Above: The New York Times’s Wil Hylton wrote: “[O]ne of the most incendiary pieces to carry the notorious ‘‘black crime’’ tag was written by a man named Jerome Hudson, who, like some other black conservatives, worries that the focus on police brutality is siphoning outrage away from gang violence.”

The Main Stream Media was fairly obsessed with the fact that the upstart conservative site Breitbart had a “Black Crime” tag while Steve Bannon was still running it, making special mention of it in their respective “point and splutter”-style articles about how vile they consider Breitbart to be [Here Are Some Of The Incendiary Stories Published By Trump’s Chief Strategist, by Tasneem Nashrulla, BuzzFeed, November 14, 2016; We Finally Know What Is Too Openly Racist Even for Breitbart, by David Uberti, Splinter News, February 5, 2018; Down the Breitbart Hole, by Wil S. Hylton, The New York Times, August 16, 2017].

While technically true, the situation was overstated. In all of 2015 and 2016, a grand total of seven Breitbart articles were tagged with “Black Crime.” That made for an average of about one “Black Crime” story every four months. Surely not even Leftists think there is that little black crime.

Moreover, during that time Breitbart would report black crime, but not actually tag it “Black Crime.” For example, Black Man Accused of Rape Told Victim He Targeted Her ‘Because She’s White,’ published on November 5, 2016, was never tagged “Black Crime.” It is tagged “Big Government” though…I don’t know why.

At some point in late 2017 or early 2018, Breitbart deleted the tag altogether. Presumably it did this because it decided the tag was unseemly. However, on strictly utilitarian grounds, if you are only using a tag once every few months, you may as well delete it—especially if said tag isn’t comprehensive, and theirs was not.

But then the tag was revived for the February 26, 2018 article Sheriff David Clarke: Democrats ‘Have Screwed this Country Up with Failed, Liberal Urban Policies,’ written by the distinctly swarthy Adelle Nazarian. (Right.)

Except that when the tag was revived, none of the articles that had been tagged “Black Crime” before regained the tag. The “Black Crime” tag showed just one article: Nazarian’s about Sheriff Clarke.

Not that it mattered much, as the “Black Crime” tag was deleted entirely once again shortly thereafter.

All of the articles that had this tag are still on the site, mind you, it’s just that they no longer have the tag “Black Crime.” How many more times Breitbart will revive and delete this tag is anyone’s guess.

But in fairness to Breitbart, it is not the only conservative website that is of two minds about this sort of thing. The Federalist used to have a “Black Crime” tag as well. Like Breitbart, it did not use it very much, only about five times in all of 2016. But in September of 2017, a screenshot of the tag started making the rounds on Twitter, and The Federalist quickly deleted the tag. Unlike Breitbart, Federalist has yet to revive it—though it certainly could at any time.

And just as with Breitbart, the articles that had this tag were not deleted. This is an important detail because it shows that neither Breitbart nor The Federalist came to believe any of their reporting or writing was factually inaccurate—they simply conceded that a particular way some of their stories were organized and categorized was “bad” in some abstract sense.

The issue was not the facts, it was Noticing that the facts had a pattern—a recurring Steve Sailer theme.

(“LMAO” is an acronym for “laughing my ass off.” Will Menaker is a popular Leftist commentator for his role as the de facto frontman of the socialist podcast “Chapo Trap House.”)

It is pathetic that these two websites, both of which are not without their virtues, caved to Leftist pressure. Why the proprietors of either site think they will be redeemed in the eyes of the Left because they deleted it is beyond me. Now the Left thinks both websites are not only racist, but cowardly and susceptible to attack as well.

Regardless, neither sites’ “Black Crime” tag was very good. If, like many Americans, you are looking for comprehensive and honest information about crime and its racial dynamics, stick with VDARE and American Renaissance. VDARE has a great “anti-white hate crimes” tag with nearly two hundred posts. We have a tag on “not reporting race” which is about the MSM’s refusal to tag any black crimes as black.

We have a tag on “Immigrant Mass Murder”, which is about the habit of some immigrants–many of them black–committing mass killings.

We have a tag on “Disgruntled Minority Massacre” about “workplace” shootings that take place when an employer hires, and then is forced to fired, a member of an angry minority group. Typical headline: Disgruntled Minority Massacre: Black Gunman Shoots Five Non-Black Fellow Employees, Killing Three.

AmRen has tags for “anti-white racism,” “black on white crime,” and “minority-on-white crime,” with over a hundred posts each.

If you’re at work or school and cannot access dissident sites, remember this open secret: the Breitbart tags “crime,” “rape,” and “gang-rape,” all might as well be “minority-on-white crime”—they are just too chicken to say so.

  1. Thank you, Hubert Collins. Thank you, VDARE. Thank you, American Renaissance. Thank you for sensibly noticing tsboo ‘patterns’ and talking about them.

But when will you take the next step?–(or will have to lead the way?)

Here are some possible tags that would make sense and that people could use:

Should there be a tag for ‘Israeli aggression’?

Should there be a tag for ‘pro-Zionist political interference’?

Should there be a tag for ‘double-standards which benefit Israel’?

Should there be a tag for ‘hasbara’?

    Just wondering.

  2. “It is pathetic that these two websites, both of which are not without their virtues, caved to Leftist pressure. Why the proprietors of either site think they will be redeemed in the eyes of the Left because they deleted it is beyond me.”

    Redeemed? Hardly.

But if they persisted in using the tag, they’d face the same fate as VDare, which is to be cast as hateful hating Nazis, and, worse still, their banking and financing arrangements would be severely curtailed, and the guys at both sites don’t want to give up living relatively large to merely stand on principle.

