At the beginning of this month, I’d released eBook versions of my American Pravda and Meritocracy article collections, each running a hefty 300,000 words or more, and together containing nearly all my published writings of the last thirty years, with the bulk of the material having been produced in the last few. The response was quite positive, and the eBooks have already been downloaded nearly 10,000 times, quite an improvement from the 15 or 20 copies that I’d sold in hardcover on Amazon over the last twelve months. Although I personally prefer reading lengthy works in hard copy, it’s clear than many others feel differently, especially if the price is free.

However, a couple of commenters claimed that the ancient art of reading itself was quickly falling into disuse among the younger generation, at least if the length of the text is greater than a few Tweets. Therefore, they strongly urged me to consider producing audio versions of my articles, arguing that this format might have far greater reach than the printed word, as demonstrated by the growing popularity of podcasts. While I think the looming disappearance of reading may be somewhat exaggerated, the suggestion seemed a very reasonable one. After all, including time spent on reading, research, and writing, the body of work had probably absorbed well over 15,000 hours of my time to produce, and adding just a sliver more effort to bring it to an additional audience would probably be extremely cost-effective.

One problem I faced is that so much of my article content is complex, highly specialized, and quite controversial, so I can’t imagine recruiting someone else to produce professionally-read versions would work. Even if I took that approach, the time I’d need to spend supervising, reviewing, and correcting the output would almost certainly exceed the time required to do the job myself, so the latter choice seemed the only realistic option. Twenty years ago when I was doing political campaigns, I would work with a crew of professionals at local studios doing endless takes to get the sixty-second radio spots exactly right, but comparable hardware and software is now available for any personal computer. And given the huge volume of material, I was aiming at “good enough” rather than professional perfection, while the content of my articles was anyway far more important than the stylistic delivery.

I recorded and posted a couple of short sample audio articles, and most of the listeners seemed to think that they fell into the “good enough” category. So gritting my teeth, I went ahead and diligently spent the last three weeks producing audio versions of nearly 100 of my articles, including all the longer and more substantial ones. Amazingly enough, my voice held out in reading, reviewing, and correcting those 500,000 words of text, which I did my best to keep in the “good enough” category. And since the project probably absorbed less than 1% of the original writing effort, it certainly seemed a worthwhile effort.

All the audio files are in the standard mp3 format and I’ll soon be making them available in standard venues such as SoundCloud and YouTube, but for now here’s the complete listing, including the time-length of each item. Just click the Speaker icon, listen to the output, and see what you think. The audio versions of several of my longest articles run two or three hours, so I’ve also provided these broken into multiple parts.

All the works are grouped in categories: my American Pravda series, mostly produced in the last few years; my articles on race, ethnicity, and social policy, which had been the main focus of my writing during the previous two decades from the early 1990s onward; my Economics articles, mostly connected with raising the Minimum Wage; and my other writings. Also, all individual article pages with available audio versions now provide that just above the text itself.

Just below these new audio file links, I’ve also grouped several of my podcast interviews from the last couple of years, most of which run an hour or longer.

Each of my two major eBook collections are enormously long, and contain numerous lengthy and important individual articles, some of which themselves run 20,000 words or longer. Therefore, I’ve also decided to release about a dozen of these as stand-alone eBooks, which are listed below, together with the two full collections.

Last year, Facebook banned our website and Google deranked all our pages, substantially reducing our ability to bring our content to the attention of a broader audience. Since all these mp3 audio files or eBooks are being made freely available without cost, please consider widely redistributing these files on other websites or content distribution channels, thereby making the material available to many additional individuals.

Finally, although I don’t use social media myself, Gab has now finally come out with a Share button, which we’ve added to all our pages. Once Parler recovers and its system is fully working again, with do the same with that. It’s unfortunate that we were banned by Facebook last year, but others of far greater prominence, notably the serving president of the United States, also suffered that same fate.

I’ve been sampling and listening to a number of of the audios. They are superb! Excellent reading by Ron and studio-like sound quality. Can’t wait for my long runs and drives to binge on these!

The audio format will result in more people being exposed to this material. Especially when copied virally and posted on Internet Archive, Library Genesis, YouTube, etc.

