A sense of betrayal seems to lie just behind today’s political discourse—a feeling of being left behind, a suspicion that those at the top, in media, corporations, politics, academia, and finance, have motives and goals at odds with those of the broader population. Put simply, Americans of all backgrounds fear and loathe a hostile elite. Political memes like “the Deep State,” “the 1%,” “Drain the Swamp,” “the Davos Set,” and “Masters of the Universe” each capture this feeling of alienation, suspicion, and helplessness.

Historically speaking, class rivalry is hardly unusual. But a political situation in which a ruling elite is actively hostile towards the population it governs is quite rare, but not without precedent.

With conservatives, the immigration question brings these feelings of betrayal to the surface, perhaps in their most pronounced form. The popularity of the chant “Build The Wall!” reveals this. “The Wall” is tacitly understood, by those who resonate with it, as a means of re-gaining control over their communities and country. In turn, both liberals and those who could properly described as political and social elites view “The Wall” as far more than a barrier to illegal entry: it is an attack on their values, if not a direct attack on them.

More than any other issue, the immigration question represents a yawning gap between elite and popular opinion, between the Republican establishment and its White voting base. If U.S. immigration policy since 1965—beginning with the Hart-Celler Act of that year—had ever been presented honestly, as leading directly to minority status for Whites by the mid-21st century, and if White people could vote on this basis while they were still some 85-90 percent of the country, it might never have passed. In a very real sense, this policy is illegitimate and we should view its effect in changing the demographic balance of the country as illegitimate. As I have argued based on the historical evidence, U.S. immigration policy stemming from the 1965 sea change is the result of the activism of an ascendant Jewish elite that now holds a dominant position in our culture—dominant in the sense that they are able to severely punish those who dissent from this project of racial replacement by, for example, slanting media coverage and threatening loss of job, and it is able to significantly reward those who go along with it—everyone who has any aspirations to public life understands what can and cannot be said, and great careers await those who go along with the system.[1]Kevin MacDonald, “Jewish Involvement in Shaping American Immigration Policy, 1881–1965: A Historical Review,” March 1998, accessed December 5, 2017, This change in the demographic balance of the country was accomplished by promulgating a new “science” of race, stemming ultimately from Franz Boas and his protégés and entrenched in the top academic institutions, by founding and funding lobbying groups and positive media coverage.

The second component of this onslaught is that so many Whites are enthusiastically engaged in this project. They understand the reward-punishment choices and go along with them. Furthermore, many Whites are genuinely motivated by feelings of guilt and a desire to be virtuous—a virtue defined by incessant propaganda emanating from elite universities and media and facilitated by a science of race and by invidious, politically and ethnically motivated historical accounts of the history of White America. Others are motivated by misguided, suicidal dedication to “principles”—especially the individualist inheritance of Constitutional government, individual liberty, etc.

The theme here is the same—betrayal by a hostile elite and complicity of many of our own people targeting a vulnerable population which they hold in contempt.

Recently, the phenomenon of “The White Death” has entered the public consciousness and received comment by mainstream and elite sources.[2]See, for example, Victor Tan Chen, “All Hollowed Out: The Lonely Poverty of America’s White Working Class, The Atlantic, January 16, 2016, accessed December 5, 2017, In a nutshell, working class Whites are dying at an increasing rate, whereas most studies show the mortality rates of non-Whites decreasing. For working-class Whites, almost every indicator of social dysfunction and depression are increasing: they are committing suicide; they are using drugs more often and with damaging results; they failing to establish families; they are sleeping more, watching television and streaming services, etc.

The opioid crisis is an intense expression of this broader phenomenon. The past two decades have witnessed a major increase in the use of prescription opioids as a means of pain management. Abuse has become rampant and a black-market economy has arisen. The most common of these drugs is oxycodone (marketed under the names OxyContin and Percocet); the synthesized drug fentanyl, which resembles heroin and morphine in its potency,

As the New York Times reports,

The current opioid epidemic is the deadliest drug crisis in American history. Overdoses, fueled by opioids, are the leading cause of death for Americans under 50 years old — killing roughly 64,000 people last year, more than guns or car accidents, and doing so at a pace faster than the H.I.V. epidemic did at its peak.[3]Maya Salam, “The Opioid Epidemic: A Crisis Years in the Making,” the New York Times, October 26, 2017,

Fatalities resemble those of a World War. Some 250,000 people, mainly Whites, have died as a result of the abuse. The journal STAT has estimated that some 500,000 might die as a result over the next decade.[4]Max Blau, “Opioids Could Kill Nearly 500,000 Americans in the Next Decade,” STAT, June 27, 2017, accessed December 5, 2017,

This story of the opioid epidemic cannot be properly told without an understanding of the dynamic between the working class and the American and global elite. This dynamic is similar in many ways to the framework of my book The Culture of Critique, except that, rather than positions at prestigious universities, contracts with top-notch publishers, and media influence, it’s mainly about the financial benefits to the Sackler family resulting in the deaths of around 250000 mainly White people—and still increasing year over year. As in The Culture of Critique, this was a top-down movement based ultimately on fake science created at the highest levels of the academic medical establishment, motivated by payoffs to a whole host of people ranging from the highest levels of the academic-medical establishment down to sales reps and general practitioner physicians.

A lot of the discussion centers around research by economists Anne Case and her husband, Nobel-winning Angus Deaton claiming that the increase in mortality comes from “deaths of despair [that] come from a long-standing process of cumulative disadvantage for those with less than a college degree. The story is rooted in the labor market, but involves many aspects of life, including health in childhood, marriage, child rearing, and religion.”[5]Anne Case & Angus Deaton, ‘Mortality and morbidity in the 21st century,’

My basic theory here is that it’s not really about despair. I argue there are two things at work here: one is the decline in our culture generally brought about by the 1960s’ counter-cultural revolution affecting health in childhood, marriage, child rearing, and religion. But added to that is a very specific situation involving opioid drugs that in turn is linked to academic researchers willing to falsify data for financial gain, a corrupt pharmaceutical industry, especially Purdue Pharma owned by the Sackler family, and lax government regulation of drugs because of manipulation by the pharmaceutical industry.

The General Cultural Decline in the West since the 1960s

First the general decline in our culture. One of the themes of The Culture of Critique is that in general people on the lower end of the bell curve have been disproportionately affected by the cultural changes that have come to the fore since the 1960s. This was especially a theme of the chapter on psychoanalysis that focused on the effects of the sexual revolution. In general people on the lower end of the bell curve benefit more from strong social supports — in particular, support for marriage and against out-of-wedlock births. In my previous life teaching developmental psychology, the chapter on the family had charts showing that beginning in the 1960s there have been dramatic increases in out-of-wedlock births and divorce, resulting in many more children being raised without fathers. This opened up new fields in child psychology as psychologists investigated the effects on children of these cultural shifts. The results are clear: divorce, single parenting, and births out of wedlock are strong risk factors in a wide range of child problems, including delinquency, criminality, poor performance in school, poor physical and emotional health and early mortality—exactly the outcomes emphasized by Case and Deaton.

A theme of The Culture of Critique is that Jews were fundamental to the success of the countercultural revolution of the 1960s, whether it was as leaders of campus radicals or promoting the sexual revolution. Chapter 4 is dedicated to the assault on traditional Western sexual culture by psychoanalysis and related movements, and I emphasize that this revolution had a disparate impact on different IQ groups. Jews suffer to a lesser extent than non-Jews from the erosion of cultural supports for high-investment parenting and the decline in religious belief. Because Jews are a relatively high-IQ group, they have been relatively immune from these negative effects.

A major theme of The Bell Curve is that divorce and other measures of family dysfunction are more common at the lower end of the IQ distribution. The only reason I use IQ is that it is studied much more and can be very precisely measured, but you could get the same findings by using impulse control. People at the lower end of the IQ distribution also have more difficulty controlling their impulses, they are more prone to instant gratification rather than long-term planning and would be expected to be more prone to drug addiction.[6]‘The psychometric assessment of human life history strategy: A meta-analytic construct validation,’ accessed December 5, 2017: As a result, they suffer more from the erosion of cultural supports for high-investment parenting—delaying sexual intercourse, not getting pregnant before marriage, etc. When I was going to high school no one was having sex in my school—a Catholic school where the traditional supports were strongly in place. But we have to understand that since the 1960s there has been a very successful attack on this culture.

There’s no question that traditional religious belief was a major part of those cultural supports. Quoting from Chapter 4 of The Culture of Critique:

As [Norman] Podhoretz (1995, 30) notes, “it is in fact the case that Jewish intellectuals, Jewish organizations like the American Jewish Congress, and Jewish-dominated organizations such as the ACLU… have ridiculed Christian religious beliefs, attempted to undermine the public strength of Christianity, and have led the fight for unrestricted pornography.” The fact is that psychoanalysis as a Jewish-dominated intellectual movement is a central component of this war on [non-Jewish] cultural supports for high-investment parenting. …

Although other factors are undoubtedly involved, it is remarkable that the increasing trend toward low-investment parenting in the United States largely coincides with the triumph of the psychoanalytic and radical critiques of American culture represented by the political and cultural success of the counter-cultural movement of the 1960s.

We should never forget that this war was inaugurated by Sigmund Freud, a fake scientist who hated the people and culture of the West and imagined himself as Hannibal conquering Rome. And of course, people like Freud have come a long way in accomplishing just that. This was not a revolution motivated by love of humanity but by hatred toward the people and the culture of the West.

These trends have occurred in all races but they affect Blacks more than Whites because on average Blacks are lower on impulse control and around one standard deviation lower than Whites on IQ. Blacks have always had higher percentages of out-of-wedlock births, but the gap widened to the point that now ~72% of Black births are out-of-wedlock compared to ~36% for Whites, with Asians having even lower rates (~17%).[7]Roger Clegg, ‘Latest Statistics on Out-of-Wedlock Births,’ National Review, Oct 11 2013, accessed December 5, 2017. This fits with Phil Rushton’s ranking of evolved race differences.. Sexual behaviors are heritable (genetically influenced): a study showed that before the sexual revolution, age of first intercourse was not influenced genetically because there were strong social norms against pre-marital sex; if there is no variation, then there can be no genetically influenced variation by definition, and as a result age of first sexual intercourse was not heritable.[8]M.P. Dunne, ‘Genetic and Environmental Contributions to Variance in Age at First Sexual Intercourse,’, accessed December 5, 2017. So in my high school, since no one was having sex, age of first intercourse was not heritable. But after the sexual revolution it became heritable: people prone to a slow life history pattern and high control of impulses were more able to delay onset of sexual behavior, avoid childbirth outside of marriage, and stay married. As would be expected given Rushton’s theory, the sexual/cultural revolution has been disastrous most of all for Blacks. In 1965, 24 percent of Black infants and 3.1 percent of White infants were born to single mothers compared to ~72% and ~36% now.[9]G.A. Akerlof, ‘An Analysis of Out-Of-Wedlock Births in the United States,’ August 1996,, accessed December 5, 2017.

