  1. I agree that the only useful university degrees are STEM-based. However, many of the alt-right (especially ones like Vox Day) do NOT want women to go for STEM degrees. I don’t know if this is because they think SJW-type women will push to reduce standards, or if they are opposed to it for some other unfathomable reason.

  2. A better reason not to: H1-B. The career arc sucks.

White and yellow nerds go into the field because they’re obsessives, interested in the engineering and the science per se. Women and NAMs are not like that. To get them in the field, you have to offer something else– like real money. Or prestige. Or something.

Or simply because they want to keep salaries and wages at least adequate. There’s enough foreign competition, why add domestic?

Quite fathomable, if you ask me.

The first minimum wages applied only to women, and were pushed hard by the trade unions. Women: the other cheap labor.

  4. Regarding your point #2, I doubt there is enough estrogen in the world to give Jared Kushner a rack like Ivanka’s. Not even Barney Frank has a rack like Ivanka’s. Ain’t happening.

If wages are being suppressed, how about using one’s engineering degree to HIRE the cheaper talent as an entrepreneur, or a Director at a bigger company?

Sheeesh, WN wiggers are such low-expectation, limited thinkers (due to low IQ). No wonder H1-Bs are their direct competition (whereas better engineers are under no competitive pressure from H1-Bs that are far below their level).

  7. @Thomm

I had no idea that Norman Matloff was a “WN wigger” with a low IQ. I thought UC Davis was one of the better California schools.

Also, if the H1-B’s are so damned good, why are they limited to a single employer? There are Thirteenth Amendment issues here. Why aren’t they given the O visa instead?

Dude, you have no idea how funny this statement is, and if you do, you probably have an year-round office at Bohemian Grove.

I agree that H1-B should be abolished altogether, and only people who qualify for an O-1 should be allowed in.

Most O-1s will still be Chinese and Indian, however. Even in that case.

Just a quick comment – my daughter is a Chemical Engineer. Last year she passed her PE certification. As such, I am obviously not against women being in STEM. But I am opposed to pushing girls into STEM that have no interest or aptitude for the field.

@ramzpaul. STEM occupations require a good deal of brain power of a certain type and you have it or you don’t. No woman (or male, either) can be in any way “pushed” into such a field – and succeed – without an inborn aptitude unless you are talking about the lowest levels in those categories, i.e., a clerk/assistant to a scientist.

You are not a stupid person, ramz, so why are you making arguments of the kind that you are. A physically average woman cannot become a logger or bricklayer (hard, hard work) just by being strongly encouraged and neither can she become a STEM-er without the right mental muscle. Indeed, women can be pushed and supported and encouraged and subsidized into unsuitable fields, but they simply will not succeed unless the standards are grossly reduced.
