I am often asked to explain why countries like Iran appear to be so aggressive, involving themselves in foreign wars and seeking to create alliances that they know will provoke the worst and most paranoid responses from some of their neighbors. My response is invariably that perceptions of threat depend very much on which side of the fence you are standing on. Saudi Arabia and Israel might well perceive Iranian actions as aggressive given the fact that all three countries are competing for dominance in the same region, but Iran, which is surrounded by powerful enemies, could equally explain its activity as defensive, seeking to create a belt of allies that can be called upon if needed if a real shooting war breaks out.

The United States and Israel are, of course, masters at seeing everything as a threat, justifying doing whatever is deemed necessary to defend against what are perceived to be enemies. They even exercise extraterritoriality, with Washington claiming a right to go after certain categories of “terrorists” in countries with which it is not at war, most particularly Afghanistan, Yemen and Somalia. Israel does likewise in its attacks on Lebanon and Syria. Both Tel Aviv and Washington have regularly crossed the line drawn by international legal authorities in terms of what constitutes initiating a “just” or “legal” war, i.e. an imminent threat to use force by a hostile power. Neither Israel nor the United States has really been threatened by an enemy or enemies in the past seventy years, so the definition of threat has been expanded to include after-the-fact as with 9/11 and potential as in the case of Israel and Iran.

The “which side of the fence” formulation has also had some interesting spin-offs in terms of how so-called non-state players that use violence are perceived and portrayed. Nearly all widely accepted definitions of terrorism include language that condemns the “use of politically motivated violence against non-combatants to provoke a state of terror.”

It is quite easy to identify some groups that are unambiguously “terrorist.” Islamic State in Syria (ISIS) and its various affiliates fit the definition perfectly, but even in that case there is some ambiguity by those state actors who are ostensibly pledged to eradicate terrorists. There have been credible claims that the United States has been protecting the last enclaves of ISIS in order to maintain its “right” to stay in Syria, allegedly based on the stated objective of completely destroying the group before withdrawal. As long as ISIS is still around in Syria, Washington will have an admittedly illegal justification for doing likewise.

There are two notable groups that should be universally condemned as terrorists but are not for political reasons. They are the Mujaheddin e Khalq (MEK), Iranian dissidents that are based in Paris and Washington, and the so-called White Helmets who have been active in Syria. MEK is particularly liked by Israel and its friends inside the Beltway because it retains resources inside Iran that enable it to carry out assassinations and sabotage, and if it is only Iranians that are dying, that’s okay.

MEK has been on the State Department roster of foreign terrorist organizations since the list was established in 1997. Its inclusion derives from its having killed six Americans in the 1970s and from its record of violence both inside and outside Iran since that time. The group was driven out of Iran, denied refuge in France, and eventually armed and given a military base by Iraq’s leader Saddam Hussein. Saddam used the group to carry out terrorist acts inside Iran. MEK is widely regarded as a cult headed by a husband and wife team Massoud and Maryam Rajavi. Its members were required to be celibate and there are reports that they are subjected to extensive brainwashing, physical torture, severe beatings even unto death, and prolonged solitary confinement if they question the leadership. One scholar who has studied them describes their beliefs as a “weird combination of Marxism and Islamic fundamentalism.” Like many other terrorist groups MEK has a political wing that operates openly referred to as the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), which is based in Paris, and another front organization called Executive Action which operates in Washington.

MEK was regarded as a terrorist group until 2012, when it was taken off the Special Designation list by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. It was removed because multi-million dollar contracts with Washington lobbying firms experienced at “working” congress backed up by handsome speaking fees had induced many prominent Americans to join the chorus supporting NCRI. Prior to 2012, speaking fees for the group started at $15,000 and went up from there. Former Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell reported more than $150,000 in honoraria. Rudy Giuliani has been paid generously for years at $20,000 per appearance for brief, twenty-minute speeches. Bear in mind that MEK was a listed terrorist group at the time and accepting money from it to promote its interests should have constituted material support of terrorism.

The group’s well-connected friends have included prominent neocons like current National Security Advisor John Bolton and ex-CIA Directors James Woolsey, Michael Hayden and Porter Goss as well as former Generals Anthony Zinni, Peter Pace, Wesley Clark, and Hugh Shelton. Traditional conservatives close to the Trump Administration like Newt Gingrich, Fran Townsend and Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao are also fans of NCRI. Townsend in particular, as a self-proclaimed national security specialist, has appeared on television to denounce Iran, calling its actions “acts of war” without indicating that she has received money from an opposition group.

MEK’s formula for success in removing itself from the terrorism lift involved paying its way through a corrupt political system. More interesting perhaps is the tale of the White Helmets, who have just been given the 2019 Elie Wiesel Award by the National Holocaust Museum, with the citation “These volunteer rescue workers have saved lives on all sides of the conflict in Syria. Their motto is ‘To save one life is to save all of humanity.’”

The White Helmets have been praised by those who hate the government of President Bashar al-Asad in Syria and want to see it removed because of its role as a leading element in the propaganda campaign that seeks to instigate violence or use fabricated information to depict the Damascus government as guilty of slaughtering its own citizens. The propaganda is intended to terrorize the civilian population, which is part of the definition of terrorism.

Favorable media coverage derives from the documentary The White Helmets, which was produced by the group itself and tells a very convincing tale promoted as “the story of real-life heroes and impossible hope.” It is a very impressive piece of propaganda, so much so that it has won numerous awards including the Oscar for Best Documentary Short last year and the White Helmets themselves were nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. More to the point, however, is the undeniable fact that the documentary has helped shape the public understanding of what is going on in Syria, describing the government in Damascus in purely negative terms.

Recently, with the Syrian Army closing in on the last White Helmet affiliates still operating in the country, the Israeli government, assisted by the United States, staged an emergency humanitarian evacuation of the group’s members and their families to Israel and then on to Jordan. It was described in a BBC article that included “The IDF said they had ‘completed a humanitarian effort to rescue members of a Syrian civil organization and their families’, saying there was an ‘immediate threat to their lives.’ The transfer of the displaced Syrians through Israel was an exceptional humanitarian gesture. Although Israel is not directly involved in the Syria conflict, the two countries have been in a state of war for decades. Despite the intervention, the IDF said that ‘Israel continues to maintain a non-intervention policy regarding the Syrian conflict.’”

All of the Israeli assertions are nonsense, including its claimed “humanitarianism” and “non-intervention” in the Syrian war, where it has been bombing almost daily. The carefully edited scenes of heroism under fire that have been filmed and released worldwide conceal the White Helmets’ relationship with the al-Qaeda affiliated group Jabhat al-Nusra and its participation in the torture and execution of “rebel” opponents. Indeed, the White Helmets only operate in rebel held territory, which enables them to shape the narrative both regarding who they are and what is occurring on the ground.

The White Helmets travelled to bombing sites with their film crews trailing behind them. Once at the sites, with no independent observers, they are able to arrange or even stage what is filmed to conform to their selected narrative. Exploiting their access to the western media, the White Helmets thereby de facto became a major source of “eyewitness” news regarding what was going on in those many parts of Syria where European and American journalists were quite rightly afraid to go, all part of a broader largely successful “rebel” effort to manufacture fake news that depicts the Damascus government as engaging in war crimes directed against civilians, an effort that has led to several attacks on government forces and facilities by the U.S. military. This is precisely the propaganda that has been supported both by Tel Aviv and Washington.

Perhaps the most serious charge against the White Helmets consists of the evidence that they actively participated in the atrocities, to include torture and murder, carried out by their al-Nusra hosts. There have been numerous photos of the White Helmets operating directly with armed terrorists and also celebrating over the bodies of execution victims and murdered Iraqi soldiers. The group’s jihadi associates regard the White Helmets as fellow “mujahideen” and “soldiers of the revolution.”

So, the National Holocaust Museum, which is taxpayer funded, has given an apparently prestigious award to a terrorist group, something which could have been discerned with even a little fact checking. And the museum also might have been sensitive to how the White Helmets have been used in support of Israeli propaganda vis-à-vis Syria. Perhaps, while they are at it, the museum’s board just might also want to check out Elie Wiesel, for whom the award is named. Wiesel, who was a chronicler of Jewish victimhood while persistently refusing to acknowledge what Israel was doing to the Palestinians, notoriously mixed fact and fiction in his best-selling holocaust memoir Night. Ironically, the award and recipient are well matched in this case as mixing fact and fiction is what both Elie Wiesel and the White Helmets are all about.

    The article, the piece.

Most of it is about tactics, method, financing, local theater, global goals. Any agenda, should see the pathways suggested by the article as “inevitable” (French for no way around it), all parties that have substance cannot get around it. Be it since in conflicting stances, the behavior and methods of the opponent dictates response and ways of response. The US, and as much France, fill out the list of your choice, any corporation (Colombia coal bananas and proxy para-military two dozen years ago), by outsourcing terrorism should be regarded as terrorists, terrorist method, terrorism promotion.

Terrorism is hardly about the “good and the bad”, it is simply an indicator of tactics, method. There is no more cruelty, if not less in giving a neck shot to a subversive as droning from a distance and do away with a dozen. Admittedly it is more folkloric, some graphics to grasp on to for the public, to define positively the official opponent as the “terrorist”.

Of course all this is debatable, at infinitum. If war had rules, and these rules were adhered to, human nature would suffocate of indigestion.

No one actually doing rescue work would wear BLACK overalls. They show dirt easily and worse, the color absorbs heat and that’s one thing you don’t want to happen, since rescue work is physically demanding, making one sweat profusely, as I know from my days as career firefighter. Wearing a black outfit during a Syrian Summer is just plain stupid, but the color sure does help compliment the actual white helmet.

The white helmets are but a branch of ISIS aka AL CIADA and have been used to create a false narrative of the war in the Mideast, and the Zionists are experts at creating false narratives in every thing they are involved in and especially the wars that the Zionists have involved America in.

Zionist Israel with the zionist controlled deep state attacked the WTC on 911 and killed some 3000 Americans and got away with it and every thinking American knows that Israel and the zionists did it and with that act the zionists revealed themselves to be the killers and liars that they are.

yes, but you hit on a big point “outsourcing terrorism”; just what is outsourcing.? I presume you meant
the out-sourcer to be a government and the outside source to be a non government, the out-sourcee or privateer?
Making that assumption.. outsourcing terrorism is a special case of privatization. A government has privatized; (that is, licensed to a private person, army or other third party, from the government’s own monopoly on authority to use deadly force), the authority of government to use deadly force and to inflict destructive or bodily harm against a victim target of the out-sourcer government.

Giraldi says perceptions of threat depend .. on..the engineered propaganda from the culture “your- self” has adopted; meaning to which or, to whose, propaganda do you reference when you are called upon to determine that something is acceptable, reasonable, or likely true? Practically no one would believe a human on earth could throw a quarter from earth to the moon; nearly every earth bound human would believe it reasonable that a quarter could be thrown from one side of a 60′ foot road to another. .

Tell me what you believe (search engine, and social mainstream media giants are trying to identify personal belief system of everyone in the world) and I will tell you how “you personally” will react to a particular set of facts engineered into a particular product of propaganda.

From each set of real or invented facts many different sets of propaganda can be engineered.
We call those who engineer propaganda to manipulate the minds of mass audiences, CPEs. Corrupt propaganda engineers.

If you think about it the opposite of inventing and presenting propaganda is the invention of a conspiracy theory. So defense to propaganda = conspiracy theory. (propaganda “divided by”/conspiracy theory) = 1.
A conspiracy theorist derives a theory that connects the facts and events presented in a propaganda into a different, but invented propaganda. Both propaganda come from the same set of facts, circumstances and events; each propaganda presents a different scenario, both presentations are from same set of facts, circumstances and events. Its the belief system of the audience that determines how a propaganda is perceived.
    .
The people that invent propaganda are called CPEs. meaning corrupt propaganda engineers, and the people who redirect the inventions of CPE designed propaganda into different scenarios are called conspiracy theorist.

If everyone could recognize engineered propaganda, for what it is, the exploitation and manipulation of your behavior as a response to your perceptual abilities and your belief system, a lot of the crisis in the world could be eliminated. I believe a major function of alternative media is to teach not only the language of propaganda but also how to recognize it, dis-cipher it and to call it out for what it is, fraud, that should be criminalized.

The author correctly states that White Helmets are terrorists. They are the PR crew of Al Nusra (Al Qaida in Syria), so it is only natural that the members of the group participated in many Al Nusra atrocities. The author failed to mention, however, that White Helmets are directly funded by the secret services of self-appointed “democratic” countries. That explains their success in the West more than anything. Unfortunately for the average Joe in the US, the US government, directly and via its secret services, is the main sponsor of terrorism in the world today.

Actually, there were rules of war, among which were that civilians were not to be harmed, and that combatants must be in uniform. Combatants not in uniform were spies, and could be executed on the spot. Those aiding and abetting spies were also considered spies. All of these rules started with the Peace/Treaty of Westphalia in 1648, which became the basis for international relations and law.

The Allies, or as some suggest All Lies, threw those rules out in WWII. The inversion of the rules became complete with the Stalinist show trials named the Nuremberg Military Tribunal. Torture became acceptable, as did the deliberate targeting of civilian populations. Not surprisingly, is the fact that the Zionists were terrorizing the civilian population in Palestine even in the 1920s. Of course, having no country made it easy for the rules not being applied to them.

What we see today is the complete breakdown of the rules that existed for nearly 300 years. Cui bono? Those whose tribal name must not be spoken, of course.

Given that Obama, who already had his Peace Prize, was droning innocent populations to death (terrorism), it seems the logical next step would be to identify the terrorists first, then give them a Peace Prize. Oh wait! That was already done in 1978.

The short answer: the US should not be in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, or anywhere in which groups are engaged in civil conflicts. If we are choosing sides that demand our participation – we should so so and be done with the matter.

No one likes to deal with this but the truth is now that the current executive signed on to the intel reports and assassination accusations — his foreign policy whatever it was on matters of intervention no longer belong to him. Both in Europe an d the US the interventionists remain obsessed with Russia — I don’t have any hopes this president will move in the direction of his original posturing regarding this region.

It’s still too early to tell what the real fallout from the Khashoggi drama will be.

Here are the big unanswered questions:

    1. If MBS is such a good friend to the West, why would all of the US Senate, CIA infested media outlets, and US-aligned, European puppet governments turn against him at once?

    2. Why elevate Turkey at the expense of Saudi Arabia?

    3. Is Iran really a winner if the militias they support are fighting Turkey-friendly militias in Syria?

    4. What is the endgame of the Khashoggi gambit? Arms mega-deals with Saudi remain intact, MBS still in power, and Saudi continues its anti-Iran policies undeterred.

    5. What did Pompeo tell the Saudis during his short visit that dramatically changed their tone? They had even threatened rapprochement with Iran before Pompeo calmed the waters.

    Smart

    O.K.
We know this is neither place nor time for serious conversation about the topic but I’ll try to summarize a couple of, maybe, interesting points.

Firstly, there IS an important place for this type of effort and I do respect people who do that. It COULD grow from disappointing into serious. I mean, even this article topic is related to the very beginning of troubles in Syria. They started with protests.
And…hehe…of all people you definitely know how it went in Romania etc and Communism in Europe.

The thing with protests is, again as so well known to many in USA/West, they must have huge numbers and, more importantly, they must be violent. There must be confrontation between security forces and protesters/marchers. Only that makes TPTBs uncomfortable enough to do something. Concede….or escalate.

Peaceful protests can’t accomplish anything in the current paradigm.

And we know that to motivate people to get into scuffles with security forces is just one simple thing: skin in the game.
The last time it was a possibility of draft and death/mutilation in jungles of SE Asia. Now…..nothing.

I just have a feeling we’ll see real marches sooner or later. What will motivate people, then, is just that M.A.D. option hanging over their heads.

The only question is…will it be too little and too late.

Yes, I agree it is too early to tell anything. What I understand that KSA Royals are not happy with Trump tweeting almost daily that King Salman will not last more than two weeks without USA Military backing. Arabs are too sensitives, and it doesn’t go well with common Arabs in the streets of KSA. In other Arabs’ and Muslims’ countries, King Salman is becoming a laughing stock.

Additionally, they are also sick of Trump turning against all their allies and sanctioning the almost the whole world, so they have decided to take matters in their own hands. They feel like they cannot rely on Trump anymore.

Since, KSA like Qatar have lost in Syria, they (KSA) probably have now decided to join the Resistance of Axis (Russia, Syria, Iran and Hezbollah), as Turkey and Qatar are already leaning towards joining the Resistance of Axis. So, KSA doesn’t want to be left out alone in their own backyard. Time to make peace in their own backyard and not rely on Trump as he might turn against them anytime.

Jamal Khashoggi being a KSA assets and being part of their intelligence is maybe not dead, and has safely whisked off to KSA.

But there is not global cooling!!

In truth, we should thank our lucky stars to live in a period of warmth and bounty on our beautiful planet, because climate changes, and it will change again, perhaps soon.

In fact, the most recent period of global cooling, known as the Little Ice Age ended less than 200 years ago during the 19th century:

Little Ice Age (LIA), climate interval that occurred from the early 14th century through the mid-19th century, when mountain glaciers expanded at several locations, including the European Alps, New Zealand, Alaska, and the southern Andes
    [...]
The Little Ice Age followed the Medieval Warming Period (roughly 900–1300 ce) and preceded the present period of warming that began in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
    –Encyclopedia Britannica

During the Little Ice Age, superstitious humans blamed witches for the cooling climate, deteriorating conditions, failed crops, and other misfortunes. Many tens of 1000s of these innocent wretches were falsely accused of witchcraft and burned alive at the stake.

The murderous witch-burning ignoramuses were encouraged and led in their bogus beliefs and extreme actions by none other than the Roman Catholic Pope Innocent VIII himself, who in his Papal Bull of 1454 blamed all sorts of misfortune on witches:

“[m]any persons of both sexes, unmindful of their own salvation and straying from the Catholic Faith, have abandoned themselves to devils, incubi and succubi, and by their incantations, spells, conjurations, and other accursed charms and crafts, enormities and horrid offences, have slain infants yet in the mother’s womb…have blasted the produce of the earth,… these wretches furthermore afflict and torment men and women… with terrible and piteous pains and sore diseases… they hinder men from performing the sexual act and women from conceiving… the abominations and enormities in question remain unpunished not without open danger to the souls of many and peril of eternal damnation.

    –Summis desiderantes affectibus

Currently, climate alarmists and other ignoramuses inexplicably curse the mild conditions on planet Earth, and demonize the beneficial trace gas CO₂ for our good fortune.

Truly, Mother Nature has gassed her own people.

Yes, we are indeed the beneficiaries of the mighty molecule that roared, which helps our crops and plants grow big and strong while using less water, and also adds that sparkling zip to your favorite beverage. In fact, just as your beer or soda goes flat as it warms, so too the oceans outgas CO₂ as they warm, and that is the most likely explanation for the recent modest increases in atmospheric CO₂, because atmospheric concentration of CO₂ lags behind temperature by about 800 years, as revealed by the ice core records.

The oceans are big, and they give up their carbon dioxide slowly, unlike your canned beer that goes flat fast, so drink up.

Climate changes. And it will change again, perhaps soon. Recently, our Sun has been virtually spotless, leading some scientists to predict an impending Maunder Minimum, a condition last witnessed during the depths of the Little Ice Age.

“solar activity will fall by 60 percent during the 2030s to conditions last seen during the ‘mini ice age’ that began in 1645,”

    https://www.livescience.com/51597-maunder-minimum-mini-ice-age.html

Some may like it hot, but few will like it cold.

Bottom line: enjoy global warming; it may not last.

Click on the names for links to their climate-related sites. There are also climate research organizations associated with universities. These are all legitimate scientific sources.

However, there is as much scientific evidence for this being the result of human activity as there was that Earth cooling is the result of the witchcraft (see comment #71). So, science has data that the climate is getting warmer, but has no data that human activity is the cause.

I do reject bogus science, nonfactual statements, and illogical arguments irrespective of source, while I certainly do accept the valid arguments of many credible scientists who dispute both man-made global warming and the demonization of CO₂. My authorities have more appeal than yours, and our science is better than yours as well.

It is important to understand that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is not a fake news organization. Neither is NASA. Neither is the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

    – Paul Craig Roberts

The IPCC is not a fake news organization, eh? Well, strictly speaking, it is more accurate to call the IPCC a fake science organization, but perhaps somehow PCR hasn’t heard about Climategate.

“If there were any doubts remaining after reading the first Climategate e-mails, the new batch of e-mails that appeared on the web today [November 22] make it clear that the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is an organized conspiracy dedicated to tricking the world into believing that global warming is a crisis that requires a drastic response,” said Myron Ebell, Director of the Competitive Enterprise Institute’s Center on Energy and Environment.

Climategate II: More Smoking Guns From The Global Warming Establishment

The Hockey Stick – Mann and IPCC deny and erase the Little Ice Age

Climate alarmists like Michael Mann and the IPCC have been busted for smoothing even erasing natural climate variations in Earth’s past in order to amplify and accentuate any modern warming.

Paris Stunned As Scientists Debunk Climate Change Hysteria

…scientists have stunned attendees at the UN’s climate change conference in Paris recently by debunking claims that global warming is man-made.

The scientists say that while the science refutes the UN’s claim that man-made carbon emissions are to blame for global warming, they claim that the UN is pressing ahead with its sinister ‘climate regime’ agenda, which includes: destroying industrial civilization, propping up kleptocrats with Western tax funds, and seizing control of the global economy under the guise of regulating the immensely beneficial “gas of life,” also known as carbon dioxide.

Dr. Robert Carter: “Global warming is not happening,” he explained…that long-term cooling was predicted. Carter’s presentation…totally shredded the outlandish notion that CO2 — exhaled by humans and critical to life — is “carbon pollution” in need of regulation…he said, even at current atmospheric concentrations, the Earth and the plants it supports are “starving” for more CO2. And in the past, CO2 concentrations were some 10 to 15 times higher.

Also speaking at the summit was Dr. Willie Soon, an astrophysicist and geoscientist at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. The UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), he explained, “is totally anti-science, and is harming science.” Emphasizing the massive role played by the sun in the Earth’s incomprehensibly complex climate system, Soon narrowed in on one particular claim in the IPCC report on the issue that he said made a complete mockery of science. “The IPCC is pure gangster science,”

Another top scientist at the summit was University of Virginia Professor Emeritus Dr. Fred Singer… “There has been no statistically significant warming in 18 years,” he told the summit, showing a slide comparing observed temperatures with the various bogus predictions made by “climate models” relied upon by the UN, all of which predicted warming as CO2 increased. “The models don’t work. We should not use them to make policy.” He also noted that carbon dioxide — “the original plant food,” as he called it — is very valuable. “Plants are starving. They want more CO2,” Singer added.

