly Christian society began figuratively going to hell—and its Christian and once-Christian denizens continue to do so literally.

I shall not mourn the disappearance from this site of an enemy of my Faith and of the societies that my Irish, German, English, and Bohemian Catholic and Protestant ancestors contributed to building.

I assume that relatively few people read the comments (as opposed to occasionally skimming them) for the obvious reason that anyone who actually reads them has far too much time on their hands. Even folks who don’t have a life and don’t need to make a living have a vast, inexhaustible treasury of high-quality writing available on the internet, and perhaps also at a nearby bookshelf or local library. Why in the world would anyone spend much time actually reading anonymous comments on internet posts?

Yes, I do usually read comments on my own posts, since that’s part of the job description. And I sometimes skim comments sections in the same way gold miners sift sand in search of rare, valuable nuggets. But since my time and attention are finite, I’m not going to waste them on relatively low-quality material, when there is so much good stuff out there.

So if you or anyone else can explain why you would choose to spend hours poring over comments on internet articles, rather than, say, reading Dostoevsky or Philip K. Unz can ban the idiots/degenerates/whatever, but publish a list of their names and better yet their comments in a separate location, so we can all see what we’re missing if we’re so inclined. There could even be a single free speech thread, where all the blocked comments from all articles get tossed, and where anyone who wants to debate them can do so. But to allow idiots/degenerates/whatever to pollute every comment section on the site is not viable.

  214. And be civil—not to spare my tender feelings, but because if you aren’t, you’re only discrediting yourself.

The sentiment of a fool, parroted by the fools who were manipulated brazenly by Dinh’s feminine wiles. Surprised “he” didn’t threaten commenters with a frying pan on “his” way out threatening the door. The whole drama, I was willing its promised conclusion, while knowing that the precious pixie’s word was worthless.

And one unmanly jackass after another soothed Ms. travelsmogging OneTrickPony, testifying that life would be unbearable without his guiding hand, his wit, his “unique take”. And whatdya know? LOL

Apart from rare lights, UR is the comments. I start with the comments on nearly every article, as skimming them often makes it clear nothing was lost by skipping the feature, even sometimes when the article’s good. Withstanding hostile comments is a man’s job, and RU should make it a condition of entry for writers, including the freak female with manly values. Were Dinh not drummed out for the comment tears, her following behavior should’ve met a firm ax blade.

LD drama = litmus paper, as binary and useful as digital computing.

UR has some excellent writers and some very unusual and well informed commenters ( impossible to find together elsewhere).

  217. @Kevin Barrett

Kevin, I posed this question to you in a private chat yesterday, but never got an answer.

Suppose that some anonymous commenter kept showing up under your articles and referring to your wife Fatna as a whore.

In such a case, would you want to have the ability to delete the comments?

(Or would you just shrug your shoulders and say: “Well, the guy is just exercising his right to free speech and I have no right to interfere with that.”)

The above is not a purely rhetorical question even if it might seem like it. I would like an answer to this. Because sometimes, talking to you is like talking to some kind of extra-terrestrial. You’ll affect that you don’t understand the most basic issues that any human being surely understands.

So please answer the above question.

About censoring the comments, quite a while ago I recommended that the Unz Review have a special RSS feed for censored comments. People like Unz don’t like to censor, but it is inevitable at some point. Just be open and aboveboard about it.

In other words, you don’t just disappear a comment. You dump it to the censored RSS feed with a reason for censorship. Like: “This comment was censored for excess profanity.”

I recommended this at the Intercept once or twice, before I stopped going there.

Lastly, I wonder if Linh has picked up some Ivermectin in South Africa? I know he was sick recently. Did he get tested for covid antibodies? Did he get natural immunity?

The Zion/ western MSM commenters disturb me the most. They have the real power in our world. This power is really destroying the world. Look at Libya, Syria, Iraq, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Honduras, or any nation the US/Zion coups or invades.

