President Donald Trump has decided to cease cooperating with what he sees, not incorrectly, as a Beltway conspiracy that is out to destroy him.

“We’re fighting all the subpoenas,” Trump said Wednesday. “These aren’t, like, impartial people. The Democrats are out to win in 2020.”

Thus the Treasury Department just breezed by a deadline from the House Ways and Means Committee to deliver Trump’s tax returns.

Thus the White House will invoke executive privilege to deny the House Judiciary Committee access to ex-White House counsel Don McGahn, who spent 30 hours being interrogated by Robert Mueller’s team.

Thus the Justice Department is withholding from the Oversight Committee subpoenaed documents dealing with the decision to include a question on the 2020 Census about citizenship status.

Across the capital, the barricades are going up figuratively as they did physically in the 1960s and ’70s. Once more, it’s us against them.

Cognizant of the new reality, Trump seems to be saying:

These House investigations constitute a massive political assault, in collusion with a hostile media, to destroy my presidency.
We do not intend to cooperate in our own destruction. We are not going to play our assigned role in this scripted farce. We will resist their subpoenas all the way to November 2020. Let the people then decide the fate and future of the Trump presidency — and that of Nancy Pelosi’s House.

In response to Trump’s resort to massive resistance, Rep. Gerald Connolly said: “A respect for the limits of your branch of government, a respect for the role of other branches of government, is sort of the oil that makes the machinery work. …

Absent that this breaks down. And I think we’re definitely seeing that.”

Connolly is not wrong. But the requisite mutual respect between the Democratic House and the Republican White House simply does not exist. It broke down a long time ago.

The campaign of 2020 is on. And the stakes are huge. Not only are the first and second branches of government in play, so, too, is the third, the Supreme Court. Many Democrats, refusing to accept the success of the 50-year conservative long march to capture the court, are determined to pack an expanded court with liberal justices to overturn the conservatives’ victory.

With Republicans having won two presidential elections in 20 years, with fewer popular votes, Democrats are also resolved to rewrite the Constitution and abolish the Electoral College.

Not only ex-convicts but felons in prison must now be allowed to vote, says Bernie Sanders, even if that means the Boston Marathon bomber.

Under the Sanders reform, if someone murders you, he is still entitled to an absentee ballot. The right to vote is apparently more sacred than the right to life. Truly, this is the divination of democracy.

Trump’s defiance of House subpoenas will fire up his base, which sees the world as he does and has never cottoned to what President Gerald Ford cherished as “the politics of compromise and consensus.”

Whatever may be said about the “deplorables,” they are not obtuse. They do not believe that people who call them racists, sexists, nativists and bigots are friends and merely colleagues of another party or persuasion.

Trump’s defiance of subpoenas, however, will force the more moderate Democrats to join the militants in calling for hearings on impeachment in the House Judiciary Committee, which is where we are headed.

The media are already salivating over the possible removal of a president they have come to loathe more than their great nemeses of the 20th century — Joe McCarthy and Richard Nixon.

And the media will reward those who echo the call for impeachment.

This week, two more Democrats running for president, including Sen. Kamala Harris, came aboard. Soon, the House will capitulate to the clamor and the stampede will be on.

The problem for Democrats?

Attempting to overturn the election of 2016 and remove a president who has the passionate support of a third of the nation will sunder the Democratic Party base as surely as it will unite the Republicans.

Should impeachment succeed, a wound would be inflicted on the American body politic that would take years to heal.

In the longer run, however, the question being raised today goes to the long-term health of the republic itself.

America surely does not lack for diversity. Its diversity — racial, religious, cultural, ethnic, ideological, political — is visible and ever-growing. What is missing is the concomitant of unity.

Moreover, it is the more racially, culturally, religiously, ethnically, and ideologically diverse of the parties, the Democrats, that seems the more splintered than a Republican Party that is supposed to be afflicted with the incurable and fatal disease of Trumpism.

