Probably quite representative sample of Russian Bioleninists c.2020 – speakers at some “No Borders Festival”, an online event devoted to “dialogue with people who ran away from persecution and war”, people who “suffered from xenophobia, racism, and anti-Semitism”, as well as “bloggers, activists, human rights defenders, and migration experts.”

The “faces” on display are as unsurprising as they are nonetheless instructive. From left to right, and top to bottom:

  • Chick with problem glasses spoke on anti-Semitism, she works at the University of Göttingen.
  • Guy on post-colonial studies and how they help understand Russia.
  • Girl with the very Russian name of Bella Rappaport, “feminist activist” and “gender researcher”, on how “everyday anti-Semitism influences the internal perception of the self”.
  • The smiling hapa (?) girl is a singer.
  • The Chad black DJ “Simba” who is probably banging all the foids here.
  • Girl on the “slave trade in Russia today”.
  • “Independent expert” working in “human rights” on the “structural discrimination against the Roma (gypsies) in Russia”.
  • “Blogger” and “activist” mulatta (?) girl on “a short history of nationalism in Russia in the 21st century”, presumably not from an overly positive perspective.
  • “Playwright” girl on “how to live if you’re a disgrace to the nation”, perhaps the single most topical presentation of the lot.

These people do exist in Russia, but as one might imagine, they are marginals even relative to the mainstream non-systemic liberal opposition, which might hate Russia as much as they do but do so from the perspective of pre-SJW Western liberals and conservatives (which now, ironically, makes them verging on reactionary to many suddenly radicalized Westerners).

And, most likely, they will remain marginals. There is not much of a social pool for these ideas: Apart from the lingering effects of the Soviet Freezer, there is no awning generational gap in wealth between boomers and the young that is a major driver of Bioleninist radicalization in the West. And the government makes their lives uncomfortable. I note that the organization behind the event, refugee_help on Instagram, declares/boasts that it has been declared a “foreign agent NGO” by the Russian Ministry of Justice.

Reminds me of that Russian-Jewish Financier Bruce Rappaport who played a key role in the looting of Russia in the 1990s, working together with highly renowned Western businessmen like Edmond Safra, Bill Browder etc. Could this have played a part in the 1990s perception of Jews in Russia?

Would recommend this book on Rappaport: https://www.amazon.com/All-Clouded-Desire-International-Comparative/dp/0275983307

You know exactly which Russians look like that. Years ago they were more “based” than regular Russian-looking Russians—but now that the pozz gotcha, I assume they’re basically Chinese-Americans and hate you and want you destroyed.

Sorry for your loss. So many QTs wasted.

If Russia can keep such people out of Russia, Russia has a bright future.

If Russia begins a process of bringing people from the West into Russia who themselves know that Cultural Marxism is more evil than Stalinism, and that Nazism is evil, and that America was perverted by being the Anglo-Zionist Empire 2.0, then Russia will fill its population needs the right way.

Far-left are extremely weird people, and can even be physically marginals. However, if you post “faces of Russian nationalists” (or “faces of American nationalists”), they are also freak show.

Political activists are one of the most dysfunctional people, and becomes increasingly weird type of people, as you travel to edges of political mainstream – due to the fact unusual politics is a kind of voluntary social isolation. On such edges, where there is a person who looks normal like Richard Spencer, who has a normal face genetically – it actually surprises the observers. Unconsciously, I was wondering why Richard Spencer does not have a normal career. (Although in photos Spencer looks perhaps a bit “narcissistic personality disorder”).

For the greatest contrast from political activists – if you post portraits of a sports or athletic conference (even of non-athletic sports – “conference of tennis players”, “conference of windsurfers”), then average faces of people will usually be healthy and normal clothes, etc – well adjusted people.

  6. @Conglomerate

Cool, did not know of Bruce Rappaport. Bill Browder, yes. The Larry Summers crowd at Harvard, yes.

The looting of Russia in the 90s absolutely killed the birthrate, increased alcoholism, contributed to a raft of suicides. Russians should get even at some point. I fear that too many of them are clueless about the role of Jews in the 90s or in the various revolutions.

Whenever I meet a Russian in the west I am always careful to ask “are you an actual Russian, or a Jew whose family lived in Russia for a while”?

That’s what I thought about their US equivalents circa 2005. They were sad jokes in college who were going to end up as baristas or permagradstudents>loseradjuncts. Largely what happened, but enough broke through to wage and largely prevail in the woke kulturkampf.

“ no awning generational gap in wealth between boomers and the young that is a major driver of Bioleninist radicalization in the West.”

