Zhao Lijian on Friday made some rather poignant statements about the behavior of the West in response to the ongoing border skirmish in the former USSR, calling it “insane.”

Zhao said:

I heard that Russian conductors were fired by orchastras in certain Western countries for refusing to condemn their motherland, and Russian movies were excluded from certain film awards. In university, the works of Dostoyevsky were banned. The display of the letter “Z” was banned in certain countries.

Western politicians often talk about how literature and art transcend borders, and the same goes for music. They also say “private property is inviolable.” So, what have these writers and musicians done wrong? Meanwhile, the private property of so many Russians has been frozen or confiscated.

Let’s hope that Western politicians will reflect on these principles they keep talking about. Their insane actions are not going to do anything good, and they’re not going to deescalate this situation. I hope that all parties can just calm down, and start working on peace talks, instead of escalating sanctions and tensions.

Whatever you think of either side of this conflict, there cannot be any claim that the West has not consistently violated its own supposed “values,” and it’s important to point that out.

Even if someone was deranged enough to “stand with Ukraine,” they would have to admit that doing so means throwing out the entirety of established global norms, especially to do with the global economic system. Though most troubling is the unilateral move to abolish private property rights.

Stealing Russian property without any charges or any legal process at all is so insane that it is difficult to process that it is happening. But it is taking place on a mass scale, across many Western countries.

Now that they’ve established that if the government says you’re “a bad person” – even if you have no direct involvement in any specific alleged crime – they can confiscate your personal property, it is not going to be long until they start declaring non-Russians to be “bad people” and taking their property.

They are stealing every boat owned by someone with a Russian name, and they’ve confiscated houses and apartments owned by Russians all through Europe.

They stole Lavrov’s daughter’s flat in London – just based on the fact that she is related to someone in the Russian government!

It was really, really stupid to do this seizure thing against Russia, as one of the last points of leverage against China was the fact that China has so many foreign investments. But now China knows, without any doubt, that it is only a matter of time before the West decides to seize those investments.

Americans apparently don’t understand how big of a deal property rights actually are. But everyone else in the world does. It’s literally the basis of civilization. To simply throw out the entire concept – without even going through any kind of process – in the name of a moral panic is probably the single easiest microcosm to look at to understand just how unhinged these people have become.

They no longer have any ability to claim to be enforcing a “rules based order,” which was the foundation of the claim that America made to having a moral right to run the world.

I’ve mentioned many times that trade with China vastly reduces the chance of China declaring any kind of open conflict with America. The more trade there is, the stronger the incentive to keep the guns in the holsters.

Obvious in retrospect: it clearly does nothing to reduce the chance of batshit egalitarian theocracy America from declaring war on China. Failure mode’s on the other side there, past me.

America considers China a threat because Americans know they can’t help themselves. They will pick a fight.

That said it was very, very stupid for Russians to hold any kind of assets in the West. If any of them had asked me I would have told them that there was a high chance of Confiscating the Monasteries in reverse.
The question is: do I have unique wisdom or could they have asked anyone who thought about it for ten minutes? You can pick either; I don’t mind.
I can’t say any of these “victims” didn’t deserve it.

The point of epistemology is to stop being surprised by the things that in fact happen. Kind of the whole purpose there. Downside: the future gets super boring, since you see it all coming.

  2. The seizure of Russian oligarch loot is a good thing! It should have been done a long time ago. The Russians had to do it themselves.

Now at least the bastard will know where to keep their stuff. At home, in a Russian bank. And the safest investment now is in the Russian companies and Russian real estate.

This has been such a blessing, Joe!

  3. So, it is the “capitalist” West stealing the property of “communist” Russia? My how Western values have inverted since the US deliberately and with malice broke the back of the Marxist USSR.

They say that a fish rots from the head. Nothing more demonstrates this truism than a senile corrupt old man, with 50 years in the Washington swamp, trying in vain to keep the West together around his anti-white tranny values.

I’ve recently viewed a few docs on YouTube, filmed from inside the Ukraine, years before the war started. Unlike the West, they maintain conservative family values, with strong white fathers celebrated and expected to lead. If not for its corrupt Jewish leadership, absolute masters of propaganda, it would be on the side of Russia, fighting with Putin against Western encroachment into their traditional culture.

    It’s “semitic”. Classic Jewish behaviour.

The same thing happened at the end of WW2 in Germany. Germans were thrown out of their own houses to make way for Eastern Jews flooding into the country.

General George Patton used the same word, “semitic” to describe the situation. He was opposed to it. He wrote in his diary, “We’ve defeated the wrong enemy”.

  15. (1) Hundreds of years of laws pertaining to European warfare overturned at Nuremberg when Bolshevik Soviets rule that a soldier following orders can be accounted guilty of war crimes. Before then, only the officers could be held to be such.

    (2) With the assassination of President John Kennedy by parties unknown in which the accused had purchased a rifle by mail order–said accused murdered by Jack Rubinstein before his damaging testimony could be heard in a fair, open trial–a long assault on the right of Americans to bear arms begins. Prior to the Civil Rights act of 1965 and the revision of immigration quotas to favor future Democratic voters, random gun violence was virtually unheard of in America. Now it is so common as to not even be deemed worth reporting by the Jewish-owned press and electronic media.

    (3) Overturning the Glass/Steagall act by Democrat Bill Clinton results in consolidation of banking which leads to Jewish owned Investment banks flush with deposits from its commercial branch speculating in derivatives and thereby blowing up the banking system.

    (4) Assault on free speech by electronic media giants, ownership of which is concentrated in the hands of the usual suspects.

    (5) Seizure of private property by the political party which is owned and dominated by the same.

    (6) Mass invasion has made many parts of America unrecognizable to one who was born her more than half a century ago. This is an act of war the final goal of which is genocide of White Europeans.

The Bill of Rights is shredded. Semitic people have nothing in common with the Anglo Saxons who formulated and wrote down the so-called Rights of Man which were regarded as God-given and could not be taken away. Quite simply, Jews are incompatible with European Civilization. And I don’t say this as an anti-Semite. It is just a statement of fact, as borne out by their own behavior. In fact, they tell us every day that they don’t agree with anything going on in our culture. They brag that they bring a spirit of reform to all that they find distasteful here. I agree with them. 18. I very rarely read or comment on Andrew Anglin’s articles. However, this one is well-written and raises important issues. Actually, Western, Eastern, Russian governments etc regularly confiscated the property of aliens and interned them. However, they were enemy aliens, and could only be treated as such after declaration of war. At the end of the war, they would be freed from restrictions and they would receive compensation for property confiscated. The latter, however, was often inadequate, especially as it did not take into account the loss of business during the war.

As an illustration, here is a sad story about a building I used to live near.
    https://www.edinburghlive.co.uk/news/history/tragic-story-charles-edinburgh-chocolate-22355535

However, what the West is doing now is totally unprecedented and unlawful. There has been no declaration of war by the Collective West on Russia. Secondly, they have confiscated the property of individuals without any attempt at compensation, or due process. The last point is important during peace time: usually confiscation is used to seize the proceeds of crime. No crime has been established.

Lastly, will these individuals be interned? There has been no declaration of war. There has been no due process. It would be unprecedented and unlawful. I would not be surprised.

PS There are certain people to whom I have never warmed, in part because of their ridiculous noms de plumes. Like Joe Strummer. Is Andrew Anglin’ for a reaction, or is it his real name? Can any reader shed light ?

Perhaps, but it’s not the same thing, is it? Foreigners have property rights only at the sufferance of the foreign countries in which they operate.

It is unclear to me that United States can honestly repay her massive foreign debt. If not, then devaluing the dollar is one solution, but stealing the assets of unpopular foreigners is a simpler solution.

I do not promote stealing assets as a solution, necessarily, but it is a solution.

(Incidentally, for what it’s worth, I own no property outside the United States, not even a share of foreign stock. Admittedly, what I own or do not own is uninteresting to readers—and anyway my holdings, whether foreign or otherwise, are unimpressive—but I mention the matter because the reason I own no property outside the United States is precisely that I do not expect my property rights to be respected abroad. I sold my last foreign asset 25 years ago with this very thought in mind.)

Yes, dude, that was an integral part of Western Civilisation up to WWII, and, indeed, later. It was part of the Westphalian system – and even before that. It indicates that the West has now rejected its own values. This means that the opponents of the West can feel free to do likewise. Bizarrely, the West is shocked when they do so.

  28. Western based Jews are using American power to cancel and fuck Russians over while they can still deflect blowback onto non-Jews in the West. Do you actually believe that there are NATO advisors in Mariupol? That sounds rather far-fetched to me. If there are NATO advisors in Mariupol, and the remnants of the Azov Battalion took them hostage and threatened to kill them, I reckon the Russians would say “Go ahead, kill them. If you don’t, we will.” The Russians have made it abundantly clear that ANY western or NATO forces in Ukraine are belligerents who will be killed. Over two weeks ago the Russians delievered missile strikes on defacto NATO bases in Yavoriv and Zhytomyr in western Ukraine. NATO carried out training at Zhytomyr in September 2018 and described Ukraine as a “NATO partner.” Zhytomyr was destroyed with hypersonic missiles on March 18. Yavoriv suffered a similar fate on March 19. It was the primary training and logistics center that NATO and EUCOM used to supply fighters and weapons to Ukraine. A large number of the military and civilian personnel at that base became casualties. This was a loud message of warning to NATO and the US that the Russians will kill NATO and US forces who enter Ukraine.

There’s a long Europen tradition behind what’s now going on in the West regarding Russians. The common German euphemism is Sippenhaft, a practice of assigning guilt and imposing arbitrary punishment on the kin of those who fall out of favor with authorities. You can still get your bank account closed, loose your club membership or be ostracized in the neighborhood just for association with someone or some movement that has fallen out of favor. Verfassungsschutz, surveillance by official political police, is still regularly invoked to surpress serious opposition parties. Sippenhaft is also a policy of Zionist apartheid. Palestinian families have had their houses demolished for what a relative may have said or done to offend the occupation regime. The USA pretends to be a bit more sensitive to racially motivatated guilt by association, but look what happened to the West Coast Japanese Americans when WWII was declared. Nowadays, there are strange signs of reverse racism in the crumbling legal system. A white can be jailed for infractions for which a black can walk. This business with the Russians is impossible to justify under any functioning system. Maybe it’s just another mark of the systemic weirdness that bubbles to the surfaces in a decaying society that has lost its identity and cohesion.

The irrational and childish actions by the “western governments” to punish Russians and trying to erase Russian culture through various methods, are not the actions of a strong and confident group of allies dedicated to the defense of a sovereign Ukraine, but the final actions of a group of desperadoes trying to buy time so that they can get rid of the evidence of their crimes. It’s recently come to light that the Pelosi, Kerry, Biden and Romney children are up to their ears in slimy financial dealings in the Ukraine with the international media doing everything to cover up. The dam’s already burst and there’s nothing they can do about it.

The United States increased oil supplies from Russia by 43% in a week
    April 3, 2022, 20:44 Text: Olga Ivanova
The US authorities have increased oil supplies from Russia by 43% over the past week, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Mikhail Popov said.

“The United States forced the Europeans to impose anti-Russian sanctions, while they themselves not only continue to import oil from Russia, but also increased the volume of supplies of ‘black gold’ by 43% over the past week, up to 100 thousand barrels per day! In addition, Washington allowed its companies to import mineral fertilisers from Russia, recognising them as essential goods,” he said in an interview with the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper.

According to him, Europe should expect other similar ‘surprises’ from the United States. Popov stressed that “Washington does not allow the Europeans to take similar measures yet.”

Recall that the United States announced on March 8 the introduction of a ban on the import of Russian oil, a number of petroleum products, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and coal.
(My note: the Hegemon expects greater sanctions strictness from its satellites than it practises itself, it would seem…)

As you probably know better than I do, that comes out of the World Economic Forum (WEF). Mike Peinovich judges the WEF to be a feint, a meaningless front organization erected to distract us.

I do not know whether Peinovich is right, but come to think of it, concrete, specific, spiteful harm has been done to me and my family by the Woke and by Jewish élites. Klaus Schwab and his WEF by contrast have done nothing to me and mine that I know. Not a thing.

If they had, I would tell you so.

That WEF video was obnoxious, but Peinovich may have a point.

Supposedly this the wreckage. I don’t know the language so I can’t say by this was posted on a Chinese Russian language channel… It is certainly a Ukrainian aircraft.. The second video is Donbass militia showing they captured Ukrainian and Azov military sites that had NATO weapons… Speak of confiscation – these Chinese made videos they do not show on their western stations…. I guess they know they would get “cancelled”

  71. @frankie p

They have also been finding NATO training books in schools in Mariupol… I just posted two other videos to another comment so I can’t bother to go look for that one. But look up Dmitry Maslak on Youtube – it was one of his war diaries…

And this goes back even further than 2014 with NATO advisors. Ukraine went into foreign invasions with NATO people forget. That required inter-operability. They basically had become a NATO country already…

  72. There will be consequences for the disregard of property rights of Russians in the West. Chinese people will know they could be next and will divest themselves of anything in the West. Apparently a lot of real estate in the U.S. is Chinese owned. The Chinese will, instead, invest in SEA, Latin America, and other areas outside the West.

Many of us in the West will also take note of this and move our assets into areas where they are more difficult to seize. This, of course, will reduce the amount of investment in productive enterprise which, in turn, will have all kinds of knock-on effects.

Yes, it has become clear that the US strategy morphed into treating Ukraine as if it were a NATO ally while denying it the formal recognition as such. Watch the Scott Ritter video interviews from Grey Zone, and listen to him describe the inter-operability that you mention. A large Ukranian force could be sent to Germany and seamlessly transition into the NATO military structure there.