I doubt BB cares what the left thinks.. BB has firmly established it’s self on the right, all while being labeled Nazis, racists and all the other favorite catch phrases of the day by every leftist who has been given the opportunity to voice their opinion on them…the labels have long been diluted and lost their effect…. Predictably, ” black crime” Just lost it’s interest to readers…Sort of like a new study on eating your vegetables and calling it news… Yeah.. Black crime… we get it…nothing new.. moved on.

I grew up in a Greater Detroit middle-class neighborhood of Germans, Irish, Jews and a few Sicilians (Who were regarded as Latinos the way Ralph Macchio was circa the Karate Kid era)

When middle-class black professionals fled Detroit (Before the working class Polish-Catholics in fact) into our neighborhood, these folks expressed a real astonishment at how well behaved! white kids were.

To the average suburbanite white, we were fairly rambunctious as German, Irish and yes Jewish boys can be. Setting off the odd fireworks in bee’s nests, shooting BB guns at the odd deer, even knocking on doors and running away. Not to mention a fair number of fistfights, which German-American and Irish-American and Italians kids will get into.

Yet the black professionals expressed astonishment at how polite we were and well-behaved!

Cognitive dissonance only goes so far.

    “Hateful Nazis”

I grew up in a fairly German-American enclave like Trump’s father-the equivalent of Queens.

What always astonished me is that many Nazis immigrated from Germany (Legally) after the war to Michigan and other German-American communities (Texas too) and nobody ever directed any real animosity towards them even though they made no bones about having been Nazis in the war!

One Nazi in my neighborhood of Greater Detroit was a GP doctor and half of his patience must have been local middle-class J.

He never showed in apprehension (Or particular interest) J. As far as he was concerned, the war was over and after some period of time in a POW camp he immigrated to Detroit and set up his practice.

I do not mean to flood this site with low-quality posts but it is odd that J need only look in Queens for former Nazis or the children of former Nazis but they are focused on South Carolina or somewhere.

  6. Hashtags are unnecessary when facts are self-evident. Everyone, deep-down, is red-pilled after the age of 5.

Nobody who watches “Death Wish” actually believes that the home invaders/rapists will look like Jeff Goldblum. Everyone KNOWS what they will look like. If the crime involves a Medicaid fraud or a Ponzi scheme THEN the offender will look like Jeff Goldblum. If it involves a rape/home-invasion/car jacking it will involve someone who looks like, well, our poster child there.

However, when someone is tried under the RICO statute in the Northeast for committing 30 or 40 homicides while exhibiting a fairly placid normal life we know this criminal WON’T be black or Mestizo. He’ll be a swarthy white guy with a name like Gotti or Soprano. Mostly because blacks and Mestizos are not smart enough to perpetrate organized crime capable of bribing public officials or extorting from unions through front-business like construction companies.

We all KNOW who the patterns of crime according to race/ethnicity. Everyone knows. Even the Leftists know full well.

So it is not even cognitive dissonance.

    An Odd Disparity

I was born in 1974 and am old enough to remember when Italian crime families in the eighties killed on another in public.

What was different about it was that dead mobsters blasted bodies were always front-page news like that famous shot of the one boss in his car shot through the mouth.

The media LOVED covering mob killings. They loved going into the details of the crime-how the deceased “soldier” had been frozen for six months by some mad Polish hit man or how he had been found with dollar bills shoved up his ass.

Nobody cared of course, if some “dirtbag” got whacked like Ralphie or Richie. There was no mourning at a man’s life cut short like there is when a young black man is killed. There was in fact, in the 1980’s when mob wars were at their worst, a sort of delirious joy.

Yet black crime gets none of this coverage.

  8. @Jeff Stryker

The point was that anyone who is right of center left is now at risk of being branded a Nazi and shiput out of commerce and media, and almost certainly so if they dare stray anywhere toward alt-right. It’s one reason why supposedly “Conservative” rags like NR read like the New Republic of the 1980s.

One of best moves I ever made was letting my Nation Review subscription lapse. At that time it had not yet overtly manifested its later neocon proclivities so it can be chalked up to my prescience.

  10. fnn says:

    “Chapo Trap House.”

WTF kind of word salad is that? It’s not funny, clever or even interesting. Wikipedia: “They chose the name “Chapo Trap House” in the first episode as a joking reference to the Mexican drug lord Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán and a slang term for a drug house…” Does it mean they identify with Mexican drug lords or heroin use?

  11. Saxon says:

They’re a bunch of bougie hipsters who idolize the likes of that drug lord and have really dumb ideas about how the world works because they live in a rarefied bubble where they aren’t affected by things like immigration of racial aliens, 3rd world populations being their actual neighbors, oh and they do no real work either.

  12. Svigor says:

I just got banned from commenting at Breitbart. No warning, no probation period, just banned, with no reason given or recourse suggested. So much for them being friendly to the “alt right.” I’ve got similar “friends” at The New York Times and The Washington Post.

  13. Svigor says:

But if they persisted in using the tag, they’d face the same fate as VDare, which is to be cast as hateful hating Nazis

“Nazi,” “antisemite,” etc; what Jews call White people (inter alia) they don’t like.

  14. @Svigor

They only want those “Don’t mess with the jews” goyim.

  15. @Svigor

Of course Kikebart banned you. They’re admittedly hasbara.

Breitbart News was “founded by Jews, is largely staffed by Jews, and has an entire section dedicated to reporting on and defending the Jewish state of Israel,” that organization’s Jewish CEO Larry Solov has announced.