    • Agree: utu
    • Thanks: Ron Unz

Wow, thanks!! They sound great (to my ‘primitive’ ears :). My old eyes don’t do well with paper; increasing the font in on-line/ebooks is helpful; audio is very nice, even though my ears are getting old, too, lol! So even this oldster is very, very appreciative of your efforts, and will help get this history, information, wisdom, etc. ‘out’. Thanks again, Ron (what a treasure).

    Me too.

    Thank you Sir!

  4. Nice! Now I’ve got more material to listen to when I’m on the road. Thanks!

This is a game changer Ron. I can’t thank you enough.

  6. So many great articles … so little time.

As some others have said, my/our old eyes don’t work quite as well as in years gone by, so the e-book format with adjustable type sizes works beautifully.

Many, many thanks, Ron Unz … job very well done, sir.

  7. Impressive. Thanks a lot. I will spread the word(s)!

  8. Nancy says:

Having listened to a few more, I can’t thank Ron enough : ) Except, perhaps, to ask that the high/loudest end of the sound range be set higher. My old ears do not function optimally (plus I have a relatively old, cheap, beta chromebook, and have to use earbuds – so as to not disturb a roommate), but compared to other podcasts, I can’t seem to increase the volume satisfactorily, and Ron’s are the most interesting that I have access to!

If I am asking for special treatment, or a particularly difficult adjustment, please ignore this. I WILL find a away to hear this exciting information. But, perhaps I’m not the only one who struggles a bit to benefit from Ron’s amazing amount of work.

Thanks, again! “You shall know the truth….” and the truth tellers shall be rewarded : )

Thanks for bringing that potential problem to my attention. I just finished reprocessing all the audio files, very substantially raising the amplitude, so I think they may be easier for you and others to now hear.

I’ve also now added links to a couple of additional eBooks, with more to come. These are some of my longer and more substantial individual articles, and although they’re already contained in the very large collections, I think it makes sense to provide them separately as well.

In addition, I also added links to a few of my podcast interviews over the last couple of years or so.

    Thanks Ron.
    Much appreciated.

  15. Anything in the pipeline for the American Pravda series, Ron?

    @Ron Unz

Yes, Ron, I can hear you now! Loud and clear, lol What a pleasure… thank you, thank you, thank you : ) ox

  17. JackOH says:

Nice work, Ron. I had an audio book phase in the 1990s, listening mostly to fiction I’d read when younger. Like getting re-acquainted in an old-shoe way with a once provocative friend you’d get into shoving matches with. Print can eye-gouge me; voice is “comfortable”.

Your delivery is schoolmasterish–that’s a compliment. You care about your stuff, and whether your readers/listeners are getting it.

Plus, you have activist and electoral experience and credibility. To my eyeballs and ears, that means a lot.

Thanks for this effort. I was going to volunteer to record some of this material for you, but I can see that the physical demand to do what you’ve done could put an old man like me in the hospital. LOL

I would love to see some of the other works, such as David Irving on WWII, put in a format that I could get them downloaded to an e-reader, like Kindle. Maybe they already are and I’m missing something.

    Anyway, thank you very much.

  21. Thank you for your time. Will try to spread this as much as I can.

There is no doubt the power of the spoken word is paramount. The combination of your chosen words with your calm voice is singular.

I am reminded of the power of reading to children, when I do so with my younger son each night. It is captivating for the intellectual mind.

And while I hope to have a strong developed imagination after three degrees, and I can actively listen to your writer’s voice without your speaking, many cannot yet. Perhaps they were not read to enough as a child.

A teacher once taught me if you want to have power over something, watch it. Vigilantly.

Listening – and reading – are the easy means of genuine ownership. By the way, I am the proud owner of the hardcopy.

    Thanks for both,

  23. GeeBee says:

Bravo! I can’t wait to listen to them. Perhaps, some years hence, a grateful nation might bestow great honours upon you (in today’s ‘clown world’, of course, the opposite holds sway).

I’m sorry but audio books just seem oxymoronic and wrong. But eh I m surprised to know I m a snob too

  25. That’s a shitload of spoken words!

Okay Ron, admit it: You cloned yourself.

