The United States government is the king of the entire earth.

They can force anyone to do anything, because of the strength of their values.

No one is allowed to disagree with American wars. If people try to disagree with democracy wars, we will threaten and destroy them. That’s not just our values – that’s who we are.

RT:

India’s refusal to cast aside its longstanding friendship with Russia over the war in Ukraine is “unsatisfactory,” US diplomat Mira Rapp-Hooper told an online conference hosted by the School of Advanced International Studies, while admitting it was also “unsurprising.”

Rapp-Hooper, director for the Indo-Pacific region on the White House’s National Security Council, was specifically referring to India’s recent votes at the United Nations, where it has declined to come out against Russian actions in Ukraine and remained silent in the Security Council votes on the matter.

“I think we would certainly all acknowledge and agree that when it comes to votes at the UN, India’s position on the current crisis has been unsatisfactory, to say the least. But it’s also been totally unsurprising,” she said on Friday.

While explaining that India had strengthened its ties with Russia for its own safety as its relationship with China deteriorated, the American diplomat suggested the country was now thinking “long and hard” about its decision to cozy up to Moscow and suggested the US should focus on providing India with “options.” This she characterized as “providing for its strategic autonomy,” though her approach seemed aimed at driving India directly into the arms of the US and NATO rather than giving it any ‘autonomy’ in the matter.

Rapp-Hooper suggested Washington not stop at trying to talk India out of buying Russian armaments, noting that “we have a number of partners that have chosen to keep their chips in with Russia, in terms of their defense procurement, in part as a hedge against China.” These countries are now rethinking those decisions and need replacements for those weapons systems, she said, implying the US should guide them toward purchasing its own systems or those built by allies.

This is a total mischaracterization and/or misunderstanding of the situation.

Everyone on earth is shocked by what they’ve seen the US do in the last month, in terms of all of these violations of international law actions against Russia – many of them unbelievable, such as just randomly seizing billions of dollars’ worth of property because people hold Russian passports – over a border skirmish that does not violate international law.

You can say whatever you want about the concept of international law, but it is the basis upon which nations form relationships with each other. When a country demonstrates that they are willing to completely dump any pretense of abiding by international law, ostensibly in the name of a moral panic, no one is going to trust that country.

The US is now viewed as a rogue state. Not only did they violate all of this law that has been established since the end of World War I, but they are purposefully prolonging a conflict, outright refusing diplomacy, and saying that they are going to fight for decades, again, based ostensibly on nothing more concrete than moral outrage.

If you’re in a business arrangement with a party and they very publicly start belligerently violating contracts with another party, and then look at you and demand that you agree with these actions, you’re going to do everything you can to get out of your partnership with that party.

Framing this as “India is just against China” is utterly nonsensical. As we reported, the top Chinese diplomat just flew to India to attempt to mend relations, in light of the recent actions by the United States. India also knows that China and Russia are BFF, so imagining that India thinks they are going to use Russia to fight China is ridiculous.

The US cannot admit anything that is going on. They cannot admit that they are effectively building an Iron Curtain around themselves and the states they directly control in Europe by belligerently alienating the entire rest of the world.

Furthermore, no one wants to say it, but the way the US is structuring these sanctions, anyone who doesn’t cut ties with Russia is eventually going to face the same sanctions – if they go through with this plan as it is laid out. That is an Iron Curtain.

If the US adds these same sanctions to China and India, they will be cutting all ties with two of the top five economies in the world – and also taking these lunatic actions against them, cutting them off from the dollar system, stealing all of their property, and forcing them to default on debt.

What you are witnessing is a ruling class that has completely lost its mind.

None of these objectives they are putting forth make any sense.

Lying About Everything Can Only Get You So Far

You can’t run a system completely based on lies for very long. Aside from the fact that no one will trust you, you have the fact that a system based on everyone lying to each other cannot be internally cohesive.

How many people in the government even understand what is actually going on? Sure, they can have backroom meetings and secret email groups and so on, but the government is a big body with a lot of people required to work together.

And they are not just lying to the public and the world at large – they are lying to each other. There is no greater example than Afghanistan. The Pentagon and State Department said that the “Afghan government” would stand for at least six months. They were off by 5 months and 29 days. The politicians obviously believed these lies – there is no possible reason they would have done what they did if they didn’t believe those lies.

The reason that they have all these liars telling them lies is that they fire people who tell the truth.

So, do US political figures understand India’s motivations in backing away from the US? Or do they believe people in think tanks who think India’s main concern is that they have more weapons to fight the Chinese?

I have no idea. And most people in the government have no idea. Even if you are in the government and understand the dynamics, you don’t know how many other people in the government understand those dynamics.

It’s just not feasible to have a government, or any large institution, that is so totally based on lies as the current Western system last very long. Right now, the West is running on fumes. A machine was built by serious people, and it is now being managed by unhinged lunatics, morons, and unrepentant fiends. They are crashing the ship.

This is a better graphic for depicting the world economy by a country’s importance. When discussing the GDP of an entire economy rather than GDP per capita, nominal is a better measure than PPP because a country doesn’t use PPP-adjusted money to buy energy and other commodities.

Note that sanctionous Western Europe has 18% of the world’s population, but the other 82% remains neutral, to include the 40% that consist of India, China, and Russia. To be fair, they also remained neutral when the USA bombed Serbia with no UN backing killing 2000 civilians.

There is no coming back from where things are now. Best case scenario is total clusterfuck. Worst is thermonuclear war and end of Western civilization. I’m better on the latter.

Andrew Anglin, the self professed White Nationalist and National Socialist, pretends that he is a pro-White, pro-traditional, anti-feminist White male. He loudly professes his hatred for jews and everything they represent. His website features articles geared towards White nationalism, or at least that is what he wants you to believe. Here are some juicy facts that many of you are not aware of, or maybe you are but you just do not see the whole picture. Back in 2012 Andrew has an online interview where he publicly declares several disturbing things. Well, they are disturbing to anyone who is a true WN. This video recording has been removed several times from the internet, and YouTube especially, mainly due to “copyright infringement”. But alas the internet is forever. Too bad for Anglin. The truth lives on.

Andrew goes on record stating several things, the worst of which is the fact that he absolutely loathes White men because they destroyed the world. This was not just a simple statement, it was said with contempt, anger, and hatred. He also says other things such as how he prefers Black women and White people scare him.

  10. After its Independence in 1947, India tries to steer clear of the gang-up politics of the two Superpowers of the day. Having tasted the British rule, it had an aversion to the kind of capitalism practised in the West; it tried to imitate the socialist countries, but not much successful. In 1961, it started the much maligned Non-Aligned Movement. But it was America which pushed India into the arms of Soviet Union. American foreign policies drove India to seek the protection of USSR. The unstinting American support to Pakistan convinced India it needed the protection of USSR’s nuclear umbrella. Things culminated in a 20 year agreement of mutual security with USSR in 1971. Armed with this, India went to war with Pakistan, broke it into two and created Bangladesh.

After that the relationship between Indian and USSR became very stable and reliable. An Indian was launched into space by the USSR; India leased nuclear submarines from USSR; the Indian Air Force was full of Soviet planes. After 1991 the relationship cooled a bit, but never disappeared entirely.

India is in Asia; and Chinese shadow is long and darkening; America has never been a dependable ally, as Ukraine learnt to its cost. But USSR was very dependable for its partners (only Russia let down Yugoslavia in 1997). And Russia also faces long term apprehensions about China. Therefore India has no option but not to antagonize Russia.

Wrong. Because of brute military force, backed by over 800 military bases around the world. The only values that inform America’s hegemony and foreign policy are thirst for blood, theft and total subservience to Israel.

…such as just randomly seizing billions of dollars’ worth of property because people hold Russian passports – over a border skirmish that does not violate international law.

But how do you rate the economic importance of a country that does NOT use its PPP-adjusted income to buy energy and other commodities, because it produces most of the comodities internally and has plenty of them left for export? To make things more convincing, such countries often produce all the nuclear and non-nuclear weaponry they need, which happen to be both cheaper and better (more reliable and more lethal) than those that can be purchased on the international market? I know at least one such country, its name begins with “R”.

  20. …randomly seizing billions of dollars’ worth of property because people hold Russian passports – over a border skirmish that does not violate international law.

It is likely not done “randomly ” but in a targeted manner. One must distinguish between “sanction blocking” and “seizing“, upon forfeiture, the latter being subject to judicial proceedings. The following article explains the differences:

    https://news.bloomberglaw.com/us-law-week/targeting-the-oligarchs-what-does-it-mean

Furthermore, a “border skirmish” fairly describes the brief military conflicts that India has had with China and Pakistan in geographically limited mountainous terrain at its northern borders. The technically correct term for the military conflict recently initiated by Russia against Ukraine is a “war of aggression“, a serious crime, in violation of international law.