The “racist” commenters are living in a fantasy world, they have no power these days. I really don’t see tons of racist commenters, it is a small fraction, maybe I skip over them just like the Zion/western MSM support commenters.

Consider: Ad hominem attacks are proffed by out-argued scoundrels and the intellectually challenged.

But it’s okay when you do it, or when others do it in blowhard disguise (the usual tactic of the moronic tossers of ‘ad hominem attack’ dodges).

More often than not, criticism of ‘ad hominem’ is fallacious ad hominem (the relevant type) being executed. Dinh apparently does this regularly, since he’s too much of a travelogue ‘human interest story’ poser to research the topic on which he’s holding forth.

‘Ad hominem’-trigger schoolmarms are among the most vile intellectual frauds on earth, summing to this formula, convenient for the dull:

    Party X: [Argument, plus insult]
    Party Y: You insulted me.
    Party X: So?
Party Y: I win! Now I shall prance.

Note for habitual midwits: Accompanying argument with insult modifies the argument 0%. If you don’t want to argue with name-callers, disengage. However, you didn’t win because someone hurt your feewings, and it doesn’t automatically ‘discredit’ the name-caller.

BTW, sometimes calling someone names is the argument. That isn’t necessarily ignoble, and it isn’t fallacious.

If there’s to be an unofficial rule by which commenters are disqualified, could do much worse than blocking those who bitch about ‘ad hominem attacks’, or assert some hogwash about ‘credibility’.

Regarding racism; I think it is self evident that all rational people take race into consideration when it is a factor in making a decision. That doesn’t mean that all whites have an unspoken desire to lynch black people. In other words racism is human nature. And that doesn’t mean different races can’t get along. It means all people are racist.

The whole racism hysteria is another red herring ploy by our chosenite friends to distract us from real injustices such as in Israel, Egypt, Kashmir, Yemen just to name a few.

Regarding censorship at the Unz Review.

Consider Steve Sailer. Read any of his articles around 911 and the commentators responding to his articles and you feel as if you have stepped right in the middle of blue pilled central. The commentators all appear to be reading from the same conventional script that Steve has read. Virtually every one of them drinking the narrative kool aid about the three towers falling into their footprint because of planes flown by Arabs with only an occasional commentator daring to question what happened to WTC 7 or pointing out the role of the Israelis–the usual suspects and very often the culprits..

And they even have the nerve to cite NIST as an authority on what happened that day!!

Free speech is important, albeit an endangered thing, what with cries for “safe spaces” and “political correctness” and banning “hate speech” and the like.

To the rudest and meanest simply reply “Thank you for your esteemed remarks” (you can come up with ten times better responses along this line). With time many of them will slink away. Every group is extremely tribalistic except for Western Whites. I live in Eastern Asia. Each group is tribalistic and thinks it is the best. They tolerate a limited number of people from other tribes as long as they don’t compete in any way with the local elite.

In Thailand, they have hundreds of thousands of White men living here. A conservative estimate is those men bring over half of a trillion dollars yearly into the country. Thai government officials can’t wait to get them out. What they want is wealthy Chinese. They don’t even like the white tourists who number in the millions and spend a lot of money here. 266. Do the white identitarian writers there attract commenters who discredit the site?

    From my PoV, objectively yes.

If I want to forward to someone a link to a thoughtful rational essay posted on Unz, I look to see if it is cross-posted at another site. E.g., Phil Giraldi will also cross-post his content at Strategic Culture Foundation. If there is a cross-post link, I will forward that. If there is no cross-post link, I won’t send the Unz link.

Some essayists and many commenters at Unz challenge the very humanity of Blacks and Jews in the ugliest manner, which is why I won’t expose others to the Unz site. And also to preclude the inference that I am a fellow traveler with the “Uglies”. The perverse irony of including this very observation is that it will probably incite comments to this comment by the Uglies such as:

“Blacks and Jews are NOT fully human. That you don’t get that is your problem, not ours.”

The internet is a vast archipelago of ideological ghettos almost all which mutually reinforce ghetto theology. Unz Review is just one of them.

