“Remember, it’s a rigged system. It’s a rigged election,” said Donald Trump in New Hampshire on Saturday.

The stunned recoil in this city suggests this bunker buster went right down the chimney. As the French put it, “Il n’y a que la verite qui blesse.” It is only the truth that hurts.

In what sense is the system rigged?

Consider Big Media — the elite columnists and commentators, the dominant national press, and the national and cable networks, save FOX. Not in this writer’s lifetime has there been such blanket hatred and hostility of a presidential candidate of a major party.

“So what?” They reply. “We have a free press!”

But in this election, Big Media have burst out of the closet as an adjunct of the regime and the attack arm of the Clinton campaign, aiming to bring Trump down.

Half a century ago, Theodore White wrote of the power and bias of the “adversary press” that sought to bring down Richard Nixon.

“The power of the press in America,” wrote Teddy, “is a primordial one. It sets the agenda of public discussion; and this sweeping power is unrestrained by any law. It determines what people will talk about and think about — an authority that in other nations is reserved for tyrants, priests, parties and mandarins.”

On ABC’s “This Week,” Newt Gingrich volunteered on Sunday that, “without the unending one-sided assault of the news media, Trump would be beating Hillary by 15 points.”

On this one, Newt is right.

With all due respect, as adversaries, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi are not terribly formidable. Big Media is the power that sustains the forces of globalism against those of Americanism.

Is the system rigged? Ask yourself.

For half a century, the U.S. Supreme Court has systematically de-Christianized and paganized American society and declared abortion and homosexual marriage constitutional rights.

Where did these unelected jurists get the right to impose their views and values upon us, and remake America in their own secularist image? Was that really the Court’s role in the Constitution?

How did we wind up with an all-powerful judicial tyranny in a nation the Founding Fathers created as a democratic republic?

There are more than 11 million illegal immigrants here, with millions more coming. Yet the government consistently refuses to enforce the immigration laws of the United States.

Why should those Americans whose ancestors created, fought, bled and died to preserve America not believe they and their children are being dispossessed of a country that was their patrimony — and without their consent?

When did the country vote to convert the America we grew up in into the Third World country our descendants will inherit in 2042?

In the Civil Rights Act of 1964, a Congressional majority voted to end discrimination against black folks.

When did we vote to institute pervasive discrimination against white folks, especially white males, with affirmative action, quotas and racial set-asides? Even in blue states like California, affirmative action is routinely rejected in statewide ballots.

Yet it remains regime policy, embedded in the bureaucracy.

In 2015, in the Democratic primaries, the big enthusiastic crowds were all for 75-year-old Socialist senator Bernie Sanders.

We now know, thanks to leaked emails, that not only the superdelegates and the Obama White House but a collaborationist press and the DNC were colluding to deny Sanders any chance at the nomination.

The fix was in. Ask Sanders if he thinks the system is rigged.

If there is an issue upon which Americans agree, it is that they want secure borders and an end to trade policies that have shipped abroad the jobs, and arrested the wages, of working Americans.

Yet in a private speech that netted her $225,000 from Brazilian bankers, Hillary Clinton confided that she dreams of a “common market, with open trade and open borders” from Nome, Alaska, to Patagonia.

That would mean the end of the USA as a unique, sovereign and independent nation. But the American press, whose survival depends upon the big ad dollars of transnational corporations, is more interested in old tapes of the Donald on The Howard Stern Show.

As present, it appears that in 2017, we may get a government headed by Hillary Clinton, and an opposition headed by Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell.

Is that what the people were hoping for, working for, voting for in the primaries of 2016? Or is this what they were voting against?

Big money and the media power of the establishment elites and the transnationals may well prevail.

ORDER IT NOW

And if they do, Middle America — those who cling to their bibles, bigotries and guns in Barack Obama’s depiction, those “deplorables” who are “racist, sexist, xenophobic, homophobic,” who are “not America” and are “irredeemable” in Hillary Clinton’s depiction — will have to accept the new regime.

But that does not mean they must love it, like it or respect it.

Because, in the last analysis, yes, Virginia, the system is rigged.

Patrick J. Buchanan is the author of the new book “The Greatest Comeback: How Richard Nixon Rose From Defeat to Create the New Majority.”

  1. Sanders has revealed himself as a grovelling disgrace, particularly after the evidence which has emerged from wikileaks and elsewhere that he was cheated by the power structure of his nomination. There are even indications that he made a deal knowing it was fixed. As for Mr. Buchanan, though I started my adulthood disliking him as an acolyte of Nixon, he has worn well and his foreign policy views have revealed themselves to be accurate. Nixon, though he was guilty of the major crime of keeping the Viet Nam war going, was correct in his openness to China and his detente with the Soviet Union. Imperialism is inimical to any sort of republic, and the yankee imperium has degenerated into the soft fascism discussed by political thinker Sheldon Wolin, who came up with the best description of the 21st century yankee state which I have seen.

