Democrats are destined to dominate the mail in vote:

Many of those ballots will not have been received and processed by election night. When the time comes to start calling states, will the corporate media extrapolate the results of the yet-to-be-received votes based on the mail in ballots that have been counted up to that point? How reliable will that ultimately prove to be in nail biters like North Carolina and Florida?

The same process will happen in tight house and senate elections. States like Oregon that are accustomed to mail in voting will be mostly completed by November 3rd, but in states where the method has up to this point been the exception rather than the rule, many people will wait to drop their ballots in the mail on Monday or Tuesday. The GOP will thus be looking good with regards to confirmed vote totals on Tuesday night.

If, as this blogger expects, Biden is ultimately declared the winner, deplorables will perceive the election to have been stolen. The media will report on how Democrats are more likely to have voted by mail than Republicans and that anyone who says otherwise is a conspiracy theorist. It will be one of those rare instances in which they will be telling the truth, but Trump voters understandably won’t believe their crying “Wolf!”. The president was up by 2 million votes on election night and then wouldn’t you know they miraculously found 5 million votes for Biden, eh? Found them in a parking lot, no doubt:

Many on the left won’t trust snail mail to flip things in their favor, either. Rather than wait for all the facts to come in, they’ll do what they do best and jump to immediate conclusions. The 145th night of rioting in Portland may turn out to be the hottest one of all.

The priors on each side are already clearly defined and we’re still two months out from the election:

Welcome to the crisis of the third decade, friends.

  3. The crux of this matter is not the inconvenient, psychological drama of votes coming in late, but the huge opportunity to use mail-in ballots fraudulently. This Republican voter surely is not the only one who has already lost confidence in what the process will be this time. If Biden (HARRIS) wins, we will never believe the victory was an honest one, because we will have no way of knowing.

I still think it is likely, because Trump just screwed up the response to COVID too badly for any amount of Democratic misbehavior to offset that. Saying the liberals have helped spread the pandemic is true, but meaningless in a context where Trump presided over the greatest mass transfer of wealth in American history during the middle of a national crisis. If you want to argue about woke capital, then Trump opens himself up to a whole battery of charges there.

Biden’s too senile to even debate properly, so it doesn’t doom Trump entirely, I guess. I could be wrong. The Democrats are doing their best to make themselves unelectable, and the media has never been more thoroughly discredited than ever. If Trump were cleverer, he could take advantage of that and secure reelection. But if Trump were that clever, he wouldn’t be in this electoral mess in the first place because he would have taken the GOP Establishment off life support back in 2017.

If Trump does win reeelection, BLM and Antifa are going to go so wild that the local governors are going to have to allow federal support in or risk being lynched by angry constituents. Don’t let Twitter fool you: people are getting very, very mad at the riots and are increasingly not averse to seeing some of them get beaten up or become road pizza, regardless of whether that translates into support for Trump or not.

  5. I believe Trump will win reelection. I believe Biden and Harris and the Democratic establishment already know this. They are not running a campaign for electoral victory. They are running to be the leaders of the shadow government, the permanent “resistance.” They already have the Deep State, the academy, the corporations, and the Antifa brownshirts on their side, so why not simply proceed with that? Who needs elected office anymore when you have all that unofficial power? In some ways this position is even more attractive because you can enact your policies without having to worry about the legality of it. No Congress, no Supreme Court, no Constitution to get in the way; just do what you want and maintain plausible deniability. It’s a progressive tyrant’s dream come true.

Yes, the fix is already baked in.
The dead people who voted in 2016 are still on the electoral rolls.
The people who voted in more than one state, if not removed from the rolls, can still cast two (or more) ballots.
The illegal aliens who voted in 2016, are still illegal, still alien, and still here.
Who knows the number of non-citizens who will vote this time around?

More votes than ever will be harvested (true, it’s not 100% effective, as the Republicans did hang on to one district in Orange County in 2018. On the other hand, this was possibly a generous token gesture to keep up the facade of democracy).

Yes, this November, the Dems are not going to leave it to the American people to oust Trump.

If he’s to have any hope, Trump himself will have to win by a Nixonian/Reaganite landslide- and even then, well who knows….

Plus, the Dems want it ALL, so House and Senate Republicans will have to win their races ‘beyond the margin of lawyer’ (quoting Mark Steyn).

  8. Basically, I agree. I think the few weeks after Nov 3 are going to be extremely tense and emotional.

One thing I haven’t seen discussed anywhere yet is the possibility of Republicans being accused of vote fraud vis-a-vis the mail-in ballots. No one talks about it because no one thinks Republicans will do it, but if they appear to be winning the counts, I think the Democrats will do anything to discredit them. This is one of those scenarios that could trigger the “coup” events Michael Anton wrote about recently.

We need human rights voting advisors, maybe including an ex-President from a country in Central America. It’s only fair to pay us back for helping them all back in the 1970s and ’80s.

That only helps with the in-person voting booth side of it. Mail-in balloting is a very easily corruptible system. Count me in as another guy who doesn’t trust the system.