(Which is a good thing, if you ask me. We need more Ron Unzs around……. )

I was listening to audiobooks in my cassette player of my Hyundai 20 years ago- cassettes that I checked out from the library. I still remember certain moments in my life- in an apartment, eating homemade chili and being so rapt by an audio book that I would get up, hit rewind and listen to a passage again.

Ron, your skills are on par with the great Frank Muller.

Unbelievable. Your voice is soothing, yet captures the attention.

I have just loaded up Oddities of the Jewish Religion for a long walk.

What a treasure trove. What a man you are.

“Okay Ron, admit it: You cloned yourself.”

Yes! I wonder about the same thing. When I first read that his articles were put “on tape” as it were, I figured that Unz being the computer wizard that he is, wrote a program that would convert written words into an audio artificial voice.

Then I listened and recognized his voice from previous podcast. Could it be that he personally sat down an recorded all those words? In dramatic inflection ‘to boot”. I still think there has to be some computer wizardry going on.

Whatever! I can’t thank him enough for the podcasts and ebooks.

  29. Mr. Unz,

I feel compelled to state the obvious. To say you are an amazing man seems woefully inadequate. Your productivity in itself is impressive, but the nature and value of what you produce puts you in a rare class of patriots. If I were to once again hear the parental refrain of my youth, “Mister, I hope you appreciate … ,” I now easily reply, “I do, more than you could know.”

    Thank you

Thanks for the very kind words. And since Facebook, Google, and Reddit have banned our links, it would be great if a few of the visitors here could help spread the mp3 files and eBooks to various discussion forums and other distribution channels.

Although I read most of these pieces, they are worth listening to for a second exposure.

I intended on reading “Understanding WW2” and “The Secrets of Military Intelligence” to my parents at some point. Perhaps they would appreciate them better in the author’s own voice.
The Pravda articles are very important. I literally had the same thoughts as Ron over the years about our media…….that they were getting so dishonest in supporting narratives that their executive producers and directors wanted, that they were often lying by omission to the extent that the public were drawing the wrong conclusions. Jesus accused the Pharisees of “straining at a gnat in their neighbors eye” while “ignoring a camel in their own eye”. Our media is often like this. Minimizing 60 people shot in Chicago in one weekend, while making huge political hay out of one woman dying at a right-wing gathering in Charlottesville. One is much worse than the other, but you wouldn’t know it. The Vioxx article is the one Ron wrote that really drew me in. About half a million extra deaths, and nobody knows about it. Merk got off with a small fine that was easy for them to absorb.

  36. ooooohhh. Fancy! Thanks Randy! Did you do this just for us reeding disabeld backwoods trailer folk that caint reed guud? Fixin to lissin at one now hear!

  37. Anonymice says:

Excellent audio quality on the first one I listened to – Oddities of the Jewish Religion. The reason was to gain some understanding on the disproportionate Jewish power and absolute control of our country by Jewish groups on behalf of Israel. Religion is a good place to start, since much collective political and social behaviors are rooted in religious beliefs. Listening to the audio was a real revelation for me. I had always thought of myself as having transcended the petty straitjackets of identity (which is not an achievement but a genetic trait and religion because I made a conscious choice to opt out of organized religion for what I saw as its controlling nature. But after reading through some of Ron’s earlier thoroughly investigated and lengthy essays, I could not help thinking that you had out-transcended me by a country mile. Being Jewish, Ron sets up a no holds barred website regarding our country’s sacred cow, Israel, among other taboos. After listening to the audio from the horse’s own mouth, in a manner of speaking, the extreme evil of Jewish power has never become clearer. The quest for world control starts right here in America where Jewish power absolutely has us by the balls.

Reading through Ron’s pieces, one is tempted to conclude that one is gifted a front seat into an insider’s revelations, although the research that goes into producing these essays says that Ron is anything but. Obviously, to Ron’s tribesmen he is one of a growing number of quislings, traitors and self-haters. The evil that I gathered from the audio is so gut wrenching as to make a mockery of Giraldi’s suggestion on how to deal with Israel. Besides wiping Zionists from the face of the earth, I cannot see any other solution to dealing with this modern day monster. And to think the so-called Zionist Christians are making common cause with this evil entity is testimony to the corrupting and venomous power of religion on the mind. Worse yet, our Arab puppets, the UAE, Bahrain and Morocco having opened their doors to this monstrosity have no idea what they have gotten themselves into. Their destruction, not by their nemesis Iran, but by their new found friend, Israel, is assured.