Fake News whining. If you have a liberal arts degree and you want to live in NYC or SF, yeah you will feel poor compared to the average boomer.

Why does the Russian state (or even mob) allow such on-the-nose provocations from this group? The Chinese would never allow a Japanese agitator to set up workshops in Beijing and lecture on the topic of “understanding Han-ness via the lens of anti-Japanese bigotry” or some similar outrageous effrontery. For Russians to allow Jews to scold them on anti-Semitism after tens of millions of Russians were murdered, enslaved, and imprisoned by the largely Jewish bolsheviks not all that long ago, and then impoverished again during the 90’s by the Jewish oligarchs, is disappointing. Whether or not Rappaport’s kvetching achieves any tangible result isn’t the issue here. There is a point where national and personal dignity itself is sufficient reason to take action against insolence on this level taking place on your own soil.

This is what I am fearing the most about the Slavic world in general. I did have an honest chat with Dimitry several days ago and he was quite positive these people would not make an impact on Russian politics and that the country would take a Visegrad turn. Which is good news. The only problem is Visegrad is now trying to promote legal immigration from third world countries in order to facilitate their labour shortages…

After Putin, give it time and you might end up with these idiots influencing the mainstream, saying the country needs to open up to immigration because of the low birth rates and we need more taxes. Also wouldn’t gay marriage be a lovely thing too? People may just accept that, particularly a future government that has decided to fully embrace a capitalistic model.

I don’t know about you guys but I honestly do not feel as optimistic for Eastern Europe and Russia as I once did. I think after Putin we are going to see the country push in a huge democratic direction and that means all sorts of craziness is bound to happen.

To be honest, I don’t think any major changes will come from the Putin era of leadership and the current individuals you mention will probably stick with the status quo for the foreseeable future. I’m looking further down the pipeline at the next generation of leadership, particularly Russia’s millennials. From my observation, they aren’t woke but they do remind me of Britain’s boomer generation, minus the glorious wealth. More individualistic, concerned with making money.

To be honest, the only thing saving Russia at this moment with this generation is how the West is declining. But if it wasn’t for a Western decline, I bet they’d be more than happy to jump on board the Globo Express train.

Well, old time dirty and wasteful steel and coal Leninism won half of the world land area and one third of the world’s population, before it went bust.

Will new green, renewable, sustainable, organic, Earth friendly bio-Leninism be even more succesful?

Putting old product in shiny green package, calling it bioproduct and selling it in upscale organic stores for five times the price is the guaranteed way to success.

    • Replies: @Daniel Chieh
  27. @another anon

I do think its worth discussing this further – liberalism does work in some ways very well, and its successes can be evidenced in its victories, as seen. It should primarily be seen as a psychological vector(as was old-style communism) and it is not only very popular but it is very “trad” in a way that as Hierarchy in the Forest(Boehm) explores, occurs even in primate groups where a number of weaker and less capable apes cooperate against more successful apes.

Bioleninism posits that the individual failures of its participates creates a strong need to collaborate with other less fit individuals, and thus actually creates a strong loyalty. Its easy to mock this, but it really is a powerful force and indeed, any force for genuine collaboration and loyalty is powerful. And sure, it is easy to posit nefarious entities like Soros and conspiracies(which often do exist) but that somewhat misses the point: the ability to setup such a long march through institutions shows some genuine organizational capability which the right largely isn’t able to(and no, blaming the leftist agents for disruption has only limited meaningfulness).

Now whether it truly “works” or leads to a better outcome, that’s a different story.
And as you might have discovered, in the long run it’ll almost certainly fail; success in taking control isn’t the same thing as success in maintain a society, any more than bacterial spread in your fridge is very good at ruining the cleanliness of your fridge but it certainly neither improves the situation in your fridge nor ultimately for itself. This is, again, pretty trad: overrunning an ecosystem and leading to suicidal crash is the norm, especially in a novel environment, and its hard to argue that our technologically augmented world of ridiculous excess is anything but novel.

This doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t try to struggle against it(its good to clean your fridge) or that trying to conserve is a bad thing(your body practices homostasis despite its essential futility), but it is quite worthwhile to acknowledge the successful practices of leftist and liberal organizations and mimic it where possible.

Well, political/religious groups that are considered atypical, are slightly cultic, and also allow for expression of antisocial emotions, attracts a different mixture of unusual people, who can be feeling at least slightly marginalized for different reasons.

But if look at for example the type “nationalist intellectual”, and what is demographic origin.