  10. @MBlanc46

I wouldn’t bet ALL my money on it, Mr. Blanc, but I’m afraid you are right. Replier Ano explained some details very well. I don’t think there’s any Nixon ’72 or Reagan ’84 landslide in the cards. There would be if a huge majority of White people voted for Trump, but look at Portland, Oregon and despair.

When I go in person to one of the voting locations, the number of black people lined up out the door is overwhelming, and the whole thing seems like a waste of time. I guess it’s not the same out in the exurbs.

    Lol, illegal aliens.

So what you’re saying is that Donald Trump totally failed to accomplish any of his stated mission priorities, which can be easily enforced by executive action at any time, right?

Why then, do you dumbasses continue to devote the time of day to supporting or discussing political candidates/elections?

FYI, the covid lockdown stopped immigration (legal and illegal) more effectively than any Republican politician ever would. What you’re saying is wrong. There are in fact fewer immigrants here today than there would be if there were no lockdown. But I guess you’re against the lockdown because you want Donald Trump to get re-elected?

Fuck Donald Trump and the Republicans. You have to let the Republican party die if you want anything even remotely anti-immigrant to take its place. Republicans are the party of minimum wage jobs for wetbacks; just like they were the party of minimum wage factory jobs for Negroes, before we had wetbacks. It’s Democrats who are the anti-immigrant party. If you’re the least bit anti-immigrant and still supporting any laissez faire liberal party, you are a hapless retard and I hope you get rear-ended by a drunk wetback and saved by a black good samaritan who pulls you out of your ruined vehicle, slits your throat, and runs off with whatever meager personal savings you might have been carrying on your person (including any children I hope you didn’t have). Since most of you seem to live in white peril red states like Texas and Florida, there is actually a considerable statistical probability that this could happen.

So do the right thing. Vote for Biden and be part of the solution, not the problem. Stop letting the Republicans fuck you in the ass (and the mind).

Yeah. Biden winning the election legitimately but Trump supporters refusing to accept the result is a scenario that is extremely possible. Biden winning the election legitimately but Trump himself refusing to accept the result is also a very possible scenario.

At this stage it doesn’t seem to matter if either candidate wins legitimately – both sides have already psyched themselves up to refuse to accept a vote that goes against them.

So either way things are likely to get very nasty.

I’m not saying that fraud by either side is impossible. All I’m saying is that even if there isn’t fraud the losing side will respond as if there was fraud. In fact in their present states of mind both sides probably genuinely believe that the other is going to commit electoral fraud.

Yes, I don’t think a Trump landslide is on the cards- unless, unless, White Americans (and not just the Trump 2016 voter ones) look at Portland (et al) and not despair; but connect the fires at the mostly peaceful protests with the growing warmth of the water in the frying pan.

But these people have to first realize they are the frogs.

By the way, who do you think is going to be Secretary for Get Whitey in the Harris Cabinet?

Sorry, trick question. It’ll be everyone in the Cabinet of course.

  17. From PhysicistDave over on the iSteve Sailer blog:

New York magazine has published the plan for the election

You have to read between the lines a bit, but here is the executive summary:

Most of Trump’s votes are counted on election day. He seems to have won, not just the Electoral College but also the popular vote.

But some of the swing states don’t start counting mail-in votes until election day, so they will not finish until several days later.

And, key point: they will therefore know how many Biden votes they need in order to beat Trump.

So, in the week or two following November 3, just enough mail-in votes will be “discovered” to swing the election to Biden.

I don’t know. Does anybody? Curious, isn’t it?

Unsolicited mail-in ballots are very hard to verify under any circumstances. How do you know who filled them out? (Do you really think signatures are enough? LOL) How do you know who mailed them in? How do you make sure the same voters aren’t also going to the polls? (They can’t be scrubbed from the lists at the polls, because they did not explicitly request mail ballots ahead of time, so they have two chances to vote.)

This is very different from pre-requested absentee ballots, which have a whole chain of verification and assurances that the same voters can’t just go to their polling places as well.

The biggest point of this is that it resembles classic, Chicago-style voter fraud, in which votes are “discovered” as needed.

Interesting note: Here in Connecticut, a Democrat-controlled state, we received an unsolicited primary ballot in the mail months ago. All we would have had to do is fill it in and mail it back to Hartford. It arrived un-asked for and unexpected. Statewide mailing.

It varies by location. There is no single standard.

    Most common:

-a- Theoretically anonymous sealed outer envelops are received & retained by the local election office. This is typically not monitored by both parties.

-b- When the “count” begins both parties are present and steps include — Not necessarily in this order:
    — The outer envelope is opened.
    — The inner envelope is validated via signature.
    — Other rules are applied # of witnesses, postmark date, etc.

-c- When the inner envelope is accepted. The anonymous ballot it contained is removed and placed in the generic pool so it cannot be traced back to the envelope.

-d- Ballots are tallied and a result is returned.

    _____

Given that we know that the DNC is going to attempt to steal the election the inevitable lawsuits are going to go though two possibly three rounds.

    There will be:

    — Step A lawsuits about handling receipts in a partisan manner
    — Step B lawsuits challenging the validation. Mostly GOP filed.
    — Step D lawsuits to include incorrectly completed ballots. Mostly DNC filed.
    — Step D lawsuits about inconsistencies. For example, the same voter showing as returned an absentee ballot and cast an in person vote.

