The Alarmist:

The bigger question is why Trump is still on Twitter at all.

One of the best parting gifts the president could give the social media giant would be moving his press release operation to another platform during his lame duck session. Tens of millions of supporters and haters alike would follow him. The lazy and incurious boot-lickers and ring-kissers in the media would have to follow, too, since so much of their ‘reporting’ involves quoting his tweets and the responses they generate. It’s probable Twitter will deplatform him after he’s out of office anyway. Better to go out on his own terms.

Dan asserts the aegis against Covid is cheap, simple, and accessible:

Particularly depressing is that the one obvious and safe almost-cure, humidification in winter, is hardly discussed. This virus is sharply seasonal, we are now seeing, and humidity is THE differential variable. Temperatures indoors are constant year-round but indoor humidity swings dramatically.

There is a lot more at the link for those who are interested. It has seemed obvious to this blogger for months that the cure has been far worse than the disease, so anything that loosens the anarcho-tyrannical grip of the lockdown state gets an enthusiastic endorsement from me.

  1. during his lame duck session

There you go making assumptions again…

    AE,

I just want to seed an idea with you.
    White conservative “resistance” is possible.

If the election is stolen (Trump wins solidly, but Dems find an unreal number of mail ballots while antifa/BLM gridlock the country looting, beating, and burning), white men should stop joining any braches of the United States Military. Let the elites draft antifa to fight its wars. Opt out.

    Pass the word.

Irrespective of the ultimate outcome, that's an idea I emphatically endorse. There is no reason to be cannon fodder for an empire that hates you. Become a sheriff deputy or something else on the local level if martial prowess and competency is something that interests you.

  3. I also would have agreed, if it were about Big Bird. (Or, more properly, PBS, as he is now on HBO.)

  4. Weighing costs versus benefits and looking for lower cost alternatives to lockdowns should be made a priority. Increasing humidity in buildings seems sensible. As another example, seventy percent of Covid patients admitted to hospitals were found in a recent study to be deficient in vitamin D. Beside the lower humidity in winter, vitamin D drops in the winter since the major source is people being outside in the Sun and people don’t go outside in the winter. A vitamin D supplement is inexpensive and is affordable to almost everyone.

Also found to help are other inexpensive supplements like zinc. HCQ has been found to be more effective when taken with zinc and some of the studies where it was found to be ineffective didn’t include zinc. HCQ may work by increasing the uptake of zinc into the body. Green tea also has the same effect of increasing zinc uptake and may be one reason Asian countries that consume a lot of green tea have lower rates of Covid. Quercetin is another substance that increases zinc uptake and that is available as a supplement also. HCQ has also been combined with the antibacterial Azithromycin in some studies and there are readily available natural antibacterial substances like oregano oil available.

Taking a combination of all these may help with prevention and decrease the severity of the disease if you get it and combined with the treatments available from doctors and hospitals may decrease the numbers of deaths.

Humidity helps. As you point out, the real deficit is Vitamin D. Look at a graph of heart attacks by month and you'll see a spike near Christmas, also the time in the year when natural Vitamin D is lowest.

How can the Eli Lilly CEO skim millions from this solution? Ah, there's the problem.

    @Mark G.

Spot on Mark G, spot on.

The vitamin D thing is absolutely laughable. I raised my kids in Seattle and had them on vitamin D. (It's gray and dreary in the winter and not a lot of sun--and you're inside.)

Blacks are dying of this thing at increased rates in part because of weight and general health issues, but also because they are vitamin D deficient. They are in the wrong climate for their evolutionary background. Vitamin D's benefit is understood and it is dirt cheap. What's the Democrats' solution ... lock 'em inside, then shout "racism!" when they are dying.

BTW, another thing Trump should have been on top of. I don't expect him to know this, but where the hell is his based medical advisor? Would have been perfect outreach for Trump.

And yeah, i've boosted my zinc--well known anti-viral--uptake and am taking quercetin as my zinc ionophore. Again, cheap and straightforward. (I don't believe i've had the bug, but there's a small chance i may have been exposed and it just bounced off.) Trump really need a doc on his team who could do something beyond parroting medical conventional "wisdom". Someone with some perspective and political sense.

  5. If only the government supplied a (free?) social platform for citizens to communicate on, Donald Trump would indeed drag millions of followers over there with him.
Oh, wait, TwitFaceGram is a CIA asset from inception. The State has plenty platforms!!
Ah! But the CIA is not a governmental institution, it works for the Fed, which is a private corporation, so the government can/must/should still create a public platform…
    Someone should inform The Don.

  7. The problem is that Trump then wouldn’t be on Twitter, so he would be “out of the limelight”. Maybe a slow transition would have been good, in which he used both Twitter and Parler for a while, occasionally sending messages on Parler but not Twitter and with increasing frequency, to get other people to follow him there without totally looking like a fringe American, like Gavin McInnes

Gab has reserved "realDonaldTrump" practically since it started.  Trump should be cross-posting on Gab and Parler at least, to suck traffic away from Twatter.

Even six months ago, it was easy to see that the SARS-COV-2/Covid-19 pandemic was proving to be a far less serious problem than the 1968 Hong Kong Flu pandemic. It’s far less serious than elements of our panicked establishment have declared. https://swprs.org/covid-in-the-usa/. Yet the world’s political leaders keep imposing insanely stupid lock down policies that are destroying economies and inducing unheard of levels of socially corrosive anomie.

I honestly cannot decide whether this reflects a dramatic decline in the intelligence, maturity, courage, and basic competence of our political leadership or a fiendishly clever plot to replace constitutional democracy with a neo-feudal world order ruled by our current establishment and their posterity.

That's giving in to their frame. If Trump's getting that sort of advice he should fire the advisor.

Asked, Trump's rejoinder should be "I don't support tech monopolies. More platforms, more competition, and freedom of speech--that's the American way."

Who cares?  Spread his posts across multiple platforms without regard for how SJWs, Pantifa and Black Lies Matter view them.  Treat them all as equal.  See how Twatter bleeds users and influence as a consequence.

Gab reported a doubling of user accounts in very short period.  The "White supremacist" (Whites daring to stand up for themselves) slur is losing mindshare faster than you'd ever believe.

It's important to remember what a small minority you and I are in. Many natural conservatives are still easily manipulated by racial guilt/shame.

  16. The last time I checked, Trump had had over 80 million Twitter followers, while the last estimate (from July) for the total number of Parler users is 2.8 million. It’s ludicrous to believe he would dump Twitter, Trump will probably die typing a tweet.