That said, the First Amendment is first for a reason. I am very glad that we Americans have it.

  269. I welcome some filtering of comments. Makes finding the gems easier.

I gave up reading Amren years ago because the quality of the comments was so low. I don’t have time to read bubba reminiscing about his favorite 60’s T.V. show when it has nothing to do with the topic. Some people would post ten times in a thread and say nothing interesting. If I wanted that I’d go to a bar.

Like Linh, I’ve done some low-budget trekking in sketchy areas. I appreciate his insights.

  270. @Blade

Well, you cannot get into a pissing contest with Dostoevsky on the internet. That might be just one factor.

Well, it’s one factor, sure. But the other, more general thing is that this kind of discussion forum has basic elements that can make it very addictive. When you post a comment, you get email notification when somebody replies and you go see what they said. Sometimes it’s favorable and sometimes they flame you and you are eager to flame them back, but the point is that this is intermittent reinforcement, which is the key mechanism in gambling addiction.

But obviously, I’m talking nonsense. We all know that nobody plays slot machines/ Obviously not. Why would they when there are such better ways of spending one’s time…

But seriously, it’s potentially very very addictive. It really is. Also, debating on internet forums is a game of sorts, and like with any game, you can get better at it. So, pinball and pac-man (I know I’m dating myself!) are horrendously addictive for that reason as well. (Of course, again, I’m being silly. Nobody ever played pinball or pac-man. Why would they do that when they could go to the library and read Dostoyevsky? For free!)

Even for the people who are just lurkers, it may have some of the same addictive qualities that a soap opera does. Or the fascination that watching a good food fight might exert…

Also, on occasion (less and less often, I think) interesting discussions do develop and one can actually learn some things.

The more I think about it, the more it strikes me how false Kevin’s conjecture is. I’m quite certain that quite a few people read the comment section. In fact, you see a lot of people saying that they don’t read Paul Craig Roberts precisely because there is no comment section!

Below that, as with rescue-fixation psycho animal hoarders, pretending to find hidden gems in the dregs of humanity is LD’s way of screaming (repeatedly) that he matters too, dammit!, even if his life is a repeat of The Hudsucker Proxy, modifying the Hula Hoop via the precious inability to create art.

Why is Ron Unz treating you different from Steve Sailer or Karlin? Did he say why he won’t let you moderate your comments? I don’t see the motivation here and I’m scratching my head.

I don’t know what type of comments Sailer rejects since I don’t pay much attention to his blog anymore. I’ve often suspected that since he makes his money off of donations, he’s likely receiving plenty of \$ from jewish donors and therefore there are certain topics that are verboten for him.

This is a great outcome. I do hope you’ll not overdo it though. I like the very light moderation policy at Unz and although I do sympathize with your feeling offended at being called “gook” and I really disdain the habit of some commenters who use the liberal commenting policy to make debasing remarks, I really feel that exercising some toleration for it is required in order to keep to the spirit of free expression, as long as the commenter is actually discussing some substantive point about the article or your writing in general. Banning habitual offenders who are merely being disruptive seems like a good compromise.

Look forward to reading more of your work.

So if you or anyone else can explain why you would choose to spend hours poring over comments on internet articles, rather than, say, reading Dostoevsky or Philip K. Dick (or Linh Dinh or Phillip Kraske or CJ Hopkins or any of the other excellent red-pilled writers out there—I’ve interviewed dozens) please enlighten me!

I will offer my explanation. When I was in yeshiva back in the mid-1980s, we were exposed to the Socratic method of studying a text with a partner, reading out loud together, and then slowly and methodically dissecting that text by posing questions back and forth to each other. It’s an incredibly effective way of learning. Up to that time I had been taught to sponge up information in high school and college. I did a good job of it which is why I was accepted to Harvard. But in yeshiva I came to realize that all that prior education was worthless because it didn’t teach me how to think critically at all.

