When Trump first made his statements about how the Ukraine should be forced to give America their rare earth minerals, it sounded to some like he was saying “we’ll keep sending you weapons if you start paying for them.” And that is how Zelensky seemed to interpret it.
However, it sounded to me like Trump was saying “give us that shit for all the money we already gave you.”
Trump has clarified that this is what he means. He’s not offering the Ukraine more money, he’s just demanding the US get paid.

US President Donald Trump has said he wants to secure a deal with Kiev to ensure Washington gets its money back by trading aid for Ukraine’s rare-earth minerals – regardless of whether “they may be Russian someday.”
In an interview with Fox News’ Bret Baier, Trump claimed that “the United States is in for more than $300 billion, probably 350” in various forms of aid to Ukraine, adding that it would be “stupid” for Washington to continue bankrolling Kiev without receiving anything in return.
“I want to have our money secured because we’re spending hundreds of billions of dollars,” he said. “They have tremendously valuable land in terms of rare earth, in terms of oil and gas, in terms of other things.”
“I told them that I want the equivalent, like $500 billion worth of rare earths, and they’ve essentially agreed to do that,” Trump stated. “So at least we don’t feel stupid. Otherwise, we’re stupid. I said to them, we have to get something.”
“You know, they may make a deal, they may not make a deal, they may be Russian someday, or they may not be Russian someday, but we’re gonna have all this money in there, and I say, I want it back,” he added.
He sounds like he’s talking about the whole country becoming Russia again, which is funny.
That should happen, even though Russia doesn’t have any interest in trying to sheep-herd those morons in the west of the country.
Kiev still has quite a few deposits of these rare earths.
Trump should just sign the deal with Putin, giving him the east of the country, then go in and strip mine the other half of the country for payback. No one will be able to say he lost in this case.

Then let Blackrock demilitarize and denazify Ukraine by working the remaining hohols to death 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., 7 days per week, everyone aged from 5 to 199. America’s billionaires get their money, Russian-speaking population gets reunited with Russia and the hohol slave race gets exterminated. A win-win for all.

2) Pass legislation (or cite alleged tort case law precedents) in the U.S. and its vassal the EU to authorize the “legal” outright looting of Russian foreign reserve assets (i.e., looting the principal, not just looting the interest) as alleged “compensation” for the alleged “loss” of the aforesaid subsurface mineral rights.

Trump is so crass — talking about recovering minerals from Ukraine while there is still an ongoing conflict that has killed hundreds of thousands (which he repeatedly promised to end in one day, the fucking clown) — I’ve said he has the intellectual and emotional maturity of a junior highschooler, but now I’m not sure he reaches even that level.
And tariffs cannot make ‘America rich again’ — tariffs can be useful if you want to protect your own industries while they develop and become competitive; South Korea is perhaps the best example of this in the post-WWII era.
But after decades of ‘free trade’ that gutted US manufacturing and resulted in millions of jobs disappearing (‘Rust Belt’, ‘deaths of despair’), the US does not have the capacity to replace imports lost via tariffs, and there is no development program to increase output and efficiency in those industries — so in the short term, life for Americans will just be made more expensive.
But I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised — there is so much low quality human capital in the US today, it should be expected that the politicians will reflect this.
The decline of America has been sad to observe and is difficult to accept.

A person really has to go out of his or her way in order to believe that Kursk is NOT a meat grinder and that, to the contrary, the Russians are doing their military best to expel Ukrainian soldiers from Russia and failing.
I hate to say it, but I agree. I’m old enough to remember 1960’s and 1970’s California: the quality of the schools, the people, the raw beauty of its open, natural, spaces. It was GREAT. And now so much of it is gone.
There are people who should be hanged for what they did to California and, to a lesser extent, the United States. And I mean strung up from lampposts and stoplights, like the Taliban does to their traitors.