The questions raised by the present state of our politics, which might fairly be described as an American civil war without arms, are these: How does a nation so divided stand united in the world?

And if it cannot stand united in the world, how long does it remain a great nation?

Patrick J. Buchanan is the author of “Nixon’s White House Wars: The Battles That Made and Broke a President and Divided America Forever.”

I respect you greatly Mr. Buchanan, but the Republic of the Founders is dead – not dying, not in trouble, not facing an uncertain future. The only unknown regarding the future is whether whites will unite and wage a war for self-preservation or allow themselves and their culture to be destroyed. All other questions are moot.

A certain segment of the white population may unite and start to fight back against the assault on their freedom and their safety. But whites as a race will never unite.

The blacks aren’t divided. The muslims aren’t divided. The joooz aren’t divided. La Raza isn’t divided. They’re all on one side, the Democrat anti-American coalition. The white nation is divided, and that is mainly along sexual lines, with white women, especially singles, having no sense of in-group loyalty.

It’s white males against everybody else. The anti-American party keeps telling you that. Better believe it. And there’s only one way to win, and they keep telling you that too, that white males should never think about it.

  5. Blame your white politicians for all this mess.
Apparently, Republicans like Reagan and Bush did more harm to White America(increasing legal immigration and passing the amnesty) than any Democrat or Non white will ever do.
Bill Clinton wanted to reduce immigration in the mid 1990s and corrupt republicans killed that idea.

Anyway, future of America is a dwindling white population that is that is breeding more and more with Blacks(white women) and Asians(white men).
Whites won’t be even 20 percent of the population by 2100 as Democrats will ensure a borderless America after 2024.
Be careful while bringing in more White babies to the world.

By NOT standing “united in the world” i.e. by not trying to maintain a world-wide empire, it can at last become a great nation. That is what it means to MAGA!That is truly the mission of Trumpism. And that is what the deep-state Dem’s are rebelling against (along with more than a few Repub’s.) And that is what the President must get back to to save his presidency & to save the nation.

Pat seems to hold out hope that America can somehow be put back together despite its fatal racial diversity combined with nefarious Jewish power and influence that has a vested interest in keeping the pot boiling at all times. But it can’t. Pat comes from the generation that believes America will always bounce back no matter what, but the racial diversity and bitter political discord resulting therefrom is too much to overcome. Optimism must give way to pragmatism at some point.

America’s future involves whites who don’t hate themselves or America against everyone else who hates America and think that it’s fundamentally flawed because is was founded by white men.

True, Buchanan is of a different generation, and despite his understanding (in theory) of what is happening, I don’t think he truly believes the nation of his memory can be overcome. But in fact it has already happened.

  16. Lots of talk below about being white and defending it.

I’m white. And, although I too am offended by the stereotype the Left if disseminating about members of my race, and particularly about men of my race, I don’t share the same level of animus that some below seem to display.

I’m not white first. I’m American first.

So, I’ll not pay any particular attention to the provocations of folks like me bythe Left, however heinous and undeserved those provocations may be. Why? Well, the answer is two-fold.

Firstly, I think their castigating whites and, in particular, white me will boomerang back to hurt the Left, and that hurt will be well-deserved. So, I never, ever try to dissuade them from endlessly repeating their provocations. Indeed, I make an effort to encourage it online.

Secondly, as an American I worry for my country. I think Pat’s column above reflects his worry too. I’d like to see this stuff blow over so we can get back to making this country great again.

How about you folks? Can you get behind that vs. loading up on arms and ammunition?

Why should the US remain united, a great nation or present a face to the world? There are more important problems as you make clear but seem at the same time to ignore. How many people can really stomach the Democrats? How many can really stomach the Republicans?

The word we really need to confront is enemy. What do you do when you no longer can stomach one’s political opponents. What do you do when they have become something more than political opponents?