But here we are going to concentrate on Whites. In his book Coming Apart Charles Murray notes that for Whites beginning in the 1960s, there has been an increase in crime, lower levels of religiosity, work ethic, and marriage. For the upper-middle class, marriage went from 94% to 84% between 1960 and 2010, but for the White working class it went from 82% to 48%. For the White working class, never-married went from 10% to 25%; and there has been dramatically lower work force participation. Murray attributes this to a loss of “virtue” but he doesn’t discuss the forces and motivation behind this massive cultural shift.

It’s common among critics of Murray to claim that these shifts are all about economics rather than the broader culture. From this perspective, in the America of 1963, a high school graduate might expect to find a job which would allow him to marry and permit his wife the leisure to stay home and raise children. He could buy a freestanding house and a car, and still afford to take the family on a two week vacation every summer. The wife would have been reared with a view to preparing her for the duties of marriage and motherhood; she may even have taken ‘Home Ec’ in high school.

The problem with this is that all the trends affecting marriage and the family started in the 1960s when the White working class was doing well, reaching its “heyday” (Case & Deaton) in the early 1970s and stagnating thereafter. The steep upward trend in social/family dysfunction begins in the 1960s and continues to climb until around 1990 when it temporarily falls back before reaching new highs. By 1970, when the White working class was at its economic peak, out of wedlock births had already increased 3-fold from 1960 levels.

There’s no question that the period from 1948 to the early 1970s was the golden period for the working class (non-supervisory production workers)—strong unions and no outsourcing. But since 1973, the income for this group has actually increased ~9% (Figure 3 of a Pew study[10]Lawrence Michel, Elise Gould & Joel Bivens, ‘Wage Stagnation in Nine Charts,’ Economic Policy Institute, January 6, 2015,, accessed December 5, 2017.)—much less than for college-educated, but this is stagnation. It is certainly not a disaster. By itself, it shouldn’t cause increases in mortality given medical advances in the area of heart disease and cancer.

The Opioid Crisis is at the Root of Increased White Mortality

Case and Deaton point out that any economic explanation must explain why stagnant incomes cause early mortality in Whites but not in Blacks or in Europe, and they have a chart showing that “even if we go back to the late 1960s, the ethnic and racial patterns of median family incomes are similar for whites, blacks, and Hispanics, and so can provide no basis for their sharply different mortality outcomes after 1998.” This also rules out widening income inequality (“your income is going up faster than mine”), and it also precludes loss of virtue aided by generous welfare and disability programs because Europeans also have strong programs in these areas.

(However, I should note that recently University of Colorado researchers claim that they will soon be publishing an article showing similar increases in Blacks and Hispanics since 1998,[11]‘Opioids and obesity, not ‘despair deaths,’ raising mortality rates for white Americans,’ Science Daily, July 20, 2017,, accessed December 5, 2017. but this still wouldn’t explain why these effects are not seen in Europe in several studies).

In general, according to Case and Deaton, the increased mortality among the White working class begins in the 1990s. The first cohort to really show increased mortality was the one born in 1950—they were 40 years old in 1990 and thus the first generation to experience the counter-cultural revolution as teenagers. For every cohort after that, the increased mortality from drug poisoning, liver disease, alcohol, and suicide starts at an earlier age and is steeper—it gets to higher levels faster. These trends are higher among men than women and vary by education, with Whites with high school or less showing by far the worst effects.

A 2016 article in the New York Times elaborates on the findings of Case & Deaton based on their examination of 60 million death certificates from 1990–2014, but pins the blame squarely on opioids, not on alcohol or suicide.“[12]Gina Kolata & Sarah Cohen, ‘Drug Overdoses Propel Rise in Mortality Rates of Young Whites,’ New York Times, January 16, 2016,, accessed December 5, 2017. “While the death rate among young whites rose for every age group over the five years before 2014, it rose faster by any measure for the less educated, by 23 percent for those without a high school education, compared with only 4 percent for those with a college degree or more.” They also found White mortality much higher than for Black mortality and argued that doctors do not prescribe opiates to Blacks because of fear they may sell them or become addicted, although the previously mentioned study by University of Colorado researchers suggests mortality for Blacks and Hispanics from opioid poisoning is also rising. The Colorado study also agreed with the New York Times study in not finding increases in deaths due to alcoholism and pinned the phenomenon squarely on the opioid epidemic. They note that mortality rates “took off around the time when prescription opioids became readily available, and it has kept rising steadily ever since.”

Given that the trend in mortality may not occur among Blacks and Hispanics and doesn’t occur in Europeans, we can’t suppose that the cultural shifts inaugurated by psychoanalysis are to solely blame. The general decline in the culture is separate from increases in mortality — just because your family relationships are dysfunctional doesn’t mean you are going to die young. However, I suspect that these two factors interact in the sense that if the cultural supports that existed up until the 1950s had remained in place, the White working class would not have succumbed to the opioid epidemic. Again, I stress that people with faster life history profile are less able to control their impulses and thus more prone to maladaptive behavior in a culturally permissive environment awash in drugs and where religious and other cultural constraints on sexuality have been removed. Putting these two things together— the cultural shifts brought about by the triumph of the counter-cultural revolution and the glut of opioid drugs — was a disaster for the White working class. In this regard it’s interesting that the first generation to show increased mortality was the one that became teenagers in the 1960s.

As I have noted, the problems disproportionately affecting the White working class stem from the changes wrought by the 1960s counter-cultural revolution. But the specific problem of increased mortality has to do mainly with opioids, likely in a context where working class Whites are less attached to their jobs—do not find their jobs rewarding, where they have available to them generous disability programs, where they are less likely to gain financially from experience on the job (unlike jobs where promotions are possible), and are more likely to experience pain as a result of their jobs than college-educated Whites. However, the example of European Whites shows that, even with very generous disability payments and the same profile for working class jobs as less rewarding, less likely to benefit from experience, and more likely to result in pain, there has been no upsurge in mortality.

My proposal is that the problem for the White working class is a greedy pharmaceutical industry that has manipulated government regulating agencies and mainstream opinion in the medical profession. A fundamental problem in dealing with this now is the cat is out of the bag. These trends toward increased mortality over 1999 levels will continue no matter what the government does about OxyContin. Increased regulation simply forces addicts into heroin and other illegal drugs. The latest data show that deaths from drug overdoses continue to increase, now around 65,000 per year, despite increased government regulation.

The Sackler Family Is Fundamentally Responsible for the Opioid Crisis.

This all started with Purdue Pharmaceuticals, owned by the Sackler family. This is an amazing and very depressing story.

Originally, OxyContin-type drugs were used only for severe pain — as continues to be the case in Europe, so their use was quite limited. Purdue’s program was to get OxyContin prescribed for even minor pain. Part of that was to claim that OxyContin was less addictive because it was timed-release, but simply breaking the pill up before swallowing negated the timed-release and they were well aware of that. Their promotional materials emphasized their humanitarian motives—what could be more high-minded than relieving pain without fear of addiction.

Purdue essentially created a very large community of people who benefited financially from prescribing opioids. They set up and funded organizations that lobbied for more aggressive treatment of pain by treatment with opioids. Millions were funneled into organizations like the American Pain Society and the American Academy of Pain Medicine and Purdue’s own advocacy group, Partners Against Pain, as well as to medical professionals willing to provide data supporting the movement. Purdue hired an army of sales reps to promote opioids to all medical personnel, from doctors to physician assistants. A consistent part of the pitch was to minimize addiction rates. Purdue claimed addiction rates were less than 1% by cherry picking studies that did not examine the effects of long-term use.[13]Art Van Zee, ‘The Promotion and Marketing of OxyContin: Commercial Triumph, Public Health Tragedy,’ American Journal of Public Health,, accessed December 5, 2017. Other studies often showed much higher rates, as high as 50%. This misrepresentation was at the root of the \$600M judgement against Purdue obtained by the US government.

The original study claiming very low rates of addiction was in 1986 by R. K. Portenoy based on 38 patients.[14]R.K. Portenoy and K.M. Foley, ‘Chronic use of opioid analgesics in non-malignant pain: report of 38 cases,’ May 1986,, accessed December 6, 2017.

Portenoy, of Metropolitan Jewish Health System in New York City, gained renown in the 1980s and 1990s for advocating consideration of opioid painkillers for patients with chronic pain of all kinds, at a time when such use was discouraged. In the 2012 WSJ interview, he conceded that research had not backed up the effectiveness of opioids for these types of pain and that the risks of addiction and other adverse effects were greater than he previously had indicated.

Portenoy also maintains financial relationships with opioid drugmaker Purdue Pharma, as well as other scores of other pharmaceutical companies, many of which have pain offerings: Afferent, Cephalon, CNSBio, Covidien, Endo Pharmaceuticals, Mallinckrodt, Grupo Ferrer, King Pharmaceuticals, NicOx, Prostraken, Shire, Solvay, Wyeth, Xenon, Archimedes, Baxter, Calloway, Flamek, Fralex, GW Pharmaceuticals, and Pfizer.[15]Portenoy Opioid Talk Sparks Controversy: Opioid advocate Russell Portenoy’s invitation to an upcoming NIH workshop is under fire. Medpage Today,, accessed December 22, 2017.

Once Purdue showed how much money could be made, other pharmaceutical companies jumped into the market. When confronted with data showing that addiction rates were much higher, Portenoy recanted his strong claims but still maintained that opioids were a great treatment for non-cancer pain. And in any case, the damage was already done.

Propublica to their credit has taken a major role in showing how doctors and various organizations benefit from the pharmaceutical industry. It’s a pervasive problem in all areas of medicine,[16]See for example, Alison Bass, Side Effects: A Prosecutor, a Whistleblower, and a Bestselling Antidepressant on Trial (Algonquin Books of Chapel Hill, 2008); Melody Petersen, Our Daily Meds: How the Pharmaceutical Companies Transformed Themselves into Slick Marketing Machines and Hooked the Nation on Prescription Drugs (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2008); Christopher Lane, Shyness: How Normal Behavior Became a Sickness (Yale University Press, 2008). but quite often it’s because they promote drugs that don’t really work compared to placebos. They are not killing tens of thousands of people. Nevertheless, the lesson is to stay away from prescribed drugs as much as possible and do thorough investigations before taking anything. This is an incredibly corrupt industry from top to bottom and it goes way beyond being a specifically Jewish problem. However, the opioid epidemic is in large part a Jewish story.

When it comes to pain management, Propublica emphasizes the roles of two Jewish physicians, Scott Fishman and Perry Fine, prominently associated with the American Pain Foundation which got 88% of its budget from Purdue and other pharmaceutical companies. Fine has been funded by at least a dozen drug companies and Fishman has had relationships with at least eight companies, including Purdue, for which he was a consultant, paid speaker and recipient of research support.[17], accessed December 7, 2017. They claim that all this financial remuneration did not affect their opinions. And if you believe that, you are an idiot.

The FDA also played an important role, for example, not reviewing Purdue’s promotional literature which included a video that claimed addiction was “very rare”; this was eventually removed, but the damage was done. And of course, even if addiction rates were low when patients used the drug as their doctors intended, many quickly learned to break the tablets up and snort it or inject it. Again, becoming addicted is more likely to occur in people who have less impulse control—those in the lower part of the bell curve.

