In a matter of weeks the Establishment went from singing New York governor Andrew Cuomo’s praises to tossing him to the curb. Pale stale males still have tactical uses, but they’re expendable. No position is too ensconced, too high-ranking, to protect them when the decision they’ve outlived their usefulness has been made. Obstacles occupying spots deserved by the more demographically desirable will be removed. Consent will be manufactured.
Democrats have turned on Cuomo:
That his office condemned thousands of geriatrics to death has been an open secret for the better part of a year. The Establishment never cared about that because they never care about things like that. They conjured up an award out of their asses to give to him as a way of showing how little they care about the well being of the dirt people, elderly and otherwise.
No, when it was time to take him out, they weaponized wokeness to do it. Nothing withstands that. Handsy with the ladies, see. Yep, #themtoo. Unconscionable, and for that–not the deaths of scores of grandparents who never even had a chance to say goodbye to their grandchildren–he must be destroyed. Good riddance.
This is a warm up for president Biden’s ousting. To the extent he is aware of it, the message is clear. When it’s time to fall on the sword, you fall on the sword–or they’ll run the sword through you.
Parenthetically, it is worth reflecting on Donald Trump’s tenacity. Whatever one thinks of the man, this campaign against Cuomo is a fraction of a percent of the relentless campaign waged against president Trump from every angle for five years straight. Through that, Trump remained a rock star among Republicans and he retained the support of a sizable minority of independents. Not Cuomo. His support cracked almost immediately.