I see no reason why the US should not be partitioned. Provided the pieces are economically viable and the most important enemies are on the other side of the border it is fine with me.

If the South had been just been allowed to succeed the slavery question would have been removed from the Northern Union with a stroke of a pen. There would have been no war to destroy the Constitution which the Civil War clearly did forcing a quick patch up and pretense at the end of the war.

Even saying something demonstrably true like “well he’s still better than Hillary” brought down thunderous abuse.

I’m not white first. I’m American first.

In know how you feel, Longfisher. I used to feel the same way, too–for years. That’s how I was raised, in fact.

But here’s the rub: today’s Establishment insists either:

A.) ‘American’ is code-language for white, in which case it is evil, evil, evil; or …

B.) ‘American’ is just some kind propositional creed that anyone anywhere in the world can adopt, in which case the term is simply meaningless.

So there you have it: either being American in now evil, or else it means nothing at all. Once you understand that, you will also understand the futility of trying to defend some archaic concept like the ‘melting pot’ model of assimilation that we learned about in the first grade. In fact, you will start to realize that America as such doesn’t really exist at all anymore. No: we are now another Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.

  31. @Wantoknow

Good points. Slavery was never the primary issue in the War Between the States. Lincoln said so. Slavery was on its way out anyway as it was no longer economically viable. Every other predominately white western country did away with slavery without resorting to war. Those 600,000+ gruesome deaths were completely avoidable and are on Lincoln’s head. Given the history of the US, it is doubtful if Washington will every allow whites to peacefully secede.

  32. @KenH

Agreed. The discord and probable violence will only ramp up as the 2020 election approaches. I would not be surprised if whites in majority minority areas will be too intimidated to go to the polls if they have to go thru a gauntlet of blacks to get there.

Even “so-called centrist” Joe Biden announced his candidacy in Charlottesville by essentially stating (in opposition to Trump’s statement at the time) that there were no “good whites” who had been in attendance at that “white supremacist” rally. Biden longs for the day when whites will become an “Absolute Minority” in the country – and he is supposed to be the “Moderate” candidate. Even Biden is far too moderate for the radicals who have taken over that degenerate party. The battle lines are drawn.

“but the Republic of the Founders is dead – not dying, not in trouble, not facing an uncertain future.”

Actually, it’s been dead fort least 50 years. It officially died once the radical left succeeded in taking over academia and turning it into a one-party state.

This is also why it doesn’t matter whom you vote for. Our schoolteachers, journalists, lawyers, judges, bureaucrats, and corporate executives are all products of the one-party state. Those who comprise the state effectively run the state, and they can’t be voted out.

    https://theredfootedbooby.com/2019/04/24/the-real-college-scandal-hate-politics-gone-hollywood-chic/

And yes, it partly explains why it’s a gender war, too. Middle- and upper middle-class women want to be seen as the “smart set”, and emulate Hollywood and the fashionable media, and these institutions, too, are products of the one-party state. The fashion-obsessed have shown throughout history that they are willing to cut their own throats just to be seen saying and repeating the right things.

  44. “A nation at war with itself.”

Here are warriors from opposing sides of that war (aka Pogo pretzeled):

Cenk Uygur, white (are Turks white?), ‘diverse,’ highly educated — Columbia Law = the stint that I would bet most defined his weltanschauung — and opened most doors, representing the Braying Jackass class — Cenk appeared on C Span compressed into a suit; he was slick, glib, memorized all the necessary talking points and delivered them with the charm of a jackhammer with a dull bit

    https://www.c-span.org/video/?460140-3/washington-journal-cenk-uygur-discusses-campaign-2020&playEvent

    and

    Maj Toure
Maj is Black, appeared on C Span shortly after Uygur; he wore a baseball cap, a T-shirt; he’s bearded, he says he has a lot of tattoos. I was not able to find information about his parentage, upbringing, education. Maj started an organization called Black Guns Matter. He’s committed to freedom; it’s the defining principle of the way he lives his life and the work he does. https://www.ammoland.com/2018/06/interview-with-maj-toure-founder-of-black-guns-matter/#axzz5mPxaWnyE

