Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's stance on elections amid the ongoing conflict with Russia further complicates the discourse on democracy. Zelensky has asserted that holding elections during wartime would not only be detrimental to Ukraine but also serve Russia’s interests. In a recent interview, he expressed that the current martial law prohibits elections, arguing that lifting it would jeopardize the Ukrainian military's capacity to defend against Russian aggression. He claims widespread domestic opposition to elections, suggesting that the populace is unified in supporting his leadership during the conflict. This narrative positions Zelensky as a protector of national unity against perceived Russian destabilization efforts.
The implications of elections during wartime reveal a deeper tension in Ukrainian politics. Zelensky's refusal to hold elections could be interpreted as a way to maintain his power and avoid potential electoral loss, which could hinder ongoing military efforts. The speaker notes that many Ukrainians support Zelensky, particularly in the context of the war, suggesting that the fear of losing electoral legitimacy might deter him from allowing a vote. This sentiment reflects a broader critique of political maneuvering that prioritizes the retention of power over democratic processes, raising questions about the validity of leadership derived from wartime circumstances.
The conversation culminates with a critique of the expectations placed on Zelensky by figures such as former U.S. President Donald Trump, who has suggested that Ukraine should proceed with elections imminently. The speaker implies that Trump’s push for elections is driven by a desire to create a political landscape in Ukraine that would favor an end to the conflict, thus serving as a referendum against the war. Furthermore, the assertion that Zelensky may lack legal standing as the country's leader to negotiate peace underscores the complexities of governance during wartime. The overarching sentiment reflects skepticism about the genuine commitment to democratic principles in the context of international relations, suggesting that the pursuit of democracy is often entangled with strategic interests rather than being an unyielding principle.

Let’s work through the reasoning here. Let’s try and figure it.
Democracy values are not just elections, but free and fair elections. That means that a US-backed candidate, in league with the National Endowment for Democracy and USAID (CIA) must be allowed to run and if he doesn’t win it’s not a free and fair election. If a country is not a democracy, it is an enemy of the United States, and is therefore subject to sanctions and wars.
For example, the 2024 Russian election was not free and fair, because the neo-Nazi and cosmetics fraud artist Alexi Navalny, a CIA asset, was not allowed to run in the election. With a record 77% voter turnout, Putin won 88% of the vote, but that is meaningless. If Trump had been banned from running in the 2024 election, 77% of the population would have turned out to vote and 88% would have voted for Kamala Harris. But Trump was allowed to run even though he attacked our democracy worse than the Civil War because of our values, so only 59% of people turned out to vote, and only 48% voted for Kamala, because Alexi Navalny wasn’t on that ballot either.
However, if Russia wants you to have an election, and you cancel elections, you are doing democracy because Russia is against democracy, and therefore if they want you to have an election, they are using elections to prevent democracy.
It’s all very simple.
RT:
Holding a vote amid the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine would spell a disaster for Kiev for a large number of reasons ranging from popular disapproval to literally “losing” its Armed Forces, Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky claimed this week.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump’s special envoy for the Ukraine conflict, Keith Kellogg, stated that Washington would like to see Kiev holding presidential and parliamentary votes before the end of the year. Zelensky had previously suspended both elections indefinitely, citing the martial law.
Elections in Ukraine at a time like this would only benefit Russia, the Ukrainian leader claimed in an interview with the ITV News broadcaster. “The topic of elections has been brought up by Russians,” he stated.
…
In his interview, Zelensky still maintained that Russia only wanted to see elections in Ukraine to bring about “destabilization” to its neighbor. He also claimed that Ukrainians themselves do not want to any vote while he himself was “absolutely not afraid of them.” “During this war, our population is against elections, all people are against it,” he stated.
According to the Ukrainian leader, holding an election would require the Ukrainian government to lift martial law as no voting is allowed as long as one is in place. “If we suspend the martial law we will lose our army,” he said, adding that Kiev would not be able to make the troops stay on the frontlines otherwise.
He’s right. People hate elections. All of the people in the Ukraine are against elections, because they support Zelensky and his endless war to ethnically cleanse the Former Territory of the Eastern Ukraine, because they fear he would lose the election and it could amazing end this war which has helped the Ukraine so much.
It’s known well by Zelensky that all people in the country support him. So what would be the point of having an election, when he could lose and voters could overturn the will of the people?
Elections are straight out of the Kremlin playbook.
Last night, a sweet piece of ass with a tasty set of cans told Andy Reid to play straight out of the Kremlin playbook, and he was like “you got it, toots, now go ahead and wiggle that thang at me.” You saw how that turned out. Reflecting after the game, Reid paraphrased Sam Spade: “out of all the playbooks in all the cabinets in the world, she hands me the Kremlin playbook.”
The Ukraine is one of the happiest places on earth, because they know what they are doing is right. Once they finally take back this rural territory that is inhabited by Russians, which none of the soldiers fighting in the war have ever been to or ever even thought about before the US government ordered them to start attacking it, they will each reach self-actualization and potentially even transcend to a higher level of existence and become beings of pure light.
A being of pure light, living on the astral plane, doesn’t need elections.
And yet, page 327 of the Kremlin playbook states: “Ethereal beings living on the astral plane should be allowed to vote if it’s the law in their country that elections need to be held regularly. This is even true if they are ruled by the Maitria.”