Purdue left no stone unturned. Hospital accreditation groups also played a role. Hospitals were required by the feds to administer questionnaires to patients recording their pain experience on a 10-point scale, and were threatened with loss of accreditation if they were found to be allowing too much pain.

In 2006, it … became mandatory to poll discharged patients about whether their pain had been adequately assessed and treated during their stay. The change was put in place by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services acting on recommendations of the Joint Commission, the national nonprofit health care quality organization that accredits hospitals [which was funded by Purdue[18]Report to Congressional Requesters, ‘Prescription Drugs,’ December 2003,, accessed December 7, 2016.]. The results of these surveys are posted online and they contribute substantially to how the Joint Commission ranks hospitals. The results of these surveys can affect whether or not a hospital is eligible for Medicaid reimbursements, so scoring poorly can affect a hospital’s bottom line. In 2012, the Affordable Care Act made this connection even more direct when it gave Medicare the ability to withhold a portion of hospital reimbursement if patient satisfaction scores were low.

Unsurprisingly, under this regime, the number of opioid prescriptions increased dramatically. Worried that their survey scores would be low for not treating pain aggressively enough (and under pressure to address this), doctors began liberally prescribing opioids.(Jeremy Samuel Faust, ‘The Untold Story of America’s Opioid Addiction’)[19]Jeremy Samuel Faust, ‘The Untold Story of America’s Opioid Addiction,’ Slate, June 3, 2016,, accessed, December 7, 2017.

Esquire’s Christopher Glazek writes:

Flush with cash, Purdue pioneered a high-cost promotion strategy, effectively providing kickbacks—which were legal under American law—to each part of the distribution chain. Wholesalers got rebates in exchange for keeping OxyContin off prior authorization lists. Pharmacists got refunds on their initial orders. Patients got coupons for thirty-day starter supplies. Academics got grants. Medical journals got millions in advertising. Senators and members of Congress on key committees got donations from Purdue and from members of the Sackler family.

They flew doctors to “seminars’ in fancy vacation destinations. Doctors who didn’t get on board were offered speaking fees to endorse OxyContin.

The feds finally sued Purdue in 2007, with Purdue pleading guilty to felony charges, admitting that it had lied to doctors about OxyContin’s abuse potential. Under the agreement, the company paid \$600 million in fines and its three top executives at the time pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges—after thousands of deaths as a result of their actions. The executives paid \$34.5 million out of their own pockets and performed four hundred hours of community service. It was one of the harshest penalties ever imposed on a pharmaceutical company but how can one take it seriously when the people responsible got away with pleading guilty to misdemeanors at a time when by 2001 Purdue was selling \$1 billion of OxyContin yearly. In total, Purdue Pharma has made \$35 billion, and the Sackler family walked away with around \$13 billion.[20]Vijay Prashad, ‘Big Pharma’s Pushers: the Corporate Roots of the Opioid Crisis,’ Counterpunch, November 17, 2017,, accessed December 7, 2017.

Misdemeanor pleas for being responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of people while walking away with billions.

Perhaps the height of cynicism was in 2010, when Purdue reformulated the drug to be less easy to snort—very near the end of its patent on the original version. So it got more years of patent protection.

So the Sackler family is in the clear and is now posing as great humanitarian philanthropists. It’s well known that opioid addiction in mothers has a devastating effect on newborn babies:

Opioid withdrawal, which causes aches, vomiting, and restless anxiety, is a gruesome process to experience as an adult. It’s considerably worse for the twenty thousand or so American babies who emerge each year from opioid-soaked wombs. These infants, suddenly cut off from their supply, cry uncontrollably. Their skin is mottled. They cannot fall asleep. Their bodies are shaken by tremors and, in the worst cases, seizures. Bottles of milk leave them distraught, because they cannot maneuver their lips with enough precision to create suction. Treatment comes in the form of drops of morphine pushed from a syringe into the babies’ mouths. Weaning sometimes takes a week but can last as long as twelve. It’s a heartrending, expensive process, typically carried out in the neonatal ICU, where newborns have limited access to their mothers.[21]Christopher Glazek, ’The Secretive Family Making Millions from the Opioid Crisis,’ Esquire, October 16, 2017,, accessed December 7, 2017.

Because of this sort of thing, the Sackler family has been especially motivated to make people think they care about children: “Several have made children a focus of their business and philanthropic endeavors. One Sackler heir helped start an iPhone app called RedRover, which generates ideas for child-friendly activities for urban parents; another runs a child-development center near Central Park; another is a donor to charter-school causes, as well as an investor in an education start-up called AltSchool.

And because they are such wonderful people they have donated to high-profile institutions, always with their name on it. So we have the Sackler Galleries at the Royal Academy Of Arts in London; the Sackler Wing of Oriental Antiquities at the Louvre; The Arthur M. Sackler Gallery at the Smithsonian, Washington, and the Sackler gallery in Ashmolean Museum at Oxford University, The Raymond and Beverly Sackler Institute for Biological, Physical and Engineering Sciences at Yale, and the Sackler School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences at Tufts. There is effusive praise from the beneficiaries. Tufts spokesperson said “It would be impossible to calculate how many lives you have saved, how many scientific fields you have redefined, and how many new physicians, scientists, mathematicians, and engineers are doing important work as a result of your entrepreneurial spirit. You are a world changer.”

So Sackler is being praised for saving lives at a time when the opioid epidemic they started has claimed the lives of over 250,000 mainly White people.

One wonders if the Sacklers would have attempted to engage in such a campaign in Israel. Instead, they established the Sackler Faculty of Medicine, a medical school which is part of Tel Aviv University.

The opioid phenomenon reflects aspects of Jewish activism in general. These are top-down movements that are well-funded, they have access to the most prestigious institutions of the society, and, because of this prestige, they are able to propagate fake science. In the case of the Jewish drive to enact the 1965 immigration law, pro-immigration committees were funded, fraudulent academic studies were created on the benefits of immigration, prominent people were recruited (like JFK, recruited to put his name on a book titled A Nation of Immigrants written by a Jewish ghostwriter and published by the ADL), positive articles about immigration appeared in the media, lobbyists and politicians were paid. The main fake scientists discussed in The Culture of Critique were the Boasians with their fake race science (utilized in the debates over the immigration law of 1965), psychoanalysis with its fake sex science, and the Frankfurt School with its fake theory that ethnocentric Whites have a psychiatric disorder resulting from poor parenting. Like the fake scientists who participated in promoting the opioid epidemic, these activists had access to prestigious academic institutions and, in the case of the Frankfurt School and other activist academic research in the 1950s and 1960s, their research was funded by the organized Jewish community, such as the American Jewish Committee, and promoted by Jewish academics.

Or consider the neoconservative infrastructure, with think tanks funded, prominent spokesmen at prestigious universities, and a very large media presence. Neocons can bet that if they are forced out of a job in the Departments of State or Defense that they will have many options to fall back on. Despite promoting disastrous policies, such as the war in Iraq, and despite their obvious ethnic loyalties to Israel, they are still a very powerful component of the U.S. foreign policy establishment.

Jews are an incredibly successful and influential group. We can’t win unless we understand that.

Spot on, that is exactly what has caused it, and that is why there is not the same problem in Europe.

Now if we ban or heavily restrict access to these drugs, for example they may only be used in hospital, many, but not all users will switch to illegal, black market sources, then we have Prohibition all over again, but with patches and pills instead of whisky stills.

However with the Supreme Court that we have in place, the right of corporations to make money will always trump anything else.

This therapist reports that women who take SSRI antidepressants do better in stressful, hierarchical and competitive workplace environments, but she is worried about the costs and consequences this competitive advantage comes with… :

Antidepressants Make it Harder to Empathize, Harder to Climax, and Harder to Cry.

Transcript: The main kind of antidepressant that is the most popularly prescribed are the SSRIs and these are medicines that increase serotonin transmission. […] So these antidepressants do scale back a lot of expression of emotion and feeling emotion even sort of thinking emotional thoughts.[…] But what I’m worried about is more and more women deciding to go on antidepressants because their friends are doing it and that’s what’s, you know, more and more women who are at work are taking these SSRIs so that they cannot cry, not get flustered, keep going forward. You know I think it jives with this sort of forward momentum agenda that so many of us have and especially in the workplace. But, you know, I would say at what cost? […] So there does seem to be some component of serotonin affecting dominance hierarchies and, you know, the ability to move ahead or to lean in.

It would be interesting to know if Sheryl Sandberg, who is Jewish, I believe, has naturally high serotonin levels or if she is taking an SSRI in order to “lean in”. Jewish, Chinese and African persons, on average, carry the low-activity MAOA allele, which elevates a person’s serotonin levels, more frequently than white Europeans, and women carry it less often than men, on average:

White European women therefore are globally among the groups with the lowest rate of the low-activity MAOA allele, which could explain why so many of them are taking SSRI antidepressants. They are naturally not very “warrior-like”, and in order to succeed and “survive” in today’s globalized, competitive economy, where they have to compete with men and women from other ethnic groups with naturally higher serotonin levels than themselves, they have to “shut-down” their emotional, caring and empathetic natures with the help of these highly controversial and likely physical-and-emotional-health-harming drugs.

Deeper Than Skin Color: Warrior Gene (MAOA)

Acknowledging that race has a genetic component seems like common sense. However, that was disputed by the many reactions I saw once the conversation was brought up. This is not meant for any camp to push a worldview, but simply to show that there is a genetic way to approach problems we see in society.

  10. If we celebrate Jewish heroes, such as Jonas Salk, then we should also point out Jewish villains. However, repeatedly pointing out that the villains of this plot are Jewish is not the best way to make the case for the prosecution.

It is far better to look at the laws that have been broken – both the laws of the United States, and of natural justice. Among these is the idea that all men are equal before the law.

How is it that a company can be complicit in the deaths of over 100,000 people, yet no one has gone to prison, and the fine (although substantial) barely dents the company’s profits? In addition the crimes were aggravated by deliberate deception of the legal mechanisms for drug approval. We would expect the directors of the company, and any owners who were involved in decision-making, to receive multi-decade prison sentences for these offenses, and forfeiture of their assets.

I believe the answer is that the legal process has been bought: both political parties, and therefore the legislature and the executive, are paid for by large corporations and super-rich individuals. I don’t understand exactly how the judicial branch has been corrupted: perhaps it has simply become a taboo to hold directors accountable for the crimes they commit while behind the veil of incorporation. It is the transition of the United States from a Democracy to a Plutocracy that is at the root of the problem.

Has anyone yet been charged with crimes related to the bubble and crash of 2006/8? The pointless foreign wars in Afghanistan and Iraq? The money sent to those places that simply disappeared?

I know that many of the suspects in these enormous crimes are Jewish. Many others are not. Why dwell on the ethnicity of some of the suspects? Prosecute them all, and try to adjust the system so it cannot so easily be bought.