The mission of Black Guns Matter is to teach Black people – primarily but not exclusively — that they have the right to defend themselves, in fact, the duty to protect themselves and those they love. He also teaches about conflict resolution, and, in general, being a free man (woman) in a country that was founded on principles of freedom of the individual.

    https://www.c-span.org/video/?460140-4/washington-journal-maj-toure-discusses-gun-rights-gun-violence-prevention&playEvent

It is difficult to capture the essence — make that stench — of Cenk’s commentary this morning on C Span — difficult in the sense that the rational mind is repulsed at the bigotry, mendacity, and self-satisfied arrogance Cenk revealed. His rant on the evil of Robert E. Lee was stunning: the people of Charlottesville are as evil and immoral as Robert E. Lee, and if they had any morals at all they would have never permitted those “Nazis” to march in their city.

The C Span audience noticed it, and commented on it: an octogenarian who said he’s “watched C Span since 1979” said he’d “never seen anyone so rude, never before heard a guest talk back to callers” the way Uygur did. He said the producer should be called to account for hosting Cenk.

Maj Toure’s appearance and presence was also noticed by the C Span audience: he was rational, calm, exuded common-sense, total self-possession, respect for his interlocutors that emanated from his respect for himself. Almost every caller agreed with Toure’s positions and expressed praise for his message and his presentation.

A website that tracks those things says Uygur is worth $5 million.

Maj Toure said he set a goal of raising $25,000; when his group hit that, they aimed for $112,000; he spends months at a time in a cities with high rates of gun violence doing “training” on gun safety, conflict resolution, de-escalation.

    >”The only unknown regarding the future is whether whites will unite and wage a war for self-preservation”

Whites didn’t fight feminists, SJWs, BLM, etc. for the past 50 years. They aren’t going to fight now.

Men too cowardly to fight for their own sons aren’t going to suddenly become heroic.

    >”Then apparently Trump lobbed a few missiles at a Syrian airstrip”

Not “apparently.” He actually did that. Plus moved our embassy to Jerusalem. And gave Matzostan $38,000,000,000 tax-free. Then shlt-stirred Iran. And “recognized” Israel’s right to steal the Golan Heights and its oil/gas. And helped Bibi get reelected.

All to please his Zionazi daughter/son-in-law, Bibi, and AIPAC-of-Liars.

Now Don Trumpleone is increasing sanctions on Iran, pushing it closer to China and Russia.

He reformed prison laws, too, so more feral Wakandans can stalk the land.

Plus he gave $50,000,000 to Ivanka to play Princess Save-a-Ho around the world.

He’s done jacksquat for men…especially white men.

The one thing Trump was elected to do…build the Wall…hasn’t been done. His tax reforms, economic boosts, etc. can all be undone by Demokkkrats. The Wall would have remained. And stopped tons of strife. But Don won’t put the trigger and get ‘er done.

Finally, if deep, intense, “schoolgirl love” offends you, perhaps it’d be best to continue limiting your carnal forays to Fido.

    >”The frustrated right have livelihoods at stake so they do have a fairly long fuse, but the fuse is attached to an extremely explosive device. ”

Yeah, yeah, yeah. The fuse had 50 years to be lit. Nothing got men off their butts to light it. Not their sons being drugged for being imperfect girls. Not rape laws being re-written to include “touching” and the obligation…solely on males…to obtain ongoing, enthusiastic, and retroactively deniable consent. Not domestic violence being ever-more-vaguely defined with ever-more-harsh penalties. Not all-male colleges being forced to go coed while all-female prep-schools, colleges, healthclubs, roadraces, etc. were created. Not families being destroyed by feminism. Not masculinity being demonized as toxic. Not males being forced to take courses where they must atone for being Patriarchs. Not colleges becoming kangaroo courts that can ruin men’s lives based on mere accusations. And so on and on and on and on.

