  1. I’ll tell y’all what – that chick is very pretty. Till this tweet I’d never seen her on TV or any video before, only the little 9 y/o girl doing the hilarious imitation of her. She’s not used to anyone using straight-up common-sense logic right in her face though. It’d be much better for her and everyone else if she were back at the bar in Brooklyn or wherever, serving drinks, flirting, and showing her cleavage.

You really ought to know your place in life. The US Congress is not it for this broad. Great job by the ex-ICE guy! I wish President Trump was smart enough to use this kind of logic on the fly.

Its important that Congress should not be a genrontocracy.

And I respect someone that actually ran for office against a 20 year incumbent.

Cenk Uygur set up an institution that delivered results.

None, absolutely, none of our people from S. Bannon to M. Cernovich or R. Spencer did anything like this.

I'd say AOC's looks are average at best, but make-up can do wonders. I wouldn't be surprised if her longer term plan is to get into the movies - she's already a very good actress, which is why she was chosen for the part she's now playing.

I don't see AOC as a career pol like senile Speaker Pelosi. Now there's a woman with REAL power who is also a REAL danger to the Republic. AOC is a cute distraction and a fleeting snowflake.
  2. Off the script she doesn’t do so well.

But she stuck to the talking point of “seeking asylum is legal”; and that’s all it takes to satisfy the minimal levels of ritual purity demanded by the moderate voter.

More interesting is the Dem leadership trashing her Chief of Staff.

It's not particularly surprising to me. As I've noted before, AOC is Trump's best chance at reelection, and the Democrat leadership surely knows as much. She is unpopular among huge swaths of the population over 40 (the people who actually vote, iow), including many Democrats and independents, and she energizes Republicans--including Republicans who don't care much for Trump--in a way similar to the way Trump energizes Democrats.

and promptly got told the what-for, as seeking asylum by crashing the border is absolutely NOT legal.

This may actually be Trump's best chance at reelection:

If his campaign doesn't use this footage, he doesn't deserve a second term.

The drowned child, the putative "women and children" turning out to overwhelmingly be young men of fighting age--this is the American version of Europe's 2015 migrant invasion.

I don't want some dippy-chick bartender in there any more than I want to see the place full of old pharts. Steve Bannon and Steven Miller could probably do a great job, as they have a lot of intelligence without the Beltway baggage.

Yeah, sure, Cenk Uygur, right, he's just another lawyer bullshitter. He started out as a conservative only because Reagan was in office, and he wanted to go places. Then he slid into progressivism as the "times changed". Along the way he felt the need to promote the denial of the genocide of Armenians by the Turks, because, just coincidentally, I'm sure, his is a Turk. Like American should really have to give a shit about this either way. What does it say about a guy that his former position on MSNBC was filled by Al Sharpton? Nothing good. Screw that guy.
    , @Pericles
Indeed, though it's a bit easier to ascend when you're not being continuously attacked, deplatformed and demonetized by the people in power. Perhaps (gasp) you even get helped by them. Funny that a bartender could just run a campaign like that.

Regarding deplatforming, compare TRS with their progressive copycats, The Young Turks (speaking of Cenk Uyghur). TRS appears to mostly have to handle payments through a postbox. Meanwhile, The Young Turks have now moved beyond cashing in on Patreon:

The Young Turks, one of the longest-running progressive digital video outlets, announced a major round of funding on Tuesday.
The firms 3L Capital, Greycroft, E.ventures, and WndrCo, which is led by the business executive and Democratic Party kingmaker Jeffrey Katzenberg, will invest $20 million in the progressive media company, which for a decade has live-streamed hours of video content with a progressive perspective.

Right-wing alternatives to Patreon have on the other hand been summarily and unapologetically destroyed by e.g., Mastercard.

She didn't actually run. She didn't have to. The fix was in from the beginning. Winning a democrat party primary is not the result of running a campaign or of having any particular set of ideas, it's decided before the posters are printed.

Look at the way that she was treated as the representative of that district before the general election. I'm surprised she didn't just go to DC and take over the office as soon as the primary was over. The media treated her as though she had.

  12. what percentage of the white vote does trump neeed to win in 2020 ? , my guess would be at least 60 ,

    • Replies: @Audacious Epigone
My guess is at a bare minimum it will have to be 58% (the national exit poll put his share at 57% in 2016).

  14. “…that chick is very pretty…”

This is why she is getting more attention than deserved from the media. It’s just ridiculous to pay this much attention to a former bartender who got her position thru fraud as she didn’t even live in the district where she ran for election…she moved there later after she won.

But the Democrats deserve her so I say let the show continue…

A bunch of progressives decided to get their bartender elected. Sorta like progressives got talent.