So to answer your question about internet forums: they approximate the Socratic method because there is a process of give and take, of slowly learning more about a subject. This is invaluable and cannot compare to reading a book whose author is not available to answer your questions and whose material anyway is out of date.

I like to email authors about their books, and only rarely will they deign to reply. My motto is: if you cannot interact with an author and ask follow-up questions, they aren’t worth reading in the first place.

On a related note: I wonder if Ron would consider offering a subscription option (say \$20/month) that would allow us to comment unfettered by fear of censorship?

Ah, the day Jonathan Revusky imploded like a WTC tower. It was pretty spectacular.

    Topical too:

I really don’t know what do about all this now. When my last article came out, I asked Unz for moderation powers because I anticipated how much of an attack the article was going to come under and didn’t want to deal with it. Unz refused in a rather snotty tone really. So somebody like Karlin can ban me from his blog but any anonymous whack job can just show up and deface my article.

If I did have moderation capability, I’d just dump utu and Rurik and a bunch of these other gits into a killfile and that’s that. I don’t have to deal with their BS anymore. I certainly can’t continue in this vein, even if Ron wants to accept any more articles. I’d have to have moderation power.

Well, I’m pretty sure that over twenty years, Steve has never once mentioned any doubts about the official 9/11 story. What he actually believes I can’t really say.

But I do know that he has repeatedly expressed 100% support for Lee Harvey Oswald as the lone gunman who killed JFK and Sirhan Sirhan as the lone gunman who killed RFK, most recently just in the last few weeks.

On one of these recent threads, I pointed out that the official coroner’s report says that the bullet that killed RFK was fired at the back of his head at point-blank range, within just an inch or two, while all the witnesses agree that Sirhan Sirhan was standing several feet in front of him. Also, the witnesses, physical evidence, and an audio tape indicate that at least a dozen bullets were fired, while Sirhan’s gun only held eight rounds.

A day or two after my several comments on these points, Steve published yet another post about Sirhan the Evil Lone Gunman.

Also authors like Andrew Anglin, the shortest troll on the internet, definitely didn’t make the site more interesting. I don’t believe most people read the entire comments section, but if I actually read an article, I will skim comments to see if anyone has an interesting take on the topic.

I disagree that comment boards are good places to develop debating skills though. Then there is the fact that the older you get less interested you become in debating, at least that was the case for me. So I can see where Kevin is coming from, but I disagree with the tone that his assessment is the universal truth. I think you misunderstand the issue. Linh isn’t saying “I want to censor opinions that conflict with mine.” He says he is tired of racial and personal attacks that add nothing to the discussion.

Rubbish. His own examples in the post #54 prove otherwise:

Schuetze, “Like all communists, he has nothing and he wants to share it with people who have worked and created wealth. No, I don’t consider bumming around the planet and writing irrelevant ‘prose’ like this to be ‘work.’”

“Its no country for white pussies BUT Bruce Linh is there…as least that is what he claims. LMAO”

Please note that these are some of his choices for the worst of the worst replies after he wrote three articles in a row trashing the whole white race in an extremely unkind manner. This is the stuff he wants to censor (to start with).

The lame “adds nothing to the discussion” routine is the absolute favourite excuse for vain, thin-skinned, censorious commissars to pare down comment sections into meaningless, fan club-type, “like” generators. If Ron ever decides give this transitioning drama queen substantial, unsupervised, moderating authority he’ll turn all discussion into proclamation-applause feedback loop.

And here’s an email I sent today to Craig Nelsen, one of the few white American men with balls left:

Of course, LD, being a White supremacist, understands that Whites are just supposed to take such crap from ungrateful intrusive bastards of an alien race. Why? Because they’re strong and, well, superior, apparently. It’s LD’s shamed weakness and recognition of his place which baffles him regarding the crazy reality of him being pissed at racial insults while he’s supposed to insult racially with pure, permanent impunity.

There is no more committed and fervent White supremacist than one who strives to maintain proximity to and association with Whites (while pulling a Br’er Rabbit routine), for the survival of his situation rests on the backs of White culture. Our people created and sustained this country, and it’s so horrible a place that most of the world still clamors for entry. What hell that must be, hating the creator of what one cherishes.

