In a recent post on LGBTQ+ identity among those under thirty years old, in going back to look at another figure I realized miscalculated the figure for white women, understating it. I sincerely apologize for the screw up. I’m generally diligent about checking and double-checking but this one fell through the cracks. I’ve updated the post accordingly. I’ve also broken out Jews from non-Jewish whites. Comment there (unless it’s just to give me grief for the mistake–you can do that here or there!).

I think A.E. and the Unz "brand" can handle it, Mr. McKenna. This may be the reason for that either timed or count-based period in which comments don't appear at all, although it may be for an entirely different reason in addition.

About Takimag, I don't think that's why Taki had the comments elimimated. He didn't like what the commenters were writing about. Whether it was pure censorship or more worry about the effects that would come down on his site, I don't know.

I used to try to get through those comments, but a) I don't like having to keep clicking to open up more - hard to see where I am in the big picture and b) The guys on there would argue pretty intelligently but very often about minor off-the-subject historical details that got boring quickly. Sure, the OT arguments happen here, but on there it was just all about who is smarter with more memory of his history reading than the other guy, not about any principles.

What I do know is that, other than having a very pretty front-page, the Takimag site SUCKS.

Whether it is Mr. Taki...'s idea or the webmaster's, it's the only site that serves me that annoying reverse pop-up window, though I have the normal channels blocked. (I don't read the thing, but it's annoying in that "yeah, OK, you won this one - you got your page up".) What's much worse is the scripts that run underneath, using up memory. I clicked on Steve's link to his article but wanted to wait until later to read it. I know for sure this time it was Takimag that came damn close to locking up the browser program with my 20 tabs open.

It's too bad, as I would like to go there to read the 2 to 5 good articles that I like each week. Jim Goad is my favorite (excepting iSteve, of course).

    OK, Takimag rant over!

  5. I wrote the following on the original thread, but I think it’s worth repeating it here.

The errant text has strikethrough to document my mistake for posterity

I have a very high regard for men (and women) who can admit their mistakes readily and make appropriate corrections rather than erasing, obfuscating, or “disappearing” them. It speaks to their candor, intellectual honesty, and perhaps even confidence. That’s the mark of a person I can trust.

    Well done, sir.

    Thank you very much.

Mileage will vary on my commentary and on the utility of the source(s) I'm using, but it is imperative to me that my representation of the primary data is always done with perfect fidelity.

  6. More evidence for my previous hypothesis that feral female dysfunction is being hamsterized as “bi” and “trans”.

  8. I’d have been more impressed by a corrigendum.

  9. Touche. That would be more accurate.