It is unknown if Volomondorogor Zelensky is the Maitreya, but many astrological signs indicate he probably is. Yet, on page 741 of the Kremlin playbook, it states, “Vladimir Zelensky is probably not the Maitreya.” The playbook provides no evidence for the baseless and controversial claim.
But yeah, I mean, yo dog, I buried the lede.
The real story here is that, as I predicted, Trump is demanding Zelensky hold elections. He obviously can’t win, and would lose by a massive margin which would serve as a referendum on the war, showing that no one in the Ukraine wants this to keep going, which would be a mandate for Trump to force the country to end the war.
Furthermore, Russia is actually stating a matter of fact that because Zelensky has no legal status as the leader of the Ukraine, him signing a peace agreement doesn’t mean anything. To be clear, Russia is not saying this because they care about elections or try to force countries to honor the values of democracy. What Putin is saying is that because under Ukrainian law, Zelensky is not actually a valid leader of the country, if he signed a peace treaty it could be ignored by a future Ukrainian government because, they could say, Zelensky had no legal standing upon which to sign such a treaty.
Russia has said that they will talk to him, of course, but they are saying that they want someone who is legally the leader of the Ukraine to sign the deal so it can’t be later thrown out. If Zelensky changed the country’s constitution to make him leader for life, I think Russia would be fine signing an agreement with him.
I think Trump should put a better deadline on this than “by the end of the year,” however. It’s February. No one wants this to keep going for months. It’s time to wrap it up.

Amusing. Here’s another example of the same thought process.
When Ukraine was neutral and wasn’t trying to join NATO, Ukraine didn’t have a problem with Russia. But Ukraine had to abandon neutrality and move to join NATO and fight a brutal war with Russia, so they could have the deterrence to avoid fighting a war with Russia. And the NATO countries are clear that they don’t want Ukraine to join them, but insist that Ukraine fight Russia for the right to join NATO.
Maybe someone clever than I can find a better way to word this, but you get the idea.
Oyyyyy veh.
Pres Trump played like a song.
“Democracy is like a train: when you reach your destination, you get off” – Recep Tayyip Erdogan, current President of Turkey
I can’t believe Ukrainians were dumb enough to fall for Zelensky.
But then, we’ve been told Joe Biden got the most votes ever. What does that say about Americans?
Both peoples under Jewish media control.
Have there been assassination attempts on Zelensky? There was two on Trump.

The Z rat is sure punching above it’s weight and it shows on the evil murdering rat’s face. First time I heard it’s voice, very pushy, demanding, creepy, and bullshit. What about a case like this? There are so many Jewish players in this murder of hundreds of thousands of Christians on both sides! Christians have a right to call them out. Them and their proxy wars. Time for those to end too. This is the Democrat’s war.
I will
Your entire line of reasoning is false. There was nevr any expectation tha Ukraine fight Russia.
And no in Europe has attacjed Russia not had any desire to do so. Countries were benefitting from the peaceful coexistence

“Ukraine didn’t have a problem with Russia.”
Then you have no idea of the history after Ukraine was acknowkedged as sovereign by Russia and the global community.

It is silly to have elections if 20 pecent f your country is th enemies hands and your country is under invasion.
US government engineered the election of Zelenskyy through manipulation of Ukraine media and bribery. We will never know how much money US taxpayers spent on that little operation. That was the exact type of thing USAID was spending money on to promote and sustain the war in Ukraine the last few years. Meanwhile our own border was wide open and American citizens were shortchanged regarding government assistance needed due to natural disasters like the poor people in North Carolina suffered. We have the most corrupt government in the world also protected by our own corrupt Jew run media.
And you thought Zelensky is bad…
Kosher logic: Rabbi Zelensky doesn’t have to run for reelection until the war ends so he makes it illegal for his government to have peace talks with Russia.
That way the war never ends and he can be president for life.
while what you write is hilarious, you’re no elite comic, you’re an elite zato troll.
It’s normal for European countries to delay elections when under invasion.
Of course Anglin most likely knows that but like the MSM supports dishonesty when maintaining a narrative.
It’s nearly year 3 of the 2.5 week special operation and Russia is on video using donkeys:

Anglin you might want to consider the crazy possibility that the war isn’t going as planned.
When Ukraine was neutral and wasn’t trying to join NATO, Ukraine didn’t have a problem with Russia. But Ukraine had to abandon neutrality and move to join NATO
Zelensky defeated the pro-NATO candidate by running on a platform of neutrality.
He didn’t initiate the required referendum to join NATO and before the invasion both Germany and France were opposed.
Did you want to deny any of that?
opinion vary.
Have a counter contend you are free to make it.
And the candidate befre Pres Zelinsky was more pro NATO than he was. If in fact your suggestion is accurate, they would have engineered the previous candidate’s victory.
Your advocacy is nonsense. There was bever a threat from NATO or the EU and all the catterwauling minus a sgred of suppot won’t change that.
One of the sickest, most disgusting proofs that American-hating Jews own Congress was that standing ovation Congress gave that filthy little pig Zelensky. In one of Zelensky’s homo skits he fans his mouth apparently after simulating corprophagia and yet, or better yet because of it, kosher Fox News and others likened this pervert to George Washington and Napoleon. According to it may have been Politico or not, and as Voltaire presciently quipped, if you stinking American Christians want to know who rules over you, just ask the soles of whose shoes the members of Congress and media talking heads get down on their knees to kiss.
II can appreciate the opposition to the practice of same relational behavior, teaching it in school as normative, the overwrought use in civil rights ad social normalcy. No doubt its disturbing. But that is the business of Ukraine. Unless, you are suggesting that the US overtly engage in acts of violence against said conduct and subsequently war on the entire planet, including Russia, which has its own said population. Our executive in the WH does not oppose such conduct. They have not gone after said practicing women or men ad those that cross hit.
So the accusation as cause to support Russia’s invasion is simply dead in the water.