The only reason intelligent and honorable Whites now consider removing to other countries is that we were invaded and occupied by snotty inferior aliens and shape shifters with no manners, taking advantage of a high-trust society. That doesn’t fully apply in Dinh’s case, but he has more than enough snot to compose the difference.

I think of LD as a modern Buffalo Bill from The Silence of the Lambs; he covets what he sees every day.

  313. Mevashir says:
    @Blade

I thought Yeshiva is a Torah study school of some sort. Do authors of Torah respond when you have questions or did you come to conclude studying Torah was useless after the fact?

Good question. You are correct. It’s not possible to ask the authors of the Torah anything, unless you go to their graves to beseech their responses, as many Orthodox Jews do.

In this situation partner study (called chevruta in Hebrew) enables you to dissect the text very effectively, far more than if you read it on your own. Rabbi Nachman of Breslov taught that just by verbalizing a question (rather than letting it float soundlessly in your mind) sets in motion processes that generate answers. But using this approach I think the honest result would be to conclude that one cannot reach certitude about anything in the Scriptures. And this is why, as you imply, I no longer study Scripture and hardly ever look at it.

I think if you took the chevruta approach to the giant argument between Catholics and Seventh Day Adventists, whose theologies are diametrically opposed, you would conclude that each side can marshal scriptural evidence to back their claims and it’s utterly impossible to conclude decisively who is more correct. This is the peril of scripture and organized religion in general: the need to submit to some interpretative authority who may or may not be right.

(I like to tell my fundamentalist friends that regarding their claim that the bible is inerrant and inspired, the works of William Shakespeare are far more so, since they were composed by (so far as we know) one author over a brief 30 year period compared to the bible’s 30+ authors over 1000 years!)

Today is the first day of the Feast of Tabernacles, called Sukkot, and I had a really weird experience yesterday just before the commencement of the holiday at sundown. (As I have written before, I do not attend synagogue or follow the Jewish religion, but the Torah festival calendar resonates within me. I believe it’s a wise system synchronized to the lunar cycles and therefore more in tune with the universe than the Western solar calendar. The moon symbolizes the feminine and therefore I think all cultures that honor the moon in some manner are more truly feminist than the vulgar West with it’s castrating feminism and arrogant repulsive forms of organized Christianity.) At any rate, I found a book lying next to the sidewalk that features a dialogue between the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu, called The Book of Joy:

Now the amazing thing is that Tabernacles is called in the Torah the Time of Your Joy and is associated more than any other Jewish festival with joy. And I found this book just lying there waiting for me to pick it up just before the commencement of this holiday! Then I opened the book randomly to page 225 and saw the Tibetan words Dukka, which means difficulty akin to bad karma, and Sukka, meaning when things go smoothly. In Hebrew Dukka means depressed and Sukka is the Hebrew word for Tabernacles, meaning lofty or elevated.

I mention all this because while I am sympathetic to many of the claims against organized religion by atheists like Richard Dawkins (not so much Sam Harris or Daniel Dennet, whose hostility and arrogance put me off), I reject their insistence that the world is a purely rational scientific place subject to the fixed rules of logic. The above experience with the The Book of Joy is an example of how magic permeates our lives on a steady if unexpected basis. We all experience weird synchronicities and acts of Providence (Fate?) that force us to realize that we live in a very mysterious place, and I think the atheists deny this and frustrate the human longing to experience mystery. What is art music and love to an atheist?

Also I think all the discussions here at UR about Covid and also the 9/11 investigation prove that scientists cannot be trusted because: (1) science is constantly evolving and exposing new levels of knowledge so the latest scientific breakthrough might yet prove to be flawed or defective in some way and (2) scientists are human and prone to vanity and lust for fame and fortune. They all too often act like political hacks selling their services to the highest bidder, like any hustling businessmen. So again I think the atheists are mistaken in their desire to see society ruled by a “coldly rational” scientific priesthood.