With thousands, possibly tens or hundreds of thousands, of lawsuits it is hard to see how they can all be successfully heard by the Constitutionally required dates.

The Democrats will have successfully ended democracy. This election, and all future elections, will be decided by the House. Each State delegation gets one vote, and first to 26 wins. The DNC will permanently lose the Presidency as they will not be able to capture 26 House delegations in our lifetimes.

Anyone, who’s observed the history of voting in Illinois has to be aware how often elections were decided by “late returns” from Chicago’s dimocrat machine, “late returns” which invariably turned a stoopid party victory into a narrow dimocrat triumph. This is exactly the strategy that won Kennedy the presidency in 1960. Dimocrat strategists have already announced that this is their plan for November. They will just substitute late counting of mail-in ballots for late reporting from Chicago. I also expect an unusually large vote from the nation’s graveyards this year.

In the unlikely event that Trump still manages to eke out a narrow but undeniable victory I am sure the dimocrats will do everything in their power to delegitimate the result. Rabid dimocrat state officials will delay certifying or will refuse to certify Trump electors. Similarly, partisan judges will favor dimocrat challenges to election results favoring Trump. Soros’s legions of blm/antifa, Brown Shirt thugs will be out in force to create chaos wherever it’s needed. The USA is about to experience a “color revolution”.

  25. Voting by mail is ridiculous. If you’ve ever done any work on data security and integrity, you realize that mail-in voting fails authentication tests at every stage. The chain of custody is too long and weak. Only people intent on committing voter fraud would promote such a method. That’s all I need to know.

The battlespace is being prepped. Ohioans won’t know final, official election results for weeks

It’s the 21st century, yet our elections are less secure and timely than they were in the middle of the 20th century.

You mention the step A lawsuits above, but there are already so many opportunities for fraud even before step A. By step A, the ballot will probably have been handled by half a dozen people besides the voter, with no verifiable chain of custody.

Signature validation is among the worst types of validation. Signatures are easily forged and comparisons are entirely subjective. Even if it were an exact science, which it is not, there aren’t enough trained handwriting experts in the nation to accomplish the task. Instead it’s going to be “Hey, Laqueesha, does this look the same to you? I guess.” My voter registration card was filled out decades ago. I watched my Mom and Dad’s signatures change as they aged, and that’s not even accounting for changes due to conditions like Parkinson’s.

In-person voting with a valid photo ID should be the only form of voting allowed. You can’t make it that day? Too bad. Servicemen overseas? Heck, people collecting a government paycheck probably shouldn’t be allowed to vote anyway.

  27. It’s likely that the Democrats will “find” just enough mail-in votes to swing the election to Biden, but there is always the possibility that they will not be able to help themselves and will gin up a Biden victory with a Saddam Hussein-like margin. LBJ and Nixon both got around 60% of the vote in 1964 and 1972 respectively, but Biden is a much less popular candidate than either of those two were at the time, so anything exceeding that would be suspect. What do you suppose the public’s reaction would be upon being told that Biden had won the popular vote by a 65%-35% margin, and had carried every state in the Union including Idaho and Wyoming?

Or the Supreme Court could just designate the President like it did in 2000.

That worked in 2000 because the Supreme Court aligned with the obvious reality on the ground. The corrupt DNC was trying to rig one state for Gore, and the criminal intent was so obvious that it failed. The SC ruling brought the travesty to a peaceful end. At some level, Gore supporters knew that he had lost and were able to accept the TRUTH.
    _____

The DNC Theft 2.0 scenario would generate many more cases, across a variety of different subjects, in multiple jurisdictions. It is hard to see how multiple SC interventions would mechanically take place.

Even if the Supreme Court again delivers the obviously correct solution, confirming Trump’s victory, it would be unlikely to end the matter. Trump Derangement Syndrome [TDS] is a real mental disorder. There is every reason to believe that the SJW Democrats are so detached from reality that they are incapable of handling the TRUTH.

The Constitution is based on the concept of having sane & well informed voters. Mentally deranged voters intentionally deceived by Fake Stream Media may be more than the document can bear.

AE’s observations are very astute. I think that both sides – in an effort to avoid social unrest and civil war – need to start getting the public used to the idea that 2020 election results won’t be available on election night. That should be happening right now

Age demographics and the voter fraud will complicate things; in fact, they’ll probably be bigger factors than post-election night results. If the crazed far left masses are willing to violate societal precepts by opening borders and rioting to get their way, then why wouldn’t they be willing to violate election laws? Will fraud opportunities be increased with a large increase of mail-in ballots? Probably. There’s a reason why you usually have to get married, apply for your first driver’s license, take tests for school, etc., etc. in person.

Voter fraud potential aside, however, I think that mail-in ballots might have a net positive effect for Trump, given that older people (a big Trump demographic) might be more intimidated by germ rich election polling locations. There are close to a million people living in assisted living facilities in the US, and my intuition (as well as limited experience with my parents) tells me that these folks have traditionally avoided voting because of the effort involved. Mail-in ballots could be a boon for Trump.

