When you hear “the Zelensky people are killing POWs,” you think “well, that’s not particularly surprising at all.”

Then you read the story.

RT:

The US on Friday declined to speculate on the shelling of the Ukrainian prisoners in Elenovka, saying it did not have enough information to do so. Meanwhile, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed concern about the incident, but his office said he lacked firsthand reports to comment further. Dozens of “Azov” fighters housed at the complex were killed in what Russia says was a strike by HIMARS rockets supplied by the US to Ukraine.

“We just don’t have enough information to speak intelligently about these very early reports,” John Kirby, spokesman for the US National Security Council, told reporters.

According to an unnamed senior Pentagon official, Americans “don’t have any definitive information” on what happened and whether the facility was struck by Ukraine or Russia.

The facility in Elenovka, south of Donetsk, housed hundreds of Ukrainian prisoners – mainly members of the “Azov” neo-Nazi militia captured in Mariupol in May. It was struck at around 2 am on Friday, as the prisoners were asleep. As of Friday afternoon, Donetsk People’s Republic authorities say 53 people were killed and 75 were injured.

The government in Kiev accused Russia of carrying out the attack on the territory of its Donbass ally. DPR authorities, however, showed fragments of what they said were rockets used by HIMARS, the rocket artillery supplied to the Ukrainian military by the US.

Ukrainian authorities also knew exactly where the “Azov” prisoners were being held, DPR militia spokesman Eduard Basurin told reporters, accusing Kiev of ordering the strike. He said the attack was intended to kill the “Azov” fighters who began to testify about war crimes and other atrocities Ukrainian forces had been involved in.

Wow – what a weird story.

Zelensky is like “we need to kill our POWs” and his goons are like “we’re on it, boss.” Then he’s like, “no – I mean OUR POWs.”

You can picture this scene like Shredder trying to give instructions to Rocksteady and Bebop.

Zelensky’s goons are like “well waddaya mean, boss? We’re already killing the POWs like you done told us to!”

Just like with every single thing that happens, The Guardian is claiming that Russia bombed their own POW camp.

It’s actually amazing. I mean, yes, you can report that Zelensky is saying that Russia fired rockets at their own POW camp. I think you have to report that. But that headline and that tweet are designed to make people think that Russia is killing POWs for no reason.

Firing rockets at your own POW camp is insane on a number of different levels. For one, unless you evacuated all the guards, you would be killing your own people. More importantly, there is no reason to kill POWs, unless you are desperate and trying to demoralize the opposition (which is what the Ukraine was doing in releasing videos of themselves torturing POWs). But these are Azov POWs who were supposed to be testifying about war crimes. And we’re supposed to believe that Putin ordered his own POW camp bombed to kill them? I mean, even if he wanted to kill them, he could just poison them or something, right? Who is going to bomb their own POW camp?

The New York Times would not have the nerve to say “Russia is firing HIMARS at their own POW camps!”

Instead, on the same day this story broke, the Times published a goofy op-ed from the “Ukraine” people.

I’ve noticed this a lot during the Ukraine conflict – The Guardian will print straight copy from the Ukraine government while the New York Times either tries to figure out an angle, or just doesn’t report on the story at all (beyond a back page minor mention).

The State Department plays this game with the NYT and WaPo.

WaPo has a less ridiculous headline than The Guardian.

But they included a bizarro quote from an alleged DoD official.

So, what is the claim here, exactly? Was it intended as a false flag, or did they want to kill POWs for some other reason, and then just decided to blame the Ukraine?

You would pretty much have to say it was planned as a false flag, but it is so bizarre, and the false flag explanation so convoluted, that even if you were in the habit of believing the media, this would be hard to swallow.

Franky: this accusation that Russia bombed its own POW camp is one of the weirdest things I’ve ever even seen reported by any news outlet, ever.

But I guess we have to go back to the old metric: people who will believe trannies exist, and that there is such a thing as child trannies, will believe anything. So you can just tell people Russia bombed its own POW camp, filled with prisoners who had already allegedly made deals to testify on war crimes.

This is wacko.

I will say: I don’t think this is going to be a top headline for long.

Yep. Dead Azov terrorists trained and directed by U.S. special forces tell no tales. Frankly I’m surprised the Russian military and FSB is so unsaavy

Here is Col. Doug Magregor talking about how the U.S. is behind the HIMARS targeting:

  11. Bill H. says:

One thing I’m observing from this and the bridges which were hit three times by HIMARS is that these rockets are certainly not very destructive. They appear to be anti-personnel weapons at best, and rather than destroying ammo dumps, it seems likely that they merely trigger ammo dumps to destroy themselves.

The destruction here is a lot of people killed, but the buildings are not destroyed, not really all that badly damaged, and it appears that even the bed frames can be easily reused.

As to the bridges, after three “successful” HIMARS attacks the bridges are still standing, and all we see are some potholes in the decking. Admittedly some of those holes are rather large, but how long is it going to take to repair those bridges.

These weapons look like a lot less than the “game changers” they were touted to be.

How do you know what Russians/FSB know or don’t know?
Obviously the Azov POWs were kept in Donbass Republic because Russia has no death penalty, but DPR does*. Donetsk Russians — who have been on the receiving end of the UkroNazi terror for 8 years — are no doubt thirsting for revenge. They may even have insisted to Putin that they want to keep them in DPR and deal with them themselves.

Having said that, I think we can reasonably assume that the few high-value POWs (officers, commanders) have been moved to Russia for the FSB to extract all the info they can.

Russia exchanged one of the spies it caught, then once he is in England, tried very desperately to poison him with a class of poisons no one has ever seen; and the father and daughter survived that, but no, we can’t let you talk to them for their safety. No, we won’t even telecast their statements.

Donald Trump colluded with Russia to release some communications between Hillary Clinton and the DNC, but no, those emails do not matter, don’t look into that.

WTC 1 and WTC 2 collapsed because planes hit them, and the aviation fuel, which is the lightest of all petroleum products and which evaporates very fast, soaked the entire building, and when the building caught fire (dont ask us how), it melted the steel in the construction. And yes, WTC 7 collapsed without any plane hitting it. And the plane that hit the Pentagon had no wings, err.., wings evaporated. No blackbox survived. But yes, thank God, we could get hold of the passport of one of the terrorists.

My only question is: Why did the Russians keep the prisoners so close to the border, why not hundreds of miles from the border, out of the range of any missiles? My only guess is that the prisoners were kept near to the border to be such a tempting target for Zelinsky that he couldn’t resist it. Ukraine has several reasons to expect that Ukraine POWs, especially the defenders of Mariupol, will not confess to any attrocities:
    1) if they did talk, there would already be a verified video of it in YouTube
    2) if they do, they face a death penalty from the separatists
    3) if they would do it under torture, they would have done so already in these months
    4) if they had agreed to talk, they would have been been transferred to a safe place out of the range of Ukraine HIMARS
    5) it is unlikely that any Mariupol defender who had done anything deserving a death penalty would give himself up as a POW, Ukraine sent several times a helicopter to bring ammunition, they would have escaped with a helicopter or fought to the end rather than surrender.
Because of these reasons Ukraine had no reason to bomb a POW camp.

Ukraine hardly bombed a POW camp by mistake as it targets high value objects: command posts and fuel, weapon and ammunition deposits, which are all easily identified from satellite and drone images, and Ukraine has informers in Donbass.

Therefore the most logical explanation is that separatists blew the POW camp up. They had a good reason for it: Ukraine is expected to make a counteroffensive in August. Separatists want that this counteroffensive does not target Donbass separatist areas. Thus, they threaten to kill all POWs if Ukraine attacks them. They have over 1000 POWs. But as the international law forbids killing POWs, it was made so that they can claim that Ukraine bombed the camp. POWs were placed close enough that this would be technically possible.

It is rather reasonable to think that the Wagner group made the explosion inside the building, as Ukraine intelligence claims. Was Wagner owned by Yevgeny Prigozhin? Was he half-Jewish as so many Unz commenters see a Jewish hand in this war?

  43. @Kolya Krassotkin

Yep — think you’ve picked it. Who benefited? Ukraine. 50 odd Ukrainian soldiers, with various degrees of commitment to Nazism & Ukraine, known to be making deals with Russia about “spilling the beans”….

Ukraine & their various dogs seem to becoming increasingly desperate.

    • Agree: Ann Nonny Mouse
  44. @j2

You have to assume that the separatists think that the Ukraine would give up their counteroffensive because of some war prisioners. But the fact is that the Ukrainian government is ready to sacrifice the lives of large numbers of Ukrainians in oder to fight the war for land. They don’t even think of negotiations. Why would they care about some prisioners who wont fight anymore? The separatists don’t think that the Ukraine would give up their offensive because of some prisioners.

Selensky has made a bet on war. For him the total destruction of the Ukraine ist better than a negotiated peace. The best result for him is total victory, which is very unlikely. The second best result is the total defeat and destruction of the Ukraine. He would come out as a hero of a tragedy. Ukrainians made the wrong choice when they elected Selensky.

LOL. Baghdad j2 spewing his lies once again. Ukraine has been using m777 and HIMARS to perform long range shelling of civilians all across Donbas and especially in Donetsk. Not only are they exposing their limited arsenal of specialized western equipment to counter battery fire, they are wasting the very limited inventory of high precision warheads murdering civilians. What an imbecile j2 is, he doesn’t even consider that these terrorism offensives waste precious leadership resources and smears the entire reputation of Ukraine and its laughable foreign run “military”.

    Then there is this:

Ukraine, and especially Zelensky, are blatantly committing war crimes here, first by using cluster munitions, but second by targeting civilians with them. Clearly the Ukrainians are burning the metaphorical bridges so the few remaining honorable officers in Ukraine cannot retreat. This is metaphorical equivalent to how Ukraine blew all the bridges in order to block the retreat of their mechanized forces from Sevierodonetsk across the Donets river into Lisischansk. Thousands died, many thousands more were captured, and a treasure trove of heavy equipment, much of it Nato, was captured.

Importantly, at the Azot plant many foreign mercenaries were captured, and they face the death penalty and therefore are likely to spill the beans about CIA/Mossad/MI6 involvement. This is likely why this POW camp was targeted, to murder “squeelers” and to get a message to all the other foreign mercenaries and special forces to keep quiet. Since the Ukrainians do not have the kind of precise targeting data provided, it is also stands to reason that 6 eyes intelligence not only provided the guidance and the exact coordinates, but they also had transcripts of what information was being revealed to the Russians.

Ukraine is expected to make a counteroffensive in August.

This war started in February. The Ukrainians have been in retreat ever since. Kiev, Sumy and Kharkov were Russian feints to prevent reinforcements going to the Donbas.

All attempts to launch a counteroffensive at Kherson have failed for obvious reasons – no shelter in steppe and the Russians control the skies.

Soon the Donetsk province will be entirely liberated. The fortifications built with NATO help over 8 years will be overcome. In view of this, any discussion of a counteroffensive in this area is ridiculous. The Donetsk Republic have their won untouched fortifications.

Actually no one believes that, even in Russia. Russia hoped that a lightning attack all over the country, but especially Kiev, would collapse the Ukrainian government, and the people would welcome the Russians as liberators. It did not work. So, they had to change the tactic, and pull all the forces they were using to Donbass. The initial plan was not crazy, and probably worth trying, but pretending that Russia is omniscient, makes it impossible to understand what is happening.

I would guess that in part Russia has to make this up as they go along. Bucha was a big change. After withdrawing from the city (after the initial phase) people who had taken aid from Russia were rounded up, murdered, then put on display on the street in order to blame Russia. After that, Russia realized that if they turned over the ‘liberated’ territories in some sort of agreement, they could expect their supporters to be murdered.

The main difference between confirmed HIMARS strikes in Afghanistan and the Bridge ir indeed this prison building is the Warhead.

The M270A1 IAC is fitted with two pods of six tube launchers while the M142 HIMARS has one single pod with six launcher tubes. In this configuration, both vehicles are able to fire different types of rockets including the M26 / M26A2Er Dual Purpose Improved Conventional Munitions (DPICM), M30 GMLRS DPICM, M31 / M31A1 / m31A2 GMLRS Unitary (GMLRS-U), M30A1 / M30A2 GMLRS Alternative Warhead (GMLRS AW), XM404 /XM403 ER GMLRS RS Unitary and the M28A1 / M28A2 Low Cost Reduced Range Practice Rocket (LCRRPR).

The M270A1 IAC and the M142 HIMARS are also able to fire missiles, in this configuration, the M270 can carry two missiles while the M142 only one. Both are able to fire ATACMS (Army Tactical Missile System) including a full family of surface-to-surface missiles as the MGM-140A Block 1 previously M39 that contains 950 M74 anti-personnel/anti-materiel (APAM) sub-munitions (4.275 kg) with a range of 80 130 km.

The Ukraine counteroffensive will be in the South, not first in Donbass. The reason for evacuation of Donbass now has no other goal than saving lives of Ukraine civilians as Russians continue bombing the area.

My suggestion is a major attack from Vasylivka (just West from the lake) to Kalanchak and the Black Sea. This would cut supplies of Russian forces in Kherson area. If this is the idea, then it makes sense to blow the bridges on the river as most heavy weapons are already in the East side and the goal would be that Russian troops in the East cannot come to help the troops in the South. The reason for this attack is naturally to get out of the range of Russian artillery as fast as possible. Their artillery is 10 km from the front line and it does not move faster than a tank. Armored force can make this cut before Russians can respond, it is essentially steppe. Going fast around all population centers just to separate Russians into two parts.
The East side of this cut would fall in a month in lack of ammunition, and the West side of this cut is unprotected as Russian fortifications in Zaporizhzhia assume an attack from the North. The West would fall probably up to Mariupol. As a consequence, Crime is threatened after the South is taken. Therefore Russia must withdraw much of the forces from Donbass to protect Crime (which is must protect as there is Sevastopol and it is annexed). Only after that happens, would the counteroffensive start in Donbass. It would succeed as Russians would have withdrawn much of their forces, so the North would fall. The result: borders of 24. Feb. before the end of the year.

But I cannot guess their plan. Probably they have a better idea, this was just a civilian suggestion. It is of course possible they intend to attack first in Donbass, but that would very much surprise me and I expect that it would fail: Russia is too strong in Donbass now.

I very much doubt Ukrainians make the war according to American instructions. So far the way they have fared the war seems Rus’ (i.e., similar to Russians): they do not use terrain well and earlier used artillery heavily (indeed, so heavily that they run out of ammunition). This is Ukraine variant of territorial defense and it must have surprised Americans (and Russians) that it has so far worked rather well.

The Ukrainian cannon fodder army under Nato command has not once been capable of mounting a combined force operation, and every one of their offensives has disintegrated into bloody masses of dead young Ukrainians. Yet j2 thinks they should attack! Just like the warmonger Stoltenberg or even Max Boot.

This unmaintainable and unmanageable patchwork of Nato weapons systems hinders a well orchestrated combined forces operation. Aside from the very dubious reliability of these systems, there is the lack of interoperability from ostensibly standardized shells like 155m artillery shells to the Gepard 30mm Oerlikon cannon’s not functioning on Norwegian 3omm ammunition. Top that up with a potpourri of guidance and targeting systems. Then mix it with a decimated command structure saturated with multinational prima-donnas and besser-wissers. Of course knead that with undertrained and unmotivated Ukrainian cannon fodder forced into service and frog marched to the front.

There isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that Ukraine will be able to launch a successful major offensive using its own army. All those Nato stand off weapons are good for in this situation is terrorizing civilians and escalating the conflict. Norway-delivered Gepard SPAAG 35mm shells are useless in Ukraine

Ukraine received Norwegian-made ammunition some time ago to be used by the German-made Gepard SPAAG, also delivered in Ukraine. The reason: Germany did not have 35mm ammunition available for its Gepard SPAAGs and was forced to look abroad. Berlin even held talks with countries that have purchased this air defense system, such as Qatar and Brazil. Norway responded by saying it could produce them.

Now it turns out that the Norwegian ammunition already delivered to Ukraine is not recognized by the weapon system and it cannot fire them. Sources claim that joint tests of Gepard SPAAG ammunition and anti-aircraft self-propelled guns took place in Germany. According to them, new tests will be conducted in August after the ammunition is upgraded.

German PzH 2000s in Ukraine wear out: error message after heavy fire

And now Keef has been promised Biber tracked bridgelayers.
All these toys only make sense in the context of a massive armored thrust –

air assault brigades have proven good at sitting in holes, sniping and mortaring
civilians); and what exactly would they attack? Destroyed cities are the great
equalizer – it took the Soviets seven (!) armies to dig out the Sixth (starving and

So they are throwing everything that they have against the Russian civilians in the hope that Putin will finally crack and retaliate with tactical nukes. Since the new law on the sale of agricultural land entered into force exactly one year ago in Ukraine, until today three large multinational consortia with American capital have bought almost a third of Ukrainian arable land. The “Australian National Review” stated that those three companies bought 17 of the 62 million hectares of agricultural land, that is, 28 percent of the total arable land of the former Ukraine. The entire area of Ukraine is 603.500 square kilometers (before the special Russian military intervention), and 170.000 square kilometers were purchased.
Customers are “Cargill”, “Dupont” and “Monsanto” (which is formally a German-Australian company, but with American capital). Among the most important shareholders of these companies are “Vangard”, “Blackrock” and “Blackstone”. At the same time, “Blackrock” is a fund that manages assets of 10 trillion dollars, “Vangard” with six, and “Blackstone” with 0,9 trillion dollars.

    I have to disagree.

It worked out just exactly as his NATO/US puppeteers planned.
NATO/US desperately wanted, they goaded Putin to invade.
Putin & Co tried for 8 years or so to avoid invading, to find some kind of compromise.
But there reached a point in the goading that Kremlin had to invade today: otherwise it would be much worse tomorrow.

US Neocondom wanted this war — for a whole bunch of reason.

They even told their puppet Zelensky to publicly announce that Ukraine will seek nukes.
(they knew very well it would trigger Putin)

If it was just greedy Jews buying all the farmland it wouldn’t be that bad, but big, greedy Jewish Pharma making bioweapons at biolabs and big Jewish AG making toxic GMO “food” really make it all far more sinister, even satanic.

“Have some respect” for lies, manipulations and insults like yours? Why dont you just mind your own business?! The whore came at me just like you shit cock sucker. Exactly the “respect” you cheat do not show you are asking me to serve after you abused me (and truth). Fuck you! (with an iron bar)

Andrei Martyanov explains here why the Ukrainian counter-offensive most probably will not succeed.

j2 used to be a reasonably critical commenter before leaving UR but has now reappeared solely on the Ukrainian threads uncritically promoting Western propaganda and becoming a “virtual barrier guard” as you say. Sad transformation. Same like peterAUS. Strange that both left the UR some time ago only to reappear in this new role on a single issue.

I’ll come right out and say it: I don’t really like Andrei Martyanov. A lot of it is due to his hard to understand accent, but I find his demeanor arrogant and off-putting.

Supposedly “intelligent” people are the most vulnerable to Mass Formation Psychosis. As I look back over the last few decades, I can see how the creation of these “mass formations” has been repeated over and over again.

Apparently, some people are more vulnerable to certain Mass Formations but may escape others. It could be related to environmental factors like EM emissions or unpure food and water, by I suspect that it has to do with established thought patterns. Tavistock, the Frankfurt School, and other mind control operations like Soros NGO’s have certainly spent billions in the higher education systems and “think tanks” that they control figuring out precisely how to manipulate the minds of the easier targets.

We have to recognize that anyone who voluntarily serves in the military is mentally deficient or even retarded. PeterAus and j2 are both officers in military organizations that depend on their own mass formations for their very existence.

I am reminded of Chinese saying from the novel Taipan: Never use good steel to make nails.