I think you misunderstand the issue. Linh isn’t saying “I want to censor opinions that conflict with mine.” He says he is tired of racial and personal attacks that add nothing to the discussion. How does paying \$20 address that? Are you suggesting establishing the internet’s first pay per insult comments board where authors can make pennies for each insult they suffer? 🙂

I wasn’t focusing on Linh’s grievances. This was just an idea I have been pondering and I threw it in here as an aside. The idea is to pay a small subscription fee that would allow us to post comments without fear of censorship. Sometimes Ron’s standards seem arbitrary, and although it’s his website and he is the ultimate arbiter, maybe the subscription approach would allow him to relax his guard a bit. And allow us to compose our ideas with more confidence.

(I do wonder if Ron actually reads each and every comment posted here. I estimate that maybe 60 comments get posted every hour by all readers on all article threads, and I cannot imagine how Ron is able to referee them all!)

Good morning from ‘los alto de Jalisco, Mexico”, where tequila is made, and send out to the world.
I come to this cite to read any article I find interesting. I usually don’t check who wrote it, just click and enjoy, and if I don’t like it, just go to the next article. I found this cite by accident, and man, am i glad. After 22 yrs in the US military, I needed something that would help me to remove all that propaganda from my mind. During 9/11, I suffered an infusion of hate towards the ‘rag heads’ who had the gall to come and attack us in NY. Man, oh Man! Our military is the most brain washed, propagandized group of individuals on this planet. We do believe anything that we are told obviously, from day one. So after a few years out, I came to realized that it was all bull. But then, we were paid to do the dirty work of whomever is ‘the deep state’. Then, one day while deployed in Africa, a person started ‘preaching’ to another, and the person been preached, said something that some how attracted my attention: “don’t preach at me, look we are killers, hired to destroy, to assist in stealing, to repress others far away from our own homes, thus don’t talk to me about the bible, since we are totally in opposition to its teachings’. Then I decided to retire.

So please, don’t get offended by what others thing, and say about you; mostly they do so for envy, or frustration and should not affect you and make you run away. I am a believer in |IOUSOUS CHRISTOS, and don’t care what the seven billion human beings say about it. press on!

Yes, I noticed the method of discussion in your previous post, thus learned something new. It is actually interesting and worth investigating as far as the educational outcomes are concerned. Well, this is the reason comments are worth skimming, for it allows me to see so many different people’s opinions or knowledge. Following discussion regarding religion and atheism, I don’t know why you opened that topic, but I am not an Atheist nor do I follow a religion. However, I agree with your sentiment about atheists like Sam Harris. Their arrogance is the mirror image of the religious arrogance (of many, who claim their religion is the truth, thus they are superior). There is nothing to be proud of something we believe or don’t believe.

We all experience weird synchronicities and acts of Providence (Fate?) that force us to realize that we live in a very mysterious place

I have my reservations there. The likelihood of something that feels weird/fortunate/mysterious with things or events that happen/exist around us is purely because we have a limited environment and limited random interactions as individuals. If that book was mistakenly shipped to you on this day, that’d be mysterious, but the event that you found that book today simply has to do with the fact that you are the type of person who’d buy a book that relates to your value system. Change your country, your home, and your social environment, and pretty much all those synchronicities will disappear. I am in the camp that thinks Bayesian Theorem is more than sufficient to explain them but will reconsider my position if faced with convincing evidence.

What is art music and love to an atheist?

I am not an atheist, but art and music are just forms of communication. It happens to be the case that some sounds do generate feelings of pleasure for some animals. Love is more complex, but ultimately a rational choice that wraps itself inside a magical package. I am talking about romantic love of course, feelings of mercy or compassion also tend to be confused for love at times, those feelings have more to do with the sense of kinship we feel towards other human beings. In that regard, similar behaviors have been shown by other animals as well but no one speaks highly of a sense of love among chimps or gorillas.

Well, I think your first argument does not follow. The fact that science is evolving is not a reason to not trust scientists, but having doubts is part of science itself so that makes sense. Then trust and doubt are not mutually exclusive, I think this is your Yeshiva education getting back at you. Personally, I am more likely to trust someone who confesses he was wrong given new evidence than a fool who repeats opinions with no proof. Your second argument is also a fallacy, you are basically saying “some scientists are prone to vanity, therefore scientists are not trustworthy” (I inserted “some” because I don’t think you’d argue all scientists are prone to vanity).

They all too often act like political hacks selling their services to the highest bidder, like any hustling businessmen.

I agree with this sentiment. It is a whole topic that is worth writing a book about. I wonder if Ron would be interested enough to write about it for I lack the patience and English ability. 🙂 But then again, that is not all scientists and also, there are more scientists today than ever, there is idolatry of money and widespread materialism so it makes sense. While I don’t believe that most scientists are like hustling businessmen, I’d agree so few of them have Philosophia.

So again I think the atheists are mistaken in their desire to see society ruled by a “coldly rational” scientific priesthood.

I don’t think most atheists are that insightful or bothered to think much about how society should be ruled. A position of weakness is also a position of comfort in a different way. You can want anything knowing fully well you will never get it. The same attitude can be seen in many minority groups protesting the majority’s morals or ways of handling things. I will not dive further into this topic, it is far too complex for a comment answer.

This was just an idea I have been pondering and I threw it in here as an aside. The idea is to pay a small subscription fee that would allow us to post comments without fear of censorship.

I think it introduces too many problems and doesn’t solve Linh’s grievances. Forum systems solved many of such problems, but then the site would turn into something else.

Whining about Jews isn’t helpful. The American racial right has been whining about Jews for 70 years now, and you can see how much good it’s done. Things have only gotten worse. Better to look deeper for the source of the problem of Jewish power, rooted as it is in the white man’s culture, the residue of a religion that worships a Jew as God. Better to concentrate on what white people can do now to retrieve the situation rather than what Jews did or are doing.

Change your country, your home, and your social environment, and pretty much all those synchronicities will disappear. I am in the camp that thinks Bayesian Theorem is more than sufficient to explain them but will reconsider my position if faced with convincing evidence.

I have experienced synchronicities in all the countries I have lived in (USA, Israel, South Africa). At all ages of my life too. Usually when I am least expecting them to occur.

Some would say that since Jews are “God’s Chosen”, then these synchronicities are just God’s way of communicating with me. I used to believe that, but I no longer do. I’ve read enough and seen enough to know that ALL people experience God’s Providence. I accept what the New Testament says about God showering his blessings upon all of us, righteous and wicked alike.

I think spiritual people are simply better able to perceive these things because they are looking for them. Sometimes at the end of a really trying day when I reflect back, I can see many good things that I was overlooking at the time. This is a problem for all of us: taking God’s blessings for granted. There were people in Auschwitz who perceived blessing amidst the horrors. In fact Jews for Jesus produced a video about Jews who came to believe in Jesus despite their suffering in the Holocaust and despite the fact that many of the SS guards taunted them for being Christ-killers (the video was condemned by the ADL):

I recommend a spiritual exercise I learned from my Hassidic rabbi Nachman of Breslov that I still practice today. It’s called Hitbodedut, which means Isolation, and involves going to a secluded place and vocalizing our thoughts to our Creator however you conceive of Him or Her. Here is a brief description of it from a Reform Jewish organization, so you can see that it is widely accepted not just in Orthodox circles: https://reformjudaism.org/3-steps-hitbodedut-talking-god-your-own-terms

Rabbi Nachman recommended doing this one hour every day. At first it will feel strange, but eventually it becomes second nature. You should aim for consistency over duration, so start with just five minutes on a daily basis. Here’s an example of how I might do this:

Seeing a threatening skinhead get onto the bus I am riding, I will pray under my breathe:

Father God, please keep this dangerous person away from me. I do not want to have to mace him like I did a year ago to another person in a similar situation on another bus. Please help this person have a dignified life, where he does not endanger himself or others and where he can realize the Divine Potential with which You created him. Grant him a happy and blessed life and enable him to be a blessing to others. Amen.