NOTHING got men to act. Which, of course, the Left saw as a green light to keep destroying all things male and traditional.

The problem is that the fuse…even if it were lit and didn’t keep sputtering out…would ignite a dud.

Men act like Martians make laws, not passive men and active women. Guys deserve all the stool they eagerly eat. No child should be raised by cucked, clueless, cowardly divorced dads.

No wonder boys today choose to be gay, bi, non-binary, gender-fluid, furrykin, otherkin, gerbilist, etc.– anything but demented dolts like their fathers.

Realist is right. He sees the Emperor is naked and announces it.

    Nah, Realist is a cunt.

I agree that Blormpf has been disappointing on the wall, so you’re preaching to the choir here, bub. Save your breath.

As I said, Realist used to love Trump. Now he goes around saying stuff like there’s no difference between Trump and Hillary, which is just complete bullshit, while insulting everyone who disagrees with him. Fuck this guy. You too.

We’re not at war with Russia (a certainty if she gets in), we didn’t impose a no-fly zone over Syria (Hillbag wanted that) and we’re not stuffing the federal bench with more Obama flunkies.

As for immigration, a new study from Syracuse U showed that asylum applications are being rejected far more under Trump. This is a victory, unless you’re a douchebag like Realist, or Anon[313].

That does not mean anything, the absolute numbers of non whites entering is increasing. At the same time white fertility rates are decreasing, miscegenation rates are increasing, censorship and oppression of whites has increased, all this under Trump. This is total failure, extinction level failure.

I think you have to put a certain amount of blame on whites for choosing to procreate with nonwhites. No one is holding a gun to their heads and making them do it.

Pat still labors under the delusion that the GOP is a conservative party. It isn’t and never has been, really. These “conservative” SCOTUS justices have more in common with their “liberal” fellows on the high bench than they have with any of the citizenry who think of themselves as conservatives.

The GOP was the first socialist party to gain political prominence, and its makeup hasn’t changed since its inception. Though the democrat party has changed its position to match the original GOP, in its roots it was once the party that tried somewhat to oppose the changes being made to the Constitution by the GOP after Lincoln’s war. That opposition faded away a century ago when the parties merged into one party with two purportedly opposing wings.

As a result, the terms “liberal and conservative” became meaningless except to the citizenry at large with even the citizenry succumbing to the merger of their political ideologies. The collapse took place decades ago and what we are seeing now is just the leisurely mopping up process.

Destruction that follows such a collapse has been ongoing and has become the inevitable, routine process that Americans have become used to seeing. Pat still thinks it’s 1878, apparently, when his warnings might have been accurate.

  56. Emotions are running high and we’re 19 months away from the 2020 election. I’m not sure if this country crossed a boundary that we can’t cross back from…a trigger-point that’s strained. I think our country is still in the hand-wringing phase. Ideas and views that were labelled “deplorable” 3 years ago are being discussed. Solutions like partition, secession and revolution are being mulled over. Many people have come to the conclusion that the USA is on life-support and that their children won’t have as nice of a life as they did. We’re definitely not going to vote our way out of this.
Remember when “preppers” were considered bat-s*** crazy losers a decade ago? (Undoubtedly some are but all of them made us pause and ask some hard questions.) A few years ago, the question of how bad would it have to get before I refuse to come into work (as a Chicago police officer) would have gotten you blank stares and co-workers who would question your sanity. Now it’s discussed in almost every patrol car. If the US dollar falls, if there is a nuclear attack, if martial law is declared, firearms confiscation, all have their own trigger-point. At least now I know the enemy…I just don’t know when and how they’re coming to get me. Seems everyone is waiting for STHTF (some eagerly) in some way or other. Until that time everyone is still on their own agenda.