Each time I visit UR, I expect to see a sign similar to one at the website of the American Herald Tribune which was seized by the FBI, Compared to UR, AHT was nowhere near the UR in their criticism of Israel. Now a question to you Ron, should that happen, what contingency plans do you have for UR?

  38. Hi Ron, just wanted to ask how the new “Newslinks” section is working out. Are many people actually looking at the links?

  39. @Nancy

You’re the first woman I’ve ever seen make a comment on this website. Love it or hate it, but this website tends to be a sausage fest. LOL.

Experience, yes. Credibility would depend upon one’s perspective.
    Summary Biography of Ron Unz

In 1994, he launched a surprise Republican primary challenge to incumbent Gov. Pete Wilson of California, running on a conservative, pro-immigrant platform against the prevailing political sentiment, and received 34% of the vote. Later that year, he campaigned as a leading opponent of Prop. 187, the anti-immigration initiative, and was a top featured speaker at a 70,000 person pro-immigrant march in Los Angeles, the largest political rally in California history to that date.

To my eyeballs and ears, that means a lot.

A lot, yes, but what does it mean…

  41. Stefano says:

I have been listening to these during my daily walks and have to congratulate you Ron on their uniform quality, and on the tremendous effort that must have been involved. However, they have piqued my curiosity regarding my own little speciality, linguistics. You seem to have an idiolect all your own, and if it isn’t too probing a question I would be very interested in knowing how it came about. For example, you pronounce “huge” as “yuge”, which, while typical of New Yorkers of a certain age, is entirely unheard of in California. I recall reading you grew up speaking Yiddish in the home, and yet your pronunciation of German, which closely resembles that language, is rather idiosyncratic, with “reich” coming out “reisch” and “hungerjahr” with the English short u. And “zealotry” retains the long diphthong of “zeal”, which I have never heard in an English accent, and there are various more examples of this kind. It is certainly very interesting from my point of view, and I was somewhat surprised nobody had brought it up in the comments, and I hope I am not breaking any social code by doing so.

That’s very interesting. I’ve never thought of myself as having any particular accent, and as far as I know, my pronunciation of “huge” is entirely standard:

Otherwise, I’ve certainly never spoken Yiddish, let alone grew up in that language. You shouldn’t believe all the nonsense floating around on the Internet.

Do keep in mind that producing audio files for around 500,000 words of written text was an enormous undertaking, and I’m sure I carelessly mispronounced or garbled a certain number of words along the way. At times, I realized that I’d almost never heard the spoken version of some of the more esoteric ones, and tried to look them up, but sometimes didn’t bother.

  43. JackOH says:

Ron, have you thought of a “road package” for those audio articles? I’m thinking a sort of hybrid speaker’s tour that has your recorded recitation of your articles with a slide show backdrop suited to each article (TWA 800 photos, BLM protests, etc.). After maybe 75 minutes, have the presenter announce you or a surrogate in person on stage to take questions, offer background to your thinking, and so on.

Call it the American Pravda tour. Sounds a little crazy, but there may be some real hunger for post-pandemic speaker programs, and a mainstream speakers’ bureau may be willing to give you a shot.

  44. Nick2116 says:

    Hi Ron,

Thank you so much for putting all of this information out there. I’m only becoming familiar with your work now, and with each new article I feel like I’m being transported into an alternate dimension. I’m mainly commenting to recommend that you (or someone) upload these audio files to and If these videos ever start racking up significant views on YouTube (which they probably will) they will almost certainly be deleted. is a newly emerging platform that’s gaining a lot of traction on the right wing since it’s strongly anti-censorship and (apparently) very solid technically, and I’m sure you’re at least somewhat familiar with bitchute already.

Also, since you’re doing podcasts, would you ever consider going on The Ralph Retort? It’s a popular online show that’s managed to thrive despite being wiped off YouTube a few years ago. A lot of young people watch it (I’d call it one of the central nodes of the dissident right for people under the age of thirty) and many fairly prominent people, such as Peter Brimelow and Michelle Malkin, have appeared on it recently. I’m sure Ralph would love to have you on. In case you’re interested here’s the contact info:
