Mr. Jayman, why you are not answering me, dearest sir? You do not want to give away your negative thoughts of iranians, like in your tweet: "hopefully not more of them...."

No, please, give away your negative thoughts, so that I might discuss them with you.

    , @Kamran
Sir, are you willing to have a conversation with me or no?

First of all most iranian americans are not muslims but jews and zoroastrians.

We do not post a security risk: We hate islam!! We would never help terrorists. I want to see iran become persian and zoroastrian again. But no thanks to people like you, who are spreading negative propaganda, of course you are the only black man living in a completely white community, have never met an iranian in your life, think they are some kind of boogeyman.

Hi, regular reader here, Jayman. Just for the record I have many persian friends (muslim and non-muslim) and they seem like the complete opposite of what you mentioned (clannish, evil, stupid, etc.) Maybe you might do an honest post on iran, the good and bad, after thanksgiving, to dispel the notions that you have secret grudges against some races that people are attributing to you online? On some forums (anthroscape among them) you've made a lot of enemies because of your forthright , bulldozing style, telling people off and behaving in a very robotic, unconcerned manner. This is your blog and I'm not going to tell how to run it: It is an amazing blog with lots of data and analysis. But you have to admit it, its going to rub a lot of people the wrong way.

so the greeks beat the persians because they had higher iqs? why are the greeks so dumb today? compared to the germans for example?

this is all rot. i suppose had lynn lived at the same time as xerxes the great he would have found the germans were illiterate and dirty because they had lower iqs.

Patience young Padawan. I'm a busy man and don't have time to get to my blog or commenters as soon as they demand. I'm not ignoring you.

Richard Lynn gives the average IQ of Iran at 86, which sounds somewhat on the low side of the actual number given the accomplishments there. The real value is probably somewhere between 85 and 90.

Iranian Americans, like Muslim Americans in general, do well because immigrants from the Middle East tend to be somewhat more select than most, so have a higher average IQ than their home populations. This is not necessarily a good thing.

Broadly, certain groups are more or less compatible with life in the Western world thanks to the traits that make them more or less similar to Western populations. Iranians, like all Muslims, are extremely clannish and because of high degree of clannishness, are, in my view, broadly incompatible with Western society. Ideally, we should have fewer immigrants from Muslim countries, not the least reason being the security risk posed by individuals from those countries.

Before I respond to what you said, let me note one thing. My wife, who is far and a way a much better marketer than I'll ever be, says similar things to me. However, at the end of the day, I am a truth-seeker, first and foremost. I can only control what I say, not what other people hear. I put the facts out there, and what other people make of it is up to them.

Hi, regular reader here, Jayman. Just for the record I have many persian friends (muslim and non-muslim) and they seem like the complete opposite of what you mentioned (clannish, evil, stupid, etc.)

Now, are we talking about all Iranians, or just the select ones you know? As I noted previously, immigrant populations, in American, particularly those from the Muslim world, are highly unrepresentative of their home populations. Persian immigrants to the U.S. may indeed be of higher IQ, more universalist, and more adept at functioning in Western civilization than those at home. But, as I noted previously, I am in favor of reducing immigration across the board, so arguments about the merits of any particular immigrant group don't go all that far with me.

On some forums (anthroscape among them) you’ve made a lot of enemies because of your forthright , bulldozing style, telling people off and behaving in a very robotic, unconcerned manner.

As I once tweeted, "if you don't have haters, you must be doing something wrong." That particular board, from the looks of it, appears to be a nexus of heredity-deniers, so it's not surprising they don't like the facts as I give them. Frankly, for people like that, it wouldn't matter how I said what I said, as long as what I said didn't conform to their twisted blank-slatist(-lite?) view. (By the way, if anyone from that forum is reading this, yes, I mean you. Don't like it? Prove me wrong.)

This is your blog and I’m not going to tell how to run it: It is an amazing blog with lots of data and analysis. But you have to admit it, its going to rub a lot of people the wrong way.

@behrooz: artificial selection is the key (aka breeding by design). natural selection can't be trusted. it has the audacity to design groups who are a perfectly good solution for their own environment(s) - & then dumps them unceremoniously into an environment for which they are ill-bred & ill-suited! the nerve! we see that a lot around here - since we allow all types -- although as JayMan points out, often we get the "cream of the crop" from other countries - which doesn't always combine well with the "cream of the crap" we have of our own;) i had a wonderful professor who was Iranian - he left Iran with the fall of the Shah. He considered himself Persian. Although he was not quite bright enough to notice that most of psych is BS (!) & that only the genetics part (can you say "twin studies?") & the psychometrics part have any meat to them. & sadly, those are the parts that we hide, here in the glorious PC states of america. i wish you joy of your endeavors, & hopefully you can make everywhere better (instead of this silly obsession with "competing & defeating," etc.) & watch out, when you artificially select - other weird things are connected to those genes that you're selecting for, so you may get folks with floppy ears & bunny noses, or a tail! cheers!

PS to/@ behrooz — think “differential reproduction rates” buddy! those with the qualities you admire must produce more offspring than those who lack those qualities! & one last hint, dude – perhaps political incentives & disincentives can coerce those who have those desired qualities into having more babies than those who don’t have those qualities. btw, this will take quite a few generations, so you better get cracking! i wish you joy of it!

Evolution. Average IQ is not fixed, but changes through time through evolutionary forces, on the scale of centuries. It can change much faster when there is significant demographic change.

Extreme deprivation, like the type you find in the Third World can lower adult IQ below its genetic potential. However, that cannot account for all the racial disparities in IQ. See:

Hi Jayman. Elsewhere, for instance that Twitter with Sigl, you’ve stated you’re a political liberal. I think you’ll agree that Liberalism, while hardly unknown, is still rare amongst those that follow HBD topic. I was wondering if you could do a political post, how you came to your current positions, and why you think the non-liberals have it wrong.