Buchanan knows better than anyone how the US political system is rigged, because he, like Ron Paul, was one of the highest profile modern victims of it. His burning at the stake by the antiracist, anti-anti-Semite, anti-sexist etc witchfinders serving the interests of the globalists and interventionists was just one of the steps that allowed the globalist and socially liberal antidemocratic agenda to dominate, in a supposedly republican system.

But Americans imo should also reflect hard on the way these events prove the wisdom and basic truth of the nativist republican distrust of empire, of a standing military, and of international interventionism. The reason foreign and dual loyalty lobbyists spend their billions to influence US politics is precisely because they know that US power can easily be manipulated to serve their own causes around the world. Israel and Saudi Arabia today are only continuing in the tradition of my own country, which pulled no punches and spared no expense in manipulating US politics to win WW2 for us.

I hear ya. The chances of the establishment respecting even a landslide Trump win are zero. If the year-long wall to wall propaganda campaign against him doesn’t result in Hillary receiving more votes than Trump, they will simply steal the election. Not hard to do with electronic voting machines, and not remotely out of character for these people. The US as we’ve known it will die on November 8th.

“Half a century ago, Theodore White wrote of the power and bias of the “adversary press” that sought to bring down Richard Nixon.”

Except we have a media, so Newt’s rhetoric falls on deaf ears. He should focus on what is reality, not fantasy.

“For half a century, the U.S. Supreme Court has systematically de-Christianized and paganized American society and declared abortion and homosexual marriage constitutional rights.”

The culture war has been lost, Patrick. The American people have spoken on these issues.

“Why should those Americans whose ancestors created, fought, bled and died to preserve America not believe they and their children are being dispossessed of a country that was their patrimony — and without their consent?”

First, white Americans are not being dispossessed of their country. If anything, their ancestors used brutal tactics to remove by force the natives of this land. Second, Americans have had consent in crafting immigration laws, both past and present. Third, America was built on the backs of immigrants, from the English to the West African to the Chinese to the Mexican.

Aside from the weakling Christians, I don’t understand why people, especially white people who are fighting for their very existence, are so averse to the idea of taking human life. I know Buchanan can’t openly call for violent action, but he could use his words to foster the right mindset…one of clean-cut patriotism, and a spiritual duty to perpetuate the white race, even if it means violent right action to protect our women and children from the savages of this world. I won’t argue over the Supreme Court partisanship, and they probably didn’t have the right to impose their views/interests on the people, but we can tell what gave them the chance to: society self-secularized and self-de-christianized.
Nobody actually cares for Christianism, and theism of any old flavour (of course scientism is a new theism, but religions aren’t seen as beliefs, rather as evidence, in their own prime time, and scientism couldn’t now) any more.

Same as above. Without the general populace’s utter indifference, the government would have no choice but to take another course of action on immigration.
People’s utter indifference has been the government’s enabler all along. Governments don’t only govern people; they are also governed by the people.
As someone had it, if Japan’s or Taiwan’s or China’s President and ruling politicians would try to go “open borders” they’d face immediate, unsustainable revolt by the people.

    Here nobody cares.

Why should those Americans whose ancestors created, fought, bled and died to preserve America not believe they and their children are being dispossessed of a country that was their patrimony — and without their consent?

This brings to mind discussions over the need for more explicit consent for sexual activity.
Passive consent is consent. If you don’t complain (and the dispossessed aren’t touched by the desire for complaining, let alone protesting, in the least) it’s not rape.
The U.S.A. isn’t being raped. It is being taken away from people who no longer care about it by people who care a lot about running it.
It’s such a peaceful transaction — if obviously a disheartening one for the sane of mind.

You are bloody well right. I have often called for a paper trail like it is done in most countries to control election fraud by the elite. Even in third world countries I have seen more checks and balances when it comes to counting votes than you have in the United States.
How the electoral game is rigged? Simple; you start with rating agencies rigging the surveys in favour of the establishment’s candidate. Then the media jumps in as Mr. Buchanan described. Then if all of that fails, the rigging of the electoral machines comes in to deliver the final blow. A most recent example is the second debate between Trump and Clinton where according to Jeff Rense, an independent polling service asked people to declare the winner and about a million people participated and voted an overwhelming 90% that Trump won. Yet most media channels declared Clinton the winner.
This same tactic was used in the Brexit vote where the polls showed the exit voters leading by a margin of 60 to 40. Just days before the referendum a pro European Paliamentarian was supposedly assassinated by a Brexit supporter and the polls showed the be exit vote split 50/50. However it seems that all the machination failed to convince the British that open borders and European integration is good for them. So the final ‘ declared’ vote ended with 52 in favour against 48 against. The question is : who’s to say that this final outcome is correct.

  48. @The Anti-Gnostic