I’m not surprised that they have been finding NATO training books in Mariupol, and everywhere in Ukraine. I would be surprised if at this point in time there were still NATO advisors and trainers in Mariupol.

The difference between millions and tens of thousands is the result of exaggerated western propaganda, which in fact MAO zedong did make a mistake, as the Chinese agree. MAO was a man of complexity. MAO excelled in military strategy, his writings had spiritual significance and recognized the nature of imperialism, but he was not a man fit for economic development.
As for confiscation of property, if a person does something against the law and public morality, that person should be confiscated, but only for that person.

  78. The West has LONG been morally insane. The sheer ferocity of the actions taken to defend their Nazi protectorate are good, however, because it shows that they are suffering The Fear. The fear that the 500 year racket of Western Imperial barbarity is at last being confronted.
This, however, is also bad because the Satanic psychopaths who control the West are capable of ANY atrocity to protect their power, even including destroying humanity if they cannot rule over it, forever.

  79. @Commentator Mike

The Ukronazi labs were but a tiny fraction of the entire US bio-warfare archipelago. They were NOT spending billions for nothing.

Concerning the Palestinians-collective punishment is a Crime Against Humanity, BUT according to the Talmud, an entire city may be destroyed for the ‘crimes’ of a few, and Yahweh will be overjoyed. Hence the destruction of hundreds of Palestinian homes, among the tens of thousands destroyed for various reasons, by the ‘Gods Upon the Earth’.

Do you think that the ultimate commanders directing the military operation from the Ukrainian side are NATO officers with the Ukrainians just executing their commands in the field or are Ukrainian commanders directing actions independently on their own?

  84. @frankie p

Yes understood. Honestly I was not aware in the past. I only started paying attention to Ukraine after the 2014 coup. Typical playbook that was used though. Of course the MSM will claim Putin is a madman.
As to who is left in Mariupol – look up the name of that guy I listen. He’s a Russian speaker who works with Chinese state media. He’s the guy in the videos I posted at comment #70. I can’t recall now what video it was but I watched a series of them and in one video in the rubble they found a passport of what appeared to be a mercenary from Mali and they also found a symbol that former US Marines are known to wear. Doesn’t mean they are NATO trainers still there – but very interesting stuff. Other videos show DPR militias searching and targeting Ukraine/Azov military vehicles that were very cleverly disguised in residential buildings. It honestly looks like they are just targeting residential buildings but only after the smoke clears you see where the vehicles and arms were hidden. I feel bad for the peoples whose homes those were but I find it sick that they hide their military wears among residential spaces. Yet the western media calls Ukrainian fighters brave. It boggles the mind. When Muslim insurgents do the same they call them cowards.

So in reality the opposite of property rights. These guarantee the right of the State to seize your property whenever it happens to think it’s “reasonable,” and if it wants to it can force you to sell at again whatever “reasonable” price it happens to set.

Yeah thanks for legalizing robbery. Awesome.

I’ve worked very closely with several Jews on projects, had a couple of Jewish girlfriends etc. etc. and agree with your basic sentiment–as well as Realist’s. But I’m using the word Jew in a very specific sense. You’re right. Most “Jews” are no more Jewish than I am Christian so the term doesn’t really apply to them. I use it in the sense I derived a week ago in response to and bouncing off of a comment by Kali regarding Karma. I think it’s really appropriate.

    He said,

“What mankind is experiencing right now, both collectively and individually, is the accumulation of repested karmic cycles and the opportunity (actually the challenge) to lay that karma down once and for all. Those conscious and sentient enough to grasp the implications may ultimately serve mankind in a kind of Cosmic Reset, as energies shift in accordance with the urgency of our time.

Karma repeats when we carry the negative effects of painful situations with us. It is amplified when we cause others to suffer by our unconsciousness, as we inflict our own pain, anger and frustrations onto the world around us. Out it goes, to multiply. Until we become self-aware and conscious and let go of suffering.”

    and I responded,

“Then those who preach, “Never forgive, never forget.” are the living embodiment of people mired in the disappointments and pain of their past and hence most bound to the wheel of Karma. Perhaps this is the illusive “Jewishness” of the Jew about which I enquired last week; their essence, their defining characteristic. A Jew is one who yokes him/herself to the unique Karmic cycle that characterizes the historical experiences of the Jewish tribe.

And I believe this is really helpful and brings things into focus.

Those who don’t harness themselves to the characteristic wheel of Jewish Karma aren’t Jews, irrespective of their birth.

Will the day come when I or my family, and our property, may get haphazardly taken away because the AUKUS deems my government’s action contrary to theirs? So, how about we apply that action to the countless illegal actions that the AngloAmericans have done, for a start?
