A Collection of Interesting, Important, and Controversial Perspectives Largely Excluded from the American Mainstream Media

Revolutions Are Bloody, But So Is Doing Nothing

Graeme MacQueen, a university professor in Canada, calls attention to the American left’s inability to exercise imagination with regard to the reports of the Warren Commission and the 9/11 Commission. A collection of individuals and publications, somehow regarded as leftwing, has proven to be active agents for the conspiratorial state against true dissent.

Here is the link to Graeme MacQueen’s article: https://truthandshadows.wordpress.com/2017/03/14/911-and-american-left/#more-4073

The United States no longer has a leftwing, and neither does Europe, Greece least of all, a country whose “leftwing” government has agreed that Greece’s creditors can loot and plunder the Greek people and the public assets of Greece in behalf of the One Percent. The British Labour Party is as rightwing as the Conservatives, and the French socialist party is more rightwing and much more acceptant of American overlordship than General Charles DeGaul.

In Germany the electorate has put in place as Chancellor of Germany a US puppet who represents Washington, not the German people. And she will continue to represent Washington, even if it means war with Russia.

The leftwing, once a force that attempted to hold governments accountable, has merged with the American Empire. The American “left” has now joined with the military/security complex to deep-six the prospect of detente with Russia. See, for example, http://www.counterpunch.org/2017/03/14/trump-and-russia-the-shortest-reset-ever/

The American leftwing has joined with the neocons, the presstitute media, and the military/security complex in a common agreement that anyone who favors better relations with Russia is a Russian agent or a dupe of Vladimir Putin. And if you know enough to doubt the Warren Commission and 9/11 Commission reports, you are a conspiracy kook and are put on Harvard’s list of purveyors of “fake news.” Everyone who does not agree with the Establishment’s line is “fake news.” And this is in a “democracy with free speech.” What a joke America has become!

In other words, the “left” has accepted the neoconservative line that those who advocate peace with Russia, other than on US imposed terms, are traitors to America, including the President of the United States. Harvard University now has a PropOrNot type of list of suspect websites. All who favor normal relations with Russia are on the list.

We have reached the point that even for Harvard University,no dissent from hating Russia is possible. This leaves war as the only option.

Are you ready to die for the military/security complex’s enormous budget?

That is all you will be dying for.

  1. The US Empire and its evil enablers seem to be taking us and the world on a suicidal course. Our children and grandchildren are sadly inheriting the disastrous results of many years of US meddling, hubris, and an insatiable lust for worldwide hegemony.

  2. Dear Paul:

You post beaucoup posts on this site. You read a lot and have much to say, and it’s worthwhile and interesting, but would you please help us cultural conservatives standing here with our fingers in the dike of civilization by not furthering its further decline?

Case in point: General Charles de Gaulle. You don’t speak French (nobody’s perfect), so please be careful with French names and words.

    Merci.

Strange you speak about conservatives and the dike of civilization, when the conservatives under Bush destroyed thousands of years of past civilization going clear back to its cradle in the Mid-East.
For some strange reason it reminds me of all conservatives as most neo-cons are conservative and no conservatives aren't stupid like Bush and his cronies, it just appears all stupid people are conservatives and Bush and his cronies are only a few of the examples it..
  3. Left and right are competing political ideologies. The scum who populate our political institutions today have no ideology. They are opportunists taking money from rent seekers who pretend to be capitalists. Honest representatives of left and right are scarce as hens teeth in Imperial Washington. Two come to mind. Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich. Both ridiculed by corporate media and rejected by their respective parties.

  4. It is unfortunate that this, as well as other articles by Mr. Roberts, even though he may be wrong on a number of details, are essentially true. I do think that Corbyn’s Labour party, if he can gain real control of it, has some potential. I fully concur that the “democrats” have jumped the fascist shark and are advocating headlong suicidal anti-Russian policies. Even Sanders, who had revealed his essential sell-out status with the intensity of his shilling for the harpy in the ’16 campaign has totally surrendered to the lamestream Russia demonisation and, apparently, has sold out even on single payer medical, as is indicated from other sources.

  5. Dr Roberts doth oversimplify too much. The mainstream left gave up the idea of nationalising the commanding heights of the economy during the 1980s and 1990s. However, even in Britain 25-30% of workers are directly or indirectly employed by the state and you have a massively expanded Welfare State.
Outside of the State Sector, Neoliberalism is in charge. The taxation from the private sector is used to fund the massively expanded Welfare State. On the face of it, they should be opposed, but in fact the Neoliberals and the Left are allies.
They both favour massive 3rd World Immigration and “electing a new people.” To the Neoliberal, this results in a continuous supply of cheap labour and massive profits for their patrons.
For the Left, it means ever more welfare dependents and ever more voters for the parties of welfare – themselves. It means that they can dump the White working class they despise. The Left envisage a world in which they are in power forever.
In reality, after a transition period, the immigrants will vote for parties controlled by their own. So if trends continue, we will soon have Muslim parties in Europe and Mestizo parties in America.
As my fellow countryman never said, ” The best laid plans of Neolibs and Lefties gang aft agley.”

What a joke America has become!

What gives insisting upon this point without adding that it is the Americans that “have become” a joke, in the first place?
    They are too simple-minded.

It takes two to make war. Without our side directly attacking a Russian asset it won’t happen. War is an American pastime. Russia has been there, done that. Busy now taking care of business…with China, much of Asia, Mid -east and Africa. We have become the crazy aunt all the world recognizes and pities.

  10. In case anyone is curious about “Harvard’s list of purveyors of “fake news.””, here’s more info:

    http://conservativetribune.com/harvard-provides-list-fake-news/

    and here is the list

“False, Misleading, Clickbait-y, and/or Satirical “News” Sources”
    by Melissa Zimdar, Merrimack College

    https://docs.google.com/document/u/1/d/10eA5-mCZLSS4MQY5QGb5ewC3VAL6pLkT53V_81ZyitM/

    Update your bookmarks accordingly :-)

Oddly the author admits she herself relies on “alternative sources with different political perspectives (Truth-Out)”, but she does not include that site in her list, even though she has the perfect label for it, “bias”:

Extreme Bias (tag bias): Sources that come from a particular point of view and may rely on propaganda, decontextualized information, and opinions distorted as facts.

which she applies to sites like breitbart, dailycaller, and drudgereport. Frankly, her list is not only itself obviously biased and inherently wrong-headed, but also shoddy and incomplete by any standard.

Prof. Zimdar also has this more up-to-date project, to which others can contribute:

    http://www.opensources.co/

Have no fear, our own unz.com is listed, and, waddya know, labeled “bias”. Not sure why we so far we have been spared the labels hate, rumor, unreliable, conspiracy, and makesmeuncomfortable.

Finally, I am looking forward to her coming opus, “False and Misleading Thoughts”. I am worried I may harbor some and urgently need a purge.