The thing that I found most interesting is that most mail in ballots can be photocopied.
Back in the 70s my union had mail in ballots for elections. Although only 1500 members, each ballot had the union’s document seal embossed on the ballot. There were two envelopes the ballot went in the first, and that envelope went in the second, that required return address information. As the ballots came in, names were checked off the voters list, and the envelope put in a locked ballot box(es). After the closing date for the election, the box(es) were opened, and the inside envelope removed and put into another ballot box. During this process, the number of ballots was compared to the voters list. If all was in order, the inside envelope was opened, the ballot removed and verified it was a legal ballot, then set aside in separate piles according to candidate. At that point the ballots were counted. Any member was allowed to observe the counting process. While they didn’t know who actually filled out the ballot, they had a record of the return and verification of a legal ballot. Copying a ballot was impossible, unless done by someone who had access to the seal.
If hand embossing 1500 ballots could be by a small union in the 70s, I find it difficult to believe it can’t be done mechanically 40 years later by a government.

Have you forgotten that Trump lost the last election by 3 million votes? Have you forgotten that Trump has had a disapproval rating above 50% every month he was in office. Have you forgotten that there are more non-white voters than in 2016. Also, Trump carried Missouri in 2016 by 19% but is only polling at +4% in 2020. Even the states that Trump wins will be by smaller margin.

If President Trump is re-elected it will be with a smaller percentage of the popular vote than in 2016. That is not a blow out.

  34. @Curmudgeon

What difference would that make? The ballots have been out of secure hands the moment they were dropped in the mail to the voter. There are countless points where the ballot can be intercepted and replaced or hijacked before the ballot reaches election headquarters. Mail-in voting as a primary mechanism is insanity.

At least with absentee ballots a request has to be filed and it is only a minority of ballots (and it is still a major source of fraud).

Embossing means nothing. Embossing, like signatures, is easily faked.

You can’t put enough lipstick on this pig to make it a decent prom date.

  35. Trump is electoral toast on November 3; and the rancid Republican Party will go the way of the DODO on November 3.

Trump and Marco Rubio and Teddy “Goldman Sachs Hubby” Cruz, Willard Mittens Romney, Mitch McConnell, Tom Cotton, Josh Hawley, and most of the other evil politician whores who infest the Republican Party all push mass legal immigration and they all refuse to deport the upwards of 30 million illegal alien invaders in the USA.

Trump will get electorally crushed in Los Angeles County and all parts of New York City except Staten Island and Trump will lose the crucial Electoral College states of Pennsylvania and Wisconsin and Michigan and Florida and Arizona to Biden.

We are at a moment that all the Founding Fathers would celebrate: the ultimate destruction of an evil and treasonous globalizer faction called the Republican Party. The Founding Fathers would be joyous and grimly determined to take advantage of the utter destruction of the evil and rancid and treasonous Republican Party and they would join us to build a newer and stronger and more beautifully balanced political party called WHITE CORE AMERICA that will proudly advance the interests of the European Christian ancestral core of the USA.

The rancid Republican Party is grotesque and unbalanced and ugly, and it is led by shyster globalizer billionaires and globalizer politician whore scum and its destruction that shall pave the way for the historic American nation to reclaim its rightful inheritance. The JEW/WASP ruling class of the American Empire must be financially liquidated — legally — and they must be legally and forcibly deported to a hot and humid and rancid part of sub-Saharan Africa.

I humbly ask you to vote for the only patriotic candidate for president, me, CHARLES PEWITT, as a write-in candidate on November 3.

I wrote this brief candidate summary in February of 2020:

We must have love in our hearts and joy in our spirits when we join this write-in campaign for president. The CHARLES PEWITT campaign for president will put the interests of the USA and the American people first.

The CHARLES PEWITT campaign will put the interests of the historic American nation and the European Christian ancestral core of the USA first in all matters — here in the USA or in the world.

I am proudly running under the banner of the new political party called WHITE CORE AMERICA.

The Pewitt pledge on immigration is simple:

    IMMIGRATION MORATORIUM NOW!

DEPORT ALL ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADERS NOW!

FORCIBLY REMOVE THE FOREIGNERS NOW! — except for Genevieve Morton and Solveig Hansen — they can stay or visit the USA at their leisure.

The Pewitt Immigration Pledge will lower housing costs, boost wages, lower class sizes, reduce income inequality, protect the environment, maintain cultural cohesion, reduce overcrowding in hospitals, lessen urban and suburban sprawl, increase bargaining power for workers, reduce unsightly belly fat and reduce foot odor.

The Pewitt Conjured Loot Portion(PCLP) will grant each American citizen with all blood ancestry born in the USA before 1924 or colonial America ten thousand dollars a month — tax free. The privately-controlled Federal Reserve Bank shall conjure up the cash and dole it out like water.

The Pewitt Pledge to defuse the student loan debt bomb is simple: complete extinguishment of all existing student loan debt and the repayment of all student loan debt ever paid plus 6 percent interest accrued for each year the debt was paid. That’s my answer for the Kraut looking guy in Iowa who gave Warren such grief over not getting anything out of her student loan debt bomb plan.