I found an interesting article about Peter D. Kramer’s (Peter D. Kramer was born on October 22, 1948 in New York City to Jewish Holocaust survivors. Listening to Prozac: A Psychiatrist Explores Antidepressant Drugs and the Remaking of the Self

    prozac feminism

    Prozac Feminism and “Superwomanism”
“There is a sense in which antidepressants are feminist drugs, liberating and empowering.” (Kramer, 1993, pg 40)
“Prozac highlights our culture’s preference for certain personality types… Prozac does not just brighten the mood; it allows a woman with traits we now consider “overly feminine”, in the sense of passivity and a tendency to histrionics, to opt… for a spunkier persona” (Kramer, 1993, pg 270); and again: “We admire and reward quite a different sort of femininity, which… contains attributes traditionally considered masculine: resilience, energy, assertiveness, an enjoyment of give-and-take” (Kramer, 1993, pg 270). These examples clearly depict women as being unequal and subordinate to men, and Kramer claims that Prozac essentially helps women to be more like men. This is a drastic misrepresentation of feminism. Feminism is a struggle against systematic oppression as the result of social structures – not a fight to find ways to be more like men. Archived version:

    Medicating Women’s Feelings

If the serotonin levels of women are constantly, artificially high, they are at risk of losing their emotional sensitivity with its natural fluctuations, and modeling a more masculine, static hormonal balance. This emotional blunting encourages women to take on behaviors that are typically approved by men: appearing to be invulnerable, for instance, a stance that might help women move up in male-dominated businesses. Primate studies show that giving an S.S.R.I. can augment social dominance behaviors, elevating an animal’s status in the hierarchy.

At one point in the video, he says, that below IQ 80, there’d be practically no jobs to be found on the regular job-market. – And he even relates this situation to opiods as a big factor in that regard; and he goes on: Nobody seems to care – but this whole situation is a big problem.

Billionaire couple faced financial woes before ‘suspicious’ deaths

The funeral for the couple drew more than 10,000 mourners, including Trudeau, the mayor of Toronto and the city’s philanthropic elite.

Maybe this is the reason for their financial woes and subsequent suicide?

Big Pharma’s opioid mess is about to hit the industry—hard

And it gets worse. The lawsuits popping up in statehouses across the country blame the pharmaceutical industry for fueling this crisis with misleading data and a just plain unethical push to convince doctors to prescribe opioids in huge numbers. Mylan, Johnson & Johnson, and Teva Pharmaceuticals seem to know very well they are selling far more of their product than can be reasonably used to fight pain legitimately.

In 1970 he invested in New York’s Barr Laboratories with US-based partners, became its largest shareholder and served as Barr’s president.[18] As of 2000, he controlled about 33% of Barr Laboratories’ stock. Barr won the first rights to manufacture generic versions of Eli Lilly’s Prozac. Today, Barr Laboratories’ is a part of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, the world’s largest generic drug maker [19], following Teva’s acquisition of Barr Pharmaceuticals in 2008 [20].

Teva Pharmaceuticals and Poor Quality Generic Drugs

This is not the case anymore as Teva Pharmaceuticals, based in Israel, has been swallowing up many of the leading generic drug manufactures over the past 10 years, making them the sole producer of many of the important generics that so many of us count on for a myriad of medical conditions.

Generic opioids are cheap. Alternative drugs, not so much

Meanwhile, new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines are calling for big cuts in opioid use.

Some drugmakers, to counter criticisms about profiting off addiction, have rolled out awareness campaigns to highlight the dangers of opioid abuse. Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, for instance, launched a video series that uses absurd humor to highlight scenarios where people are struggling with opioid addiction.

Chinese Drugs Are Killing Americans | China Uncensored

MacDonald is barking up the wrong tree. It’s not Jews to blame, it’s Chinese.

Both parties/cultures are culpable, in my opinion, and have similar attitudes towards whites.

Similarities Between Chinese People and Jewish People

Modern Chinese became aware of the existence of a Jewish people across the world in the 1830’s, following the Protestant missionary teachings and Bible translations.Since then, various Jewish stereotypes took form including how the Jews were victims of the white man just like the Chinese.
The Chinese have no reason to dislike the Jews because they display the traits that they admire for themselves. A Jew visiting China will feel the affinity that is palpable thanks to the commonality of traits, a common attitude towards adversity, and life.

The Night New York’s Chinese Went Out for Jews

On the night of the show, Maine spoke first and declared strong sympathy between Jews and Chinese, “as both had been persecuted.” New York rabbi Joseph Zeff, an early Zionist, focused, in Yiddish, on Russian atrocities against both groups.

    I found this:

How a little-known patent sparked Canada’s opioid crisis

    Published December 30, 2016
    Updated November 12, 2017

Once OxyContin was replaced by OxyNeo, a host of stronger opioids began flowing into Canada to feed that appetite, and organized crime filled the void. Illicit fentanyl began appearing on Canadian streets in 2013, just months after Purdue began withdrawing OxyContin from the market.

Fentanyl and carfentanil – a powerful opioid used to tranquilize elephants and other large animals – slipped into Canada from China, from manufacturers who shipped it through the mail.

Suppliers in China had figured out that Canadian border guards were prevented by law from opening packages weighing less than 30 grams without the consent of the recipient. That created a loophole to ship drugs through, using innocent-looking envelopes.

With fentanyl being 100 times stronger than morphine, and carfentanil many times more powerful than fentanyl, just a trace amount of powder could be sold on the street and do considerable damage.

The illicit drug makers also understood another key thing about their market – OxyContin was where it all started, and it was still in demand, even though it was gone.

So when they turned fentanyl and other powders into tablets, using pill presses similar to those housed at big pharmaceutical factories, they dyed them green and stamped each one with a small 80. The look was designed to replicate the 80-mg OxyContin tablets that were so addictive. It was, after all, what the market wanted.

In December, the federal government, in a bid to stem the tide of illegal opioids on the street, unveiled legislation that would give border guards more power to search envelopes weighing less than 30 grams coming into the country. And the importing of pill presses into Canada was also banned.

In the thirties in the Netherlands alcohol was a horrible problem.
Men and women caried flasks with gin or whatever with them at all times.
A son of one of my great grandparents, well educated, with a good job, ruined himself by drinking, his parents paid his debts.
    He lost his job.
Why he drank so much, I never got to know, if anyone knew at the time.

China had opium kits, many visited them.
Those who were not able to handle opium were seen as degenerates, as today those addicted to alcohol, and drugs, I suppose.

The number of USA overdosis drug deaths is indeed staggering.
Blaming these deaths on jews, I question this.

When the USA was ‘dry’, on paper, the father of president Kennedy became rich by smuggling, of that period I never read that alcohol abuse was caused by jews.

One of the problems we here in Europe have with free trade with the USA, thank god Trump ended this idea for the time being, is the difference in philosophy.
In Europe a product is allowed AFTER it has been proved not to cause harm, in the USA any product is allowed as long as is not proven that it causes harm.
That we have disasters too, yes, the software car scandal shows this clearly.
Nevertheless, the philosophy is quite different.

MacDonald claims, without evidence, that the Hart-Celler act was presented dishonestly. Or in other words, that the bill’s sponsors knew that the law would definitely be used to “[lead] directly to minority status for Whites by the mid-21st century.” Thus MacDonald uncharitably attributes to malice that which can be reasonably attributed to incompetence. Of course, this is not the first or even one-hundred-and-first example of MacDonald engaging in bad faith rhetoric, but I digress.

Certainly, few voters in 1965 (Barack Obama’s mentally ill mother, and tribal writer Susan “white goyim are humanity’s cancer” (((Sonntag))) notwithstanding)
would have found the minoritization of “Whites” to be desirable. But many things that can trace their origins back to the 1960s have had very unintended consequences. Acknowledging that a certain consequence was reasonably foreseeable is not the same as demonstrating that the consequence was actually foreseen.

Instead of blaming long-dead men (whose actions I have seen no evidence that MacDonald opposed at the time) for the disaster that the H-C Act [an act written before a large majority of today’s Americans had even been born] has become, a more constructive investment of time and energy would be to criticize the “Whites” living in 2017 who welcome their own dispossession.

As for legitimacy, even if one accepts that the H-C Act was illegitimate 50 years ago, it does not logically follow that the act is illegitimate now.

  37. Professor K.M.: “So the Sackler family is in the clear and is now posing as great humanitarian philanthropists. It’s well known that opioid addiction in mothers has a devastating effect on newborn babies:..”

    Dear Kevin,

Your article is a beautiful Christmas morning gift for me, especially since my God-given role as a husband and father (28-years) is become pitiable “collateral damage” to my hijacked-country’s preventable opiod crisis.

Since starting work making candy apples at Rocky Glen Park at around age 14, I now work at trying to get the poisoned fruit of Oxycodone out of my psyche and get my Life back.

    Enough whining, eh Kevin?

Below is a brief published poem I wrote where I tried to convey how it feels to be proudly among the vast “collateral damage” community of ruthless painkiller addiction and heirs to the Sackler family’s diabolical means of prosperity.

(Zigh) Approximately 2-months ago, my hometown Lackawanna County Commissioners filed a lawsuit against opioid manufacturers. Evidently, the county’s noble role in providing public counseling & perhaps rehab services had taken a deep cut out of their treasury and subsequently sought compensation.

Bitter… I wondered wherefore our ZUSA legislative class and regulatory “defenders” where when addicts (in-the-making) really needed them?

Thanks for writing such a priceless article, Kevin.

And since it appears you are of Irish stock, on this particular morning, I offer unto you, “Christ is born!”

When the USA was ‘dry’, on paper, the father of president Kennedy became rich by smuggling, of that period I never read that alcohol abuse was caused by jews.

Kennedy wasn’t the only one to get rich. Also, Prohibition had many causes and effects; one of the major ones was that alcohol production and distribution became (very conveniently) much more centralized and under the control of …guess who?

Now we have those who make tons of money as a result, posing as “philanthropists” and few people are aware of the source of their profits. Meanwhile, the goy, Kennedy, is nearly the only profiteer we ever hear about.

Does any of this sound familiar?

BTW, who ever said that Jews caused alcohol abuse? Profiting from it may not be a cause of it.

The numbers on the graph of historical wages and productivity can’t be correct. The problem is with the original Figure 2:

It is obvious just by looking at the graph that productivity 1973-2013 rose by much more than 74.4%. Below the figure, one can click on the “Table” to access the actual data:
    1973: wages – 91.31%, productivity – 96.73%
    2013: wages – 108.86%, productivity – 243.13%

Thus, the correct numbers are: wages rose by the paltry 19.22% during the three decades while corresponding productivity rose by 151.35%.

Cigarette smoking is responsible for more than 480,000 deaths per year in the United States

I don’t doubt for one second that smoking is among the leading preventable causes of death in the USA but this number is very obviously bogus. And if it’s not already obvious, consider that it includes 41K of deaths from second-hand smoke:

    1. There is zero hard/believable evidence that second-hand smoking is causing appreciable excess of deaths.
    2. Total annual number of lung cancer deaths is 160K and no more than 50% of them are truly attributable to smoking. (The frequently cited 80% is erroneous and can be traced to junk science done by statistically illiterate doctors)
    3. Smoking-related excess deaths from causes other than lung cancer are very difficult to estimate but almost certainly they do not account for as much as 400% of lung cancer deaths (even if COPD is a major factor).

In general, the relation between smoking and lung cancer is much more complex than what the simplistic health campaign wants you to believe. Genetics is likely a major factor. E.g., age-adjusted lung cancer rate in Kenya is over 10 times lower than in the USA – despite the rate of smoking in Kenya being a little higher (25 vs 20%). Or: lung cancer rate in the US dropped ~ 3.5% in the past 40 years despite the smoking rate dropping 50%.

It appears that it’s just inhaling dust and hot organics does it. I.e., smoking “medical marijuana” is most likely just as dangerous.

This could be the reason why the MSM push the opioid crisis narrative:

The Risks of Non-Opioid Pain Medications

Two of the most commonly prescribed non-opioid “pain medications” are Lyrica [which is the second most-advertised drug at the moment, see figure below] (pregabalin) and Neurontin (gabapentin), both of which were initially approved by the FDA as anti-seizure drugs. The dangers of these medications are too often minimized by doctors, government agencies, and the media — and to some degree remain unknown (particularly in the long-term). […] Compare these potential side effects to those of opioids. When used appropriately, the major side effects of opioid pain medication are constipation and dependence — both of which also happen to be listed as side effects of Lyrica and Neurontin.

It is a similar move/tactic to what “Big Soda and Sugar” did when switching from regular sugar to artificial sweeteners due to the obesity epidemic, even though Diet products are believed to be even unhealthier than regular sugar products.

There is a real opioid and obesity crisis in the U.S., in my opinion, but the solutions the industries which caused them in the first place offer, to supposedly solve and fix these problems, are only exacerbating the situation.

The only solution to fix these problems is to consume less sugar in our diets and to take fewer drugs in general, but that would hurt “Big Pharma”‘s and “Big Soda and Sugar”‘s bottom line, and we can’t have that, of course:

Gain weight by “going diet?” Artificial sweeteners and the neurobiology of sugar cravings Yang (2010)
Lastly, artificial sweeteners, precisely because they are sweet, encourage sugar craving and sugar dependence.

The top 10 advertisers in Big Pharma

Drug makers now spend \$5 billion a year on advertising. Here’s what that buys.

It appears that it’s just inhaling dust and hot organics does it. I.e., smoking “medical marijuana” is most likely just as dangerous.

Except that 1) tobacco users burn 40 or so butts per day, whereas pot smokers take a couple of puffs per day or less.

    2) Pot can and is often consumed in other forms.

If you suspect CDC figures on tobacco are too high, why do you think they are more reliable for opioids?

It’s death from opioid overdose we are talking about. A one time event with unmistakable symptoms, recorded with high reliability. Unless someone suddenly decided to just hoax the existence of “white death epidemics” (of which OO is a major factor), it’s all rather believable. Nothing in the numbers looks fishy, given what we know about general patterns of drug use in the country.

Tobacco lobby has been roundly defeated and accepted the defeat. They now have no choice but to tacitly agree with whatever ridiculously-sounding numbers they are being hammered with. (Don’t get me wrong: tobacco lobby deserves it in spades; they really did lie, and lied big time).

Now the alcohol lobby… I am no defender of nanny state, and I’d legalize most drugs and lowered drinking age to 18, but I still wish that alcoholic beverages carried black box warnings. The “I always drink in moderation and am more or less resistant to alcohol dependence” that so many whites delude themselves with is very dangerous. How many people know that alcoholic drinks are carcinogenic? Not the SWPLs who are obsessed with “organic” foods but have no problem frequently getting smashed on tequila or whiskey.

Dr MacDonald has nothing to do with Darwin’s theory of evolution over tens of millions of years.

Dr Macdonald only researches humans, not all living critters for one thing.

Dr Macdonald only researches how various groups of humans change or evolve their behavior to benefit each group. He doesn’t go back millions of years, he only studies the last 3,500 years and concentrates on the last 2,000 years of Jewish behavior vis a vis non Jews especially Christian Europeans.

The Bronfmans got their start as pimps, prostitutes and brothel keepers in Canada. They were the standard Russian Jews who arrived in the Americas in the late 19th century. In those days brothels served drinks and snacks. They owned so many brothels they brought their booze wholesale and then started a wholesale liquor business.

I don’t think Mexican liquor manufactureres took advantage of prohibition. But the Canadian liquor manufacturers made a fortune selling their legally manufactured booze to American bootleggers.

The US government constantly badgers the Canadian government to do something about the flood of Canadian liquor in America.

The Canadian government laughed and did nothing to restrict Canadians liquor manufacture.
Check out another Jew, Julius Hammer, a founder of the communist party of America and his 200 proof medicinal “ tincture of ginger” sold by prescription in pharmacies.

I can comment both semi-professionally and as a patient who has had a misfortune to have numerous acute surgeries and a chronic pain condition.

The current panic is getting dangerously close to throwing the baby out with the bath water. Opioids are godsend! So far, we have more or less nothing that treats serious pain. Opioids are not going anywhere as far as acute pain goes – there is no substitute. Alas, there is already a trend to severely withdraw their use for chronic pain. Which, as applied to the hospice care, basically means increasing suffering in people who already suffer and may well wish that they died instead. If the anti-opioid movement gets more traction, we’ll end up with a lot more people suffering needlessly. Think terrible toothaches over weekend, doctors not believing you that NSAIDs do nothing to your terrible arthritis pain while you are waiting for an operation, etc. You might be healthy now but you will get chronic pain at some point – and no, the pot does not work and no, there are no safe ways of treating debilitating pain.

That said, of course opioids were massively over-prescribed (10 days supply “just in case” after a minor surgery was not uncommon). I don’t know about Jewish conspiracy and stuff like that but someone did drop the ball – the scale of the problem was genuinely not widely known, and the feedback to the prescribing doctors in cases that did result in dependencies was almost nonexistent.

There is very obviously a strong genetic component to opioid addiction. It’s very likely to be less complex that IQ. Hopefully studies with N>100,000 are forthcoming. That ought to be part of the solution. Another is removing the stigma and societal punishment for reporting dependence. A lot of overdoses are simply due to the fact that doctors are unaware of the patients’ history of opioid exposure. And the thing with opioids is just that: the longer you use, the easier it is to overdose.

The Risks of Non-Opioid Pain Medications

I just did some quick searches on the innocuously named “Pain News Network” group/site I quoted above, and they appear to be a pharmaceutical industry propaganda news outlet. What made me suspicious of them was their “About Us” section, in which they claim that “It is estimated that 1.5 billion people worldwide suffer from chronic pain — including about 100 million Americans.” – These numbers of chronic pain sufferers seem exaggerated to me, especially the U.S. numbers, which would mean that about 1/3 of all Americans suffer from (presumably unbearable) chronic pain that requires opioids to be able to manage that pain and cope with it.

This is what I found on them:

It was striking that much of the opposition seemed to come from rather mysterious organizations, the Pain Care Forum, Power of Pain Foundation, Washington Legal Foundation, and Center for Medicine in the Public Interest. However, the reporting on these organizations was minimal. Furthermore, some of the news sources reporting on the opposition to the CDC guidelines also were rather mysterious, such as the Pain News Network, National Pain Report, and Legal News Line.

One recent media article, and some of our previous blogging, though suggest that the opposition organizations all have ties to the pharmaceutical industry, and in several cases, directly to one of the major producers of legal opioids. On December 23, 2015, Lee Fang wrote in the Intercept by way of an introduction,

The pharmaceutical companies that manufacture and market OxyContin, Vicodin, and other highly addictive opioid painkillers — drugs that have fueled the epidemic of overdoses and heroin addiction — are funding nonprofit groups fighting furiously against efforts to reform how these drugs are prescribed.

This is what the author of that blog post commented in the comments section:

    Roy M Poses MD
    January 5, 2016 at 4:12 pm

Just a reminder – the original blog post was mainly about stealth public relations/ stealth health policy advocacy. I tried to focus on the organizations which made rather vague complaints about the CDC guidelines, centering on allegations of lack of transparency in and conflicts affecting the guideline development process. Yet these organizations were not exactly transparent about their own glaring conflicts of interest. Furthermore, their opposition was publicized by somewhat mysterious news sites, at least one of which actually appears to be a full-time PR operation by the US Chamber of Commerce.

I did not mean to discuss the content of the guidelines in detail. Yet nearly all the comments here seem to be about the management of chronic pain, not the issues I brought up. And many comments make all sorts of complex biological or clinical assertions without supplying any evidence, especially from good clinical research, to support them. And this is on a blog focused on economics, politics, business, finance, etc not medicine or health care.

I realize comments sections often get tangential, but this one has gotten so tangential I wonder if some of the comments are meant as deliberate distraction?

Considering the age of most of these old codgers who rant against pain killers it’s hard to believe they don’t have the aches and pains of old age as well as the occupational damage done to the muscle skeletal system by whatever jobs they had.

The great benefit of medical marijuana is the dreamy euphoria the “patient” gets. They will gladly endure the pain to get the marijuana

The opioid pain killers just block the pain nerve impulses to the brain. The pain is stopped, but there is no euphoria as comes with marijuana use.

Marijuana doesn’t block the pain nerve impulses. It just makes the pain more endurable, like alcohol does. That is why alcohol was used as a pain killer for surgery for centuries.

These old codgers are old enough to remember all the liberal media crusades such as:

Mid 1980s heterosexual AIDS. Totally false. Then and now AIDS was and is a gay male disease that liberal crusade was an attempt to distract from the fecal aspects of gay male sex.

1970s eggs cause heart attacks because of cholesterol. That liberal media crusade was a project of Pillsbury mills and the wheat, corn and oat farmers of America. Quelle surprise

Recently we had the evil White male monsters Darren Wilson and George Zimmerman viciously murdering those innocent children Trayvon Martin and Mike Brown.

Before that the racist White hating liberal media gave us the Duke Lacrosse false rape accusations.

But self righteous old codgers love to rant and rave about things of which they know nothing.

Seriously though, I wonder what the purpose of this latest liberal crusade is?

Maybe the liberals just want to withhold necessary pain killers from Whites so they suffer more pain.

Maybe it is the medical marijuana people who want the patients to use ineffective marijuana in lieu of effective Vicodin.

The force behind the anti Vicodin movement is probably the manufacturererd of another drug, tramodol. Tramodol, just like Vicodin, blocks the pain nerve impulses from reaching the brain.

The tramadol sales reps are flooding every medical office in the country urging drs to prescribe tramadol instead of Vicodin because the funded by tramadol researchers claim tramadol is not addictive but Vicodin is.

It’s exactly the same as the beet and cane sugar growers against the corn syrup and aspartame producers.

Or the chicken and fish producers claiming that beef and pork causes heart attacks. The beef and pork producers fight back by claiming that chicken has salmonella and fish has mercury and it is raised in unhealthy fish farms

It’s all just marketing. Follow the money and look at who finds the so called research.