Rabbi Nachman taught that you do not have to go to a synagogue church or mosque to communicate with God in this manner. In fact those places often can be obstacles to genuine communication with our Creator because of their rituals that might be alienating along with their formalized rote prayers that do not speak to our souls.

You also can ask God to prove Himself to you:

Father God, please demonstrate that You are real. I’m not so sure. We live in a world of spiritual skepticism and hyper-rationalism. But I feel in my soul that there must be a purpose for my existence and there must be a Creator behind the Creation. I just cannot hear or see you through all the clamor. So I am asking you to make yourself real to me. Help me perceive your blessings and to be grateful for them. Fill me with your joy that can be experienced in all circumstances, even seemingly negative ones. Help me to be worthy of your creation and to be a blessing to others. Help me discover the Divine Destiny you envision for my life. Help me to love You and thereby to better love my fellow creatures. Thank You for listening to my plea. And thank you for the wonderful spiritual advice of Rabbi Nachman who revealed this simple method of discovering the Divine that all people can utilize. Amen.

    Whining about Jews isn’t helpful.

By posing that question I am not whining — I’m challenging a whining Jew to tell us what, if any, criticism of Jews [or Zionism or Israel] he/she would accept as fair criticism.

I highly recommend posing that simple question to any “victimized” Jew. You’ll find the results are revealing (& amusing). Mostly you’ll be ignored, or maybe gaslighted.

An honest answer to the question I posed (that, of course, he would want to just delete something like that) would show that he does not believe in a concept of free speech that is anonymous, totally unaccountable, and without limit, such that even insulting a man’s wife from behind a mask is considered “free speech”.

  348. @Pat Kittle

… The other said it’s OK to criticize Israel for not doing enough for Jews. I’m not making this up.

I don’t doubt it, Pat. For that matter, it isn’t especially difficult to picture a Jew making a daily resolve (= the Jewish equivalent of morning prayer?) to push himself and his fellow Jews to fret less about the feelings and opinions of co-workers and strangers and to place his family’s and his Tribe’s interests above all others. I suspect that “self-criticism” of that sort is pretty widespread among the world’s leaders in self-congratulation.

A charming aspect of ritual Jewish self-criticism or confession of inadequacy, such as it is, is that it is free of the requirement to perform any sort of penance. After all, Jewish haberdasheries stock ermine-trimmed overcoats and cashmere vests but not hair shirts.

I was taught as a child people will defend the very thing they identify with… Except for lawyers – that has almost always been true in my life experience. You thinking that describing someone with that label is a slur means you dont know what the word means or you are pricked in the heart. There are notable outward white supremacists on this site. I actually enjoy arguing with them. But I have no patience for those who dont know the meaning of words or are afraid to admit if they are something.

If not sitting already, please find a chair. I’ve some bad news; you should prepare yourself mentally.

I’m not Barbara Walters, and you aren’t auditioning for a host slot on ‘The View’.

Familiar with the real of Randy Weaver and family? They pulled that ‘white supremacist’ slur on him, and it was a large part of the machine cycle that ended with his wife and son murdered, life upside down. That was many years ago. Today, a man can be fired and unbanked easily if enough fools believe merely a false ‘white supremacist’ rumor spread by a scurrilous narcissist like you. And after you’d wrecked his life, it would be—checks notes—you as the victim. It’s all emission. No recognition of your duplicitous ‘standard’ nor its material role in modern America.

    in my life experience.

    “Lived Experience!”

Tell it to Randy Weaver’s daughters’ ‘lived experience’. Would they be wrong to be pricked in the heart thinking of a slaughtered mom and brother (and dog)? Such is the principle of your childhood. Give Joy my best when you eventually make it. You’re high in the running, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

    On ignore.