The Pewitt campaign pledges to immediately remove any elements of the JEW/WASP ruling class of the American Empire from any type of control or involvement in the corporate mass media. The owners and controllers of the NY Times and Wall Street Journal and Comcast and Viacom and Disney and all the others shall be financially liquidated and then forcibly removed from the USA.

None but patriotic Americans in charge of the corporate mass media!

I pledge to outlaw all billionaires — just like Ronald Reagan outlawed the Soviet Union — but I will not harm the billionaires in any way, unlike Reagan, who declared his intention to begin bombing the Soviet Union in five minutes. At least Reagan understood the difference between the USSR and Russia and the Soviets from the Russians.

The US military shall increase in size by 20 or 30 million and the command structure shall be similar to the old style state militia system whereby the military leaders were selected and elected by the troops.

No more treasonous globalizer officer scum destroying the US military!

The White Core America political party will be in charge of 10 million White men — and some ladies in non-combat roles — who will enforce and implement the commands of White Core America.

    VOTE FOR CHARLES PEWITT

  36. Trump will get electorally crushed on November 3, and whether or not the mail-in ballots are crummy crooked crap or not, Trump’s defeat will signal the complete and utter destruction of the treasonous evil globalizer Republican Party.

To clarify for the media, I identify as a WHITE CORE AMERICAN, and not as a so-called “white nationalist” as described by Michael Tracy in 2015. Tracy has since gone on to sell out like a sonofabitch to Gigot and Henninger, the two baby boomer globalizer corporate propaganda whore dolts who run the editorial pages of the rancid Murdoch-controlled Wall Street Journal.

Just kidding Michael Tracy a bit for his getting published by WSJ!

//AE’s observations are very astute. I think that both sides – in an effort to avoid social unrest and civil war – need to start getting the public used to the idea that 2020 election results won’t be available on election night. That should be happening right now//

The preliminary skirmishes to Civil War II have already started, but Nov 4th the big guns will start firing. It’s not a stretch to see both sides riot, first the antifa/dems, when Trump wins that night, then the patriots when that victory is stolen with mail in ballots hand delivered by the postal workers union members that endorsed Biden. (no conflict of interest there, eh?)

Most of us have had it up to here with all this garbage this year already, steal the election and it goes up big time.

Best to be prepared, mostly by not living near a large blue city.

A document seal is like a coat of arms. the paper is bent over the the seal, raising the image and typesetting on the paper. There is no ink. You would need access to the seal, or a counterfeit seal in order produce more ballots. If every county did that for electoral college votes, it would be virtually impossible to rig, unless it was done internally.

Does Gresham’s Law apply to votes as well as to money?

I realise that you were asking rhetorically – but of course it does.

The entire system of ‘representative democracy’ is a debased version of direct democracy, and it has driven the latter system out of existence everywhere.

And that’s to say nothing of extending the franchise to people who are cognitively unequipped to participate in long-horizon decisions in the presence of uncertainty (including uncertainty about whether the candidate intends to, or can, keep their promises).

It’s straightforward: the vast majority of the electorate does not have the wherewithal to determine the difference between shit and a hot rock – and can therefore not discriminate between the ‘set menu’ policy offerings from the competing parties.

The result: the parties spend hundreds of millions of dollars producing content that encourages stupid people to base their decision on shit that doesn’t matter.

It is morally wrong to selectively exclude any populaion subgroup from the electoral process, and then force them to fund the resulting state (and/or abide by its laws).

Since the bottom 80% of the household income distribution do not fund the state anyhow (they get more in government services than they pay in taxes), they could be disenfranchised without moral qualm – except for the fact that they are required to obey laws, including those that are opbjectively stupid and utterly indefensible.

This is one of the gigantic holes in the theory of representative democracy, and is part of the reason why democratic selection of political officeholders always degenerates into something indistinguishable from reality TV or tampon commercials.

For those unwilling to take things to logical conclusions (which requires abandoning he state entirely), the only mechanism that has the remotest chance of long-term stability is Sortition (a.k.a. ‘Randomocracy’), whereby political offices are filled by random selection.

A legislature made up of randomly-selected adults will have a bunch of bad characteristics – not least of which is that it will have average intelligence. However that’s more-than-compensated by the fact that such a body would also have average levels of corruption, sociopathy and megalomania – as opposed to the extraordinarily high levels of those things exhibited by every parliamentary body on the face of the globe.

One of the main things that Randomocracy would achieve would be the death of political party machine (parties ration candidature; no candidature means no parties); no parties means no focal point for political influence-buying.

inb4 “politicians are domain experts” – horse-shit. They vote as they’re told to by the party, with a few exceptions permitted to show that politics has ‘mavericks’.

Like journalists, they generally know fuck-all about the subject matter at hand – they they mostly know about how to display loyalty to the party machine, and how to raise money for that machine. They are renowned for not reading bills, and anyone who has ever interacted with these fuckwits in any advisory capacity knows that they’re not very bright.