It’s probably the tramadol manufacturers behind the latest anti Vicodin crusade.

And marijuana isn’t addictive but Vicodin is. Right.

  123. Alden says:

What does opioid dependency really mean? A patient in severe pain, such as with terminal cancer stops taking the pain killer and the pain comes back.

So the patient needs his or her next dose to block the nerve impulses to the brain.
I guess that’s the liberal media definition of addiction.

I wonder if insulin is next on the liberals list of necessary meds to be banned because it’s addictive.

The International Pain Foundation (iPain) which is affiliated with the Pain News Network (PNN) , for example, “only” puts the number of chronic pain sufferers at about 700 million globally instead of the 1.5 billion claimed by PNN.

There are over 700 million people living with chronic pain, and it is not talked about much. We are trying to change that with your help! At the iPain, we know that education and knowledge can transform a person’s future.

This number seems more realistic to me, and would probably put the number of chronic pain sufferers in the U.S. at about 50 million. Even this number still strikes me as rather high, but not completely inconceivable.

    Then there is also this:

Efficacy, Tolerability, and Dose-Dependent Effects of Opioid Analgesics for Low Back Pain
    A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

Low back pain is a common health problem and the leading cause of disability worldwide.1,2 While management guidelines encourage the prescription of simple analgesics for low back pain (eg, paracetamol or nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs [NSAIDs]), many people with low back pain are prescribed opioid analgesics.3,4 Findings from the United States show that more than half of the people regularly treated with prescription opioid analgesics have chronic low back pain.4 Similarly in Australia the 3 most commonly prescribed drugs for back pain are opioid analgesics or opioid analgesic combinations: oxycodone (11.7%), tramadol (8.2%), and paracetamol and codeine combination (12.1%) (percent of all prescribed medicines for back pain).5,6
Our review challenges the prevailing view that opioid medicines are powerful analgesics for low back pain. Opioid analgesics had minimal effects on pain, and even at high doses the magnitude of the effect is less than the accepted thresholds for a clinically important treatment effect on pain. Importantly, the magnitude of the treatment effect we observed is similar to that reported for NSAIDs vs placebo in the Cochrane review of NSAIDs.

Strange the propaganda piece does not talk about the central role played by the Jewish Indian cabal in the opium trade!

China’s Opium War Was ‘Completely Indian Enterprise’, not British: Indian Author Amitav Ghosh

At this juncture he found that the first opium war in China was an Indian undertaking. “The first opium war (was) planned in India, it was financed by Indian money, it was fought with Indian soldiers. But it has all completely vanished from our historical memory,” Ghosh, whose third book of Ibis series ‘Flood of Fire’ is all about migration in the 1830s, told IANS.

“The putting together of the expeditionary force took place in India. The British naval ships for the expedition were accompanied by 50 supply ships, all provided for by Parsi merchants in Bombay (now Mumbai). From top to bottom, it was a completely Indian enterprise; all the wherewithal for it came from India,” he added.

What role did India Inc play in the opium trade war?

They [Indian companies] played a pioneering part.In large parts, the opium war was financed by Indian money -by old Bombay money. Many of t he bi g Indian families made their money in opium. This is equally true about America.

Many American compa nies and families have made their money in opium -P resident Franklin R o o s e v e l t ‘s fa mi ly, t he C a l v i n Coolidge f a m ily, Forbes family from where you get the current secretary of state, John Kerry, even institutions like Yale and Brown. Singapore and Hong Kong wouldn’t exist today without opium.Essentially opium was the most important commodity of the 19th century.

Are companies hesitant to acknowledge their past connections to opium?

Ve r y h e sit a nt . Ja r d i n e Matheson was one of the most important opium trading companies in the 19th c ent u r y. T hei r close st partner was Sir Jamsetji Jeejeebhoy, who built half of Bombay. To this day, Jardine Matheson does not like this connection mentioned. In fact, they’ve been known to threaten journalists.Similarly, people who’ve been trying to work with papers of various Indian companies find it very difficult to access documents. Let me just say it tactfully that several companies don’t like this to be spoken of in public.

Would it have been difficult for companies to hide their past if there was social media at that time?

The opium war was a very modern war. It was sold to the British government by merchants. They collected money and sent Wi l liam Jardine to London to bribe politicians i nto sta r ti ng this war. It’s a collusion between the State and the pri vate sector, which benefited not only from the policies of the opium trade, but also from the whole war being sub-contracted to them, in terms of provisions, supply ships etc. It was the template of the Iraq war. First, you pick up something, drum it up by publishing some articles about it, the people will get worked up, then you start the war. You keep hidden what is actually happening.

    No Jewish Sassoon family?

The Jewish Monopoly on Opium Still Fuels Chinese Resentment Today

The 99 year British lease on Hong Kong expired in July, 1997, allowing China to take over its land once again. Hundreds of newspaper stories and TV reports covered that event but not one revealed how England first gained control of Hong Kong.

The truth lies buried in the family line of David Sassoon, “The Rothschilds of The Far East,” and their monopoly over the opium trade. Britain won Hong Kong by launching the opium Wars to give the Sassoons exclusive rights to drug an entire nation.

David Sassoon was born in Baghdad, Iran in 1792. His father, Saleh Sassoon, was a wealthy banker and the treasurer to Ahmet Pasha, the governor of Baghdad. (Thus making him the “court Jew” – a highly influential position.) In 1829 Ahmet was overthrown due to corruption and the Sassoon family fled to Bombay, India. This was the strategic trade route to India’s interior and the gateway to the Far East. In a brief time the British government granted Sassoon monopoly rights to all manufactured cotton goods, silk and most important of all- Opium – then the most addictive drug in the world.

    · The Beginning of the Opium Trade

In the beginning, David Sassoon wanted to trade cotton cloth with China in exchange for tea, but the Chinese did not want the cotton that Sassoon wanted to trade. They were however willing to trade tea for silver. However, Sassoon considered that the Chinese might be susceptible to opium. With this knowledge Sassoon sailed back to India and then England to sell what little tea he had, and to make a new proposition.

Britain had an insatiable appetite for Chinese tea, but the Qing Dynasty and its subjects did not want to buy anything that the British produced. The government of Queen Victoria did not want to use up the country’s reserves of gold or silver in buying tea, so, on the advice of David Sassoon, she decided to forcibly export opium from the Indian Subcontinent to China. The opium would then be exchanged for tea.

In Order to boost the trade David Sassoon forced the farmers in Bengali to stop farming food and turn to growing opium poppies. The climate in Bengali was very good for growing opium and Sassoon’s business flourished. He became a member of the East India Company, a firm owned and run by Jews out of the City of London. So successful was the opium business that the tax the East Indian Company paid to England paid for all English wars between 1831 and 1905.

    · Opium Was a “Jewish Business”

The Jewish Encyclopedia of 1905 states that Sassoon expanded his opium trade into China and Japan. He placed his eight sons in charge of the various major opium exchanges in China.

According to the 1944 Jewish Encyclopedia: “He employed only Jews in his business, and wherever he sent them he built synagogues and schools for them. He imported whole families of fellow Jews. . . and put them to work.”

Sassoon’s sons were busy pushing this mind-destroying drug in Canton, China, and their trade expanded alarmingly. Between 1830 – 1831 they trafficked 18,956 chests of opium earning millions of dollars. Part of the profits went to Queen Victoria and the British government. In the year 1836 the trade increased to over 30,000 chests and drug addiction in coastal cities became endemic.

In 1864, the Sassoons imported 58,681 chests of opium which brought in over 20 million pounds. By 1880 it had skyrocketed to 105,508 chests, making the Sassoons the richest Jews in the world next to the Rothschilds. The Sassoons were now licensing opium dens in each British occupied area with large fees being collected by their Jewish agents.

And many of these Jewish agents were the Chinese Jews of Kaifeng. These Jews had immigrated to China along the Silk Road hundreds of years ago and had so intermarried with the Chinese that they looked entirely Chinese. But they still were practicing Jews and were thus the perfect Chinese agents for the Sassoons.

The entire trade was controlled by Jewish families only. Sassoon would not allow any other race to engage in “the Jews’ business” of importing and selling opium. Opium was strictly a Jewish monopoly. But these Jews were working under British passports.

This article mentions JFK, when on his campaign trail, his wife would meet and greet supporters in Spanish (but also in Polish), and that alone should have raised red flags with Americans- who are these people pandering to aliens, and yet he got elected and was a factor in the demoralization of America. Sure he cut taxes, but they were much too high since FDR anyway and long due for a decrease. The KGB acknowledged their goal of demoralizing the USA as a successfully accomplished mission, Americans are stuck with the degenerate generation they would say, but here again Americans themselves are to blame. You can lead a horse to water, but he has to drink himself.

I’d like to see all drugs legalized and not regulated (drug safety should be in the hands of the industry and the courts of law and public opinion) so at least they would be cheap and not ruin anybody who wants to use them financially. The only druggies I’ve known about were real deplorables, totally useless people, with the potential to corrupt others who were naive and weak spirited. It’s hard to feel sorry for them, some say hard times make them do drugs- has any of them visited a senator in person to inquire about ending Affirmative Action? Once the Democrats give idiots a good song and dance about taxing “the rich” they can do anything they want, and leave morons holding the bag. Forget Pelosi, Clinton, Feinstein, and others, they’re not rich, they’re not going to tax themselves and their wealth acquired through corruption and insider trading, you’re only rich if you don’t get any money from the government, so you’ll be taxed on your income of \$30K to pay for poor Pelosi’s government salary and pension. And don’t blame her later.

Yeah, about those political memes: “the Deep State,” “the 1%,” “Drain the Swamp,” “the Davos Set,” and “Masters of the Universe.” They capture alienation, suspicion, and helplessness, all right. Know what else they do? They divert public rage away from the state. Sackler’s commercial predation would not be possible without a state that institutionalizes malversation and rights derogation. A formal kleptocracy like the contemporary USA is only possible when the state has impunity. The one institution with absolute sovereignty, the real state, is CIA. CIA has infiltrated every other agency, department, and branch with “dotted-line reports,” clandestine domestic agents or officers of CIA. With impunity for crimes up to and including systematic and widespread murder and torture, CIA is in a position to control all policies in which it has an interest. The Sacklers’ drug-based extermination initiative would not be happening without CIA approval.

So what’s CIA’s policy objective in drug-based extermination? CIA nomenklatura are sympathetic to eugenics but that’s just the icing on the cake. The overarching goal is to reduce the US population to its dwindling carrying capacity. The littorals are going under water, the interior is subject to increasingly violent storms, and agricultural productivity in in decline – because of carbon and nitrogen cycle imbalances, as Exxon has known for 40 years.

But why would CIA choose Jews and Israelis as domestic agents? Israel is going down for the third time. It’s a pariah state bleeding legitimacy, and CIA’s about ready to cut it loose. After their policy has taken effect, CIA will ruin and purge the Israeli loyalists, blame it all on them, and stay in power. If you recall, Apartheid South Africa was a big help too, in its agonal stage.

There is no link between SSRIs and suicides/mass shootings. Usually these drugs only have a mild effect. SSRIs are indeed a bit of a con, but not in the way you are thinking. Side-effects are usually milder than with previous classes of anti-depressants but the benefits are greatly exaggerated. Like many people, I’ve taken them for reactive depression and they had no effect whatsoever. Doctors are over-prescribing these expensive medications because the mental health industry has removed the category or reactive depression and simply lumped bio-chemical and reactive depression into a single diagnosis. Many people get over reactive depression without drugs or therapy, so there are lots of false- positive responses to SSRIs. People with full-blown, bio-chemical melancholia have to take very high doses to achieve benefits, and even then they often do very little. Hence the reason why electro-shock therapy is making a comeback. For some people, it’s the only thing that works.

Some blacks refuse to use seat belts because “ if the car bursts into flames the buckle might get stuck and I couldn’t escape.”

As a group, blacks tend to trust drs unless they get some idea such as birth control pills cause cancer. Then problems arise.

The purpose is to teach drs and nurses To probe a bit more when a White or Asian man claims little or no pain. For instance pain raises blood pressure much higher than normal, as much as 60 points for severe pain.

That’s not helpful in an ER or for a new patient But very helpful if the medic can compare normal blood pressure with present blood pressure.
There are other physical symptoms of pain but I forget them.

Monitoring blood pressure is how pain is monitored in those studies on pain and pain tolerance. The person being tested is hooked up to a blood pressure monitor. Then the pain is applied.

By volatility and irritability they mean a nasty grouch always ready to start a fight. They used to be called mean drunks.

So by decreasing the irritability factor the mean old grouch stops picking fights, bullying and generally being a nasty bully always looking to start trouble.

When I was a probation officer we saw a study done about murder victims who died because of fighting, not robberies or domestic violence.

The study discovered that these murder victims generally spent the hours before their deaths being aggressive bullies and starting fights. A lot of them went from bar to bar trying to start fights until they finally met their match.

I do know that SSRIs increases serontin in the brain. That alleviates depression which less[e]ns volatility and irritability which are medical terms for aggressive bully looking for a fight.

The studies I have read on this subject found that more serotonin (due to low-activity MAOA) in the brain predicts aggression in high but not in low provocation situations:

Monoamine oxidase A gene (MAOA) predicts behavioral aggression following provocation

There is some evidence of a main effect for genotype and some evidence for a gene by environment interaction, such that MAOA is less associated with the occurrence of aggression in a low provocation condition, but significantly predicts such behavior in a high provocation situation.

In my opinion, SSRIs “supercharge” psychopathic personality traits:

The Effects of Sertraline on Psychopathic Traits

Consistent with our hypotheses, personality traits of psychopathy as measured by the PPI changed during 8 weeks of treatment with sertraline, but in opposing directions. Specifically, PPI-1, “Fearless Dominance” scores increased whereas PPI-2, “Self-centered Impulsivity” scores decreased. These findings bolster recent suggestions that psychopathy is not a unitary syndrome, but instead may reflect a configuration of at least two independent causal processes, namely fearless dominance (boldness) and disinhibition (Fowles DC, Dindo L, 2009; Patrick CJ et al., 2009). The changes in psychopathy scores were only weakly correlated with changes in depressive symptoms. Our findings suggest that, in addition to improving symptoms of depressive symptoms, SSRIs may enhance adaptive personality traits traditionally observed in psychopathic individuals, such as social charm and interpersonal and physical boldness. Conversely, psychopathic traits often considered maladaptive, such as dysregulated impulsivity and externalization of blame, were reduced by SSRI treatment.

However, analogous to drugs that numb our sensitivity to physical pain and therefore make us more vulnerable to injury, the SSRI’s may have hidden dangers. The use of Prozac and similar drugs may induce a subjective state that mimics that of a high-status individual. Being highly self-directed and fairly oblivious to other people may work well for a truly high ranking individual, but for a low ranking individual to feel and act this way may prove problematic if not disastrous. For example, the SSRI-using employee that begins to habitually ignore their boss and to modify their work activities according to their own whims may find themselves among the unemployed [and then retaliates for the perceived “injustice” by shooting up the office, that he or she thinks provoked/wronged him or her].

Here they studied how an SSRI (citalopram) affected moral judgement:

Serotonin selectively influences moral judgment and behavior through effects on harm aversion

    A citalopram-induced harm-avoidant bias was also evident in behavior during the UG. Complementing our previous finding that serotonin depletion increased rejection of unfair offers in the UG (16 ), we found that citalopram affected UG behavior in the opposite direction, reducing rejection of unfair offers. The nature of the motivation underlying punitive rejection behavior in the UG is ambiguous. Rejecting unfair offers is simultaneously prosocial at the group level, because it enforces fairness norms (50 ), but antisocial at the individual level, because it harms the proposer (22 ). The present findings imply that serotonin promotes prosocial behavior at the individual level ( but anti-social behavior at the group level; blogger hbd chick calls this behavior “clannishness” );
The fact that the prosocial effects of citalopram were stronger in more highly empathic individuals also has consequences for the pharmacological treatment of aggressive and antisocial behavior. Serotonin has been implicated in a wide range of psychiatric disorders with antisocial and aggressive symptoms, including intermittent explosive disorder, antisocial personality disorder, and psychopathy (59–61), and these disorders are often treated with SSRIs such as citalopram (62). Our findings suggest that trait empathy measures could predict whether patients are likely to respond to SSRI treatment and imply that such treatments are less likely to succeed in psychopaths and patients with vmPFC damage, both of whom show a marked lack of empathy (63).
This study demonstrates that altering central serotonin function in healthy volunteers has selective causal effects on moral judgment and social behavior. Blocking serotonin reuptake with citalopram influenced moral judgment in emotionally salient personal scenarios, making subjects less likely to endorse harming one person to save many others, and also made subjects less likely to harm others via punishment in an economic game, effects that were stronger in highly empathic individuals. This pattern of results implies that serotonin promotes prosocial behavior by enhancing the aversiveness of harming others, an effect that drives both moral judgment and behavior.

The takeaway from this study seems to be that higher brain serotonin levels (either through carrying low-activity MAOA, 5-HTTLPR-s (short) and/or taking SSRIs) make one less utilitarian. I personally feel that being more utilitarian indicates a more advance level of moral judgment and long-term planning/thinking.

A Utilitarian Defense of Free Speech on College Campuses

Serotonin transporter genotype (5-HTTLPR) predicts utilitarian moral judgments.

Results showed that, relative to long allele homozygotes (LL), carriers of the short (S) allele showed particular reluctance to endorse utilitarian actions resulting in foreseen harm to an innocent individual. LL genotype participants rated perpetrating unintentional harm as more acceptable (M = 4.98, SEM = 0.20) than did SL genotype participants (M = 4.65, SEM = 0.20) or SS genotype participants (M = 4.29, SEM = 0.30).
These results may aid in understanding why people disagree about the acceptability of causing foreseen harm to meet utilitarian goals.

Typo: … being more utilitarian indicates a more *advanced* level of moral judgment

    Great article:

    Can pills change our morals?

We found that the SSRI influenced people’s moral judgments. On placebo, subjects were less likely to endorse personal harms, relative to impersonal ones, just as other studies have shown. When we enhanced serotonin function with an SSRI, this difference became even more pronounced: the SSRI made people significantly less likely to say it is morally acceptable to kill one person to save many others, especially in those emotionally salient personal scenarios. In other words, the drug made people less utilitarian.2

Pause for a moment and consider that the debate between utilitarians and deontologists has been raging for hundreds of years. Yet we were able to shift people’s judgments, from more utilitarian to more deontological, by manipulating their brain chemistry. Could the difference between Hume and Kant boil down to a few chemicals in their brains? And what implications might this have for other ethical questions? Archived version:

More confirmation, in my opinion, that SSRIs are probably not contributing to the betterment of humanity and the human condition, because they cause and lead to dogmatism and moral absolutism:

Moral Absolutism: The Detriments of Deontology

All deontological ethics eventually lead back to a rule. In the case of some religious ethics, for example, homosexuality is considered immoral. The reason for this is not anything specific about homosexuality that is bad for society, it rests simply on the notion that, in various religious texts, there is a rule against it. Some authoritarian governments and philosophies have historically been rather deontological–some Marxists attempt to evaluate right and wrong based on adherence to Karl Marx’s writings. In fascism and racism, the ethic is often deontological in nature. An example would be the logical formulation of the fascist notion that Jews should be exterminated:

    – Jews are bad
    – Why are Jews bad?
    – Because book X, leader Y, or law Z says so Archived version:

I see comments that “fentanyl is ten times stronger than heroin” and other nonsense when I fail to see a single reference to carfentanil.

The addictiveness of opiates has been well understood for over a century (longer if you include the opium itself). It’s also known that NOTHING else works for severe pain. Military combat medics carry morphine, not ibuprofen.

The physical dependence that comes from long term opiate use is very very real. Withdrawal is worse than chemotherapy (I’ve experienced both). And if you have chronic severe pain, add that ON TOP of your paralyzing sickness.

So, the original piece is pretty good but glosses over the fact that there are millions who need opiates to have any quality of life whatsoever and glosses the fact that millions go on and then off doctor prescribed opiates with little trouble. Lazy doctors let prescriptions go too long and did too little to help patients through detox.

But most importantly, our unsecured southern border allows limitless supply of cheap Mexican heroin and we will never stop drugs like carfentanil and “research chemicals” like U-47700 and W-15. These are here to stay and will require us to adjust as we have with alcohol.

What does opioid dependency really mean? A patient in severe pain, such as with terminal cancer stops taking the pain killer and the pain comes back.

I’m not sure the term is defined and suspect that’s deliberate. But in addition to the resumption of pain, and often worse than the original in case of chronic sufferers, is the incredible sickness. It’s nearly indescribable what happens to your body and brain when cut off from long term opiate treatment. I’ve undergone brutal chemotherapy (so brutal it’s only given to young adults or stage IV kids/seniors) and cold-turkey unassisted detox after two decades of opiate treatment at a dose that would kill 99.9% of humans. The detox was MUCH worse.

Indeed, in some cases various SSRIs, including citalopram, have been found to increase premeditated aggression (Breggin 2003, 31). Again, this is something to be borne in mind when considering SSRIs as a moral enhancement intervention: what SSRIs stand to improve with respect to one kind of aggression, they may in fact worsen with respect to another (Wiseman, 2014, 27). – p. 106 The Myth of the Moral Brain: The Limits of Moral Enhancement by Harris Wiseman

The studies I have read on this subject found that more serotonin (due to low-activity MAOA) in the brain predicts aggression in high but not in low provocation situations

Here is another study on the role serotonin plays in (reactive/provoked) aggression, and it comes to the conclusion that it is not as cut-and-dried of a matter as many want it to be, particularly the pharmaceutical industry:

An fMRI Study on the Role of Serotonin in Reactive Aggression

Behavioral data showed an aggression diminishing effect of ATD in low trait-aggressive participants, whereas no ATD effect was detected in high trait-aggressive participants. ATD also led to reduced insula activity during the decision phase, independently of the level of provocation. Whereas previous reports have suggested an inverse relationship between serotonin level and aggressive behavior with low levels of serotonin leading to higher aggression and vice versa, such a simple relationship is inconsistent with the current data.

School shootings. Muggings. Murder. Road rage. After decreasing for more than a decade, the rate of violent crime in the United States has begun to inch up again. According to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting Program, violent crime rose 2.3 percent in 2005 and 1.9 percent in 2006, the first steady increase since 1993.

Aggressive behavior can be divided into two types: proactive and reactive. Proactive aggressors plan how they’re going to hurt and bully others. Reactive aggression, however, is not premeditated; it occurs in response to an upsetting trigger from the environment.
The brain chemical serotonin has long been known to play an important role in regulating anger and aggression. Low cerebrospinal fluid concentrations of serotonin have even been cited as both a marker and predictor of aggressive behavior.

New studies from the Netherlands, however, indicate that this serotonin-deficiency hypothesis of aggressiveness may be too simple. “Serotonin deficiency appears to be related to pathological, violent forms of aggressiveness, but not to the normal aggressive behavior that animals and humans use to adapt to everyday survival,” says Sietse de Boer, PhD, of the University of Groningen.
“Our findings support meta-analyses of serotonin activity in aggressive humans,” says de Boer. “That data showed that serotonin deficiency is most readily detected in people who engage in impulsive and violent forms of aggressive behavior rather than in individuals with more functional forms of aggression.

Low cerebrospinal fluid 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid concentration differentiates impulsive from nonimpulsive violent behavior.

Relationships of impulsive and nonimpulsive violent behavior to cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) monoamines and their metabolic concentrations were studied in thirty-six violent offenders. A relatively low 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid (5HIAA) concentration was found in the CSF of impulsive violent offenders. This was not true for the offenders who had premeditated their acts. Other CSF monoamine or metabolite concentrations were not significantly different between the two groups. Of the groups studied, impulsive violent offenders who had attempted suicide had the lowest 5HIAA levels. A low CSF 5HIAA concentration may be a marker of impulsivity rather than violence.

This study seems to confirm that (higher serotonin level) offenders who premeditate their criminal acts and violence are more psychopathic, which seems to confirm my claim from my first comment in this comments thread that SSRIs produce more psychopathic societies:

Comparison of impulsive and premeditated perpetrators of intimate partner violence.

Violence occurs in four to five million intimate relationships each year in the United States. Past research has investigated the concept of batterer subtypes based on the nature of the violent behavior. To extend this research, the present study used the Impulsive/Premeditated Aggression Scale (IPAS) along with a battery of relevant self-report measures in a sample of men (N = 113) convicted of domestic violence and court ordered into an intervention program. Batterers whose violence was classified as premeditated scored higher on psychopathic traits and a measure of treatment rejection. Batterers whose violence was classified as impulsive in nature reported a wider range of serious psychopathology. It is suggested that the use of a bimodal classification (Impulsive/Premeditated) in batterers may have significant clinical and legal policy implications.

Hi Rodrigo. That’s a bit harsh, mental illness being no real fault of the sufferer.

That said, if of a junkie dectect, nine members were found face down in the LA River, I shouldn’t inquire too urgently about the fate of the tenth.

I’ve used red vein kratom in powder with a dump & wash ingestion. About one heaping tablespoon per dose and 3-4x/day. It tastes like ass. Then again, so does tea and they’re pretty similar. Diet Coke extinguishes the taste and grapefruit potentiates the effects.

Understand that kratom is NOT an opiate (nor yet illegal). It appears to have some alkaloids that interfere with the brain’s opioid receptors however and thereby mitigates the severity of detox. But the detox is still happening. Where without kratom you may not sleep (at all) for seven to ten days, with kratom you may sleep two to four hours every night.

“The Chinese have no reason to dislike the Jews because they display the traits that they admire for themselves.”

That reminds me of a line in an article I read years ago that described the Nungs (ethnic Chinese peoples living in Vietnam for centuries) as “the jews of Vietnam”. IIRC, the description was based on their work ethic, clannishness, and talent for business pursuits.

Bayer introduced heroin as a cure for morphine addiction, which was known then as “The Soldier’s Disease”, because of the number of addicts who used morphine for pain from wounds after Lincoln’s war, and became addicted. Jesse James was one of them. It seems to have exceeded expectations.

Fentanyl has to be administered in tiny doses to keep from killing the patient. It isn’t safe as a street drug at all, if any street drugs could be viewed as safe.

  172. @Alden

That’s true about withdrawals from opioids. I was on high dose of Dilaudid after a car wreck for 4 months while in a hospital, and later in a nursing home. My doctor said that I would probably need to check into a drug treatment facility to get off of Dilaudid, and that I should let him know when I was ready.

I decided to do it on my own, so I didn’t fill the prescription for the large dose (12 hour intervals) when I came home, and took the smaller doses, that were meant to be taken at 4 hour intervals, at 8 hour intervals for a few weeks, then just stopped.

I had the symptoms you listed for a week or so, then they eased up. I haven’t taken Dilaudid or any other opioids or opiates since and have even stopped using aspirin and NSAIDS as well. Withdrawal was bearable and I was determined not to be dependent on pain drugs.

This is funny: the Sassoons, eevull joos that they are, FORCED the hapless Hindus to grow opium poppies, then they also FORCED the Chinese to smoke it. They inflicted this drug, which nobody wanted to use, upon an entire Empire against the will of everyone who later became junkies. What nonsense.

This tale is ridiculous on its face. People use drugs because they want to. Nobody forced the junkie you see in the park to use heroin, or whatever he uses. He made a choice, and he makes a choice every day to remain strung out, instead of kicking the drugs and learning to live without them.

The Japanese managed to sweep up most of the privately held gold in Manchuria by offering opium to the Chinese people who had gold to trade for it. Addicts choose to use drugs. The people who supply the drugs don’t have to force addicts to buy them.

“A greedy pharmaceutical industry”? This explains nothing. An entire industry is “greedy”? Why isn’t the same true of the lumber or sugar or steel industries? Why isn’t it true of all industries? A greedy pharmaceutical industry. Not the ridiculous FDA. A greedy pharmaceutical industry. So we’re race-conscious Bernie people. Got it.

    People are now doing H?

‘Same big pharma that hooked people on opioids now profits again from addicts’ switch to heroin’

The same pharma companies that profited from the opioid epidemic in the US by hooking patients on their drugs are profiting again as their victims migrate to heroin and participate in needle exchange programs, an attorney told RT.

The opioid epidemic is one of the biggest stories of 2017. The number of people dying from big pharma’s prescription narcotics has skyrocketed. But the same pharmaceutical companies that profited from creating the crisis in the first place, and received a slap on the wrist for it, are now profiting from it again, attorney Peter Mougey said in an interview with RT America’s Mike Papantonio.

Alcohol kills (and have been killing for decades) more people than opioids and no one seems to be overly concerned about it.

Alcohol has been part of human culture for thousands of years so it lacks the impact of foreignness that newer drugs have. Those who drink think “I can handle it”, whether they can or not. Life is painful risky and some people opt for a way to deflect that.

Non-drinkers who are impacted are too much in the minority, so the effort is to mitigate the worst effects.

This is not an objective, rational process, but a subjective one. Objective, rational analysis is useless in this instance.

Is the CIA putting Jews in the forfront to make people see them easily?
CIA could probably assissinate major banking families.

Or the Mossad could be looking into the CIA. And the money connection keeps the Jews and CIA together.

The Rockefellers, Kissingers were behind eugenics. They are succeeding in many ways on the depopulation front. (connected to the SSRIs which mess with sex in all ways for just about everybody,

  179. polskijoe says:

For many years it was said that the eugenics and depopulation crowd wanted to target Africa.

Kissinger met with China and they introduced 1 child policy.

I remember a Native American saying they will do with you, as they did with us.

  180. dcite says:

Yes. The entire industry is greedy. That doesn’t mean they don’t produce some good products, allow some good deals. Or that some employed in it are not good people. But the people at the top, who run it, are there to make money. I once heard of a naturopath doctor whose herb field was destroyed by government agents after he claimed to have cured cancer, and made his cases public. The agents told him, “Cancer is our industry. Leave it alone.”
And looking at the power institutions supposedly devoted to curing cancer, and thinking of the money made by all the personnel, do you think they really want to cure anything?
Most doctors say they themselves would never do chemotherapy if they were diagnosed with cancer.

are you intentionally shilling for the Jews?

Don’t you realize that once Marijuana was legalized in Colorado in 2012, the Mexican cartel had to switch to a different product, and one of their new products were opiods/heroin?
The Democrats/Jews have been letting Mexicans and central Americans into the US by the boatloads since 2012.

There is a very large criminal Mexican and central American gang network throughout the US, they are dealing in heroin/oxy/meth and fentanyl. they are also trafficking in women and children.

do some actual research on this

Franco, THIS is the fatalism inherent in the Germanic gene that I have constantly referred to.
Ironically most of the down and out whites seem to be the anglo scotts and the various other germanic peoples. Despite that, they’d rather overdose/kill themselves can take a chance and ‘rock the boat’ since they are the ones with nothing to lose. Too many just think of killing themselves can going off script and taking a stand. Guess we’ll need another fuhrer to whip them into a frenzy again.

Even with all the POZ around, Sicilians and he Irish [outliers who were deemed the most unfit and lowly peoples of the west] are doing better. YET, you’ll find that most of the alt-right today is dominated by these very peoples who were deemed inferior by the anglo-saxons [the italians, croats, serbs and the slavic types, some irish] .

I believe had the Italians and other ‘lowly whites’ been where the anglo-saxons of the rust belt are, it would have gotten a lot more nastier for the PC establishment. Except Ireland [which is quite surprising to me], none of our home nations are being pozzed to the same degree as those of the saxons despite the pressure that is being exerted by the globo-homo darklords [backed by DC]. That should tell you something. An inherent fatalism and melancholy has set into the very souls of your folks, which if not shaken off will ultimately be the killing of the west as we know [since you guys are putatively in the driver’s seat, even if a scheming (((globalist))) is watching you from behind]

I have to disagree with parts of that comment – the people hit hardest by opioids and white death are Irish and Scotch-Irish people in Appalachia. Anglos seem to still be doing fine – for now – the H1-Bs will eventually steal our jobs too.

But you are bang on about the internal fatalism. I feel it too, it’s a very difficult genetic problem I have. Too depressive, especially in the face of mass immigration. That said, I’ve recently been in a better place about the future. It’s all about working yourself up. Once the Anglo sets his mind on something, he can achieve it. I’m connecting with nationalists and we are working hard.

Can you do some thinking into the inner workings of the “less developed” European brain?

I’ve come to the conclusion of why germanics are such pussies. It’s because we don’t like to admit that anything is going wrong, we like to be in control. It feels icky to admit that we’re losing our countries, and our replacements hate us. We don’t like feeling bad, to the point where we would rather die off than face reality. I even have a hard time admitting this to myself.

Any insights into the ethnics heads that makes them stronger?
