I’m attaching below a very comprehensive and generally rather positive profile of my activities which just appeared as the cover story of the current issue of The New Republic.

I’ve been a subscriber to TNR for almost fifteen years—it’s long been one of my favorite publications—but I certainly never expected to make the cover any time soon, especially showing a nice photo of me and a large headline reading “THIS MAN CONTROLS CALIFORNIA.”

Although I would imagine that Gov. Gray Davis and a few other people might dispute the accuracy of TNR’s headline, perhaps it will now become somewhat easier to get my phone calls returned.