I was unaware that direct democracy was practiced everywhere until the invention of representation. Could you expand a bit on this? Provide examples of direct democracy that was overcome by representation? Ancient Rome, Ancient Egypt, Ancient China…are these examples? Or in the 19th century the Zulu nation, is that an example? 15th century Tenochticlan, is that an example? Trying to help you out, here, but it’s tough.

And that’s to say nothing of extending the franchise to people who are cognitively unequipped to participate in long-horizon decisions in the presence of uncertainty (including uncertainty about whether the candidate intends to, or can, keep their promises).

But doesn’t direct democracy in which every person participates automatically extend the franchise to people who are cognitively unequipped to participate in long-horizon decisions in the presence of uncertainty?

It’s straightforward: the vast majority of the electorate does not have the wherewithal to determine the difference between shit and a hot rock – and can therefore not discriminate between the ‘set menu’ policy offerings from the competing parties.

Therefore under your own terms, direct democracy cannot succeed. Do you often refute your own position so quickly?

Where has this system ever been tried?

I believe that some offices in the ancient Athenian republic were filled by lot, but not all of them.

Of course all of this is pure theoretical hot air at this point. My rhetorical question had less to do with qualified vs. unqualified voters, and more to do with fake voters.

Writing from a US perspective, in my state the 2018 election was very instructive. Some precincts returned a whole pile of provisional ballots such that if an office wasn’t decided on election night, over the next few days in every case the D’s won when enough “late returns” had arrived. Every single “not settled yet” office right down to county commissioner turned out that way.

The sheer brazenness of the corruption is likely to provoke a lot of anger on the Deplorable side, and the Privileged SJW side is perpetually angry, so…not looking forward to November.

And at every juncture along the way since he started the job, Trump has shown himself to immediately take the easiest route presented to him. That doesn’t read like coup-plotter material.

I mean, it’s possible that they don’t. And I certainly don’t buy the notion of a Deep State plot, considering how much Trump’s tenure in office has been mostly more of the same for arms contractors and forever war lobbyists. But the media doth project themselves on others too much, methinks. And TBH, it is hard to avoid the feeling that the pseudo-religious “Resistance” would be extremely angry and disappointed if Trump concedes defeat like a normal politician rather than clinging to power and being dragged to jail by a black transgender CIA agent in the wake of a mass transformation away from an inherently white supremacist state and society.

Voting by mail was a favourite method of fraud during the Blair years in the UK. Generally an ethnic thing involving Pakistani/Bangladeshi votes. Mostly Labour, although all parties seem to have indulged to some extent.

No big tradition of fraud in pre-diverse UK except in Republican parts of Ulster – “vote early, vote often”.

    https://ukcommentators.blogspot.com/search/label/vote%20fraud

The pitched battle between Labour and People’s Justice Party supporters was ignited by the appearance of a postman with a bag.

“Some people tried to get the votes off him and were pinching them out of letterboxes – then all hell broke loose,” said an eyewitness.

“People were rushing out of their homes to join in the fight. Thugs and gangsters are targeting the postmen every day. Everything is getting out of control.”

Police today called for calm in the Bordesley Green ward which has chalked up a city record with the highest number of postal votes ever recorded – 8,500 out of a voting population of around 18,000.

  57. I guess it depends on the actual election night results for mail in voter fraud to work.

First, if the people that actually go in person to vote overwhelmingly vote for POTUS, those votes would have to be suppressed somehow.

Second, they are relying on people voting by mail being largely democratic – which depending on where you are in the USA, may or may not be true.

Third – the hope more young people vote and vote Democrat; big this demographic has proven to be stubbornly astonishing inept at voting. They going to be any less lazy to send a piece of mail in vs. voting in person when they habitual do everything from their smartphone?

No, their real plan is to delay to result as long as possible in the hopes they can stage some sort of coup in the meantime.

Yes, this is the most plausible forecast.

There are three states that Trump won in 2016 by less than 1%: Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Trump’s 2016 win was by 34 Electoral votes. Those three states—teetering on a knife edge—have 46 Electoral votes. Michigan and Pennsylvania alone have 36. In other words, those two states tipped the entire election, and those two states turned on a mere 55,430 votes.

Manufacturing 56,000 votes, or as Democrats call it, “Tuesday afternoon”, is child’s play when given several weeks and the immense fog of mass mail-in voting. The Dems will manufacture whatever votes they need to claim victory. They will not back down. The only peaceful way out will be a Trump concession. So the the question is, will he concede?

    • Replies: @A123
  59. @dfordoom

I’m not saying that fraud by either side is impossible. All I’m saying is that even if there isn’t fraud the losing side will respond as if there was fraud. In fact in their present states of mind both sides probably genuinely believe that the other is going to commit electoral fraud.

Effective voting fraud requires 1) large enough numbers to matter, aka cities, 2) an organized political machine, aka in cities, and 3) the ability to lock the other side out of scrutinizing the process, for example by ethnic intimidation, aka urban ethnic neighborhoods. One party happens to controls virtually all such locations.

The Democrats may say that “the Republicans are going to cheat”, but they know perfectly well that only they have the infrastructure for large scale fraud. Accusing Republicans is just meant to muddy the issue and make normies content themselves with “fraud on both sides” copes.

What is happening now is that the covers are being removed and the horrible truth is being revealed.

My best guess is that Trump will be the winner on Election Day, the proceeding controversy, lawsuits, and riots will make 2000 Hanging Chad escapade, for those of us old enough to remember, will seem like a polite dinner party disagreement between long time friends. The feds will start cracking down on the insurrections, more decrees from governors to stay home & indoors to stay safe, more jobs will disappear meaning more government assistance , etc, and things will continue to get worse and worse every year.

In short, as VoxDay has been saying for a while now, by about 203o or so the USA will no long exist, complete with name change, will will be fully socialist right on schedule

    Well done.

My far-future prediction is that as morally and financially bankrupt democracies become unable to maintain a stable civil order, this function will be acquired by commercial enterprises. The veneer of the State will be maintained for as long as it’s useful. Singapore and the Arab peninsular monarchies are well along the way to this model. Bhutan is maintained as a garden for the Bhutanese; the monarch could fund the whole public commons with high-end tourism if he wished. So could Nepal. These enterprises will provide security, uniform regulations, dispute resolution, and arrange sojourners’ rights. Powerful alliances will be formed with strategic marriage and inheritance. Religion is a useful social tie so many will take on a credal character. Over time, leadership (and membership) in these institutions will become hereditary.

Neo-feudalism, that is, anarcho-capitalism, and it will arrive whether the statists much less the “anarcho-capitalists” themselves want it or not.

Civil War II will begin in earnest after this “Election”.

After that, all the impossibles will become probable and all the theories will prove to be RUBBISH.

A guess: he’s profoundly incompetent and unprepared.

The GOP overall is not as inclined or accustomed to pursuing what they want via the courts.

In short, as VoxDay has been saying for a while now, by about 203o or so the USA will no long exist, complete with name change, will will be fully socialist right on schedule

I’m more and more convinced that most people on the far right do not have the remotest idea what terms like socialist and communist actually mean.

What we’re heading for is not socialism but a new kind of fascism, with the corporate sector firmly in charge. We’re not heading for the dictatorship of the proletariat, we’re heading for the dictatorship of the haut bourgeoisie. Whatever we end up with it sure as hell is not going to be anything that even vaguely resembles socialism.

To the far right the word socialist means “a bad person that I don’t like.”

Thanks to the Democrats, I have no way of knowing if a Biden victory is legitimate or not, but I do know they have pushed all the measures that make fraud more likely. So I am motivated to treat a Biden victory as illegitimate.

Of course you are. Just as Democrats are motivated to treat a Trump victory as illegitimate.

The most likely result may be not actual fraud but large numbers of ambiguous votes. Mail-in votes in which the voter has not dotted all the i’s and crossed all the t’s. In which case the arguments will come down to whether the voter’s intentions are clear or not. Both sides will try to disallow votes for the other side based on technicalities, and allow votes for their own side based on technicalities.

I’ve been an election scrutineer. That’s what it comes down to – deciding whether a vote is valid even if it’s technically slightly dubious. That’s trickier to deal with than obvious fraud.

  85. Anonymous[228] • Disclaimer says:

~50% of Trump’s prominent original 2015 supporters have since condemned him. Some will vote for him reluctantly, some will not vote, a few will even vote for Biden. So no, his remaining supporters won’t have any excuse for being shocked when he loses. They’ve heard a steady stream of warnings for years.

    Drumpf

will carry the same states he carried in 2016, minus

    Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania. Adios,

A very smart reading of the situation, congratulations for it. This US election will be a refresher of “Heads I win, tails you lose”. The democrats are not going to accept a Trump win, no way. If Trump wins the election, the street, with the blessings of the deep state, the media, and the noodle-heads in the academic world, will take him out. Portland riots? Wait till you see some real big ones, the mother of all riots, if Trump wins.

Absolutely correct. Socialism and communism are very specific terms with specific meaning. But the meaning has been completely lost in the US. Whatever BLM/Antifa/the democrats might represent, socialists they are not. There are plenty of simple words out there that can accurately capture what these people represent, so let us not use words whose meaning we are not clear about. How about sticking to thugs, hooligans, entitled brats, libtards, and such?

Our institutions are failing. Is it too late to restore funding for the Vestal Virgins?

    OT

    re Vestal Virgins:

I suspect I’m one of very few Americans who has carefully followed the still-unfolding tragedy of the disappearance of 18-year old Amish woman Linda Stoltzfoos of Lancaster, PA.

IMO, Linda Stoltzfoos as representative of the Amish – Mennonite communities is the closest USA comes to a Vestal Virgin.

Justo Smoker was seen with Ms Stoltzfoos in his car on June 21, 2020, has been taken into custody and charged with kidnapping; items of her underwear were found in a nearby woods, but no further trace of Linda, alive or dead, has been found.

What happens to a community when the Vestal fires are no longer tended because their guardians have been spirited away?

Iffen, do you know the stories of Rome’s Vestal Virgins? My recollections are hazy —

Is it too late to stop the takeover of the new religion? If we deny funding to the Jacob Blakes and restore funding to the Thomas Jeffersons can we save our civilization? Is it too late? Was it too late for Rome at that time?

    My recollections are hazy —

Jew hating will do that to you. You’ll have to learn to live with it.

Is it conceivable that one might have a rational cause to dislike Jews—a cause based in typical Jewish behavior?

Let me partly accept @dfordoom’s correction: could there be a rational cause based in typical élite Jewish behavior?

Barbara Tuchman, a Jewess, an historian and an excellent English-language writer whose books I admire and enjoy, reports:

[W]atched tolerantly by police, Russian citizens of Kishinev during the Passover of 1903 burst into a frenzy of violence against the eternal scapegoat, killing and beating, burning and plundering homes and shops, desecrating synagogues, tearing the sacred Torah from the arms of a white-bearded rabbi whose horror at seeing it defiled by Gentiles was shortened by this death under their clubs and boots. [The Proud Tower, chapter 2. Macmillan, 1966.]

How do you interpret eloquent sentiments like these? Are you inclined to credit Tuchman’s typically Jewish framing of the event? If so, why?

In the book, having insinuated the point she wishes to insinuate, Tuchman smoothly changes the subject. One does not question Tuchman’s sincerity (some might; I don’t), but still, her quoted passage is a literary hit-and-run.

Constrast bestselling Gentile author David Irving, nearly as eloquent, who in England was driven into penury by lawfare, and in Austria was jailed, for daring to dispute sentiments like Tuchman’s.

No, some of us actually have a reason to dislike Jews.

I already splained this to you. For example, I don’t like the idea of open borders whether advocated by Jews or others. It’s the political views and positions that I don’t like. As to the religious bias, I probably feel toward Jews the same way that I feel toward Mormons. I adhere to the ideal of religious freedom (although Muslims test that faith) and accept the problems that come with it whether those problems come from Jews, Mormons, Moonies, Jehovah’s Witnesses, etc., and yes, even my peeps, Evangelical Fundamentalists.

Thanks for reminding me of Tuchman. I haven’t read anything by her since I read The Distant Mirror. I think that I will put The Proud Tower in my reading queue.

who in England was driven into penury by lawfare

See, this is exactly what I’m talking about. Jew hating messes up your brain, your thinking. Irving was trying to silence his critics (because the UK has their libel law ass-backwards). He brought it upon himself.

I appreciate the colloquy. It is unclear to me whether you are Jewish but, if you are, you remind me of the reasonable, even kind Jews of my own personal acquaintance. I always look forward to reading your insightful commentary here at The Unz Review.

When it comes to the specific topic you and I have been discussing, persons can disagree. My opinion regarding Jews may change when élite Jews stop psychoanalyzing and persecuting Gentiles that question the received understanding of the Holocaust, and when they loosen their death-grip on American media, but probably not until then.

Meanwhile, I am glad to have reminded you of Tuchman. As earlier noted, I like Shirer just as you do. Whatever else might be the case, you and I would seem to have compatible tastes in literature.

    Have you any book recommendations?

  94. @iffen

    Wow.

How does a perception of the Amish – Mennonites, represented by Linda Stoltzfoos, as guardians of the Vestal fire morph into “Jew hatred?”

I did not write anything like that in my comment.

Maybe “Jew hatred,” apposite to beauty, is in the eye of the beholder?

I agree, and I am afraid of it, and I wish it would never happen. But I am not deterred, nor will my fellow americans be deterred when pushed against the wall. They will leave us no choice but to fight and win complete victory where none of the aggressors is allowed to survive no matter where they go.

Wait till the civilization-destroying mob meets tens of millions of justifiably angry and frightened suburban people— white, asian, and hispanic alike — defending their own homes, their own children, their own streets, with firearms, with nowhere left to run. The message to BLM, antifa, looters and rioters and aggressors of any background, should be: fucking try it, we will do to you what our supposed protectors the pigs will not (then the rulers and their bankster, corporate, media, and “academic” allies should be dealt with forcibly next — in accordance with the country’s laws, which should be promptly changed to reflect common sense and our rights and interests as against such manipulators and predators and thieves).

The message to the African savages should be: your time on this continent is over, forever. In other words, we are sick of your shit, we will no longer live in fear, and time for talking (really, us being threatened or mocked or lectured at) is done.

People who invade towns, neighborhoods or homes should be given no quarter. Shoot them dead if they try to flee. Follow them to their camps, their homes, their campuses, wherever they go, and exterminate them and anyone who aids them. Find THEIR families, burn THEIR neighborhoods and colleges and tv and movie studios down, and ensure that all the generations of scum come to an end. Our children and their children will be safe and live in peace, no matter what it takes.

No letting them regroup and try to terrorize, torture, kill the rest of us the next day or the next month. Just shot dead by the hundreds in every town where they try to invade, then strung up. Time for all good nonAfrican people to send some conclusive defensive and retaliatory force back at the aggressors (both the dumb footsoldiers and their manipulators).

I urge the decent Americans to be “mostly peaceful”, of course — especially after nobody is left who will dare come near our families and our homes with ill intent.

There’s a big stigma among Republicans to vote by mail. That may be electorally foolish on the GOP’s part, but it probably precludes Republicans gaining ground on mail in votes anywhere.
