Search Text Case Sensitive  Exact Strings  Include Comments

I want to take the temperature of the room, so to speak. Here’s your chance to let me hear from you. I encourage all readers to participate, including the occasional drifters, lurkers, etc. The more people participate, the more accurate the results will be. Please chime in!

All votes are anonymous unless you choose to identify yourself in the text boxes.

Results will be published in one week.

Questions marked with a red asterisk * are required. All the text boxes are (or should be, at least) optional.

A totally unscientific poll, but the results (if you choose to make them available) should be interesting none the less.

It could be scientific, depending on the scope of the hypothesis and how well variables are controlled.
  7. I think that you should be more specific about what you mean by “where are you from”– born, raised, live now, lived the longest?

Ideally where you live now, but for those who just moved, where you lived the longest.

This one was tough for me too; I've lived in a lot of different places for approximately equal amounts of time. So I decided to just put down the place (of those where I've lived) that I identify with most culturally--or to think of it another way. the place where I have lived that I'd most want to keep living (physical geographic considerations aside).

I suspect that the researchers are overestimating the influence of environment but can’t be sure. Regardless, interesting that even finance professors are acknowledging a role for genetics. Social “scientists” will be the last holdouts.

  12. I haven’t found this before. Is it still open? In any event, it’s not working. There are only two questions (sex and age), and there are only two answers to the second question (under 18 or 18-29), so I guess there’s a problem with my Chrome (on a Mac).
