The sample size, at 446, is modest, but there is a noticeable generational divide in expressed animosity towards Russia among American Jews. While just 21.1% of those over the age of 40 express a favorable opinion of the country, 35.3% of Jews under 40 years of age do.

More evidence younger Jews are less leftist than their elders tend to be.

  1. “More evidence younger Jews are less loony than their elders tend to be.”

    Must be the shiksa admixture.

  2. Not enough. Young diaspora American Jews are still too looney on the whole.

  3. I am a Jew over 40 (although I would probably classify myself as non-religious to a pollster) and I have a positive opinion of Russia. I see them as the good guys on the world stage right now.

So this proves that 65% of younger jews are anti white, so now one should become pro jew...

This is not some kind of change through the generations, they will become more anti white with age.

As far as I'm concerned, being less religious as a "Jew" is not necessarily a bad thing.

The fundamental problem with Jews is the religion. Plain and simple.

Of course, I'm a Christian, who believes the basis of Western Civilization is the Logos made flesh. So obviously I reject both Jewish dominance, for religious reasons, and purely secular forms of "white nationalism."

I also have always thought there is a kind of distinction between, so to speak, the "Big Jews" and the "Little Jews." The Coen Brothers, two great artists, capture this distinction in their movie A Serious Man. The main character, Larry Gopnik, is a normal guy and a "Little Jew." He spends the entire movie getting screwed over by more powerful "Big Jews." Those guys, especially the rabbi characters, are, in my view, a cinematic and real-life stand-in for the likes of the high priest Caiaphas. They don't pretend to have any real answers for Larry, other than to accept the demands of more powerful Jews, like the jerk who's banging his wife. And, at the end, all the characters in the movie - both Big Jews and Little Jews - are about to be destroyed by a swirling vortex in the form of a Midwest tornado. I can't say what the Coen Brothers meant to say with that tornado, but it could either be interpreted as a mere meteorological chance happening, or as the symbolic result of the wickedness of the Jewish temple men. (Or both!)

As for these Big Jews, Caiaphas and others like him KNEW that Jesus was not lying - they knew that he fulfilled the prophecies, because they knew those prophecies like the back of their hands, and here was this guy - aww shucks - actually fulfilling them. But he challenged their power, and they didn't have an answer in their minds to satisfy the question of keeping their immense power while recognizing this man as the Messiah. So they had him killed, with the help of the quasi-post-modern ("Quid est veritas?") European, Pontius Pilate. And then, in Babylon a few centuries later, these same Caiaphas types began the process of transitioning from Judaism of the Torah to Judaism of the Talmud.

This, the above, is a lay effort at describing the standard Christian view of the organized Jewish religion before the damage of World War Two convinced mainstream Christians to be quiet. Catholics in Germany before the war believed that Jews should be converted to Catholicism, not destroyed by machinery and guns. But the left has successfully conflated Christian missions with "Nazism."

I would like to see Unz.com include a traditionalist Catholic political thinker/blogger of some kind, to share that perspective.

In any case, whatever your background may be, Mr. Fink, I'm glad you're not a delusional Russia-hater. I hope you have a nice day!

  6. Don’t people become more ethnocentric with age? Disentangling cohort from time effects is notoriously hard.

  7. Very similar split for White Protestants in the same poll:

View of Russia as a country

    White Protestants, 18-29 (when polled) (b.1988 to b.2000) (n=352)
    35% Favorable (+/- 5%)

    White Protestants, 30-39 (when polled) (b.1977 to b.1987) (n=357)
    29% Favorable (+/- 5%)

    White Protestants, 40-49 (when polled) (b.1967 to b.1976) (n=444)
    29% Favorable (+/- 4.5%)

    White Protestants, 50-59 (when polled) (b.1957 to b.1966) (n=506)
    20% Favorable (+/- 4%)

White Protestants, 60+ (when polled) (born before 1957) (n=698)
    17% Favorable (+/- 3%)

Dividing line appears to be around about b.1970; Not a surprise, given Cold War legacy.

    Thanks.

That undercuts the idea of greater ethnocentrism with age as an explanation for the age trend among Jews.
  8. Well, I’m a white protestant around 50y/o and my impression of Russia has been improving for most of my life. Right now I’m especially grateful for RT, which is more balanced, level-headed, and trustworthy than any major American news outlet I can think of.

The fact that the U.S. Establishment (including both major political parties) is virulently anti-Russia is just one more reason to be friendly toward Russia.

  9. Perhaps they haven’t learned as much as their highly learned elders. Yet.