Look in old school photos and photos class trips, when everyone is the same age. Maybe there were some hidden psychos and future criminals in your school, but majority people seemed normal and most were even athletic at that age.

But at school, there were usually one or two “eccentrics”, that cannot kick a football – they like to read books, but are not intelligent or cultural enough for people to notice or admire them. And this is the category that from which originates such:

Navalny is not leftist though at all. He was a kind moderate nationalist, although mainly he is just obsessed with social climbing and money (which is not so bad, as it is not so secret raison d’être for a lot of the politics). He”adjusted” his moderate nationalist views to what was remaining possibility for a career.

West declining does make a very large difference though. There was another commenter here who, some time back, suggested that as America’s “democracy” degrades into a downward spiral of racial conflict, the rest of the world will recoil from electoral democracy as a system. Given the speed with which this decline has taken place, it is very likely that Russians will increasingly question their seemingly well-ingrained assumption that everything is better in the land of the free.

They rose to power in the West on the back of the academic system, where they could not be dismissed due to tenure. After consolidating power within academic departments, they had an interlocking system to prevent conservatives from being admitted or hired. So the Right largely left academia, and legislatures in the US have never figured out a way to restore a partisan balance.

The lesson here is one to ideally get the US to severely restrict foreign students, presented domestically as a populist measure.

Internally, you need “civilian control of academia”, so that the professors cannot become a state-within-a-state. A particularly nasty version might include the equivalent of right-wing commissars that could veto the appointment of anyone deemed subversive.

I view Russia vs. the West sort like Republicans vs. Democrats in the US: one is “less bad,” but both still drift steadily more leftward over time. I would love to see Russia make a clean break with moral liberalism, secularism, sexual equality, sexual freedom, anti-fascist rhetoric, internationalism, anti-racism, Judeophilia, etc., but I don’t see any evidence they are doing that. It’s more like they are slowing down the march of the lemmings, same as the Repubs do in America, but not offering a distinct and determined alternative. But I am all in favor of slowing down “the march.” Accelerating the rush off the cliff strikes me as insane. We should put on the most vigorous rearguard action we can and pray for a miracle.

“After consolidating power within academic departments, they had an interlocking system to prevent conservatives from being admitted or hired.”

From what I have heard elsewhere, they have done the same thing in the Federal bureaucracy, where they are protected by the civil service system. And of the course they have long controlled the mainstream media. For a while the internet created a crack in the communications system, but they have leveraged the power of network effects in social media to acquire a commanding position even in this initially democratic medium. And of course the financial oligarchs who fund the political campaigns also tend to be liberal or liberal-leaning, because great wealth, by making individuals feel secure apart from their “tribe,” tends to turn people in a more individualistic and thus socially liberal direction. The only institution of any influence that they do not control is traditional religion, because when religious institutions turn liberal, they decay, leaving only the more conservative or traditional groups standing.

  40. mikesmith says:
    @NazBolFren

“Physical culture and competitive sports have a frequent association with ‘right wing’/’nationalistic’ beliefs in men.” — It seems that way, but I have never seen any research-based support for this.
Men with an interest in military history have a tendency to be “based” in the current slang. Men are are the first born in their nuclear families tend to have more conservative, less radical leanings, although depending on other factors that can just mean that they are “less liberal.” The best predictor of “right wing/nationalistic” sentiment I have found is faith in the dogmas of a traditional religion. The basis from which they evaluate ethical questions or make ethical judgements is less swayed by fashionable opinion.

  41. @mikesmith

I would love to see Russia make a clean break with moral liberalism, secularism, sexual equality, sexual freedom, anti-fascist rhetoric, internationalism, anti-racism, Judeophilia, etc.,

‘Fascism’ and ‘racism’ are inherently liberal and secular; the two ideologies only exist to rationalize the West’s sexual degeneracies.

E.g., the whole point of the “HBD” movement is to pretend like as if white people could still continue to rule the world even though they abandoned monogamy and sexual hygiene laws.

  42. Dmitry says:

    sell out the family silver

Sure, Navalny talks almost only about money today (when 10 years ago, as blogger, he used to write about wider ranges of things, and show a high level of idiocy on different topics).

However, Navalny’s focus on money, is the more accurate “analysis” – everyone knows that the raison d’être of the whole theatre of politics, is to distract the stupid population while you take vast amounts of money. A large part of the drama made by politicians is an epiphenomenon of the scam. Not only in Russia by the way. The difference in Russia though is that public know this already, and are rationally choosing to because it’s better to be slightly raped in stable circumstances than fully raped in unstable ones.