In 1940, an old lady from some backwater in the forests of Germany has a schoolteacher explain the globe to her.
Teacher: “Thiiis is the US and Canada. Thiiis is China. And thiiiiis is the Sovjet Union.”
Granny: “And where is our great, grand, beautiful German Empire?”
    Teacher: “Uh, this here.”
Granny after ten seconds of thinking, evidently worried: “Does the Führer know that?”

    It seems he did not.

And these days, it is not so much about geographic size as about economic size and social cohesion. The diagram is interesting but does not take into account that most of the economy of the Anglosphere is third sector and hence, when the shite hits the fan, essentially disposable, unlike first and second sector. In fact, the third sector generates little or no (depending on the precise definition) value but mostly redistributes it. Would be interesting to have a similar chart with exclusion of the banking and insurance business.

That’s pretty much nonsense. The cost of labor and of land are much bigger in any economy than the cost of commodities. And they are far far from equivalent everywhere. Moreover a good number of commodities can successfully be substituted. Developing countries are often able to get perhaps 80 or 90% of the utility of expensive commodities for half or a third of the price by substituting.

For example developing countries use cheaper blends of coffee beans, use far more efficient water heaters (which only heat water when it gets to the shower head etc.)

It has always been a usurper regime.

It has never been a free country. De Tocqueville wrote about cancel culture in 1836. Before Lincoln, even.

It’s just not feasible to have a government, or any large institution, that is so totally based on lies as the current Western system last very long.

Lasted over 250 years already bro. I suppose on geological scales that’s not very long.

It was not built by serious people. The Massachusetts colony was full of religious nutjobs – and still is. John Adams was a terrorist nutjob who would burn down your house with you in it if you voted wrong. Sound familiar? His spirit lives to this day. George Washington was a tool and a puppet, just like Biden is. Continuity of institutions.

Naw the Sarumans in this Wormtongue regime just didn’t much care. The loot had dried up too much, and Iran was never properly intimidated the way it was supposed to be. Why bother with an orderly withdrawal – it’s not like they ever personally went there, now is it? Who cares if Theoden gets nabbed by some goatfuckers? Just let it collapse under its own weight.

P.S. You familiar with Eternal September? Of course the internet was originally owned by DARPA. In 1993, the CIA made its play and it’s been a CIA op ever since. AOL is headquartered in a suburb of Langley: it’s not some weird CEO eccentricity that spammed everyone with those CDs. No wonder they could afford the obviously wasteful habit, turns out the Fed was footing the bill.

The result being that the internet is a suburb of San Francisco and follows SF norms. In other words, you’re supposed to be crazy and stupid, and anyone not-crazy is quickly driven off the platform by swarms of obsessed madmen.

The photographs of pretty women almost never become public. I see properly beautiful ladies often enough in real life, but almost never on the internet. India has been betrayed by perfidious Albion numerous times (obviously with the help of some of India’s own ruling elites before and after Independence). Indian soldiers were dispatched to fight the Germans in WWI even before the British arrived there. This happened because India had been promised self-rule normally reserved for “European” dominions like OZ and Canada if they supplied some cannon fodder.

Of course that did not happen.

Then they fought again in WWII although the role of soldiers from the Empire has been completely airbrushed from history with the exception of “heroic” Canada and Australia.
Once you start rereading world history without ideology, you realize how much of it is in fact ideological storytelling.

Right now there is a lot of reawakened interest in the real story of independence in India, one which will likely lead to a rather different version than what one studies in a history text written in Britain. This reevaluation of historical tropes: North America + Western Europe = good, everyone else = bad if they don’t obey the good is what will guide future alliances.

For instance, in Russia, WWII is known as the Great Patriotic War. Unlike the other Allied powers of the US, UK, Franc which had soldiers all over the place in countries that were nowhere near it, the USSR’s forces were not all over the global map in the same way.

The two world wars were essentially wars of empire between colonizers of Africa and Asia. They were not world wars, they were imperial wars. Wars are always bad, everybody loses. But they are even worse if they are justified with lies. For what it’s worth, you can’t be more honest than saying: demilitarization and denazification. I have no idea how the second will work but the first is at least a pretty clear and open military objective.

What he left out, though, was what happens when empires without friends become feeble, tired and old.

Perhaps in Hank’s mind, the US would be on top forever or at least longer than anyone would remember his words.

It takes a lot of money, muscle and intelligence to lie, cheat, steal and murder right in front of everyone without ever being held accountable. The Mob ruled supremely in New York for the better part of 20 years. Yet, with their hubris and once their weaknesses were understood and a strategy put in place to counter them, their criminal empire collapsed in just a fraction of the time. No one stood up to help them and few tears were shed.

US military muscle has atrophied. Carriers and AWACS are sitting ducks. There is no immediate defense against hypersonic weapons. They can still rain bombs down on defenseless 3rd-world peasants, but even there they cannot occupy ground much less win any hearts and minds. That they won’t take on anyone who can fight back has become a virtual axiom.

The intelligence of US leadership has become feeble. Their best and brightest can seemingly read only from the same tired script. When the old routines no longer work, they simply raise their voices to a shrill, fever pitch and read from the same old script again. Those with the open-minded, creative and innovative thought processes necessary to adapt to a rapidly changing world aren’t allowed on the team. The unfortunate few with such temerity are immediately cancelled and ostracized. Truth is the greatest enemy of poor leadership.

The US dollar just isn’t what it used to be. The stranglehold placed on the rest of the world by forcing compliance with the US financial system is weakening. Alliances are held together through coercion, not bu like minded desire. Sanctions have more holes than a fish net and lead only to more self-reliance by target nations. The urgency to create functioning workarounds to the US financial system has never been greater. The implementation and rollout has never been nearer.

The age of gangster diplomacy is rapidly coming to a close.

What this means for the US remains to be seen. Whether it collapses entirely and fragments into civil war, or whether it can succeed in reshaping itself into a saner, humbler and less criminal version of its former self is anyone’s guess.

What is certain is that if there is a positive reinvention of the US, it will come only as a result of honest self-reflection and where the human detritus that makes up the current ruling class is thrown out with the trash.

In any case, the US seems destined to play out Hank’s adage to the bitter end and learn what it means to go through this process without friends.

GDP can be used to measure a number of structurally different economies. For example certain smaller places have GDP generated mainly through tourism, or through expats sending back money they earned elsewhere. May look like generic GDP from the outside, but actually be pretty fragile stuff that can dissolve in a puff at a moment’s notice.

With bigger players you’ve got your three basic types of nominal GDP generation.

    1) Mostly fake VINTAGE SOVIET style: tons and tons of pig iron and concrete made, which then rot in warehouses. Tons and tons of grain rotting in storage. Thousands of tractors rusting away in rows, etc.Defeat the imperialist by raising production of pig iron no one will ever use!
They actually made physical stuff, but much of it did not enter the economy in any meaningful way. So a huge chunk of the GDP was in fact imaginary.

    2) Mostly fake MODERN AMERICAN style: constant flows of sales and resales of debts and promises of future riches. Of course a GDP made up of 90% debt is real my boy. You need to get a proper education.
Plus these days relentless money printing. Exactly the opposite of the fake Soviet GDP, but just as imaginary.

    3) Mostly real GDP with stuff actually being made and then actually entering the market, and services actually being offered about stuff here and now. China’s economy today has the flaws of both the US imaginary GDP and the Soviet imaginary GDP (the latter perhaps best illustrated in the huge cities that get built and then left to stay empty), but still to a relatively minor extent compared to the rest of their economy. What do you mean building this city was pointless. That’s crazy talk. To the sanatorium with you!

China’s economy today is much more “American” in many senses not only compared to the USSR, or even today’s Russia, but even many parts of today’s America.Mmm, every day I just sit on my Aliexpress dildo and wait for the train to pass on the other side of my apartment wall. What a ride, people, what a ride.

The six diagnostic signs of Fascism:

Followed by some (not all) features of American degeneracy. Derived from Frankfurt School, adopted by USA/the west. To their great damage and self-destruction. Not Fascism at all.