Essentially, the internationally respected scientist continued, the climate has always changed due to natural forces — warming, cooling, and so on — from the beginning. And so, that means the obvious hypothesis that natural forces are still driving climate change, as they always have, must be shown to be false by proponents of the man-made climate change propaganda. In other words, the burden to show that the recent minor changes are attributable to mankind is on the alarmists who want to empower the UN, control CO2, and redistribute wealth. So far, though, the alarmists have failed, and they have a tough job ahead, Singer said.

“This is about money and power,” Singer told The New American in an interview, adding that governments had purchased the cooperation of many scientists on climate alarmism. “Science plays a small role, and mostly it’s being misused.” “It’s a matter of really trying to control things,” Singer said, noting that control of CO2 means control of economies and ultimately, people. What is being plotted right now at the nearby UN COP21 summit, he added, is a “direct subsidy to kleptocracies,” which are pocketing the climate loot and hiding it in their bank accounts. “It’s a matter of the poor in rich countries supporting the rich in the poor countries,” Singer concluded.

Ukraine’s 2017 language law … mandates that all public education beyond the fourth grade be conducted in the Ukrainian language. This has been resisted by Hungarian, Polish, and Romanian minority communities. …

According to the Poland in English website, the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance forbade the search for and exhumation of the remains of Polish victims of wars and conflicts that occurred on the territory of Ukraine. Their bilateral relations also worsened after an amendment to Poland’s law on the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN), which among other provisions, criminalized the denial of human-rights abuses committed by Ukrainian nationalists between 1925 and 1950.”

Science holds that a correlation cannot be a proof of cause-and-effect relationship. Say, if the same red Honda is on the road when I drive to work, this does not mean that it’s on the road because I drive to work. Seeing correlations as cause-and-effect relationships is called superstition. That’s how rituals emerge, from cavemen to modern adepts of all religions.

I’ve heard this kind of “argument” before. In the last decade of the Soviet Union the level of Caspian sea was noticeably decreasing. Lots of “environmental activists” claimed that as it correlated with the use of water from the main river feeding it, Volga, this decrease in level was because we took too much water from Volga. Then about 15 years ago, while the same amount of water was still taken from Volga, the level of Caspian sea began to rise. “Environmental activists” were suddenly silent. BTW, it keeps rising now, even though more and more water is taken from Volga every year.

Point is, we know so little that jumping to conclusions is the silliest thing we can do. Science teaches you humility, whereas what “activists” of all stripes are preaching is “know-it-al” arrogance.

The ugly shed that Nuland-Kagan has built: “Post-Maidan Suicide of Ukrainian Small Business” http://thesaker.is/post-maidan-suicide-of-ukrainian-small-business/

“… now the bandits pretending that they are the state authorities try to hold elections in Ukraine. … They won’t actually be able to do it. During the previous parliamentary elections the counting of votes was controlled by armed gangs. The only persons to gain seats in parliament were those who were allowed to do so by gangs, at the order of the authorities and in coordination with the US Embassy. … today the US is indifferent to who will win in Ukraine. …

Clever people left [Ukraine] long ago. The stupid ones fight for Ukrainian European integration. … Society in general believes that business equals Jews, and Jews “stole everything”. Moreover, a considerable part of nationalist, pro-Russian, and even the part of the Ukrainian society that feels nostalgic for the USSR suffers from a sharp form of anti-Semitism. Businessmen, like Jews at the time of inquisition, are alien to all. Even the patriotic ones.”

    – A Q for the 52 main American Jewish organizations: When will the ADL and Simon Wiesenthal Center begin their righteous hunting for Nuland-Kagan, Pyatt, Kolomojsky and Bibi, which all are directly responsible for the ongoing revival of Nazism and the dramatic rise in real anti-Judaism in Ukraine?
