Whether or not “getting shot” and “getting hit by shrapnel” are the same thing is apparently a hugely consequential question for American conservatives.
Typically, “getting shot” and “getting hit by shrapnel” are considered two different things, which is why you hear about these two different things. However, saying that “getting hit by shrapnel” is actually just a different form of “getting shot” is probably true, I guess?
You are getting hit by a piece of a bullet.
However, the meaningful difference would be that if it was a piece of shrapnel that hit Trump’s ear, he was not saved from a bullet blowing his brains out, as a piece of shrapnel, even if it had hit him right in the head, would not have penetrated his skull.
Also, if it was shrapnel, that means the famous photo of the bullet is fake (which basically everyone had already concluded regardless).

Nearly two weeks after Donald Trump’s near assassination, the FBI confirmed Friday that it was indeed a bullet that struck the former president’s ear, moving to clear up conflicting accounts about what caused the former president’s injuries after a gunman opened fire at a Pennsylvania rally.
“What struck former President Trump in the ear was a bullet, whether whole or fragmented into smaller pieces, fired from the deceased subject’s rifle,” the agency said in a statement.
The one-sentence statement from the FBI marked the most definitive law enforcement account of Trump’s injuries and followed ambiguous comments earlier in the week from Director Christopher Wray that appeared to cast doubt on whether Trump had actually been hit by a bullet.
The comment drew fury from Trump and his allies and further stoked conspiracy theories that have flourished on both sides of the political aisle amid a dearth of information following the July 13 attack.
Up until now, federal law enforcement agents involved in the investigation, including the FBI and Secret Service, had refused to provide information about what caused Trump’s injuries. Trump’s campaign has also declined to release medical records from the hospital where he was first treated or to make the doctors there available for questions.

It’s been my assertion that Trump did not get hit by a bullet. The wound was not consistent with this, and the whole “turned his head at the last moment to avoid the only one of the 6 bullets that came anywhere close to hitting him” bit is too goofy. I think there were going to be more questions about why the wound was so consistent with a cut, rather than a bullet hole, and it seems clear that the “well, it was actually shrapnel” narrative fixes those problems.
If Trump cut himself or was cut by a Secret Service agent, that would be more or less consistent with a piece of shrapnel scraping his ear.
Probably, the most likely explanation is that he cut his ear before the event, then ripped off a bandage to cause blood to pour out. Ears bleed a lot. A small cut with a skin-colored bandage that could be pulled off when he heard the shots would explain everything that happened in a much simpler and believable way than either the bullet or shrapnel wound theory.
Further, we should note: it doesn’t even matter what the FBI says. They admit that they can’t even find all the bullets that were shot, and can’t trace their trajectory. They also say they don’t know which bullet (or shrapnel from which bullet) hit Trump’s ear.
It’s all, in my opinion, very ridiculous.

Regards Wray’s off hand comment, I had an image of Trump getting thumped by General Sir Henry Shrapnel, in his full fig, or an air burst from one of his marvelous air burst shells that revolutionized warfare.
How difficult would it be to send in a drone with a shrapnel charge these days either?
I’ve watched the video several times, and it seems clear that Trump grabbed his ear immediately after the first shot and milliseconds before the second shot. There was no reason for such speculation by Wray other than as an attempt to downplay the incident. That was quite obvious, and that’s why it was rightly met with such disgust and outrage.
I got the impression that Trump’s ear got hit by one of the airplanes that crashed into the Twin Towers on 9/11. It could also be the one that crashed into the Pentagon, or perhaps the one that crashed near Shanksville.
Did the bullet hit have any effect on Trump’s hearing? Doesn’t look like it. LOL.

The FBI says Trumps wounded ear is consistent with being struck by a small meteorite. This is entirely possible as planet earth is constantly bombarded with meteors. Whether it was a meteor or a meteorite it amounts to the same thing. You can trust the FBI because in the movies they are the good guys. Moral of the story is never use what the FBI says to back up your claims as they are known liars.
It’s impossible to believe anything these days. Perhaps that’s the objective. However, somewhere in the mix is the truth, we’ll never know which.

As I commented on an earlier post, my uncle was shot through the head in WW2, the bullet entering to the side of his nose and exiting below his ear. He did not die, nor was he disabled, living to be almost 80 as a successful farmer and father. Bullets are not magic.

Apparently you don’t realize that
1: Bullets normally just tear a hole into skin, WITHOUT removing any.
2: The medical profession now uses cyanoacrylate adhesive (“super glue”) in many situations which used to require stitches, ESPECIALLY in places where scarring is more noticeable from tissue-misalignment when tying sutures vs the almost perfect alignment that is often achieved when using cyanoacrylate. Also, cyanoacrylate doesn’t show up as unsightly sutures, and as the body slowly dissolves the cyanoacrylate, the new tissue replaces it perfectly.
Wherever I have had cyanoacrylate applied in lieu of stitches, for both traumatic and surgical wounds, there has been much less scarring, and better appearance and flexibility compared to traumatic and surgical wounds repaired with stitches.
The photo is ENTIRELY consistent with an injury by a small projectile (either bullet or bullet fragment creating a small cut in his ear, subsequently repaired with cyanoacrylate.
The projectile didn’t strike bone vs the hand that made solid contact against thinly covered bone. That literally makes a huge difference.
Just change the definition of the word bullet. You know, like the definition of the word ‘vaccine’ was changed to include RNA bioweapons.

Cuckservative normies believe that Trump received a dose of divine intervention on the day of the shooting, and Wray’s statements seem straightforward: fuck you MAGA. I won’t dive too much into whether this was a CIA/Mossad operation, but capturing an image of a bullet whizzing by at 2500 FPS feels like the real divine intervention. If the Jew York Times is getting involved, something is off. They published the photo of the assault bullet taken by their photographer who just happened to have the equipment on hand.
I don’t know much about shutter speeds, but I’ve read it’s highly unlikely a photographer would have that kind of gear at a Trump rally. It’s also interesting that CNN was covering the rally live, which they supposedly haven’t done for a long time.
Seeing Trump without the bandage and showing no signs of anything happening is extremely suspicious. Have you ever cut your ear? My misses once cut my ear while cutting my hair. She accidentally nipped the top with her scissors. It sems that there were motorcycle cops at the rally. A few allegedly got hit by either bullets or shrapnel. Where were these cops so that they were hit in the line of fire. Did they note where the shots were coming from, and were they able to return fire at the shooter? It would be informative to see any videos that recorded those cops. Why hasn’t there been major media reports on these cops? Were these cops transferred away to keep them from being free to talk?

The department offered 10 such officers.”
“Four of those 10 officers were wounded by shrapnel during the shooting that struck Trump in the ear and killed former fire chief Corey Comperatore. Despite their injuries, those officers were captured on video assisting others. They were eventually treated at the scene, though one officer did go to the hospital for further treatment.
Days later, two of the wounded motorcycle officers — both of whom were supervisors — were transferred to other divisions in the bureau. One was assigned to Zone 1 on the North Side and the other to Zone 3 in Allentown, WPXI reported.
The bureau contends that the officers never received permission to assist with Trump’s security detail, though the officers allege that they did, sources told WPXI.”