As you seem to be a juvenile in need of education, here is a link to help you to stop making a public fool of yourself. It’s entirely possible that these concepts from Giovanni Gentile and Benito Mussolini are beyond your reach, possibly even your understanding, but there will those reading this to whom these words will be an advantage —

Fascism wants man to be active and to engage in action with all his energies; it wants him to be manfully aware of the difficulties besetting him and ready to face them. It conceives of life as a struggle in which it behooves a man to win for himself a really worthy place, first of all by fitting himself (physically, morally, intellectually) to become the implement required for winning it. As for the individual, so for the nation, and so for mankind. Hence the high value of culture in all its forms (artistic, religious, scientific) and the outstanding importance of education. Hence also the essential value of work, by which man subjugates nature and creates the human world (economic, political, ethical, and intellectual)

Russia is spearheading the extension of the BRI to all of Europe so that the Chinese can sell quality products at reasonable price to the EU. This will become especially important as EU factories keep closing and when, soon enough, even Germany will not be able to produce quality goods at any price, reasonable or not.

Right now there is a lot of reawakened interest in the real story of independence in India, one which will likely lead to a rather different version than what one studies in a history text written in Britain.

    Yes indeed.
Such will doubtless include Netaji (“Respected Leader”) Subhash Chandra Bose and the Azad Hind Fauj (Indian National Army). These accounts will also feature re-appraisals of National Socialism and Fascism vis-a-vis the victorious judeo-masonic system/s which have led to national collapse and degeneracy in the west. Arabs will take the same road.
This is a brief introduction to SCB from an Indian education source —

… Subhas Chandra Bose joined the Indian National Congress (INC) under the influence of Mahatma Gandhi and started the newspapers called “Swaraj” which means self-governance which marks his entry into politics and his role in the freedom struggle in India has just started…

I am always baffled by the dilettantism of Western elites when they deal with civilisations that are quintessentially different from theirs. China and India are civilisations before being nations and they are lasting not because they are merely long-term, but because they are long-time. In other words, they use a different scale to measure historical time, and they use a different scale to define the concept of memory.
On India’s timescale, the India-Pakistan war was yesterday and she remembers who came to her rescue when the US and UK navies threatened her. Paradoxically, the West’s actions pertaining to the Russia-Ukraine crisis may have as an unintended positive effect peace not only between India and China but also between India and Pakistan because even the Pakistani realise how dishonest and untrustworthy is the West and that having good relations with neighbours is a much better avenue towards a peaceful and prosperous future than relying on an alliance with the US.

[The Russian pogrom myth is an excellent example given that it was repeated during the Polish hoax (The Sentinel: “The outrages perpetrated by old Russia against the Jews are child-play in comparison with the appalling crimes perpetrated by the Polish government and the Polish people against the Jews”). The reality, of course, was that the Russian and Polish ‘atrocities’ were equally baseless and fraudulent.]

They used to enslave millions of Hindus and take them away, they humiliated our ancestors and entire sections of India was depopulated. And Muslims used to love raping, it was a weapon they loved to use, they believed our women were their automatic sex slave. So much so, Bhai our women, to save themselves from beastly Muslim rapists, to save their honour would jump in fire with their children, ritual called jauhar. Hindu women jumping in fire with their children to protect themselves from dishonour and enslavement when Muslim barbarian rapist horde army were winning war.

The left started becoming unhinged when it became clear that the PC ideology that they spent decades building and previously could always rely on the public to support was falling apart. That would be around 2016, after they took political correctness to absurd levels in the second half of the Obama years, resulting in the election of Trump. They used to count on it, it was like magic and brought them power, but now their magic wand was no longer working, and they couldn’t understand why.

When I say PC ideology, I’m not just talking about political correctness as it came into being in the late 80s/early 90s. It goes back before the Civil Rights Movement, to the 1950s and the liberal Hollywood push against the conservative “Father Knows Best”/World War II generation values.

India has been betrayed by perfidious Albion numerous times (

    How? When???

obviously with the help of some of India’s own ruling elites before and after Independence).

Often with the help of the common masses and the downtrodden. The Westernised elites were the ones fighting for decolonisation. The Downtrodden preferred the British because the British were seen as fair and just gentlemen.

Indian soldiers were dispatched to fight the Germans in WWI even before the British arrived there.

May be true, but most Indian soldiers were deployed at the Turkish front which was far less dangerous than the German front. Sure there were Indian regiments in the German front.

This happened because India had been promised self-rule normally reserved for “European” dominions like OZ and Canada if they supplied some cannon fodder.

Pure bullshit. It were the Congress party which claimed that after WW1, they should be given dominion status. A very unwise move as this would put too much power in the hands of upper caste Hindus at the expense of minorities like Muslims and lower caste Hindus. The truth is the Congress had no political right to demand it, the Indian soldiers did not join the war because of what Congress thought (very few of them were of the tough martial races) but because of the command of their King Emperor. The anti-British Congressi were mostly pussyboy barristers who did not go to the front to fight but used the occasion to demand greater power to themselves. The tough martial races who picked up weapons to fight, did it for their King Emperor.

Besides, in every polity, in case of war, all parts of the polity had the duty to fight for the polity while the polity does its best to provide protection and peace. If the USA goes to fight, California and Texas and all 50 states go to fight, while in return the USA is supposed top provide security from external invasions in return. This is true for all polities be it the Mongol Empire, USSR, PRC, Republic of India, Nigeria, Roman Empire, Spanish Empire, Brazil, Indonesia and yes, similarly the British Empire. The British Empire brought peace and prosperity to India. Just before the British conquests, India was reeling under constant wars in between Indian kingdoms, Unity under the British Empire brought peace. Constant Afghan raids of the Duranni Empire, which means mass killing, enslavement, rapes and destruction and loot of Indians. After becoming part of the British Empire, number of destructive Afghan raids into India=zero. Pindari dacoits roaming the lands looting poor peasants with glee, the British Empire put a stop to this menace once and for all. Not a easy task, needed 100000 strong army to encircle the Pindaris and destroy them for good. British navy protects the Indian coastline and keeps peace in the Indian ocean region.
This was true for nearly all parts of the British Empire, so when the Empire goes to war, all parts of the Empire goes to war. It was duty.

Then they fought again in WWII although the role of soldiers from the Empire has been completely airbrushed from history

Not true, the British Army still maintains the graves of Indian soldiers of the Empire in Europe with full honours, even today.

  82. Bullet politics:

During the cold war, the world was more or less delineated by rifle types and bullet calibers.

Communists and fellow travelers in the East and global south used the AK47 and the 7.62×39 bullet.
NATO and its sponsored states used the Western alliance caliber 7.62×51 or the 5.56mm.

India is going back to a variant of the original Russian AK47 rifle and caliber, after a dalliance with the NATO standard. This is a huge but under-rated indicator of which way the wind is blowing.

US measures GDP by money changing hands plus services that do not involve money like cutting your own lawn, repairing your own car, taking care of your young kids and aging parents, etc. USA GDP mainly is made up by intangible assets and services. While China’s GDP is made up of tangible assets and commercial services. Comparing GDP in exchange rate is a nice way to say the king(USA) has a nice new clothes.

“The fact is, as everyone, British or Indian, who understands the East will, if honest, admit, that 99 per cent of the people do not care a brass farthing for ** the forms of government,”. What they do desire is protection of life and property, light taxation, a minimum of interference from subordinate official, impartial and speedy justice, increasing facilities for medical relief, communications and elementary education, measures to secure and improve agriculture and avert scarcity, and in general an honest and efficient administration. Some aspects of the progress that was being made towards the attainment of these objects have been sketched in a preceding chapter. Politics play but a small part in these aims, and while not disregarded, were therefore not given undue consideration in pre-reform days. The excessive prominence given to politics, and politicians under the reform scheme, has admittedly thrown the solid work of administration for the good of the masses into the background.
Unfortunately, such work made but little appeal to ambitious Indian politicians eager for power and place, and possessed of an overweening sense of their own capacity. Having little historical sense and short memories, they have failed to visualise the anarchy from which India has been rescued by one hundred and fifty years patient labour of British public servants, and the narrow margin of security, i.e. the British Services and the British Army, which safeguards India from relapsing into chaos. Hence their demand, put forward during the great crisis of the War, when England’s difficulty was political India’s opportunity, that India should be endowed at once with the political institutions of the most advanced Western countries. That demand was pressed with reckless disregard of the fact that India is still a country (or rather a continent larger and more diverse than Europe with Russia left out) marching in uneven stages through the centuries from the fifth to the twentieth.”
    …snip…..
“”Responsible government ” has no meaning to the Indian peoples, no equivalent in any Indian vernacular; while the reference to “self governing institutions”, in so far as it was understood by the masses at all, was taken to mean that Britain was weary of rule and was withdrawing from her responsibilities, before the were even half discharged. To the peaceful, loyal and non-political masses, the message made no appeal; from them it evoked no response. The word of Sovereign at all times make an appeal to Oriental peoples, who offer their allegiance not to an impersonal British Government, but to the person of their Sovereign whom they regard as something almost divine. Nothing shows more dearly the lack of imagination in latter-day politicians than their failure to make appropriate use of this potent influence. It was the call of the King Emperor and not that of the British Government or of the Prime Minister, that enabled us to rally hundreds of thousands of loyal Punjabis to the colours in the four years of the Great War.”

No, the Western educated freedom fighters of the Congress party has been teaching virulent anti-British Empire propaganda in brainwashing propaganda textbooks from 1947. And that is what led to India being a disaster. Idiotic Socialist policies since 1947 a kind of anti-business bureaucracy which still plagues India to this day. idiotic actions like banning of Indian currency some years ago, all of these disasters are a result of bullshit anti-British propaganda and lies. What is happening now is decolonisation 2.0, now Indians are looking at the pre British colonisation of India, the Islamic colonisation and the rise of Right Winged Hindutva desiring revenge for 800 years of Islamic slavery.

USSR’s forces were not all over the global map in the same way.

LOL LOL LOL, the Russian Empire was like any other European Empire but it was more land based. Except that it was an European Empire which expanded into Asia. The USSR being a revolutionary state claimed the boundaries of an Imperialist state, Tzarist Russia!!! This is equivalent to if, Britain would have a communist revolution, suddenly the British communists would get to claim India, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Nigeria, Ghana, Malaysia etc… and would have the right to actively Bolshevise them irrespective of whether the populations there wanted it or not!!! The Central Asian Turkics revolted and fought the Soviet occupiers for three decades, The Basmachi revolution, brutally crushed by the Soviets Also the sudden conquest and bolshevisation of the Baltic States of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Bolshevisation meant murder of a percentage of the population and a good chunk of the populations sent to gulags. No plebiscite taken there to ascertain among the population about if they even wanted this shitty Bolshevisation. And a similar but failed attempt in Finland, the USSR even had a Finnish Soviet Republic ready until it was abolished. The later USSR had only 15, not 16 Soviet Republics.
And also let us not forget how the USSR along with Britain invaded Iran during WW2. While Britain left Iran immediately after the war, the Soviets were at first reluctant to leave.

Similarly, if it becomes too pro-China, China may try to make India a bitch like the recent behaviour shown towards Pakistani PM Imran Khan by Premier Xi. Russia or the USSR may have treated some countries a bitches, it never treated India as such, indeed the USSR treated India as its younger brother, gave India a blank cheque. So India is more comfortable with Russia.
The current position is best for India, no chance of alliance with China (but there is trade), balancing USA and Russia with the USA needing India for its QUAD alliance. Countries of Europe like France, Germany, Britain or Japan or Australia etc.. do not try to treat India like a bitch nor is there a chance in the future but they are close American allies.

You are correct, neither am I, but I thought it would interesting to point it out, since there is a lot of propaganda and/or confusion around China already being the biggest economy using PPP, etc., even though there is the possibility (albeit slim) that it might never overtake the U.S. in terms of nominal GDP. But quality definitely trumps quantity in this area, and that’s why productivity is my favorite economic prowess/success measure, and here China still has a lot of catching up to do:

By 2050, Bloomberg Economics projects China’s productivity will have caught up to 70% of the U.S. level—putting it in the typical range for countries at a comparable level of development.

    https://www.business-standard.com/article/international/when-will-china-s-economy-beat-the-us-to-become-no-1-it-may-never-happen-121070600079_1.html

In an/my ideal/utopian world, human beings should not work to live, but comfortably live firstly and then have the option to work if they so chose. In terms of per capita nominal GDP divided by annual hours worked, even the U.S. has a lot of catching up to do. Americans, according to this source, work almost 500 hours more per year than Germans, for example, on average. Northwestern, continental European countries are doing the best in this department, it appears, with “Low Hours” and “High Output” numbers, and seem to be the most balanced societies when it comes to a healthy work-life balance:Image Source: https://howmuch.net/articles/worlds-most-productive-countries or https://archive.ph/4Qp06

What are these long term reservations about China that Russia supposedly has? In the early 1990’s Russia and China settled their differences. It’s been uphill since then. People say that Russia is hedging India against China. But that is nonsense. When India and China fought in the 1960’s China openly told the Soviets they would fight a 2 front war against them if they had to (China and the Soviets fought a border war shortly after anyway) since they knew the Soviets were allies of India. So while it is true that Russia is India’s top arms supplier – it is also true that Russia sells China more of its advanced weapons (or first dibs) upfront and then to India years later. For instance India has the Su-30 but so far not the Su-35 that China got. Russia gave India some subs on lease – but it sold a dozen of its most quiet subs (Kilo) to China. S400 was sold to China before India. In between that Russia and Pakistan are both building better relations with each other.
My point being – Russia does not appear to be trying to play the “divide and rule” that the west does. Witness both Pakistan and India being admitted to the SCO at the same time. That was an obvious signal by China and Russia that they are being balanced and measured in what they do.
They are both attempting to show in diplomacy that just because you have a problem with country “x” doesn’t mean that I should too. And because “x” and “y” don’t get along – the whole region shouldn’t suffer – but “z” should try to bring them together rather than trying to play one off the other (which is exactly what Russian FM Lavrov said when the 2020 border issue happened between India and China – while the U.S. was openly siding with India hoping to stir up tensions further – as usual).

Most Americans are totally stupid and ignorant, esp. when it comes to foreign affairs. 99% of Americans probably can’t even locate Ukraine on a map, yet both the left and the right now think we need to install a no-fly zone and go to war with Russia. The right also thinks if only Donald Trump had been in charge this never would’ve happened, that Putin is emboldened because Biden is weak, but of course they still think we’re the good guys and Putin is Satan, refused to even consider that it is USA who instigated the war by forcing Russia’s hand with continuous NATO expansion.

And, without a wise man named JFK during the Cuban Missile Crisis, there would probably have been nuclear war. His Joint Chiefs of Staff wanted to drop nukes on Russia, but JFK would have none of it. Just compare senile Biden to leaders like Ike and JFK. Pathetic. Shows how far the country’s IQ has fallen.

As to the American ruling class, they know that a Russian victory means the end of their era of FULL SPECTRUM DOMINANCE. However, I doubt if either Putin or Xi Jinping were caught flatfooted by over-the-top hysteria of US leadership and the controlled media. Putin knew what he was getting into but had no choice if he wanted to save Russia.

The name for the war hysteria gripping the country goes back to an ancient Greek term: Thucydides Trap.

Only serves to underline the impossibility of reason, making victory at any cost Russia’s only option which guarantees a fight to the end, since its implacable enemies are not exactly noted as magnanimous victors.

In the above comment we can see the effects of envy poisoning on the merchant-caste.

Quite rationally afraid of someone who is smarter than they are (nerd beats cheat) they like to point out that the nerd doesn’t have any friends. “You have to be friends with [bad person].” Unfortunately, this doesn’t cause the nerd to become dumber, so the cheat remains envious and mildly terrified.

They could attempt to apply arguments, but they are aware this would only highlight their clumsy skill with arguments. Even the other merchants would find it cringy. Hence the use of Sophist misdirection.

Every time they do this they reveal what they’re afraid of, but they simply can’t help themselves.

Fascism is the politics of narcissism, and even mildly revealing the similarity makes the narcissist panic. Sadly, the only defence the narcissist has is projection. They start describing themselves to you. Again. Why evil gotta be so banal, bro.

Fascism wants man to be active and to engage in action with all his energies

    Point 2.

it wants him to be manfully aware

    Point 4.

It conceives of life as a struggle in which it behooves a man to win for himself a really worthy place

    Point 2.

As for the individual, so for the nation, and so for mankind.

Universalism. Fascism is a Catholic heresy. Point 5.

    outstanding importance of education

“Education should aim at destroying free will so that after pupils are thus schooled they will be incapable throughout the rest of their lives of thinking or acting otherwise than as their school masters would have wished”
    -Johann Gottlieb Fichte
Almost as if Fascism is a tyranny or something weird like that.

Gotta be “educated” so you stop contradicting the narcissist’s PR, see. Point 1.

Hence also the essential value of work

    Arbeit macht frei?

Naturally under feminine Fascism the idea is that, instead, nobody works. Except the State Enemy, perhaps.
We also find that surprisingly women hate kids and would rather not, on average. By contrast, Stalin banned abortion. Or perhaps women are that repulsed at the idea of having children with womanish men? They really would rather die?

Hence the high value of culture in all its forms (artistic, religious, scientific)

Obvious lie. Those that walk it don’t have to talk it. The Fascist ‘culture’ is as boring as the narcissists in charge of it.

No, Vovan & Lexus are not as hilarious or intelligent as one author here, but their ability to get through the secretaries of politicians and people like pop superstars, and high-profile businessmen is astounding.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vovan_and_Lexus

After speaking with Ben Wallace they contacted the UK Home Secretary, Priti Patel. At the end of the conversation Lexus asked her to say a popular Russian phrase “anglichanka gadit,” telling her that it means “England is helping us” and that it would cheer up the Ukrainian people, and so she did, with a smile.

But in truth the phrase translates “the English witch befouls” and it refers to the Queen of the United Kingdom. In fact, the literal translation is “the English bitch is shitting on our porch.” And then they asked her to say something to praise heroes Vovan and Lexus who are dropping bombs on the Russians and she did that too.

“Vovan and Lexus, incredible heroes! And thanks to them for the work that they have been doing.”

    https://publish.twitter.com/?hideConversation=on&query=https%3A%2F%2Ftwitter.com%2FTJ0059%2Fstatus%2F1507418755785457664&widget=Tweet

Years ago they spoke with a Ukrainian oligarch, for hours, impersonating some Donbass militia officers, and baiting him with a promise to send him a porn video of a popular nationalist politician, who is a homo. They told him that it was found in the phone of his lover, whom they said they had captured.

The oligarch told them all that he knew about the politics and corruption in Ukraine, because he wanted to get that video. He needed it so he could discredit that politician. And all the time he and Lexus were drinking cognac, a bottle each. Vovan and Lexus had spoken with him four times before he started to feel that something was wrong with it. The fellows had millions of views on YouTube then.

Once Lexus called Talib Kweli and spoke with him, too. But not on camera, because he and Vovan were pretending to be Greta Thunberg and her Greta’s father, and Lexus told Talib that he and Greta were concerned about the racist Russian Nazi rappers, who Talib thought had been trolling him on his Twitter page for a couple of months then.

He said that those Russian trolls were by far the most atrocious people he had encountered in his whole life, and that in the absence of some people of color around the Americans, Europeans and let alone the mean Russians are bound to become Nazis. And something has to be done about it now, or else the world is doomed.

And some time earlier Vovan and Lexus called sir Elton John pretending to be Putin.

The USA has a very skewed economy, with California, Texas and New York producing much of its GDP, having Silicon Valley, Oil&Gas and Wall Street as its main industries, respectively. China has been restructuring its economy to become much more diversified based on its fast-growing technology and services industries, away from its slowing-down infrastructure and manufacturing industries. That’s what I meant by the quality of its GDP which is moving towards a ‘green’ economy with less energy-intensive and more knowledge-based industries in the future. A good example is China’s HSR which is ten times more energy efficient than autos and planes while using ten times less land than highways. The USA by contrast has a very inefficient transportation system with inadequate to non-existent public transport in most urban or suburban areas, respectively, which is not measured by its GDP. Additionally, the USA spends more per capita on its very expensive public education sector and public healthcare system, which is ranked the lowest amongst developed countries.

To some developing countries, quoting their GDP in PPP is like a flat chest duckling putting on pad bra—‘Norminal’ GDP has problem but PPP GDP is even worse.

–It doesn’t taking into account consumer pattern. I vividly remember Malla once said it only costed US\$85/month to hire a domestic in India. I think He meant 5000 rupees at the exchange rate then. Lets assume it has been increased to 6000 rupees (75rupee to 1 \$) by now. Sure great for higher income Indians but what can the domestic do with 6000 rupees/US 83.3 per month ? Some important facts:
–Developed countries(of which USA is a good example) usually have lower bulk food(like wheat, corn..)production cost than developing countries due to their more advanced agricultural tech and mechanization . (Deveolped Japan and developing Brazil are the exceptions). The poorer a country, the bigger % of household income are spent on food. Grain subsidies are big budget burden in India.
–Electronic gadgets(of same specs), hydrocarbon fuels… are more expensive in India (due to tax&freight)
–Some people might quote the ‘Big Mac index’ but mind you Big Mac in India are chicken burgers which are world wide cheaper than beef Big Mac.
–Though with low labor cost, Indians aren’t efficient in low/zero tech production, like incense sticks: https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/economy/foreign-trade/government-in-huddle-as-fragrance-of-chinese-agarbattis-spreads-far-and-wide/articleshow/70885500.cms?from=mdr

Please see “Illegal Wars: The New American Way.” By Maj. Danny Sjursen, USA (ret.), AntiWar.com, 3/24/18 :

Despite 17 years of fighting, dying and killing, there have been no specific declarations of war. Instead, one president after another, and hundreds of derelict-in-their-duty congress members, have simply decided on their own that a vague resolution, rubber-stamped while the rubble in New York was still smoking, authorizes each and every conflict in which America’s soldiers – and many more civilians – continue to die. This AUMF authorized the president to kill or capture those who perpetrated the 9/11 attacks, but, well, few of America’s current adversaries had anything to do with that.

Also, please see “September 14, 2001: The Day America Became Israel.” By Danny Sjursen, Antiwar.com, 9/18/20:

In the nearly two decades since its passing, the AUMF has been cited at least 41 times in some 17 countries and on the high seas. The specified nations-states included Afghanistan, Cuba (Guantanamo Bay), Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Georgia, Iraq, Kenya, Libya, Philippines, Somalia, Syria, Yemen, Jordan, Turkey, Niger, Cameroon, and the broader African “Sahel Region” – which presumably also covers the unnamed, but real, US troop presence in Nigeria, Chad and Mali.

The AUMF is not, of course, something pursuant to international law but still all this is patently illegal activity by the US. The claim that Iraq and Afghanistan could be attacked as some aspect of self defense is laughable and, if anything, the supposed casus belli in each case was done and done. Nothing prevented the U.S. from taking its case to the Security Council but instead it chose the Lone Ranger option. There is no exception in the U.N. Charter for unilateral bandido actions to put a stop to nuclear proliferation or exact revenge on tiny groups of non-state actors whose connection to their host government(s) is vaporous at best.

Clearly, the U.S. was outraged by 9/11 and a bunch of *** ****** lawyers were sure as hell not going to spoil the party.

And Mau Mau was a movement of Kikuyu and a few other tribes, most Kenyan tribes were not involved. They killed more black kenyans than Whites BTW.
Read Dr. Bethwell Allan Ogot, a black Kenyan historian about the true ghastly face of Mau Mau for once. The Mau Mau were slashing apart pregnant women’s bellies. Anti-colonial leader Jomo Kenyatta himself said that Mau Mau were a disease. The real reprisals picked up after the massacre by the Mau Mau of loyalist black africans along with operation anvil.
On May 21st Churchill said: “care should be taken to avoid the simultaneous execution of any large number of persons who might be sentenced to death by [Kenyan] courts. Public opinion in this country would be critical of anything resembling mass executions.” Colonial Secretary Oliver Lyttleton replied that “there would be no question of executing anyone who had not been tried and convicted on a capital charge by due process of law.”

Several younger men had put points to me after I had spoken, fair enough points in their way, but considered impertinent by Kasina. Finally he lost his patience and leapt up beside me, and, in his curiously high pitched voice, said: “Do you know what Uhuru is? I’ll tell you what Uhuru is. When I was young there were those of the Akamba who still remembered Arab slave raiders. The British came and stopped that. I remember as a boy the Maasai raiding our land to try to take our cattle. Then the British came and stopped the tribes from fighting each other. The Kikuyu, Embu, and Meru combined and caused the barbarous Mau Mau rebellion. The British stopped that. The British brought us education, showed us how to improve the use of our land, brought us water supplies, and much else. What did we do for the British? We gave them Askaris for the KAR and the Kenya police. We fought for them as our friends in their wars. We can be proud of that. Today we have peace and improving conditions. Do you see that? the Germans were able to knock the Russians out of WW1

If my memory is correct, didn’t the Russians decide to leave the war because of the successful revolution? Where the future communists claimed that the proletariat had no part in these senseless wars, and that “all wars were banker’s wars”. They saw the wars as being between the ruling classes of their respective countries, who somehow got the common people to become the cannon fodder.

if not for the entry of the US and its fresh troops, Germany could have prevailed on the Western Front

Actually, it was the Red Army that broke the back of the Wehrmacht, the turning point being Stalingrad, early 1943….two years before the US entry into the war.

It is sad that Westerners in general do not give the Russians their due recognition of their part in the war.
8 out of 10 German casualties in WW2 were from fighting the Soviets.
The Soviets lost 27 Million people in that conflict, 15% of their population.

China’s densely populated areas are likely to leak some illegal immigrants into the adjoining Russia; this is a likelihood, if China does not ooze itself into Australia or Africa. Already there are reports of Chinese settlers in the Far Eastern Russian provinces; their status is not known (legal, semi-legal, illegal). Some day these settlers may be the source of headaches for Russia. Russia has managed to keep many people under control – Turks, Mongols, etc. But whether it can “absorb” Chinese into its fold is not clear.

Right now Russia has advantages in weaponry; but such advantages are eventually dependent on the economic might, which China possesses in abundance, compared with Russia and India. Therefore China may close the gap in weaponry between itself and Russia, in due course. Then the only parameter would be who can mobilize the bigger army.

As for India, it is at distinct disadvantage in economic might compared with China.

    Therefore a possible equation is,

Chinese military might + economic might + population = Russian military might + Indian population (but economic might is still missing)

    brown = Hindu?

“Hindu” is a generic term to cover all the non-Christian, non-Muslim Indian population (though Sikhism, Buddhism and Jainism are recognized as distinct and separate religions, the same Hindu Code is applicable to them, too; therefore legally Hindu is an Indian who is not a Christian, Muslim (or Jew, I must add; there is a minuscule population). People say that Russia is hedging India against China. But that is nonsense.

Agreed. All I am saying is, if serious differences appear in the Russia – China friendship, then Russia has a potential ally in India. The next rulers of China and Russia may have different views.

My point being – Russia does not appear to be trying to play the “divide and rule” that the west does. Witness both Pakistan and India being admitted to the SCO at the same time.

Again agreed. USSR was the intermediary in the 1965 Tashkent Agreement between India and Pakistan after their brief war. In those days, Pakistan had not yet become an American pet (I am averse to the commonly used word to describe this position).

When India and China fought in the 1960’s China openly told the Soviets they would fight a 2 front war against them if they had to (China and the Soviets fought a border war shortly after anyway) since they knew the Soviets were allies of India.

I doubt that. After the brief Chinese incursion, India sought the protection of Britain and America, not USSR; its friendship with USSR was not yet that binding (as it was in 1971, when Soviets sent their navy to counter the American Seventh Fleet, which Nixon sent to the Bay of Bengal to scare Indira Gandhi). I don’t know If Chinese expected a second front with the USSR at that time. It was a time when there was a trilateral power game – USA, USSR and China.

Actually, it is the collapse of the power those old Classical liberal Anglophile elites which has caused the situation as it is now and the rise of Juduo-phillic Hindutvas. India was more united when the Britishness was stronger in India.

Nescafe Instant Ice Shake Advert, India, 1988
Check out the old advert, you can clearly see the British influence which was stronger before 1990s after which American influence increased. Before 1990s, Socialist India was stuck in a time capsule.
Same with Pakistan. When Anglophone Ayub Khan ran Pakistan, Pakistan was modernising very well and quite secular. Ayub Khan had passed out of the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, England and had become a Major in Punjab Regiment of the British Indian Army (in between he was also attached to the Royal Fusiliers)
Later Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, introduced more Islamisation and we can see the results in Pakistan even today. India is going in the same direction but only delayed as Hindu fundamentalism takes more time to become popular among the more naturally tolerant Hindus.

Modi’s real war is against India’s English-speaking elite : Aatish Taseer
It is not Hindus Vs Muslims, Muslims do not really matter that much in India. The real war is inbetween the Old English speaking Anglophile elites vs the new rising Hindutvas. The Old elites are the real threat to the popular mass movement Hindutvas and they were very secular and protected minorities like Muslims, continuing the tradition of the British Raj of old.
Those old Indian classical liberal Anglophone elites are called “Macaulay’s Children” by Hindutvas because Babington Macaulay, a classical Whig introduced Western Liberal education into India. Dr. Ambedkar, leader of lower caste people and the author of Indian constitution had warned that prematurely exiting the British Empire until the population gets more liberal in mentality would be a disaster for Indian subcontinent in the long term and centrifugal forces will rip the subcontinent apart. According to Ambedkar a mix of Buddhism + Liberal Anglo values was the best solution for the Indian subcontinent as both the ancient Buddhist period and British periods were the golden ages of India compared to Hindu Brahmanical and Islamic periods. But because of Stooopid Marxist crackpots (who thought they would gain power in India) and reactionary mediaeval forces, as well as stoopid WW1 & WW2, and stoopid USA & USSR, and Britain itself turning Cultural Marxist (collapse of civilized Baroque/Victorian era culture), British Empire ended too prematurely and now we see the negative results in India, Pakistan and the whole subcontinent. Even Africa, Shiva Naipaul, in his book on Africa (North to South: African Journey), wrote that Africa is a place full of aborted European civilizations. Aborted prematurely is what causes the problems.

    Good analysis, Lin.

only costed US\$85/month to hire a domestic in India. I think He meant 5000 rupees at

Actually, you can get a domestic help for just Rs 1200/month, here in Delhi. For washing cloths, washing utensils, sweeping + mopping (most of them use the old rag system but if you have a mop, they charge you a bit less). We assumes, she works in 5 to 6 households in her daily timetable but zero holidays. So it would be roughly 6000 odd Rs/month. But remember, this is the woman of the household’s earning. Her husband would earn far more. If he is a skilled labourer in some factory, he could make Rs 30000/- a month.
Cost of living in India is cheaper. Even Africans students consider the cost of living in India, cheaper than back home.

Check from 2:19 to 7:12 minutes minutes in above video form a guy from Congo. he speaks about how cheap everything is to live a comfortable life. This is even though there has been a lot of inflation lately. From 7:12 to 3:38, he says how self reliant India is, India makes nearly everything it wants for its own markets, atleast compared to Africa.
India before the British Empire had low per capita income but also low cost of grain because India was a great bread basket. Indian wages on silver standard was 20% of British wages in about 1780s etc.. but 70% of British wages on grain standard. Nothing has changed even today, only that the per capita GDP gap in between Britain and India has actually increased enormously after 1947/1950 i.e. India leaving the British Empire. After giving independence to India/Pakistan, Britain became relatively much much richer. And that is the same story in between Western Europe and the Third World after decolonisation.

Indeed the US has reaped for Afghanistan and continues to. The financing for 9/11 was not in Afghanistan— neither was the planning — and none of the hijackers were Afghans – yet they invade Afghanistan supposedly to get one guy who was by that time basically a figure head. But yeah taking the money from starving people will bring another reaping. It’s just sad that people think they can do evil and their be no punishment … but that’s what happens when you think you are better than others

  173. @Lin

Food production in the US is heavily subsidized. That is a political function rather than economic. There is no perfect measure… But PPP is absolutely a better way to measure actual goods and services in an economy – but not perfect either. A heavily financial economy will for instance show higher per capita nominal GDP than one based on production. But Germany has a higher average quality of life than the US does (attainable healthcare – transportation- education – safety of the average citizens) . There are different variables involved. I don’t know much about India’s economy and how things work on the ground – so I won’t comment. But you can measure things like hunger index or the amount of cars sold per capita to compare to smaller peers like Indonesia or even Bangladesh. But if we are talking about all goods and services in an economy – there is no way England has a larger economy than India. So PPP is absolutely a better measure to compare the two. But most people would say they would want to have Englands economy… But if there were only 3 countries in the world and you were one and you had to choose only England (just the country and not the empire) or India to trade with – there is no sensible business person who would choose England overall. India is the far larger market and has far larger potential. Likewise if you had to choose between Russia and England. All the silly talk of Russia being a smaller economy than California and Texas is plain folly. Russia can produce things and has far more resources (and a bigger actual consumer market) than both of those states. So in comparing Russia to England or to California or to Texas – PPP doesn’t consider all the factors but it is far more “honest” than nominal GDP.

    A few more points:
Bharat is an ancient civilization, YES..but as a bigger/unified political entity with a central gov, it’s a juvenile and an emotional one at that. What I think indian should do is realizing india’s strength and weakness and work out a long range plan, like…
–India has more arable land, more water and is warmer than china but yet India only produces about half of china’s grain output. China imports about 100 million tons of soy(from US, brazil..) mainly for making husbandry fodder. Giving hindu vegetarian diet, India can become a very big food exporter if they can increase farm productivity. The best example is Holand which has high popn density but yet is also a big food exporter.
–Un(/der)employment is india’s biggest problem, automation/robotics except when demanded by mechanical precision is detrimental to India society until indian wages exceed a certain threshold

The revolution in Russia hastened their defeat against Germany in WW1, but the Germans were winning in the field when Russia withdrew from the war. The Americans entered the 2nd world war at the end of 1941, not 43 and were instrumental in tying up many German troops in N Africa and Western Europe which was a very big advantage for the Soviets. Stalingrad was lost by Der Fuhrer’s stubbornness and refusal to listen to his field commanders. The Eastern Front was lost because Mr Hitler refused to pull the troops out of the trap before it was too late. Most students of WW2 are well aware of the Soviet contribution, and I’ve never met a serious person who doesn’t give them a lot of the credit. Had Germany been able to fight a one front war, they might still have statues of Uncle Dolfie in Berlin today. Both sides did their job.

Amritsar? I have written about it often to debunk bullshit lies. The truth is it happened during close to WW1 when the British+French+Russian Empire was pitted against the German+Austria+Ottoman Empires. Both sides were trying to destroy each other’s Empires. The Ottomans decided because their Emperor was Caliph of all Islam, they would send agents to the British Empire (India, Egypt), French Empire (North Africa) and Russian Empire (Central Asia) to rile up the Muslims in revolt. This led to the Khalifat (Caliph) anti-British movement in India which was supposedly anti-British but turned anti-Hindu. lower class Mopplah muslims were told that “Britain was losing the war” and the “British were losing control of India” by Ottoman agents. The Muslims there thought “well , this means we create our pure Islamic State”. Then “why do we tolerate these idol worshiping Hindu monkeys in our islamic pure land?” That gave rise to an anit-Hindu butchery. Hindus in South India were butchered and killed with glee. Hindu women disappeared into Muslim areas, never to be seen, wells full of dead Hindu bodies and the like. The incident directly gave rise to the Hindutva RSS in response, and now the Hindutva RSS rules India as it is the ideological branch of the BJP, running India today. If the British government would have used heavy force in South India as they used in Punjab Amritsar, this Mopplah massacre could have been averted and Hindu-Muslim fractures prevented. The idiotic Ottomans had no idea about the complexity of India which the British skillfully managed, they lit the fuse in the powder keg which was to change the Indian subcontinent forever.
The Germans (and even Austrians upto some extent) joined hands and instigated Hindu revolutionaries against the British. The famous Hindu-German conspiracy whose trials even took place in the USA. Colonel Dyer was earlier posted in Balochistan-Iran border areas of the British Empire. At the edge of the British Empire, there were a series of Imperial posts guarding the Empire’s frontiers. German agents had infiltrated the place and many local Baloch tribes had sweared loyalty to the German Kaiser and had started attacking and raiding the British Empire frontier posts. Dyer had single handedly (with his English working class Driver) turned the situation around but he got help from loyal warrior Baloch tribes like the Chagai, tribes who still swore fealty to the King Emperor of the British Empire.
Some of those German agents had infiltrated the Punjab, and there were many riots in the Punjab.
Also the crackpot Zio Theosophical Society which came from the West was working in India to stop positive Westernisation of India as well as to stop Christian missionaries. A Punjabi Brahmin Dayanand Saraswati was highly influenced by them, he was even member of the society. As a Brahmin he was pissed that the British barbarians had achieves so much in technology and civilization and he started his Arya Samaj to reform Hinduism but in reality started attacking Islam, Christianity, Buddhism and Jainism. He made all kind of Wakanda claims of ancient Hindu technology and all that. His teachings combined with the work of the Kaiserite German agents gave rise to riots in the Punjab. Shops and Banks were looted, there was a serious law and order problem. Dyer knew about all this German influence and he had ordered a curfew. The Amritsar incident brought peace to the region. Gandhi and Anne Besant (Theosophists) suddenly shat in their pants and started praising the British Raj Government. But in came the Jewish Secretary of State for India, Montague who openly stated that the British government will itself rouse India out of its pathetic contentness and create nationalistic disturbance!!! He screwed Dyer. Churchill also screwed Reginald Dyer for reasons of morality. However Dyer was thanked by the law abiding people of amritsar and Sikhs even made him an honourary Sikh and as the Afghans were attacking (Third Anglo-Afghan War, Afghanistan secretly armed by Ottoman and Kaiserite German Empire) the British Empire, the Sikhs asked Dyer to lead them to battle so that they could kill many “hated” Afghans.
But this was to bite Punjab in the back. The Amritsar incident put a lot of restrictions on the civilian actins of the Army. So when India became independent and was divided into India and Pakistan, many massacres of Hindus and Sikhs by Muslim mobs as well as massacre of Muslim by Hindu+Sikh mobs took place. The Army could not do much because of restrictions put in place after the Amritsar fiasco. Thus millions died, which could have been prevented.

Literally, nobody in India cares about the Queen. Protocols during the 2010 Commonwealth games were an example of that.

Indians play Cricket because it is fun and interesting. Unlike, say China where the two major sports are Basketball and Football, India has its own indigenous sport as its no. 2 sport. Kabaddi has become professionalized in recent years and has a major following in India. I can’t think of many other countries where an indigenous sport has become professionalized maybe except Sumo in Japan.

If you follow the recent events, you would know that India canceled a British delegation that was to visit India and engage in empty moral sermonising. At the same time, they welcomed the Chinese FM. This should make India’s stance clear.

“A heavily financial economy”vs production economy and nominal GDP vs PPP GDP are 2 separate issues.
The 1st issue has to do with methodology of GDP calculation. Here’s an example: Even if a retired American has little income, his home(mortage paid) provides him/her ‘income’ in the form of ‘housing’ to certain % of the market value of his home. In china, that’s a certain % of the construction cost instead. I doubt the Chinese gov treats ‘finance engineering’ contribution to GDP the way the Americans do
Another point is that PPP GDP is fuzzy and often incomparable nation to nation. There’re no such currencies such as PPP\$, PPP Euro, PPP yuan…, particularly we live in an interactive world, many things are supposed to be exchangeable.
Lets say a 3rd worlder makes US\$250/month and he/she was told that’s equivalent to \$1000 PPP; could he/she buy a laptop computer with that \$1000 PPP?
–Sure there’re some exceptional case like the Russian GDP but in general that doesn’t apply. Some years ago, I read from a hindu nationalist site that chicken meat are more expensive in india than in USA

Food production in the US is heavily subsidized

China is more sensitive regarding food production/security & subsidized agriculture more than US

“Lets say a 3rd worlder makes US\$250/month and he/she was told that’s equivalent to \$1000 PPP; could he/she buy a laptop computer with that \$1000 PPP?”

There are lots of things involved in that. 1) is that person using a credit card or cash to pay for that laptop… 2) what is their cost of living. what percentage of their income do they pay for transport and healthcare and
China compared to the US is a perfect example. WAYYY more cars and laptops and smartphones are sold in China than in the US – even though based on nominal GDP – the US is supposed to be bigger. Just because you can sell an Iphone for a vastly overpriced profit than you can sell a smartphone in India matters to Apple shareholders – but not to the people in India who are happy with their lower cost phone. They can use the internet and don’t necessarily care what the graphics on the latest game will look.
On the flip side – you hear arguments of people saying “oh well China spends much more than what they say on the military – if you measure by purchasing power – they spend \$600 billion – which is almost as much as the US”. That is true… But those same people will never talk about how when it comes to R&D spending that means China spends far more than the US now…. It also means China’s economy is much larger than the US. So see someone can make numbers say what they want. The same way China can produce and acquire more jets in their budget than the US can – well engineers and other research costs in US dollars are much lower in China than in the US.

A similar thing with the graph you noted on agriculture subsidy. I would have to see what the parameters are listed under that ‘star’. I would have to see exactly what and how they measure.

Compared to the supreme civilization of Bharata? It is mind boggling people could make such a crazy choice!! No, the Muslim evils will have to go, we will make them go eventually, even of it takes centuries to attain it. All our ancestors who were enslaved, raped, killed by the Muslim evils, it is for their memory, for their honour, for their immense suffering. We the children of Bharata, children of the oldest continues civilization on Earth, we have to do it. We have no option. Bharata, Indic civilization is finally rising after 1000 years of slavery (Muslim evils+British thief+Congress traitors). We have been too kind in the past, others have taken advantage of it. Not any more. The filthy traitor whore Muslim evils have to go. Unless this deed is done, there will never be peace. And we want peace, our Civilization values teach peace.

Most students of WW2 are well aware of the Soviet contribution, and I’ve never met a serious person who doesn’t give them a lot of the credit.

And I take my hat off to these gentlemen.
However from my experience, they are unfortunately no more than 5% of the Western population.

Hence the oft heard refrain in an American accent “if my granddaddy hadn’t saved your sorry European butts, you would be speaking German now.”.

To that, I have often felt compelled to reply “actually not. They would be speaking Russian”. And almost invariably, the commentor would get his panties in a twist. (forgive me, but I do love these colourful American expressions). No doubt they were offended because what I revealed to them contrasted with what Hollywood has been telling them since birth.

“A heavily financial economy”vs production economy and nominal GDP vs PPP GDP are 2 separate issues.

    ??
    Chinese GDP in 2021 = 114.367 trillion Yuan = US\$17.73 – 18 trillion(depends on the exchange rate used)
    US GDP in 2021 = US\$23 trillion.
I’m not arguing which GDP/economy is bigger because:
1)We don’t know enough of Chinese GDP calculation methodology.
2)I’m not an insecure duckling who wants to PPP the GDP or wear a padded bra to look ‘bigger’
    ….
I want to point out PPP GDP is more problematic than nominal GDP because it ignore consumer pattern… You speak your narrative:

Just because you can sell an Iphone for a vastly overpriced profit than you can sell a smartphone in India matters to Apple shareholders – but not to the people in India who are happy with their lower cost phone.

–Do the cheaper phone/laptops(with i-3 cpu) the Indians can afford have the same specs/customer satisfaction as the more expensive iPhone/laptops(i-7 cpu, fast graphic card, 1T nvme SSD..) the americans can afford?

That’s what I meant by the quality of its GDP which is moving towards a ‘green’ economy with less energy-intensive and more knowledge-based industries in the future.

Okay, but achieving that “green” economy goal is still far off in the distance/future, IMHO, and in the process of having achieved to grow the Chinese economy and Chinese middle class over the last decades, China and Chinese citizens have paid a high environmental and quality of life cost/price for that. China was a much “greener” economy and land 30 or 40 years ago, and all the “greening” they have already or are planning to do is just reversing or slowing down the ecological and environmental damage they have done/caused over the last 20+ years especially. I don’t know if one can really call that “quality” progress…

These improvements in air quality are most likely the result of the country’s strong measures to reduce pollution, including establishing clean air regulations, curtailing coal-burning power plants, and reducing the number of cars on the road. Nonetheless, much more must be done, given that China’s PM2.5 level in 2016 was still two-fifths higher than the global average for that same level of income (56 micrograms at GDP per capita US\$ 7,000).

I don’t disagree on that; my point is there’s certainly a specs gap between those cheaper ones and the more expensive ones the yanks can afford. Those chinese phones are made for a certain segment of consumer pattern.
I have a no. of laptops; A laptop with 8 core cpu, 2T nvme, bright fast refreshing screen is definitely better than a less equipped one. It’s wrong to attribute the same PPP GDP to the 2 just because the poorer novice consumers are happy with access to computing power for the first time.

China had to absorb those environmental costs to develop its infrastructure which required massive amounts of energy inputs. But as China builds out its infrastructure for what remains of its rural population, then its environmental costs per unit of GDP are expected to decline dramatically sometime after 2030. Simply put, less construction means less cement, less steel, less energy, less carbon, etc. That’s why China is actively relocating its ‘smokestack’ industries to other developing countries which need those steel mills that are no longer needed in China as its infrastructure industries decline dramatically in the next decade.

“Closer examination reveals that China’s air pollution levels peaked around 2010 and have modestly decreased since then. These improvements in air quality are most likely the result of the country’s strong measures to reduce pollution, including establishing clean air regulations, curtailing coal-burning power plants, and reducing the number of cars on the road. PM2.5 measures air pollution but not carbon intensity which is measured by CO2 emissions. So a natural gas power plant will have very little PM2.5 air pollution but still emit CO2 into the atmosphere. Using natural gas reduces PM2.5 air pollution but does not reduce carbon intensity which requires alternative non-carbon energy sources such as wind, nuclear, solar, biomass, hydro, etc. Those two distinct issues have to be addressed separately.

China’s ‘green’ transport policy seeks to promote electric-powered public transport and phase out gas-powered vehicles by 2050. That would dramatically alter the current paradigm of the carbon-intensive gas-powered private transport system which has contributed to carbon intensity, traffic congestion and air pollution in the transport industry. Not only would that lead to a dramatic decline in air pollution and traffic congestion but also contribute to a ‘greener’ economy by eliminating the need for private transport, thus reducing the number of private vehicles.

Outside its infrastructure and transport industries, China is restructuring its economy away from carbon-intensive manufacturing industries such as gas autos, and towards carbon-neutral ‘green’ industries in the technology and services sector such as biotech and healthcare.

⁹I am an Indian living in Mumbai, working in the film industry.
Indians are obsessed with Pakis and by that I mean the general masses. This is observed by many people and I’ve had many discussions on this. It’s like some kind of weird flex….say something bad about india and the Indian assumes the other person is Pakistani. Like they can’t fathom the thought that an Indian can criticize their own country. This inward looking, juvenile self obsession is the reason india has always been invaded and taken over. All over Twitter all I see is Indians obsessed with shoving india down the world’s throat. Zero capability to introspect, combined with a delusional obsession of believing India is some kind of power. Now, Pakis probably aren’t any different (pretty much the same people genetically) and we only see so many Indians because of the massive population but still…..everyone observes this. Indians have a weird obsession with China and Pakistan and the West. Hey don’t come at me….you can look and judge yourself.

Regarding the film numbers again….I cannot trust anything that comes out of Indian sources. You sound like those clowns on YouTube who go around posting “Shah Rukh Khan” is the 2nd richest actor in the world, just to make themselves feel better. Besides, you posted production costs which are still miniscule compared to American films where, as you probably know, 100 million is considered mid range. Indian films simply lack the technical elements to be well received by a mature audience, not to mention shoving in melodrama and sentimentality. They could make great films….they clearly have the stories and locations but….I doubt the talent is there to be honest.
Regional cinema is far better and should be championed over pathetic Bollywood.

    Indians don’t hate the whites.

That depends upon Indians. Indians like White people, they are friendlier to White tourists (and maybe East Asians) but also try to rip them foreign tourists off by over charging. But most Indians living in the West hate White people. But this is true for nearly all non whites. White people (and Japanese) tend to have a good reputation. With a few asshole exceptions they are considered nicer and more generous than Indian tourists who haggle all the time. of course, most goans dislike blacks (all blacks are considered Nigerians) because of of them behave like assholes and try to dominate the local Indians in a thuggish way. One Goan told me, the “Nigerians” behave as if they are the “natives of Goa” and the native Goans are the “foreigners”. Now you can do that in some guilt ridden Whitey country, you do not make that mistake in India with Indians. Nooo Noo Noo. Hence the anti-black outbursts which took place in Goa some years back from Goan villagers. Poor villagers beat up Africans and all that.

And Indians sure as hell don’t hate the Russians.

I agree, Indians tend to be Russophile that is why the reaction I saw was surprising.

I have been to Goa too and the locals are fond of Russians

Well some Goans have told me that unlike the Western Whites, Russians/Belarussians etc.. tend to do everything themselves like make their own food, have their own taxi systems if possible. This means less money for the local Goans/Maharashtrians who now a days want to squeeze maximum money from tourists.
Goa is also full of Israelis now a days, especially North Goa. Goans are scared of them because they even out haggle Indians, which is no joke, many a Indian traders sell their goods with no profits with tears in their eyes due to predatory haggling psychological pressure from Israelis. Goans say, Israelis look like White people but behave like Arabs. Most of them, ex-IDF soldiers. In some beaches in Northern Goa the Israelis even treat the local Goans as a permanent slave race to serve them.
Anyways the North is saturated, the best part of Goa, if you want peace more than parties, is the Southern part now.

A lot of Africans come as students and stay over.

There are some genuine African students but many are just using student visas to get into the country. In fact many of these African criminals/students are syndicated and before going to study overseas are put through courses run by the syndicates to teach them all the ins and outs of the scams and crimes they will carry out overseas and prepare them for their entry level positions in the international African crime syndicates. It’s all very organised and professional, as professional as something run by African criminals can be. Even many of the genuine students who attend courses, take exams and graduate, and many who then go on to do higher degrees at universities throughout the world do this in parallel with their criminal activities and as they rise in the academic or professional world they also rise in their criminal syndicates. I have known many such Africans and if you scour the press you will find cases when some such higher up African professional with postgraduate degrees is uncovered for running a huge international criminal operation although it is usually the foot-soldiers who are arrested and languish in jails throughout the world. But the syndicates do take care of them even when they are jailed as obviously their own embassies don’t bother to assist them.
